After Desperately Pretending To Be An Omega In Front Of My Girlfriend - Chapter 5
Inside the sealed rear compartment of the nanny van.
Gu Qian sat on Qi Yu’s lap, her fair, slender arms wrapped around Qi Yu’s shoulders as she buried her face against her neck.
Qi Yu tried several times to pry her off.
But Gu Qian clung to her like an oversized piece of sticky taffy. No matter how Qi Yu pushed or coaxed, she refused to let go.
Seeing how dazed Gu Qian still was, Qi Yu couldn’t bring herself to shove her away too roughly.
She could only hold her breath, turn her head toward the scenery outside the window, and do her best to ignore the warm breaths brushing against her neck.
Gu Qian’s soft, delicate fingers crept upward, slowly stroking the sensitive skin behind Qi Yu’s ear before occasionally pinching and teasing her earlobe.
Before long, Qi Yu’s jade-like ears had turned a brilliant shade of red.
“Gu Qian! You…”
Qi Yu caught the wandering hand that kept touching her face and took a deep breath.
“I’m begging you… could you please stop moving around?”
Gu Qian, however, seemed to have found the world’s biggest body pillow.
She affectionately pinched and kneaded Qi Yu’s cheeks as though she couldn’t get enough.
Helpless, Qi Yu simply closed her eyes and began silently reciting the key points from her History of Film class, refusing to pay any more attention to Gu Qian’s little antics.
Fortunately…
The hospital arrived soon enough.
Even after getting out of the van, Gu Qian stubbornly refused to let go.
Qi Yu had no choice but to dutifully serve as a human crutch.
The assistant expertly placed a black baseball cap on Gu Qian’s head, pulled a face mask over her face, and then turned a sharp gaze toward Qi Yu.
Qi Yu: “…”
“I don’t need one, do I? Nobody even knows who I am.”
After entering the hospital, the assistant said,
“I know a doctor here. Give me a secondβI’ll call her.”
While the assistant was making the call, Gu Qian continued hanging almost her entire weight on Qi Yu.
Unfortunately…
Qi Yu had seriously underestimated how much a fully grown woman weighed.
“Hiss…”
The strain in her waist, which had nearly healed over the past few days, was aggravated all over again after being repeatedly pulled and twisted.
Now the old injury had flared up completely.
The pain was so intense that Qi Yu couldn’t straighten her back, and a fine layer of sweat formed across her forehead.
The assistant finished the call and turned around.
Seeing Qi Yu’s pale, exhausted expression, she immediately hurried over to take Gu Qian back.
“I’m so sorry.”
“I forgot you’re an Omega too.”
“You must’ve been exhausted carrying her all the way here.”
Qi Yu smiled weakly.
“I’m not exactly exhausted…”
“…but could you do me a favor?”
“What favor?”
“Could you help me register with the Orthopedics Department?”
Assistant: “…”
At that moment, the assistant had never been more grateful that she was an ordinary Beta instead of a delicate Omega.
Look at that.
All she’d done was walk a little while supporting someone, and now she’d ended up in Orthopedics.
Omegas really are fragile creatures…
After Qi Yu was taken upstairs to Orthopedics…
Gu Qian, on the other hand, gradually regained full consciousness and returned to her usual mature, composed self.
The assistant finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She’d genuinely been worried that if she’d had to drag Gu Qian into the examination room by force earlier, she would’ve been fired on the spot.
Gu Qian cooperated fully with several routine examinations.
Fortunately, there was nothing seriously wrong with her.
The only issue was that being forced into heat had severely drained her physical strength.
She simply needed plenty of rest.
The middle-aged female doctor looked Gu Qian over carefully before asking,
“Miss Gu, do you rely on suppressants rather heavily in your daily life?”
Gu Qian fell silent before nodding.
The doctor continued,
“It’s best not to use suppressants too often.”
“They put a significant burden on your body.”
“When appropriate… it’s healthier to relieve your heat naturally.”
Both Gu Qian and her assistant were adults.
Naturally, they understood exactly what the doctor meant by “relieve your heat naturally.”
Not long afterward, Gu Qian’s manager, Zhou Xin, rushed to the hospital as soon as she heard what had happened.
She was currently standing against the wall talking on the phone, her expression distinctly unpleasant.
When she noticed Gu Qian, she gestured for her to come over with her free hand.
Knowing she was about to get scolded, the assistant quietly shuffled half a step behind Gu Qian for cover.
After hanging up, Zhou Xin sighed.
Crossing her arms, she tapped her fingers impatiently against her sleeve.
“Do you know you’re in your sensitive period these next few days?”
She frowned deeply, glaring at Gu Qian, who looked as calm as ever.
Gu Qian simply shrugged.
“Unexpected situations are hard to avoid.”
Seeing that Gu Qian remained completely unmoved, Zhou Xin’s sharp gaze shifted like a knife toward the assistant.
“Xiaofan.”
“I’m pretty sure I didn’t schedule any work for Gu Qian this week.”
The assistant’s eyes darted around nervously.
She shrank her neck.
“The invitation from her alma mater only came at the last minute… Sister Gu really wanted to encourage the younger acting students…”
Before she could finish, Zhou Xin cut her off.
“How many times have I told you?”
“Don’t take her to crowded places during the week before her heat!”
“Enough.”
Gu Qian couldn’t bear to watch Xiaofan continue getting scolded.
“I insisted on going.”
She knew Zhou Xin was only worried about her.
“I’ll be more careful next time.”
Unfortunately, Zhou Xin wasn’t buying it.
She asked bluntly,
“Was it because Capital Film University is where Qi Yu studies?”
When Gu Qian remained silent, Zhou Xin’s tone carried obvious frustration.
“You two are both Omegas.”
“Can you please think rationally for once?”
Unable to help herself, Xiaofan quietly muttered,
“Come on, Sister Zhou… it’s not like it’s the old days.”
“Omega-and-Omega couples are adorable.”
“You can’t discriminate against minority relationships…”
Zhou Xin shot her a glance.
Xiaofan immediately clamped both hands over her mouth.
Gu Qian’s jade-like face remained expressionless.
Her crimson lips were pressed tightly together.
Zhou Xin gave a mocking laugh.
“Fine.”
“I know I can’t control you.”
She shook her head before continuing,
“Stop looking so gloomy.”
“I’ve got some good news.”
“Want to hear it?”
Xiaofan eagerly spoke first.
“What is it?”
Smiling, Zhou Xin replied,
“Qi Yu got the female lead in Director Wang Du’s new movie.”
“I’ve also heard the company plans to sign her.”
Gu Qian raised her brows in surprise.
Her pupils contracted slightly.
Zhou Xin teased,
“Happy now?”
“But let me warn you.”
“Your career is at its absolute peak.”
“Don’t let the paparazzi catch any real evidence of… whatever this is.”
Xiaofan let out a quiet gasp before turning excitedly toward Gu Qian.
“Sister Gu!”
“Should we call Miss Qi upstairs and thank her?”
“The way she protected you today was so Alpha!”
Gu Qian let out a cold laugh.
“No need.”
She spoke lazily.
“She’s definitely run away already.”
Meanwhile…
Qi Yu sat in the car scrolling through Weibo on her tablet.
She suddenly realized she’d gained several thousand new followers…
…along with several hundred new comments.
After thinking about it, the only remotely unusual thing she’d done recently…
…was carrying Gu Qian in full public view.
Oh no.
Did Gu Qian’s fans come to attack me?
Qi Yu hurriedly opened the comment section.

#GuQianStudioStatement#
We regret to inform everyone that during Gu Qian’s lecture on campus this morning, an unexpected student heat triggered a large-scale pheromone disturbance.
Our staff immediately escorted Gu Qian away from the scene.
We would especially like to thank an Omega student from Capital Film University. Thanks to her courageous actions, Gu Qian was able to reach the hospital safely.
Gu Qian has now completed her medical examination and is perfectly fine. Thank you all for your concern!
Beneath the statement, countless people were discussing the identity of the mysterious student who had stepped forward.
Someone had taken a photograph of Qi Yu helping Gu Qian out of the auditorium.
Although only part of her profile was visible, the internet’s all-knowing detectives quickly uncovered her identity.

Qi Yu, the “hardcore fan” in question: “…”
So…
I actually became a little famous… for doing a good deed?
Qi Yu laughed helplessly.
Everyone believed she was an Omega.
In reality…
She was a genuine Alpha.
She’d taken both her suppressant and disguise medication that morning.
Given the emergency, her Alpha physique made her far more capable than either Betas or Omegas of protecting Gu Qian.
If she’d simply turned around and walked away…
…and something had happened to Gu Qian…
She suspected she’d have carried the guilt for the rest of her life.
While absentmindedly browsing the trending topics, her phone rang again.
Another unfamiliar number.
Could this be the production team calling about work arrangements?
“Hello, this is Qi Yu.”
“Hello, Miss Qi.”
“I’m Wu Zhen, a talent manager from Fenghua Entertainment.”
“I hope I’m not disturbing you.”
The moment Qi Yu heard the words Fenghua Entertainment, she unconsciously swallowed.
Wasn’t that Gu Qian’s company?
And the caller had introduced herself as Wu Zhen.
Could she really be the legendary Manager Wuβthe top talent agent whose roster included several of the industry’s biggest film and television stars?
Qi Yu felt a little dizzy.
Mechanically, she replied,
“Not at all. What can I do for you?”
“It’s like this.”
“Our company would like to sign you.”
“And I would personally serve as your manager.”
“I wonder… would Miss Qi be interested in working with us?”
Becoming an artist under Manager Wu…
…was practically every newcomer in the entertainment industry’s dream.
Qi Yu was just about to agree.
Then she remembered that signing with Fenghua Entertainment meant joining the same company as Gu Qian.
Who knew how many times they’d end up working together in the future?
They’d be seeing each other constantly.
She hesitated.
“Um… thank you very much for appreciating me.”
“But I think I still need a little more tiβ”
Halfway through speaking, several notifications popped up on her tablet.
“Shocking! After Gu Qian’s accident, the first influential person to appear was actually her?”
“The untold relationship between Fenghua Entertainment’s heiress and Best Actress Gu!”
Qi Yu immediately locked the tablet screen.
Calmly, she finished her sentence.
“I’ve thought it over.”
“I’m willing to sign the contract.”
