After I Became A Scumbag Alpha, the Female Lead Omega and I Both Fell Hard (Transmigration Into A Novel) - Chapter 11
Just after finishing the dishes, Ruan Tang seemed to remember something. She suddenly limped away, trotting out into the night.
Song Chenxi was sitting on the sofa, flipping through a magazine. Before she could react, a streak of white light split the sky.
The deathly pale lightning cut through the living room, draining all color from it.
A series of muffled thunderclaps rumbled overhead, followed by torrential rain.
Could Ruan Tang be trying to escape?
Song Chenxi genuinely hoped that Ruan Tang could regain her freedom.
But Ruan Tang currently suffered from PTSD and a pheromone disorder. Her ankle was still swollen, and even walking was difficult. What would she do after leaving?
The more Song Chenxi thought about it, the more worried she became.
At that moment, Ruan Tang struggled back into the entryway carrying a stack of clothes. She temporarily placed them on the entrance cabinet, then immediately rushed back into the rain.
Only then did Song Chenxi remember.
She had returned home early today, causing Ruan Tang to sprain her ankle and disrupting her usual routine. As a result, the laundry hanging outside had not yet been brought in.
Ruan Tang had long since abandoned the thought of escaping. She had merely gone to collect the laundry.
Song Chenxi smiled bitterly, uncertain whether she should feel relieved or saddened.
She immediately put down the magazine, grabbed an umbrella from the entrance, and ran after Ruan Tang.
“Ruan Tang, it’s raining! Leave the laundry!”
The rain was too loud. Ruan Tang did not hear her.
She hurried toward another drying rack to collect the bedsheets and duvet cover.
Along the way, one of her knees buckled. Losing her balance, she barely managed to keep herself upright by grabbing the drying rack.
The original Song Chenxi had enjoyed finding work for Ruan Tang to do. Unless it was raining, she required her to air out the bedding and wash the sheets and duvet cover every day.
Song Chenxi was tall and had longer legs. She reached Ruan Tang in only a few strides.
A shadow fell over Ruan Tang’s head as the umbrella sheltered her entire body.
It was the first time her master had ever held an umbrella for her.
“Hold the umbrella. I’ll collect everything.”
After speaking, Song Chenxi pushed the umbrella handle into Ruan Tang’s hand and skillfully pulled down the sheet.
Ruan Tang clutched the handle and stared at Song Chenxi’s unexpectedly efficient movements, her pupils trembling slightly.
“Master, you can’t!”
After speaking, she moved to help.
“Do you want to lose that foot?” Song Chenxi raised her voice slightly.
Within moments, most of her own clothes were soaked.
The rain struck her face.
It was so cold.
Water entered her eyes, making her blink repeatedly in discomfort.
Ruan Tang had never witnessed anything like this before. She grew so anxious that she nearly cried.
“No, Master. Let me do it. You can’t… You can’t get wet!”
She rose onto her toes and lifted the umbrella with both hands to shield Song Chenxi from the rain. Her wet black hair clung to her face, making her snow-white skin appear even more bloodless and lifeless.
Holding the sheets and duvet cover in one arm, Song Chenxi took the umbrella with her free hand and completely sheltered Ruan Tang beneath it.
“Let’s hurry home.”
Ruan Tang reached for the bedding in Song Chenxi’s arms, but Song Chenxi shook her head and refused. She even tilted the umbrella farther in Ruan Tang’s direction.
Ruan Tang did not dare insist. She huddled beside Song Chenxi and walked back with her.
Before transmigrating, Song Chenxi had lived alone for many years. She had never fallen for anyone or formed an intimate relationship. Although she appeared naturally aloof and accustomed to solitude, she was terrified of thunder and lightning.
Just as they were about to enter the house, another bolt of lightning tore across the sky.
Song Chenxi screamed, startling Ruan Tang.
Her master had never revealed such a vulnerable side of herself before.
Song Chenxi set down the sheets and duvet cover and folded the umbrella. Although she herself was scared half to death, she first looked at Ruan Tang with concern.
“How are you? Did I frighten you?”
Ruan Tang hunched her shoulders and silently shook her head.
Compared to lightning, her master’s anger was far more terrifying!
Using the indoor light, Song Chenxi saw that Ruan Tang’s white T-shirt had been soaked through and now clung to her body. Her skin was faintly visible beneath the fabric, which had become as sheer as cicada wings. Her thin body appeared soft, slender, and unbearably fragile.
Forgetting her own fear, Song Chenxi said gently, “Ruan Tang, hurry and take a bath. Otherwise, you’ll catch a cold.”
Ruan Tang was uncertain whether this was another test. She continued shaking her head and answered slowly, “No. Master should bathe first. I-I’m… I’m fine.”
Knowing that the stubborn little Omega would not obey, Song Chenxi went to the bathroom and returned to the living room with a clean white bath towel.
“Ruan Tang, come here.”
Smiling gently, she beckoned toward Ruan Tang, who remained rooted in the entryway.
Ruan Tang did not dare disobey. She approached Song Chenxi one step at a time.
“Come on. Turn around.”
Anxiety spread throughout Ruan Tang’s body like ink dissolving in water.
She was afraid to turn her back on her master.
Her master would sometimes bite her without warning. She would seize Ruan Tang by the throat, pin her against the dressing table, and force her to watch her own humiliated appearance.
Would her master use the bath towel to cover her face from behind this time, suffocating her?
Ruan Tang painfully turned around and tightly closed her eyes, preparing herself for the torment.
But Song Chenxi merely used the towel to dry Ruan Tang’s hair. Then she loosely wrapped it around her from behind.
“Be good. You bathe first.”
After her bath, Ruan Tang hopped into the living room on one foot. Dressed in pajamas and surrounded by lingering warmth from the water, she tentatively called, “Master?”
No one answered.
Then she heard noises coming from the kitchen.
She approached the glass door and cautiously leaned against the frame to wait.
Her master, who had never lifted a finger to perform household work… was cooking?
Ruan Tang did not understand.
Song Chenxi happened to turn her head and spotted the person beside the glass door.
She beckoned for Ruan Tang to enter.
Ruan Tang quietly slid open the glass door, lowered her head, and slowly approached until she stood a meter away from Song Chenxi.
The scent was familiar.
It was spicy ginger.
Ruan Tang stood silently to the side, neither daring to make a sound nor take another step forward.
When the little Omega remained silent, Song Chenxi chuckled softly.
“How is it? Do you feel more comfortable now?”
Her shirt clung to her body, clearly revealing the seductive black strap of her bra.
When she spoke, her damp brown curls swayed slightly. Worried that rainwater would drip from her hair, Song Chenxi repeatedly dried it with tissues.
“Mm. I feel better, Master.”
Ruan Tang’s voice was soft, with a faint nasal quality at that moment.
“That’s good.”
Song Chenxi lifted the lid from the pot. The faintly sweet fragrance of ginger immediately grew stronger.
“I made ginger and brown-sugar tea. The brown sugar balances the ginger’s spiciness, so it shouldn’t taste too bad.”
Ruan Tang listened attentively. Although her eyes appeared exhausted, she forced herself to look interested.
She was afraid the Alpha might become angry and throw the scalding tea over her.
“Ruan Tang, this can disperse stagnation, drive out the cold, and release the exterior.”
Seeing confusion pass through Ruan Tang’s eyes, Song Chenxi immediately explained, “Simply put, it can help prevent a cold.”
Ruan Tang pursed her lips and looked exceedingly obedient.
Song Chenxi took out two bowls and poured the tea into them.
“This one is yours, and this one is mine.”
Ruan Tang accepted her bowl and took a sip. It was so hot that she immediately stuck out her tongue.
Song Chenxi did not know whether to laugh or cry when she saw Ruan Tang’s flushed face and protruding tongue.
“It’s hot, you little fool.”
As she spoke, she placed a clean spoon in Ruan Tang’s bowl.
“Drink slowly. I’m not going to take it from you.”
To accommodate Ruan Tang, Song Chenxi deliberately slowed her speech as well.
Her mouth was still the original Song Chenxi’s, and her voice remained unchanged.
The difference was that her tone now contained boundless gentleness and affection.
Ruan Tang’s ears involuntarily turned red.
