After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Vicious Female Supporting Lead - Chapter 29
The three of them finished their meal around 1:00 PM. Looking down at the floor below, the other two seemed to have finished as well.
Ran Lie was bored, playing with her fingers, while Xia Yiran had taken his hat off to count his falling hair.
Tang Ziqian rested one foot on the crossbar under the table. “Let’s get out of here. If we stay any longer, Xia Yiran is going to start plucking his hair to count it.”
Lin Qiyan couldn’t hold back a laugh.
Mu Yunge set down her chopsticks. “Let’s go.”
Lin Qiyan asked, “Where to?”
Mu Yunge smiled at her and winked. “A maze.”
Tang Ziqian clapped her hands in satisfaction. “Typical of you.”
The maze was quite a distance away, located in a large amusement park on the other side of town. They didn’t plan on taking a car, though; since it was early, a leisurely stroll seemed like a good choice.
Lin Qiyan walked in the middle, with Tang Ziqian and Mu Yunge on either side, forming a literal valley.
Because of the heat, Tang Ziqian wore dark green denim overalls over a white sleeveless top. One strap hung loose, making her look even more unapproachable—it gave off a vibe of arrogant disdain.
She casually glanced at a reflective wall by the road, giving a live report with great interest: “They’re still behind us. Xia Yiran just tugged at his hat. Honestly, if I didn’t dislike male Omegas, that type of guy would really make me want to ‘conquer’ him.”
Lin Qiyan gave her a shocked look.
[The female lead protagonist (Gong)… is she really this wild?]
Mu Yunge ignored her nonsense. “What about Ran Lie?”
Tang Ziqian: “Behind Xia Yiran, wearing sunglasses and a mask. Tsk, is she afraid people won’t know she’s stalking him?”
“Besides, why is Ran Lie even following Xia Yiran?”
Lin Qiyan: “Maybe… family ties? Or for her mother?”
Mu Yunge: “Yan Yan, are you thirsty?”
The topic shift was so abrupt that Lin Qiyan paused before noticing a milk tea shop right in front of them.
Tang Ziqian complained, “I’ve already given up on asking why you don’t care if I’m thirsty.”
Mu Yunge glanced at her, then quickly shifted her gaze back to Lin Qiyan. “Let’s buy a fruit tea, Yan Yan.” Before Lin Qiyan could answer, the other girl added pitifully, “I’m so thirsty.”
Lin Qiyan sighed and nodded.
[Can we please drop this paper-thin ‘fragile’ persona?]
Mu Yunge curled her lips. Occasionally wearing it was quite fun, and it yielded twice the result with half the effort.
The three turned into the milk tea shop. Tang Ziqian naturally ordered a very sweet milk tea, while Mu Yunge ordered two fruit teas. The shop was air-conditioned and very cool.
Tang Ziqian sat on a chair with wheels, kicked off the floor, and slid to the door to scan outside. She kicked herself back, her face full of mischievous interest. “Xia Yiran is gone; I bet he’s in the shop next door. Ran Lie is still outside baking in the sun.”
This shop was connected to the one next door. They were in the left one, and the shop Xia Yiran was in was along their inevitable path. Soon, the three drinks were ready. They stepped out of the shop.
The chain-stalking pattern resumed. Tang Ziqian occasionally looked back to see Xia Yiran trying to hide by pulling down his hat, or Ran Lie pressing herself against the wall in fright. She laughed heartily. She indulged this malicious interest several times, always stopping just at the limit so the people behind wouldn’t get suspicious.
Mu Yunge walked with her hands in her pockets, her expression neutral.
They finally arrived at their destination around 3:00 PM. The whimsical park gates towered high, decorated with various animated characters. The three beautiful girls standing there were exceptionally eye-catching at the busy entrance.
Mu Yunge stepped inside first. Lin Qiyan and Tang Ziqian followed closely.
Inside was far more interesting than outside—cute, beautiful, quirky, and incredibly dreamlike scenes that were previously only seen in movies and cartoons were now vividly alive before their eyes. It was breathtaking. Amidst the clamor of the crowds were sounds of firecrackers and fountains reflecting the sunlight, creating golden ripples.
Through the misty spray, staff members in mascot costumes were friendly and kind. Laughter was constant, and the voices of cartoon characters intertwined. Lin Qiyan couldn’t stop looking around.
Tang Ziqian had been here many times, so it wasn’t new to her. She maintained her high-cold image, hands in her pockets, her gaze dismissing everything. Mu Yunge walked at a moderate pace, making sure she and Lin Qiyan were on the same line.
Not far away, a group of girls and boys gathered, excitedly discussing the trio and egging a companion on to go up and flirt. Soon, a girl dressed very cutely trotted up to Mu Yunge. Her face was flushed, and her voice was soft: “H-hello. Excuse me, could I… get your contact info? Please?”
The girl’s large eyes were watery as she looked expectantly at Mu Yunge.
Lin Qiyan felt the atmosphere of “free female-female romance” firsthand for the first time since coming to this world. She consciously took a step back to minimize her presence.
Mu Yunge narrowed her eyes and suddenly smiled. “Sorry, I’m taken.”
She shifted her step, grabbed Lin Qiyan’s hand, and forcefully interlocked their fingers. She began her “drama queen” performance: “Yan Yan, believe me, I only like you. I won’t add anyone else.”
Lin Qiyan had passively become Mu Yunge’s girlfriend. She was stunned, and her squeezed hand felt a bit of pain. Her mouth twitched as she forced a smile. “I’m so sorry. I don’t really like her being this… flirtatious.”
Mu Yunge rested her head on Lin Qiyan’s shoulder and lowered her eyelashes, looking quite aggrieved. “Yan Yan, I was wrong. Next time we come out, I’ll wear a mask, okay?”
Lin Qiyan screamed internally.
[Big boss, please be normal!!]
She suppressed her shivers and said as calmly as possible, “It’s fine, I’m not angry.”
The girl was stunned. She sheepishly withdrew her hand. “Sorry, I wish you two happiness.”
After saying that, she turned to the trembling, laughing Tang Ziqian beside them. Her eyes sparkled. “Um, can I get to know you instead?”
Tang Ziqian’s laughter froze. Her eyes darted around until they landed on Lin Qiyan, and an idea took shape. She let out a soft sigh, her face full of hurt. “To tell you the truth, I’m secretly in love with her… but she’s already taken.”
The girl’s eyes widened. “By who?”
Under Lin Qiyan’s increasingly horrified gaze, Tang Ziqian’s finger pointed accurately at her.
The girl’s expression was complex. “Then you coming out with them is…”
To be a third wheel?
Tang Ziqian clenched her fist, her expression resilient and unyielding. “If I can’t have her, I definitely can’t let them have it easy. I believe that one day, she will understand my devotion, abandon her current partner, and throw herself into my arms.”
Lin Qiyan: “…”
[Damn it, you’re all drama queens!! Can’t you pick someone else for your roleplay!!!]
Mu Yunge: “…”
She looked away.
The girl: “…I wish you a speedy fulfillment of your desires.” Her silhouette as she walked away was very resolute.
After she reunited with her companions, there was a flurry of chatter. The whole group threw strange looks at the trio. Lin Qiyan vaguely saw one person’s lips move, seemingly saying three words: “They’re all crazy.”
Lin Qiyan: “…”
Mu Yunge pulled back to a normal distance with an unfazed face. Tang Ziqian resumed her high-cold persona. “Let’s go.”
Lin Qiyan: “…”
She was too tired to even complain. A world where only one person gets hurt was achieved. She didn’t even want to think about how the two following them would react to this scene.
The park was huge. Along the way, Lin Qiyan saw various dream-like castles, princesses, and princes. After walking for about an hour, they finally reached a specific building. Lin Qiyan looked at the somewhat eerie decor and swallowed unconsciously.
Mu Yunge: “The exit is on the other side, a long distance away.” She casually scanned the area behind them, her mischievous streak stirring again. “They will definitely follow us in.”
Tang Ziqian had already taken the lead and walked in. Lin Qiyan was still hesitating when Mu Yunge took her hand, winked, and smiled. “Yan Yan, don’t be afraid. If you’re really scared, just close your eyes and I’ll lead you. We can exit midway if we have to.”
The goal was to lure those two in and hopefully lose them; whether they made it to the end didn’t matter. Tang Ziqian looked back, watching Mu Yunge act all “gentlemanly” with great amusement.
Lin Qiyan looked at her and nodded. Mu Yunge comfortingly rubbed the inside of her wrist. The two walked in together.
The world went dark instantly, with only faint glimmers of light from the floor and ceiling. Lin Qiyan realized it wasn’t just a maze; there were mirrors, and if you were “lucky,” you could find mysterious objects. Feeling the warmth from her wrist, she relaxed slightly.
The mirrored floor beneath her feet felt half-real and half-illusory; reaching forward, she could only touch cold glass. Mu Yunge found the way easily. After several turns, the dim light and mirror reflections caused Xia Yiran to lose his target quickly.
Since they hadn’t run into anything scary yet, Lin Qiyan felt relieved—until she looked up and came face-to-face with a pair of hollow eyes weeping blood. A woman in red with shriveled skin was reaching out from the mirror as if to grab something. When the entity locked eyes with her, its body suddenly surged with strength, lunging forward and slamming against the glass.
Lin Qiyan heard the sound of the mirror cracking clearly. She turned her head in a panic, only to see the same image reflected everywhere. she even saw spiderweb cracks appearing on the glass surface. She froze on the spot.
The next second, a warm hand covered her eyes. Mu Yunge’s crisp voice rang out. “Yan Yan, don’t look.”
Lin Qiyan finally regained some of her senses. Mu Yunge kept her hand there as they moved forward, her voice constantly whispering comforts in her ear. Tang Ziqian was nowhere to be seen.
Lin Qiyan gradually relaxed, no longer as terrified as she was at first. Just as she was about to say she was okay, a sound erupted—thump-thump-thump—coming from beneath their feet. Lin Qiyan felt the ground vibrate. Her body stiffened once again. Mu Yunge found it quite amusing.
When the two emerged, they were a bit disheveled. Lin Qiyan’s bun was a mess of loose hairs, and Mu Yunge had to straighten her clothes—Lin Qiyan had been so scared she gripped her shirt in a death grip.
Tang Ziqian was sitting in a rattan chair under a sunshade, legs crossed while drinking milk tea, wearing sunglasses she’d gotten from who-knows-where. Seeing them come out, she lowered the glasses slightly. “Finally out.”
The late-afternoon sun was setting, igniting the clouds until the sky burned like fire, the scorching sun hanging on at the horizon. Xia Yiran and Ran Lie had been successfully lost. The three stayed there until nightfall, saw the blue fireworks, watched the night scenery and performances, and finally headed back contentedly.
The familiar path was sparsely populated. Tang Ziqian rested her head on her hands. A little boy suddenly darted out of nowhere and ran into her. Without saying sorry, he scrambled away in a panic.
Tang Ziqian sneered, “He sure runs fast.”
Mu Yunge looked at her. “Where’s your phone?”
Tang Ziqian fumbled around her person and cursed. “Shit!” she said with annoyance. “I still have stuff in there I haven’t backed up.”
Mu Yunge pointed into the distance. “Call the police.”
