My Omega Is A Top Heavenly Master (GL) - Chapter 13
Warmth enveloped Qin Xiyao.
She comfortably found a place against Mu Baicheng’s chest, nestled there, and slowly opened her eyes.
Her hands tightened.
It was obvious who had rescued her after she lost control of herself.
Didn’t she abandon me?
Why did she appear again?
Cultivating the Dao of Questioning the Heart had left Qin Xiyao naturally cold. Whether in their previous life or this one, Mu Baicheng’s body had always been so warm.
Qin Xiyao greedily clung to that warmth and wrapped her arms around Mu Baicheng’s waist.
She no longer wanted to think about their previous life.
Question the heart, question the heart…
Yet the only heart Qin Xiyao could not question was her own.
“Are you feeling better?” Mu Baicheng asked weakly.
Why had she suddenly fainted earlier?
Could the cold have caused it?
“Mm.”
Qin Xiyao nuzzled Mu Baicheng’s neck.
“Don’t you dislike me getting close to you?”
“Do you know what you looked like just now? Your entire body was covered in ice! I couldn’t think of any other way. If you want to hit me for it, I have nothing to say.”
“Why would I hit you?”
Qin Xiyao pressed herself as close to Mu Baicheng as possible.
Strangely, no matter how much Qin Xiyao rubbed against her this time, she could not obtain even the slightest trace of magical power.
She raised her head and looked at Mu Baicheng’s pale face.
Mu Baicheng appeared exhausted.
Is she too tired for me to draw any more magical power from her?
“I’m much better now.”
Qin Xiyao slipped out of Mu Baicheng’s embrace. Ignoring the Alpha’s flushed face, she pulled her clothing back down over her chest.
“Cough, cough… Could you at least pay attention to—”
“Did you pay attention when you were holding me?” Qin Xiyao immediately retorted.
She did not want to argue with Mu Baicheng about these matters now.
The most important thing was finding Mr. Liu as quickly as possible.
Qin Xiyao beckoned to Dudu, who obediently ran over.
She reached into the air with her slender hand, and a silver-white pill appeared between her fingertips.
Dudu’s eyes shone when it saw it.
This was a sacred object condensed inside a Quasi-Saint’s spiritual sea—the Primordial Daluo Pill.
Although it was tiny, a single pill was equivalent to a thousand years of merit.
Qin Xiyao fed the silver pill to Dudu.
Dudu swallowed it in one bite, then raised its nose and sniffed the air.
It could smell so many different scents now.
Unfortunately, it did not know which one belonged to Liu Sheng.
Qin Xiyao took out the watch Liu Suhong had given her.
It belonged to Liu Sheng.
Dudu leaned closer and sniffed it.
“Woof! I know where he is!”
“Lead me to him.”
Qin Xiyao and Dudu could communicate through their spiritual seas, which was considerably more convenient than communicating through Mu Baicheng.
Dudu walked in front while Qin Xiyao and Mu Baicheng followed.
Qin Xiyao cast a light spell, instantly illuminating their surroundings.
Mu Baicheng breathed a sigh of relief.
At last, they would no longer need to stumble around in the dark.
Heaven only knew how inconvenient it was to walk without seeing anything.
The two proceeded side by side until Dudu led them to a room on the second floor.
“Woof!”
Dudu barked warily toward a dark corner.
Qin Xiyao coldly glanced at the edge of a white skirt protruding from the shadows.
“Miss Song, there’s no need to hide. The illusion has been broken, and that creature has also been injured.”
“You truly are impressive.”
Holding a bronze compass, Song Jinran emerged from the corner.
She did not possess an advantage like Dudu. She could only use the Dragon-Seeking Compass her master had given her to locate Mr. Liu.
“What do you plan to do, Miss Qin?”
Looking at the door emanating black energy, Song Jinran put away her compass, folded her arms, and stepped aside as though preparing to enjoy a show.
The room was filled with dense yin energy.
Song Jinran did not dare open the door. Such energy could prove fatal even to Daoist practitioners.
Qin Xiyao turned her wrist, and a longsword appeared in her hand.
Mu Baicheng stared blankly at it.
A radiant silver phoenix adorned the blade.
However, the phoenix looked slightly different from the one Mu Baicheng had seen in the illusion.
The phoenix in her vision had been far more flamboyant and commanding. The one before her now appeared to be lying dormant.
That woman really had been Qin Xiyao…
But why?
Whom did she resent so deeply?
Silver magical power danced through the air. The sword traced an elegant flourish, as though performing a graceful dance.
With a thunderous crash, the door burst open.
“Disperse.”
The instant Qin Xiyao spoke, the black energy inside the room vanished like smoke.
Liu Sheng lay unconscious on the floor.
Qin Xiyao’s legs weakened.
As expected, she had consumed too much power.
After calculating carefully, she determined that completely resolving the problem here would require at least five hundred years of magical power.
Yet she could currently obtain far too little from Mu Baicheng.
She could not afford a prolonged battle today.
“Strip it away. No blame.”[1]
Qin Xiyao held the sword behind her back and pointed a bent finger toward the space between Liu Sheng’s brows.
Dudu raised its head and released a long howl, assisting Qin Xiyao and saving her a considerable amount of magical power.
Liu Sheng’s eyelids trembled before slowly opening.
“It’s you.”
He had seen this Omega at Donghu Park.
It was also because of her that his daughter had completely severed contact with that scumbag.
Liu Sheng unsteadily rose to his feet.
“Please save my wife.”
The man was very tall, yet at this moment, he lowered his head before Qin Xiyao.
Qin Xiyao sighed and helplessly shook her head.
“Not today.”
Liu Sheng asked anxiously, “Why? She’s in danger right now. She has lost her mind.”
“I know,” Qin Xiyao interrupted coldly.
All of them had suffered injuries of varying severity.
“We will return in three days. I will establish a formation that can protect your wife until then.”
This was already the best solution available.
Liu Sheng did not continue pestering her. He thought that if necessary, he could contact second-generation disciples from the Celestial Masters’ Residence for assistance.
He therefore agreed to Qin Xiyao’s proposal.
Silver light flashed through Qin Xiyao’s hand, and the longsword disappeared.
She formed seals with both hands.
Ten streams of magical power spread outward with Qin Xiyao at their center.
“Returning by the proper path—its meaning is auspicious.”[2]
The ten streams descended in ten different positions.
Song Jinran narrowed her eyes as she watched Qin Xiyao work.
This was not a Daoist method of establishing formations.
Daoism emphasized the Four Symbols and Eight Trigrams. A formation would ordinarily be established from eight positions.
Why was Qin Xiyao using ten?
Once the Ten Directions Formation settled into place, the surrounding baleful energy became still.
With her yin-yang eyes, Song Jinran could see how it flowed.
Qin Xiyao truly was extraordinary.
The Ten Directions Formation trapped the baleful energy perfectly, leaving no openings through which it could escape from the mansion.
Qin Xiyao’s body swayed.
Mu Baicheng quickly reached out and steadied her shoulders.
“Are you all right?”
Qin Xiyao’s small face was deathly pale.
She nodded wearily.
“I’m fine. Hold me.”
This time, Mu Baicheng did not refuse.
Although she had little strength remaining herself, she still swept Qin Xiyao into her arms and carefully held her against her chest.
“Mr. Liu, let’s leave.”
“But my wife—”
“Have you considered your daughter?” Mu Baicheng asked coldly.
She could not stand Liu Sheng’s indecisive behavior.
Qin Xiyao had already made herself perfectly clear. They would return in three days and resolve the matter.
“Give her some time to rest.”
Mu Baicheng carried Qin Xiyao away, with Dudu obediently following behind them.
As they passed through the entryway, they found several disciples from the Celestial Masters’ Residence lying unconscious in the corridor.
“Dudu, save them,” Qin Xiyao said weakly from Mu Baicheng’s arms.
Mu Baicheng’s face darkened.
“Look at your condition, yet you still want to worry about them?”
“Weren’t you afraid of offending the Celestial Masters’ Residence? I don’t want to create this kind of karmic debt.”
“There’s really nothing I can do with you.”
Mu Baicheng shook her head.
“Dudu.”
“Woof! Woof!”
Hearing Mu Baicheng call it, Dudu happily spun around twice.
It truly felt much closer to Mu Baicheng than to Qin Xiyao.
Dudu approached the disciples and howled twice.
The baleful energy in the entryway was not particularly dense, so the group quickly regained consciousness.
“You…”
Huang Zhengyan stared at Qin Xiyao in disbelief.
Qin Xiyao no longer had the strength to speak with him.
She leaned weakly against Mu Baicheng.
“Our wager isn’t over. We’ll continue in three days.”
Mu Baicheng did not spare Huang Zhengyan a glance.
If not for this man, Qin Xiyao might have waited until she was more thoroughly prepared before coming here.
Mu Baicheng had previously seen Qin Xiyao collapse in a dark alley and witnessed her weakened state.
Yet even then, Qin Xiyao had not looked like this.
When Mu Baicheng carried her home that night, Qin Xiyao had still possessed enough strength to embrace her.
Now, however, the person in her arms felt as light as a feather, as though she might disappear at any moment.
Mu Baicheng quickened her pace.
She passed through the blue irises and stepped outside the estate.
The instant she crossed the gate, the surrounding darkness faded, and the setting sun shone across her face.
“Qin Xiyao, we’re outside.”
The person in her arms did not answer.
Mu Baicheng’s heart lurched.
A chill traveled up her spine, and unease consumed her.
“Qin Xiyao! Wake up!”
“What happened?”
Hearing her shout, Liu Suhong hurried over and saw Qin Xiyao’s weakened condition.
“Take her to the hospital immediately!”
Mu Baicheng seemed not to hear her.
She stared blankly at the person in her arms.
“Qin Xiyao… Yaoyao, wake up.”
“You’re so noisy,” a weak voice complained.
Qin Xiyao was simply too tired and wanted to sleep for a while. Yet these two refused to leave her alone.
She turned her head and once again fell asleep in Mu Baicheng’s arms.
“Sister Mu, stop making so much noise. Yaoyao wants to sleep,” Qin Xiyao mumbled.
Mu Baicheng did not hear her clearly.
Seeing Qin Xiyao sleeping peacefully, Mu Baicheng finally relaxed.
“Thank goodness. She’s only tired.”
“Miss Mu.”
Liu Sheng emerged from the estate in a disheveled state. His suit was in disarray, and half of his tie had been torn away.
“I’ll wait for both of you.”
“Oh,” Mu Baicheng replied indifferently.
“You needn’t worry about compensation. Would ten million yuan be enough?”
Ten million?
Under ordinary circumstances, Mu Baicheng’s eyes would have shone at the amount.
But as she looked at the weakened Qin Xiyao in her arms, she knew that if the money had to be exchanged for Qin Xiyao’s well-being, she could never agree.
“We’ll discuss it after Qin Xiyao wakes up.”
Mu Baicheng rose with Qin Xiyao in her arms and turned toward Liu Suhong.
“Can you take us home?”
“Of course. Are you certain she doesn’t need to go to the hospital?”
Mu Baicheng rolled her eyes.
“Don’t you know her situation? Can she go to a hospital? Besides, she’s only exhausted.”
“All right.”
Liu Suhong remembered that Qin Xiyao was still undocumented. Taking her to a hospital would indeed create trouble.
They could observe her condition overnight. If she had not recovered by tomorrow, Liu Suhong could call a private doctor.
“Honghong, please help your friend,” Liu Sheng said. “Your mother is still inside.”
Liu Suhong froze.
She had not realized that her mother had failed to escape.
Her condition must have been dire, or her father would not have shown such an expression.
“Don’t worry. Xiyao won’t ignore her.”
The setting sun sank toward the horizon as the three began their journey home.
In her daze, Qin Xiyao saw Mu Baicheng gently caressing her cheek.
She looked so much like that person.
Have you returned?
She was so tired.
Having all her magical power drained felt unbearable.
“Mu Baicheng.”
“Mm? You’re awake?”
Mu Baicheng lowered her head and saw Qin Xiyao’s pale face.
Qin Xiyao’s gaze settled upon Mu Baicheng’s lips.
She wanted to ask whether Mu Baicheng could kiss her.
