A Cannon-Fodder Omega’s Self-Saving Guide - Chapter 17
Although Xia Weichen sensed that Yin Yin was passively resisting, it was only after quite a while that she finally separated from Yin Yin.
However, her gaze never left Yin Yin. Tender affection spread from the depths of her eyes, as if a cloud of soft smoke had wrapped Yin Yin within it.
At that moment, she was very grateful for the pheromone disorder caused by the car accident.
After all, if one’s feelings truly grew deep, it would be almost impossible to hold back and not release pheromones. But she knew very well that what she was doing was only superficial work. Actually letting Yin Yin mark her was not part of her plan.
“Sister.” She lowered her voice, making it sound soft and gentle. “Is Sister unwilling to be intimate with me? Sister and I haven’t known each other for only one day anymore.”
Strictly speaking, it had not been that long either. But when Yin Yin had been willing to help her block Lin Langruo’s disaster, that was already enough for her to use as an excuse.
Her gaze landed on Yin Yin’s eyes, then shifted to Yin Yin’s full lips. She was like a naturally indulgent little fox, making it impossible to know when she might strike. A single glance from her could stir someone’s heart into chaos.
Clearly, Yin Yin, who had never experienced anything in this area before, had already begun to feel somewhat at a loss.
“Miss Xia.” Yin Yin steadied herself. Her eyes once again regained their usual distant indifference, but only on the surface. The icy coldness that usually kept people thousands of miles away had now faded considerably. “If your work is finished, it would be better to go back as soon as possible.”
“Sister—”
Xia Weichen narrowed her eyes and dragged out the last syllable. Her voice sounded a little vague, but the ambiguity and teasing within it had increased by an unknown number of times. Then she lowered her eyes and slowly leaned her head closer to Yin Yin’s shoulder, saying softly:
“Does Sister want to avoid me?”
Naturally, Yin Yin could not say that directly.
She sighed lightly. “Miss Xia, in the office, doing this kind of thing… it wouldn’t be good if others saw.”
Xia Weichen tilted her head. “Then does Sister think it would be fine if we weren’t in the office?”
“…”
Sensing Yin Yin’s resistance, Xia Weichen let go of her and took half a step back, as if nothing had happened just now.
Then a smile rippled in her eyes. “I’m just teasing Sister. Don’t take it seriously.”
As she spoke, she opened the door to the lounge beside them and went in to change. The lounge was connected to the office and did not lead to any other room, so she was not worried about anyone coming in.
She changed into the white dress she usually wore. She had just been about to pull up the zipper on the back when she suddenly thought of Yin Yin outside the door, and a faint trace of mischief flashed through her eyes.
“Sister, can you come in and help me pull up the zipper?” Xia Weichen raised her voice slightly, just enough for Yin Yin to hear.
Yin Yin did not answer her, but very soon, Xia Weichen heard light footsteps. Yin Yin had probably silently agreed.
She held her breath and silently counted the seconds in her heart.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds…
She heard the sound of the half-closed door opening, but very quickly, she could feel the gaze behind her freeze slightly. After that, there was no sound.
Without turning around, she could tell that Yin Yin was most likely frozen in place. From the fragments of the plot and some of her own investigations, most people described Yin Yin with words like dangerous, mysterious, and unfathomable. This was completely different from her understanding of the current Yin Yin.
Or perhaps other people simply did not dare tease Yin Yin as boldly as she did.
“Sister—” Xia Weichen made her voice even softer, like a clingy yet timid kitten that only curled into a ball and meowed, too afraid to approach.
Only then did Yin Yin seem to wake from a dream, quickly walking toward Xia Weichen.
The zipper was completely open. Although her long hair fell down and slightly covered it, most of her back was still exposed before Yin Yin. The skin partly hidden beneath her hair had little color to it, smooth and clean like a piece of white jade.
Its touch was also cool and warm like jade.
Although Xia Weichen’s figure was slender, the bones of her back were not very prominent. The faintly raised curves carried a delicate beauty. If Yin Yin’s self-control had not been extremely strong, she almost suspected that she might reach out and touch it at any moment.
Yin Yin closed her eyes and slowly pulled the zipper up. When she opened her eyes again, that jade-like skin and bone had already disappeared from before her.
She let out a slight breath of relief and lowered her eyes. “Miss Xia, it’s done.”
“Thank you, Sister.”
Xia Weichen adjusted the shoulder straps and quickly draped a shawl over herself. She smoothed her long hair with one hand, hiding the shoulders and back that had just been completely exposed before Yin Yin.
Although it was for points, after teasing Yin Yin for so long, she did feel somewhat embarrassed.
Moreover, she was also afraid of the point deduction the system had warned her about, caused by excessive intimacy.
Indeed, teasing Yin Yin was rather fun. But fun was fun; there still had to be a limit. When something was not entirely mutual but not resisted, a smaller scale was called flirtation, but if the scale became too large, it was called acting like a hooligan.
Seeing Xia Weichen’s reaction, Yin Yin felt that she had probably overthought things. Perhaps Xia Weichen’s original intention really had only been for Yin Yin to help her pull up the zipper, without any other thoughts.
But very quickly, she noticed Xia Weichen’s hand silently climbing onto her shoulder.
“Sister.” When she turned her eyes, she saw the smile in Xia Weichen’s gaze. It was very warm, but it did not contain any hidden seductive meaning. “Thank you for coming to pick me up. Otherwise, every time I see other people at the company coming and going in pairs, while I’m all alone and pitiful, I get so jealous.”
Although Yin Yin heard the hidden meaning in Xia Weichen’s words, before she could answer, she heard Xia Weichen’s slightly embarrassed voice:
“Then can Sister come pick me up more often in the future? If Sister comes to pick me up, you can also help me avoid some meaningless pestering from other Alphas.”
Although she had not publicly announced her separation from Lin Langruo, and the sales associates who had seen her conflict with Lin Langruo last night probably did not dare spread it, the news that she and Lin Langruo had broken up still uncontrollably began to circulate. By now, quite a few Alphas in the circle wanted to add her on WeChat, trying to take advantage of the situation.
Of course, Xia Weichen rejected them all without hesitation. She knew that most Alphas in the circle played around a lot. Who knew how many Omegas they kept in secret? Judging by the frequency of those people trying to add her, she even suspected that some Alphas might be treating her as some kind of bet—whoever got her first would be considered the winner.
“There are other Alphas pestering you?” Yin Yin’s eyes darkened slightly. “Who? Or is it Lin Langruo?”
“She hasn’t come yet.” Xia Weichen sensed Yin Yin’s seriousness. She smiled, wanting to lighten the atmosphere. “They’re all young Alpha masters and misses from the business circle. They probably think I can’t survive without an Alpha…”
Her words suddenly stopped.
Although she and Yin Yin did not have an actual relationship, in the end, Yin Yin was still an Alpha too. And she had been the one who had taken the initiative to pursue Yin Yin.
It did indeed look somewhat like she could not live without an Alpha.
She lowered her head slightly and embarrassedly buried her cheek against Yin Yin’s shoulder. “Of course, Sister is the exception.”
Yin Yin did not answer.
But that also properly eased Xia Weichen’s slight embarrassment.
The two walked out of the office together. Some employees who had not yet gotten off work recognized Xia Weichen. Seeing the woman beside her with her hat pulled very low, they could not help whispering among themselves.
Although they could not see Yin Yin’s face clearly, they could completely tell from her figure that she was an Alpha. And this Alpha was not Lin Langruo, whom they knew.
Although there had already been rumors before that President Xia Jr. and President Lin had broken up, most of them had not believed it. In their eyes, Xia Weichen and Lin Langruo had an excellent relationship and had no reason to break up at all. But now, seeing Xia Weichen walking so close with another Alpha, they could not help suspecting the possibility.
“Miss Xia didn’t ask me to come here just to tell your employees that you and Lin Langruo have already broken up, did you?” After entering the elevator, Yin Yin could not help asking in a low voice.
There were only the two of them in the elevator. Xia Weichen turned her head, stared at Yin Yin’s face, and slowly blinked once.
“Isn’t this good? Publicly admitting my private life is not my habit.” As she spoke, she supported her forehead with one hand and sighed softly. “But if this happens, the possibility will probably spread online very soon. When that time comes, I’ll have to trouble Secretary Chen to help me remove the trending search again.”
In truth, trending searches had less influence on her than they did on currently popular celebrities. She simply felt that having her private life placed online for the public to judge was not a good thing.
“It is indeed tiring,” Yin Yin commented fairly.
She remembered that when she had still been in university, she had somehow offended a classmate and been slandered on the school forum. Although the rumor had been refuted very quickly, for a long time afterward, every move she made was watched by people. Being followed and trailed became common, and the photos taken of her would circulate on the forum again. She had spent a great deal of effort hacking in to delete the posts. Only after more than half a year did the storm barely pass.
Compared to ordinary gossip-minded discussion, Yin Yin disliked malicious judgment even more. As long as there was the slightest impropriety, it would be exaggerated endlessly.
Just as she was lost in thought, Xia Weichen’s faint voice sounded beside her ear:
“Sister, tonight I want to stay in the same room as Sister…”
Yin Yin raised her eyes and happened to meet Xia Weichen’s gaze. Xia Weichen’s eyes were full of sincerity and pleading, without any complicated elements visible.
At this moment, Xia Weichen’s makeup was very light. Her pale pink lips opened and closed, looking very much like peach blossoms in the spring breeze.
“…Is that okay?”
