Chapter 25
After Qin Shiyue finished massaging her waist, Chu Siyun could not sleep anymore.
Her body felt uncomfortable, but she did not want to get up, so in the end, she somehow spent the entire day in bed.
After dinner, Qin Shiyue cleared the bowls and chopsticks onto a tray. As she picked it up, she complained about Chu Siyun’s terrible behavior of lying there doing nothing.
“This is how you treat me?”
Chu Siyun put down her phone and revealed an eight-toothed smile. “Thank you! You’re simply too great! Having you is my good fortune!”
Qin Shiyue smiled back at her.
Chu Siyun smiled too. A sincere smile.
Boring.
Qin Shiyue put away her smile and carried the things out.
Later, Qin Shiyue went to the study. As expected, assembling keyboards was more interesting, especially assembling a new keyboard.
After installing the switches, Qin Shiyue found a matching set of keycaps.
Just as she was about to continue, someone knocked on the study door.
Before Qin Shiyue could even speak, the door was opened.
It was as if the knock had merely been to notify her in advance, not to ask for her permission.
Qin Shiyue held a keycap in her hand, looked at the woman by the door, and asked, “Something the matter?”
Chu Siyun limped a few steps forward. “Yes. I’m here to show you that I can walk now.”
Qin Shiyue nodded. “Very impressive.”
Then she lowered her head and continued installing the keycaps.
Chu Siyun slowly walked closer and said, “Repairing a keyboard?”
Qin Shiyue said, “Mm. This is my main profession.”
Chu Siyun cooperated. “Haha.”
After half a minute, Qin Shiyue was still seriously installing keycaps.
Chu Siyun rested her arm on Qin Shiyue’s shoulder and lifted the leg with the sprained ankle. “I’m tired.”
Qin Shiyue did not even raise her head. “Caution sails the ship for ten thousand years. Go back to bed and lie down.”
Chu Siyun was dissatisfied. “Tsk. Are you doing this on purpose?”
Qin Shiyue finally moved, but only to reach for another keycap.
Chu Siyun continued being dissatisfied. “I’m not even as attractive to you as a keyboard.”
Qin Shiyue said, “Mm. You’re very valuable.”
???
Chu Siyun asked, “What the hell?”
Qin Shiyue installed the last keycap in her hand, then raised her head to look at the person beside her. “A person’s value lies in having self-awareness. You’re very valuable.”
Chu Siyun: …
Change the topic.
Chu Siyun said, “Why is there only one chair?”
Qin Shiyue stood up and gave the chair to the injured person.
Chu Siyun sat down beautifully. It was quite comfortable.
Qin Shiyue pushed her aside with force, then dragged a new chair over from behind a certain cabinet.
“Now there are two.”
Qin Shiyue continued installing keycaps.
Chu Siyun sat beside her and watched. With one press, the keycap would lock into place. It was a little magical.
After a while, Chu Siyun finally could not hold back anymore. “I want to try too.”
Qin Shiyue pushed the keyboard base over and handed her one keycap, only saying, “Be gentle. If it doesn’t fit, don’t force it.”
Chu Siyun held that tiny keycap and played with it. “Do you really like this?”
Qin Shiyue glanced at the wall beside them, which was full of keyboards, and asked in return, “What do you think?”
Chu Siyun had already clearly seen the structure of the keycap.
It was actually very simple, just like putting together Lego blocks. She only had to align it properly.
She believed she had aligned it correctly and was just about to press down when someone held her hand.
Chu Siyun: ???
With this posture, Qin Shiyue controlled her hand and moved it into position. “S is to the right of A, not below it.”
Then, like an adult holding a child’s hand to teach them how to write, Qin Shiyue held Chu Siyun’s hand and installed a keycap.
Qin Shiyue lightly pressed the S key. “Done. It’s installed.”
Chu Siyun turned her head, her eyes shining as she looked at Qin Shiyue. “You’re so amazing! You installed it right away.”
“Cough, cough.” Qin Shiyue straightened up and coughed twice to cover herself. “I’m a professional keyboard repairer.”
“Hahahaha.” This time, Chu Siyun laughed from the heart. She pointed at the keyboards on the wall beside them and asked, “How long did it take you to make all those?”
The entire wall was filled with keyboards covered in dust covers, in all kinds of colors and sizes. There were also many little parts. Qin Shiyue really did seem to like them.
Chu Siyun realized that she truly knew too little about Qin Shiyue. She had to slowly walk into Qin Shiyue’s world.
As Qin Shiyue continued installing keycaps, she answered, “I started in university.”
Chu Siyun nodded and began searching for information related to mechanical keyboards.
The two of them each busied themselves with their own things. After a while, Chu Siyun moved her injured foot a little. “I’m tired. Can I put my foot on your leg?”
Qin Shiyue glanced sideways at her. Seeing that her ankle was still bruised and swollen, she could not beat her own soft heart and contributed her leg.
So there were this many details to keyboards! Her horizons had been broadened!
After understanding the basics, Chu Siyun went onto a shopping site to search for things she could give Qin Shiyue.
After a long time, Qin Shiyue finally finished assembling the keyboard.
She opened the computer, preparing to test it, when she suddenly felt a chill on her stomach.
That person had taken a mile after being given an inch and had stuck her foot under Qin Shiyue’s shirt.
The problem was that the foot under her shirt was injured. Qin Shiyue did not dare meet force with force and directly pull it out, afraid she would cause a second injury.
“Get out.”
Chu Siyun wore a victorious smile. “No.”
Qin Shiyue threatened her with her eyes.
Chu Siyun was not afraid at all and even moved her toes.
This was no longer a matter of taking a mile after being given an inch.
This was pressing her dignity as an alpha onto the ground and grinding it underfoot.
Qin Shiyue held Chu Siyun’s calf, making sure not to hurt her, then shifted to the side and stood up.
“What are you trying to do?”
Chu Siyun propped her elbow on the desk and supported her face, trying to pull back the leg Qin Shiyue was controlling. She failed.
She changed into a smiling face and said, “It’s time to sleep.”
Qin Shiyue furrowed her brows. “Tsk. Are you doing this on purpose?”
Chu Siyun’s smile was extremely punchable. “Yes.”
Qin Shiyue gently let go of Chu Siyun’s leg, walked in front of her, and braced both hands on the armrests of the chair, trapping Chu Siyun in the little space formed by herself and the chair back.
“Is this how you pursue someone?”
After a whole day, Qin Shiyue was finally willing to face this question directly.
Chu Siyun had nagged about it for an entire day before Qin Shiyue dared face the very thing she herself had suggested.
Chu Siyun provoked her. “Has anyone else pursued you before?”
Qin Shiyue did not speak.
Chu Siyun said, “Other people’s methods won’t succeed. Mine can. Believe me.”
Qin Shiyue gently pushed her backward. “Wang Po selling melons and praising her own goods.”
The chair hit the corner of the desk and stopped. Chu Siyun steadied herself and accused, “How can you be like this?”
Qin Shiyue sat back down properly and connected the keyboard to the computer. “You, sit quietly. Don’t talk. I’m testing the keyboard. Otherwise, go back to the bedroom.”
Fine. She would not talk.
Chu Siyun lightly clenched her back teeth.
Half an hour later, Qin Shiyue turned off the computer.
Chu Siyun stood up and slowly walked to Qin Shiyue’s side, turning her chair a little so Qin Shiyue faced her directly.
Qin Shiyue’s gaze was calm, as if she had already prepared herself for what was about to happen.
Chu Siyun did not hesitate either. One hand grabbed Qin Shiyue’s collar, while the other braced against the armrest to keep her balance. She bent down and kissed her.
Qin Shiyue enjoyed it very much, but just as she stretched out her tongue and prepared to take the initiative, she was bitten. It hurt a little.
Chu Siyun was pushed away.
That person actually still remembered to take her injury into account. One second she pushed her away, and the next second she supported her, afraid she would fall.
Chu Siyun gave a soft laugh. “I did it on purpose.”
Qin Shiyue held Chu Siyun’s waist and lifted her onto the desk, kissing her back as if taking revenge.
Later, Chu Siyun felt that her tongue had gone numb, but she could not retreat or push Qin Shiyue away. Qin Shiyue was too strong, pressing down on the back of her head and leaving her nowhere to hide. She could only endure it.
When they separated, Qin Shiyue’s breathing was frighteningly heavy.
She placed Chu Siyun’s legs around her waist, preparing to carry her.
But Chu Siyun did not cooperate.
Qin Shiyue’s voice was hoarse. “What’s wrong?”
Chu Siyun leaned beside her ear and said softly, “Here.”
Qin Shiyue paused, then smiled. “You said that yourself.”
Chu Siyun heard a dangerous flavor in her words.
She wanted to take it back, but it was too late.
Qin Shiyue sat in the chair, her hand lightly playing with the bottom button of Chu Siyun’s pajamas.
Once she had played enough, she unfastened it, then moved her target to the second button from the bottom.
Too slow.
Chu Siyun’s face grew hot. She felt like a plaything, held in someone’s hand.
And yet she had brought all of this on herself.
Today, every step Qin Shiyue took was very slow.
So by the end, Chu Siyun held onto her for a very long time before finally recovering.
She would never act up again.
The two of them showered together.
After showering, Chu Siyun collapsed on the bed, while Qin Shiyue went to clean up the study.
Chu Siyun logged into her side account and browsed Weibo to check public opinion.
Qin Shiyue probably did not like being cursed.
Forget Qin Shiyue—no person liked being cursed.
When they first went public, being scolded was unavoidable.
But the second time was the production team’s fault.
After that incident, Chu Siyun had her team warn the production team not to pin the blame on Qin Shiyue for the sake of heat.
Chu Siyun had specially arranged for Bi Qiujun to control public opinion a little.
Let public opinion naturally develop in a better direction.
Right now, they could only interfere slightly. Once the show aired, that would be the time to exert force.
Reality shows could lift someone up, but they could also very easily destroy a person. This all depended on post-production.
Qin Shiyue had chosen to expose herself to the public eye for the good of their family.
Chu Siyun believed she had a duty to do what she could.
Right now, there were still many unfavorable voices toward Qin Shiyue, because back then, the production team had intentionally let everyone think Qin Shiyue’s goal was to become popular.
If they controlled it too forcefully, it would look fake and would only receive even harsher abuse.
Chu Siyun had confidence in Qin Shiyue. She had performed very well during recording, and she would definitely slowly be whitewashed.
Before sleep, after turning off the lights, the two of them lay in bed and talked about the recording.
Chu Siyun said, “The next episode is in Yazhou.”
Qin Shiyue said, “That’s pretty good. It’s by the sea, farther south, and warm.”
Chu Siyun said, “We’re going by self-drive.”
Qin Shiyue was surprised. “What?”
They were in Shencheng, more than two thousand kilometers from Yazhou.
Chu Siyun explained, “They want to film a self-driving trip. They definitely won’t make us drive that far.”
Qin Shiyue was a little worried. “Self-driving means there’ll be a lot of variables.”
Chu Siyun asked, “How are your driving skills?”
Qin Shiyue thought about it. She should be asking about the literal meaning, right?
“I’ve had my license for over five years and driven on highways before.”
Chu Siyun said with satisfaction, “Then that’s fine. You’ll drive when the time comes. I’m… average.”
Qin Shiyue asked, “Did the production team say where exactly we’ll start driving from and where we’ll end?”
Chu Siyun said, “No. Everything is random.”
