After Transmigrating as the Scumbag Alpha in an Otherworld Novel, I Ended Up with the Villain - Chapter 27
Wang Qingyue, sensing the awkward atmosphere, quickly waved her hand. “I’ll pass.”
Flanked by the others, Su Xinge could only say helplessly, “Fine, fine. Let’s all go up together.”
The four of them headed toward the stairs.
Hearing the conversation, Zhang Tian said excitedly, “Can I go up too? I haven’t had a tour of the second floor yet!”
Wang Qingyue, walking at the back of the group, said, “You guys don’t need to come up. The patient needs rest. Stay down here and discuss how to deal with those ambushers we caught.”
Zhang Tian curled his lip and pointed grumpily. “What’s there to discuss regarding those small-time punks?”
Wang Qingyue didn’t answer and turned to go upstairs.
Ye Hai took the rope Su San had found and said, “There are things to discuss. Didn’t you say there’s still one lone ambusher out there who hasn’t been caught?”
Zhang Tian snorted coldly. “Just one punk. I doubt he can cause much trouble.”
Ye Hai shook his head. “It’s a long-range attacker. That kind of method is too hard to guard against. Just like Su Xinge getting hurt today—in short, it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
At the second-floor entrance, Xiang Tiange pulled out a key to open the door. Luckily, she had planned ahead this morning and taken the key out; otherwise, it would have looked strange to be seen pulling a key out of a wall crevice now.
Pushing the door open, the first thing that came into view was a wide, open area.
Xiang Tiange explained, “We cleared this out. We usually use it for training.”
Lin Yuxuan looked around and remarked, “It doesn’t look like a place where people live.”
Xiang Tiange nodded and explained with a smile, “Correct. It wasn’t originally meant for living; it used to be a place for handling administrative chores.”
Lin Yuxuan nodded. “No wonder.”
Wang Qingyue, leading the way, saw the others slowing down and urged them, “Stop looking. Let’s finish treating the wound first. Don’t forget the main task.”
They crossed the hall and entered a corridor. Rooms lined both sides, but most doors were closed, hiding the interiors. At the end of the corridor, Wang Qingyue opened the second-to-last door and said, “You two go in first. I’m going to grab the medical kit from the next room.”
Xiang Tiange led the two inside. Against the right wall near the door was a long horizontal table, and at the far end was a very high bed.
Xiang Tiange explained, “This was originally an office desk from this building. We converted it into a bed. It’s a bit hard, but it’s sleepable.”
Lin Yuxuan nodded. “It’s just a bit high.”
Xiang Tiange turned to Su Xinge and said, “You’ll be recovering here for now. The environment is a bit more comfortable than downstairs.”
Su Xinge took a deep breath, walked a few quick steps, and collapsed onto the bed.
A moment later, Wang Qingyue walked in carrying a medical kit. She said to Lin Yuxuan, “The basic supplies in here are complete. Help her apply the medicine. Call us if you need anything else.”
Wang Qingyue had already assumed Su Xinge and Lin Yuxuan were a couple, so she didn’t stand on ceremony with Lin Yuxuan. Besides, since there were no other Alphas here, having Lin Yuxuan help was the best choice.
Lin Yuxuan nodded and said, “Alright. Thank you.” Although she didn’t like these two, she was currently a guest under their roof and had to be polite.
Wang Qingyue went to the desk, took some tissues from a drawer, and said, “There are disinfectant wipes and water here. You can clean your hands first.”
Lin Yuxuan nodded in understanding. Xiang Tiange turned and nudged Wang Qingyue. “Let’s go. We’ll head out first.” The two left and closed the door behind them.
After washing up, Lin Yuxuan walked to the bed, opened the medical kit at the foot of the bed, and said to Su Xinge, “Lie down properly.”
Su Xinge had only been resting her upper body. Hearing Lin Yuxuan, she gritted her teeth, obediently took off her shoes, and climbed onto the bed.
Once Su Xinge was lying flat, Lin Yuxuan carefully peeled back the soaked hem of her shirt—it was hard to tell if it was sweat or blood. The wound wasn’t deep, but it was quite long; it was hard to say if it would leave a scar.
Even in the apocalypse, Su Xinge’s cleanliness was evident from the inside out—from her body to her face. Lin Yuxuan hadn’t found a single flaw yet. It seemed a pity for such a clean body to have a scar, but then she thought: Actually, a scar might be good. It might stop this person from going out and harming other Omegas.
“Why did you stop?” Su Xinge asked curiously when she felt no movement on her back.
“Moving now.” Lin Yuxuan steadied her mind, moistened some cotton cloth with saline, and carefully began dabbing the wound.
“Mng…” Su Xinge grit her teeth, but the pain in her back still forced a small cry from her.
Lin Yuxuan slowed down. “Does it hurt? I’ll go slower.”
“Gentle, but keep a normal pace.” Cold sweat began to bead on Su Xinge’s forehead, and her facial muscles twitched. Better to get it over with quickly. If she slows down, who knows how long I’ll have to endure this?
“Understood.” Lin Yuxuan lightened her touch, but her speed became more efficient.
Trying to be both fast and gentle was difficult, but Lin Yuxuan had treated her own wounds many times in her previous life; this level of difficulty didn’t stump her.
“Mng…”
“What? Still not gentle enough?” Lin Yuxuan stopped, frowning. She felt she had made her movements as light as possible.
“It’s enough.” Su Xinge buried her face in the darkness of the bed.
The wound was painful, but Lin Yuxuan’s touch wasn’t just on the injury; the surrounding uninjured skin began to feel itchy. The mix of itching and pain was a terrible sensation—absolute torture.
Outside the room, Xiang Tiange and Wang Qingyue looked at each other, their faces turning red. The faint moans from the room, combined with the dialogue, made it hard not to let their imaginations run wild.
Xiang Tiange’s gaze was suspicious. She muttered, “Didn’t they say she was injured? Why does this feel… off?”
Wang Qingyue avoided her gaze. “Stop talking nonsense. Their medicine-applying technique probably just isn’t very practiced.”
Xiang Tiange gave a mysterious smile and nodded. “Right. That must be it.”
“A bit heavier.”
“Okay.”
“Mng… no, gentler. Just a bit gentler.”
“Understood.”
…
The two outside turned to face the wall, pretending they couldn’t hear.
Xiang Tiange looked at the ceiling and whispered to herself, “Is this content we’re allowed to hear for free?”
Wang Qingyue looked at her feet and replied, “It’s a bit sweet, actually.”
Xiang Tiange nodded. “I’m shipping it. But listening to those sounds, I feel like Su Xinge might be a bit… weak?”
Wang Qingyue countered, “No way. Regardless, she’s still an Alpha.”
Xiang Tiange sighed. “I said it was just a feeling.”
Wang Qingyue nodded. “True. But your feelings are never accurate.”
Xiang Tiange glared at her. “Bah! Yours are the ones that aren’t accurate!”
Inside, Lin Yuxuan applied the medicine with gentle movements. “Luckily the wound isn’t very deep, otherwise you’d need stitches.”
“Don’t say it. Just the thought hurts,” Su Xinge said in a muffled voice, enduring the strange sensations on her back.
Lin Yuxuan slowed down her pace. “Really? Rare for an Alpha to admit they’re afraid of pain.”
Su Xinge explained, “I don’t cry out in pain in front of just anyone. Aren’t we… quite close?” Close enough that in this world, I only really know Lin Yuxuan.
Lin Yuxuan smiled faintly. “Are we close?”
Su Xinge pouted and asked back, “We’ve already kissed. Is that not close enough?”
Lin Yuxuan couldn’t help but increase the pressure on her hand. Hearing those words made her inexplicably angry. The things Su Xinge had done to her were still vivid; it was impossible for her to be completely without hatred.
“Ouch! Sister… I’m joking! I didn’t mean it like that!” Su Xinge yowled in pain.
“Who’s your sister? It wouldn’t help even if you called me ‘Grandma.'” Despite her words, Lin Yuxuan’s grip loosened.
“I just feel like we’re close in terms of our souls,” Su Xinge said, realizing her previous answer was improper given their complicated relationship.
“Is that so?” Lin Yuxuan curled her lips, looking self-mocking.
Su Xinge nodded repeatedly. “Yes! How old are you? Maybe you really are my older sister.”
“Twenty-eight,” Lin Yuxuan answered. In this life, her physical age was indeed twenty-eight. But if she added her previous life, she couldn’t even count how old she was.
“Then I’m older than you! That means you have to call me ‘Sister,'” Su Xinge said, trying to distract herself from the physical pain. (Based on her age in her original world, she was definitely older than Lin Yuxuan).
“What? You actually want me to call you ‘Sister’?” Lin Yuxuan finished applying the medicine and stowed the supplies.
“I didn’t say that…” Su Xinge whimpered, playing the victim. She discovered that talking to Lin Yuxuan was a great painkiller.
“Then lie still. I need to wrap the bandages.” Lin Yuxuan took the roll from the kit.
“Okay.” Su Xinge nodded and stopped moving or talking.
“It might hurt a little. Bear with it.” Lin Yuxuan carefully laid the bandage over the wound. Su Xinge remained silent.
Lin Yuxuan fixed one side of the bandage, wrapped it toward the right edge, and then stopped. She had covered the wound, but it wouldn’t stay fixed like that. She had to wrap it all the way around the body—front to back—to secure it. But Su Xinge was currently lying flat against the bed, and Lin Yuxuan didn’t dare move her body recklessly for fear of tearing the wound.
Lin Yuxuan leaned over, hovering directly above Su Xinge. One hand held the starting position of the bandage on the left, while the other moved slowly beneath her on the right.
“Lift your body slightly. I’m afraid if I pull too hard I’ll hurt you,” Lin Yuxuan said.
Her words fell right into Su Xinge’s ear, as light and soft as a feather. Su Xinge obediently lifted her torso. Since the bandage was already covering the back, she didn’t dare make any large movements.
Seeing this, Lin Yuxuan used her right hand to hold the bandage in place and reached her left hand under Su Xinge to grab the other end. The further her hand reached, the closer their bodies became. Lin Yuxuan’s fingertips accidentally brushed against skin—a soft, smooth sensation traveled through her hand.
So soft. Feels nice.
Want to get closer. Want to press tight…
Lin Yuxuan’s movements slowed down unconsciously. She could hear a heartbeat thumping like a drum, but she couldn’t tell if it was her own or the person beneath her. Her sweet pheromones leaked out slightly without her realizing it; the atmosphere in the room turned thick with ambiguity.
Su Xinge buried her face in the bed again, her face flushed red. The fragrance from behind enveloped her, feeling inches away. Lin Yuxuan’s slow movements sparked a fire in her heart; she had always been ticklish, and Lin Yuxuan’s slow pace was agonizing. But Su Xinge didn’t dare say a word.
Right then, the door opened.
Xiang Tiange pushed the door open to see this exact scene: Lin Yuxuan half-draped over Su Xinge, whose body was visibly trembling.
“Um, sorry to interrupt, but Teacher is having a bit of an emergency. We need something from the medical kit.” As she spoke, Xiang Tiange walked up to them and took a small bottle from the kit.
Lin Yuxuan accelerated her movements, tossing her impractical thoughts aside. She had clearly loathed this person before, yet she had unconsciously leaked pheromones just now. She felt angry at her own lack of resolve.
“Sorry! You guys continue!” Xiang Tiange turned and bolted out the door, quickly locking it behind her to catch her breath. I actually smelled pheromones! I never dreamed I’d walk in on such an intense scene. And Su Xinge really might be ‘weak’—she was actually on the bottom!
Xiang Tiange took a few deep breaths outside before returning to the teacher’s room. She didn’t want Wang Qingyue to see her acting flighty and tease her again.
Inside, Lin Yuxuan finished the bandage and stood up, pretending nothing had happened. “Done.”
“Thank you,” Su Xinge’s voice was somewhat raspy. It was unclear if it was from being muffled by the bed or for other reasons.
“I’m the one who should be saying thank you. After all, you got hurt because of me.” Lin Yuxuan put the kit back on the desk. “If you don’t want to stand up, just lie there for a while.”
“I’ve been smelling your pheromones lately,” Su Xinge said hesitantly. “Are there side effects from that medicine you took before?”
She was truly worried about Lin Yuxuan’s health. Since she had needed two pills to see any effect when the instructions said one, she wondered if there was a problem with the drug itself.
Lin Yuxuan clenched her fists, gritting her teeth. “What? Do you want to apply medicine for me too?”
She thought Su Xinge was mocking her—that she couldn’t even apply bandages without trying to seduce her. In the eyes of most Alphas, an Omega was just a machine controlled by the desire of estrus. Lin Yuxuan could lower herself to seduce on purpose, but she hated being thought of as a fool who couldn’t control her own instincts.
“I don’t…” Su Xinge shook her head frantically. She didn’t want to re-experience that feeling again. Besides, she’d just finished her own treatment; she wouldn’t need a change for another two days.
“If you don’t want to, then talk less. Don’t you know you need rest when you’re injured?” Lin Yuxuan turned to her, her gaze stern.
“I just wanted to care about your health,” Su Xinge whispered a quiet explanation. She didn’t know why Lin Yuxuan was suddenly so angry when she had been incredibly gentle while bandaging her. Women are fickle until the day they die, and Lin Yuxuan especially so.
“Take care of your own body first before you worry about others.” Lin Yuxuan’s face showed disdain, but her heart warmed.
Su Xinge’s voice after being injured sounded quite unique—there was a sincerity mixed with a sense of being wronged that was hard to ignore. Lin Yuxuan realized she might have misunderstood her.
Su Xinge stared at the wall in a daze, saying nothing. The wound was beginning to throb, and her mood inevitably sank with the pain. Although she had had her share of bumps and bruises in her old world, she had never been hurt this badly. In this world, injury would likely be a daily occurrence; one had to guard against monsters and humans alike.
Seeing Su Xinge fall silent, Lin Yuxuan sat down on the edge of the bed and asked in a softer tone, “How is it? Does it still hurt?”
She felt a bit guilty. After all, Su Xinge had protected her. Looking back, Su Xinge hadn’t actually harmed her since the rebirth. She found the sight of Su Xinge lying motionless on the bed somewhat amusing; in her memory, Su Xinge was always full of life. How did she end up in such a pathetic state?
Su Xinge buried her head in the bed again and said piteously, “It hurts…”
The pain was real, and the sense of being overwhelmed was real. She didn’t want Lin Yuxuan to see her like this; it was a bit embarrassing for a grown adult to keep crying about pain.
“I’ll go ask them if they have painkillers.” Lin Yuxuan stood up to leave. She hadn’t seen any in the kit, so she wondered if they were kept elsewhere.
“No.” Su Xinge turned her head and reached out to grab Lin Yuxuan’s wrist. “I don’t want painkillers. I hate taking medicine.”
Every medicine is part poison. Su Xinge had been sick often as a child and hated taking medicine more than anything.
“Why are you so hot?” Lin Yuxuan was shocked by the heat radiating from Su Xinge’s wrist. The weather wasn’t hot, and even if she was tired from running, she shouldn’t be this hot after resting for so long.
Su Xinge shook her head, her eyes full of confusion. “I don’t know.” She felt like her body was as soft as a marshmallow.
Lin Yuxuan leaned over and pressed her hand to Su Xinge’s forehead.
“It is a bit hot, but…” Lin Yuxuan stopped mid-sentence and jerked her hand back, standing up abruptly. “What are you trying to do?”
She had just caught a whiff of a crisp, sweet spring-water scent. It was faint—it was Su Xinge’s pheromones. It was the scent that could drag an Omega into an endless descent into hell.
Su Xinge realized something was wrong with her body. She struggled to turn her head away from Lin Yuxuan, saying with great restraint, “I’m not doing anything. You… go out.”
She gripped the bedsheets so hard the veins on her hands and forehead bulged.
Lin Yuxuan looked at the trembling person on the bed and asked with a frown, “Is your Heat (Sensitive Period) coming early?”
The pheromones in the air grew even thicker.
“I don’t know,” the person on the bed answered with a sob, sounding pushed to her absolute limit.
Lin Yuxuan’s heart sank. Su Xinge was definitely having an early Sensitive Period. She turned and walked out, closing the door behind her. Staying any longer would only lead to trouble.
Wang Qingyue was waiting outside. Seeing Lin Yuxuan emerge with a flushed face, she wanted to ask something but felt it inappropriate, so she just gave a dry, silent smile.
Lin Yuxuan suppressed the strange sensations in her own body and asked, “Do you have any Alpha Suppressants?”
If she were in the base, it wouldn’t matter much; once the door was closed, no one could smell it. But the rooms here were close together, the doors were full of cracks, and there was an injured person next door. She didn’t know how many people the leaking Alpha pheromones would affect, let alone those on the communal floor downstairs.
Wang Qingyue was stunned. “We don’t have any Alphas here.”
Lin Yuxuan explained urgently, “Su Xinge’s Sensitive Period is early. She’s in a bad state.”
Understanding the implications, Wang Qingyue replied quickly, “I’ll go look. Since the three of us aren’t Alphas, I don’t know if any previous Alphas took those supplies with them.”
Wang Qingyue hurried into the former clinic room while Lin Yuxuan waited. A moment later, Wang Qingyue ran out holding a small bottle. “I couldn’t find the packaging, and there’s no expiration date. I don’t know if it’ll work, but let’s try it. If the pheromones leak out, everyone will suffer. Our teacher is an Omega too, and she’s right next door.”
Lin Yuxuan nodded and took the medicine.
Wang Qingyue added hesitantly, “If you need any help, just call us. I’ll be waiting out here.”
Usually, an Alpha in their Sensitive Period is soothed by their Omega. Since Lin Yuxuan was out here looking for suppressants, it meant the soothing hadn’t worked—or rather, that these two weren’t actually a real couple, and her previous guesses were wrong…
Lin Yuxuan nodded and turned back into the room.
Next door, Xiang Tiange stepped out. “Having a Sensitive Period trigger in front of so many people is really…”
Wang Qingyue sighed. “Let’s hope the medicine works. Otherwise, if an Awakened Alpha goes out of control, this building is likely doomed.”
Xiang Tiange curled her lips. “There’s always another way. After all, I was quite happy shipping them.”
An Alpha soothed by an Omega and one without an Omega are two extremes during the Sensitive Period. Usually, the former becomes a clingy “milk-bread” crybaby, while the latter loses control and becomes extremely violent. The latter requires suppressants to return to normal.
Wang Qingyue said helplessly, “When are you going to stop your ‘watching the world burn’ attitude? Besides, they might not even be a real couple…”
Xiang Tiange looked away and said nothing. She didn’t tell Wang Qingyue what she had seen earlier. Such a heart-pounding scene wasn’t suitable for the “pure-hearted” Wang Qingyue to hear about.
Inside the room, Lin Yuxuan entered. The scent in the air was even thicker than before. The person on the bed was curled up in a corner, like a trapped beast that couldn’t find its way.
