After Transmigrating as the Villain Alpha, I Marked the Reborn Supporting Female Omega (GL) - Chapter 22.2
The doctor only explained why the Omega had a fever, not noticing Liang Manqing’s dark expression.
Liang Manqing said in a low voice: “I understand. You may leave.”
The doctor quickly left with his medical bag, fearing he might say the wrong thing and provoke the unsatisfied Liang Manqing.
Six hours later, Liang Manqing gave Qin Qin another dose of fever reducer. It wasn’t until evening that she showed signs of waking up.
Qin Qin was groggy. Her waist felt excruciatingly sore, as if it were about to break, and her nape also throbbed faintly.
She had been marked by the Alpha who held her waist down last night. Liang Manqing’s grip was very strong when restraining her waist, leaving a bruise on her fair skin afterward.
Hearing movement in the bedroom, Liang Manqing poured a glass of warm water and walked over. She sat by the bed and checked Qin Qin’s temperature with the back of her hand: “Your fever has broken. You slept all day. Are you hungry?”
After checking her temperature, Qin Qin’s already rosy face flushed deeper. She cleared her throat, her mouth dry: “I’m thirsty.”
“I poured you warm water.” Liang Manqing brought the glass to Qin Qin’s lips. The glass touched Qin Qin’s slightly parted lips, and the plain water slowly entered the Omega’s mouth.
Qin Qin licked her lips, moistening them.
Liang Manqing placed the glass on the bedside table: “Do you want to eat?”
She had slept for nearly a day and a night and was already hungry. Qin Qin propped herself up with her arms, and a wave of soreness shot through her abdomen: “Ugh…”
“What’s wrong?” Liang Manqing noticed Qin Qin’s face looked unwell: “Are you still uncomfortable?”
The Alpha clearly hadn’t realized the severity of the matter. Qin Qin whispered: “My waist is so sore.”
An Omega who is ill is soft and delicate, whining more sweetly than roses.
“Your waist… why would it be sore?” Liang Manqing vaguely remembered that there were no excessive actions other than the marking. Did she forget some detail?
“You were so rough last night, did you forget?” Qin Qin’s cheeks were flushed from anxiety, her ears were red, and she was more tempting than a ripe peach.
Liang Manqing asked uncertainly: “Was it rough?”
Seeing Qin Qin’s red eyes assent, Liang Manqing clenched her fingers, completely unable to recall what she might have done.
Three days later, Liang Manqing and Qin Qin checked out of the hotel and went to the hospital to visit Liang Xue.
Liang Manqing entered, holding her hands behind her back: “Guess what I brought you?”
Liang Xue, who usually only cared about studying, brightened up when she saw someone enter: “What did you bring? What did you bring?”
Liang Manqing produced a set of Five-Three practice books from behind her back: “Mhm, good stuff to help you get into college.”
“Ah… Is that how you are as a sister?” Liang Xue crossed her arms over her chest and glared: “You might as well not have come.”
“You little rascal, your sister got all of them.” Liang Manqing rubbed the child’s head: “I really brought you something else.”
Liang Xue turned her face away and scoffed: “I don’t believe you anymore.”
Qin Qin appeared from behind Liang Manqing, shaking a blind box: “Here. Didn’t you like these the most?”
“Wow! Teacher Qin is the best!” Liang Xue paused her hands from opening the blind box, looked up, and squinted her eyes: “Wait a minute. Why haven’t you two come to see me for five days? Aunt Tao said you didn’t go home either. Did you two secretly go on a trip?”
Qin Qin held her breath, feeling a sudden wave of guilt when Liang Xue asked that.
Liang Manqing gently tapped Liang Xue’s head: “What are you thinking about all day in that little head of yours? Focus on your studies, understood?”
Liang Xue yelped and dodged: “You’ll make me stupid if you keep tapping me.”
Avoiding Liang Xue’s mischievous, scrutinizing gaze, Qin Qin breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at Liang Manqing, whose words and actions were completely natural. She didn’t seem guilty at all; on the contrary, she was open and composed, as if the marking that night was merely to relieve their pheromones, with no other meaning.
Qin Qin felt a slight annoyance. She wanted more soothing and marking from Liang Manqing, and more concern.
Soon after, the tutor for all of Liang Xue’s subjects arrived.
Liang Manqing instructed Liang Xue to listen well and then pulled Qin Qin away with her.
Outside the hospital, Liang Manqing received a call from Shi Jia. A rehearsal was scheduled at the red carpet show venue tonight, and they needed to prepare to attend.
Many celebrity guests attended the red carpet show in the evening, but most were relatively unknown. The real heavyweights, who were very experienced in red carpet shows, didn’t need to rehearse at all.
In the car, Shi Jia prepared to unpack the dress for Qin Qin to change into. The beige strapless dress revealed her rounded shoulders and long, delicate neck. Her long hair was elegantly swept back, giving her the aura of a little princess.
Liang Manqing stood by the car, and Qin Qin placed her fair fingers on her outstretched hand as she stepped out. The two walked into the red carpet rehearsal venue together.
Shi Jia followed behind, gathering intelligence on the advantages of other celebrity guests.
In such rehearsal settings, guests typically wouldn’t show off the accessories and gowns they planned to use the next day. Qin Qin’s appearance drew the attention of everyone present.
Qin Qin gripped Liang Manqing’s hand, slowing her pace.
Liang Manqing encouraged her near her ear: “Don’t be nervous. I’m with you.”
The red carpet entering the venue was a full ten meters long. Accompanied by Liang Manqing, Qin Qin walked to the end under the scrutiny of many eyes.
Liang Manqing squeezed her palm: “You’re great.”
Qin Qin’s eyes were clear, and a blush spread across her cheeks: “Mhm.”
After trying the walk once, they were approached by Xia Jun and Lin Mian, who were smiling beautifully under the spotlight.
Lin Mian whispered something in Xia Jun’s ear. Xia Jun nodded and walked over, inviting Liang Manqing to the lounge for tea.
Qin Qin wanted to follow, but Lin Mian stopped her and said: “I’m a little nervous about tomorrow’s show. Could you keep me company and chat while we walk around?”
Lin Mian was slender and spoke softly, like a little lamb in need of help.
Qin Qin actually wanted to be friends with Lin Mian and was not guarded against her. She nodded and said: “I’m quite nervous too.”
Liang Manqing hadn’t walked far. She turned back and told Qin Qin and Lin Mian: “Why don’t you both come over? It’s cold outside.”
Hearing Liang Manqing’s voice, Qin Qin gathered her skirt and hurried over. After a few steps, she remembered Lin Mian and turned back to take her hand: “Let’s go in together.”
Lin Mian grudgingly hummed in agreement.
Qin Qin wasn’t sure what Liang Manqing and Xia Jun were discussing. She sat on a nearby sofa, watching Liang Manqing’s back somewhat distractedly, until someone blocked her view. She turned and looked up.
Yu Zhiting sat across from Qin Qin and smiled faintly: “Seeing you two here, I decided to come over.”
Qin Qin wasn’t very familiar with Yu Zhiting and only managed a forced smile in response.
Lin Mian introduced her: “Yu Zhiting and I are from the same company.”
Qin Qin knew this. Yu Zhiting’s entertainment company was small, having only fostered one famous artist—Yu Zhiting—over the years.
What puzzled Qin Qin was why Yu Zhiting hadn’t terminated her contract with her current company. Surely she and her team would have better opportunities elsewhere.
Qin Qin felt awkward sitting between the two: “You two talk. I’m going to the restroom.”
The show venue’s restroom was exquisitely decorated and smelled fragrant.
Qin Qin washed her hands and relaxed for a while, intending to go outside for a stroll, but she inadvertently overheard Yu Zhiting and Lin Mian talking around the corner.
Yu Zhiting asked quietly: “I like Liang Manqing, but what if she doesn’t like me?”
Lin Mian reassured her: “You’re so pretty. If you act a little pitiful, Liang Manqing will feel sorry for you.”
“But…” Yu Zhiting’s real concern was: “…”
Hearing that Yu Zhiting liked Liang Manqing and was planning to use pity to get close to her, Qin Qin frowned slightly.
The voices got softer. Qin Qin couldn’t hear, so she took a step closer. A rustling sound came from the leaves.
Lin Mian glanced sideways: “Who’s there?”
Qin Qin held her breath, carefully lifted her skirt, and quietly left, only exhaling when she reached the lounge and pretended to calmly drink tea.
When Yu Zhiting and Lin Mian returned from outside, Qin Qin smiled: “Where did you two go?”
Yu Zhiting and Lin Mian looked at each other. Lin Mian pulled Qin Qin’s wrist and sat down: “Just went out for some air.”
On the other side, Xia Jun and Liang Manqing had finished their conversation and were preparing to leave.
Yu Zhiting’s gaze followed them: “You two chat. I’m going to check on them.”
Yu Zhiting walked next to Liang Manqing, and after saying something, the two smiled simultaneously.
Qin Qin felt like she was sitting on pins and needles. Her slightly cold fingertips dug into her palms, worried that Liang Manqing was truly being tricked by Yu Zhiting.
Yu Zhiting was so beautiful. If she just acted spoiled and pitiful toward Liang Manqing, she might soften her heart.
Lin Mian was discussing tomorrow’s red carpet show next to her, but Qin Qin didn’t hear a word, her eyes fixed on the two walking side-by-side in the distance.
If they walked any further, they would reach the small woods.
Qin Qin’s mind was racing, and she felt anxious. Ignoring whatever Lin Mian was saying, she lifted her skirt and ran out.
Yu Zhiting seemed to notice someone approaching and quickly said goodbye to Liang Manqing: “Then, can I call you for help later if I need anything?”
Liang Manqing politely nodded.
Qin Qin’s hands involuntarily clenched. Seeing Yu Zhiting finally leave, she couldn’t help but grab Liang Manqing’s wrist and pull her forward.
Liang Manqing was pulled along aimlessly. She stopped: “That’s the woods ahead. Are we still going?”
The shadows of the trees blocked the light, casting a dark patch.
Liang Manqing was pulled forward another step by Qin Qin, pressed against a tree. Then, the little rose closed in and sealed her breath.
Liang Manqing suddenly stiffened, her lips being fiercely bitten.
