- After Transmigrating into a Scum Alpha, I Was Targeted by the Flirty Boss Omega
- Chapter 14 - Let's Break Up
An Lu never expected—
That person would show up at her house! This was truly a shock, not a surprise, and it happened right when Wen Min had been kind enough to drop her off!
The person in the living room was sprawled lazily on the sofa, feet propped up on the coffee table. Seeing An Lu’s astonished face, she leisurely curved her lips, seemingly enjoying her shock. She picked up a stemmed glass with two fingers, elegantly swirling the red wine inside, raised it to An Lu in a self-toast, and took a small sip. She wore a black baseball cap, the long brim shadowing her eyes, revealing only the lower half of her face. Her nose bridge was high, her lip line thin, and her jawline sharp, giving her an air of inaccessibility and arrogance.
If Wen Min took half a step inside, she would see the unwelcome guest hidden in the visual blind spot outside the door.
An Lu’s heart skipped several beats. She dodged the person’s gaze, quickly pulled the door shut, leaving only a narrow slit. She blocked the doorway, using her body to shield the rest of the room. As Wen Min’s gaze shifted, An Lu subtly adjusted her body, as if just protecting her privacy, or perhaps being so dominant that Wen Min could only focus on her.
“About that…”
This action made it seem even more like there was something unspeakable hidden inside. Wen Min frowned, suspicious but not showing it, and asked casually, “Don’t you need me to stay with you?”
She absolutely must not alert the enemy.
An Lu’s hand slowly moved to the doorknob, looking ready to close the door in the next second. She lightly massaged her forehead and whispered, “No need, I’m feeling a bit unwell…”
She couldn’t let Wen Min find out about her relationship with that person! Otherwise, all the goodwill she had earned with the baby would be completely wiped out.
Wen Min pretended not to understand her implied meaning, bracing her hand on the doorframe, and asked, “Do you want me to take care of you?”
Her movement made it seem like she was about to push the door open and enter the house. An Lu, startled, instinctively narrowed the gap in the door. She looked utterly flustered and subconsciously refused, “No need!”
Wen Min slightly narrowed her eyes, a complex emotion flashing beneath them. An Lu realized her blunder, feigned a relaxed demeanor, and opened the door a crack. Her hand gripping the doorknob was slick with cold sweat. “It’s fine, I just need to lie down for a bit…”
“It’s okay, I can postpone my plans…”
Before she could finish, Wen Min’s gaze inadvertently swept downward, and she suddenly noticed a pair of black sneakers in the entryway. Judging by the angle of the shoes, the owner was a casual person who hadn’t bothered to arrange them properly after kicking them off; the right shoe was even lying on its side. The shoes looked quite large, not An Lu’s size. She didn’t want to judge people maliciously, but An Lu’s chat history made her wary and urged her to be careful.
Could it be the “Dear” from the message earlier?!
An Lu seemed to notice Wen Min’s attention, so she subtly shifted her stance, rubbed Wen Min’s head, refocusing Wen Min’s attention back on her face, and said softly, “You’re tired, too. I’ll find you tomorrow.”
As she took a breath, Wen Min retracted her gaze, moved back slightly without changing her expression, not wanting any unnecessary contact with her. She didn’t push An Lu, saying gently, “Alright.”
She would wait outside. She didn’t believe she couldn’t wait for that person to come out.
After closing the door, An Lu’s hand trembled as she locked it. She felt that dealing with Wen Min had consumed too much energy and couldn’t immediately relax after dropping her guard.
The person on the sofa patted the spot next to her. Her thin lips parted, and her voice was devoid of emotion. “Come here.”
An Lu’s brows instantly furrowed. She nervously stared at the door, as if the person’s voice would attract attention from outside. She rarely disobeyed, so she lowered her voice and asked, “Why are you here?”
The person lifted her cap, revealing the distinctive, almond-shaped eyes beneath the brim. Her seemingly heartless lips curved into a slight, affectionate smile. “Didn’t I say I was going to give you a surprise?”
An Lu looked hesitant, as if words were stuck in her throat. If Wen Min weren’t here, her appearance would indeed be a surprise. After all, she rarely came to see her directly, so rarely that An Lu had forgotten she had given her a spare key to the house. However, at the time she gave it, she never imagined the person would actually use it.
But now things were different. Wen Min was finally going to treat her well. What if Wen Min came over next time and this person suddenly showed up?!
Seeing An Lu’s silence, the woman didn’t bother to ask what she was thinking, seemingly not caring about her feelings at all. Instead, she abruptly changed the topic and asked suddenly, “She believed it?”
An Lu slowly changed her shoes. Seeing the woman’s carelessly placed sneakers, she frowned tighter, then instinctively helped her straighten them and put them into the shoe cabinet. She said flatly, “Mhm.”
Wen Min must have seen them, right? I wonder if she’ll think too much…
As soon as the thought occurred, An Lu quickly dismissed it. If Wen Min were suspicious, she would be direct. She wasn’t the type to silently hold onto her doubts.
“Then there’s nothing to worry about.” The woman patted the spot next to her again. Looking at An Lu’s half-hearted, disobedient manner, she grew a little impatient. Her eyes darkened slightly, but her tone was relatively calm. “Hurry up and come over.”
An Lu walked over slowly, still not following the instruction. She stopped in front of the sofa, seemingly deliberately keeping her distance. She took several deep breaths, then did something she had never dared to do before: she voiced her thoughts to the person. “There’s something I want to talk to you about…” To prevent Wen Min from backing out, she had to appear as loyal as possible and avoid any entanglement with other Alphas in her life. After all, if she could stay with Wen Min forever, she would be set for life. This was a gamble with high risk and high reward.
The woman crossed her other leg, appearing to give no importance to An Lu’s words. She swirled her wine and said absently, “What is it, baby?”
“We should…”
Before An Lu could finish, the woman interrupted her with a non sequitur: “You’re the most beautiful.” This wasn’t a sudden shift in her thinking; it was her go-to way of soothing An Lu whenever she threw a tantrum. Now, it was a reflex that didn’t require much thought.
Though utterly insincere, the person on the receiving end always seemed to appreciate it.
But this time was different. Seeing the woman’s perfunctory attitude, An Lu, in a rare display, called her by her full name, sounding very serious. “Si Ying!”
Used to An Lu’s flattering terms of address, being called by her full name felt novel to Si Ying, but also signaled that something wasn’t right. She turned her cap to the back of her head, as if to more clearly scrutinize An Lu. With her cap reversed, the woman exuded a hooligan vibe, making any impolite action seem unsurprising in the next second. She focused on An Lu and asked, “What is it?”
“We should…” An Lu paused, secretly clenching her hands. “Break up.”
Si Ying laughed out loud as if she had heard something preposterous. “Break up?” No one had ever broken up with her. Which time hadn’t she been the one to end things first? She didn’t even need to notify them; they would just take a hint and disappear.
Who does An Lu think she is?
“Yes…” An Lu nervously swallowed. She knew the person’s temper but still wanted to voice her truest thoughts. Perhaps Wen Min’s gentleness had given her confidence. She looked at Si Ying and bravely said, “Please give me back the key.”
Si Ying rose from the sofa. Holding the glass of red wine, she slowly walked toward An Lu. Her imposing demeanor made An Lu’s heart pound wildly.
“You want to cut ties with me?”
An Lu backed away as Si Ying slowly approached. Her voice was weak, but her tone was firm. “I just feel that we shouldn’t continue this way…”
Si Ying slightly parted her lips, revealing the Alpha’s characteristic sharp canines. She licked them in a threatening gesture, staring at An Lu like a hunter eyeing prey, and sneered, “Do you actually think you can latch onto Wen Min? Baby, she’s a better actor than I am.”
An Lu stood her ground and politely repeated, “Please give me back the key, and then…” leave.
Before she could finish, Si Ying’s patience ran out. In a flash, she was a completely different person, her smile gone, her eyes cold and sharp. She said icily, “Are you serious?”
With her background, where did she get the nerve to say something like this?
“I…”
Si Ying wasn’t interested in her answer. Without waiting for her to finish, she violently threw the wine glass at An Lu, aiming for her most vulnerable spot, her lower abdomen.
An Lu seemed to anticipate her malicious act and quickly dodged.
With a loud clatter, the sound of shattering glass choked the air. The wine glass rolled to An Lu’s feet. Tiny glass shards scraped her skin, and a chilling sensation spread from her foot throughout her body. She widened her eyes in lingering fear. A flash of her first miscarriage ran through her mind. When she snapped back to the present, a thin layer of cold sweat covered her forehead.
Seeing that An Lu had successfully dodged, Si Ying seemed unsatisfied, sighing regretfully, “Tsk…”
Her violent and crude behavior was terrifying. An Lu hadn’t wanted to recall the shameful past, but this familiar feeling of dread relentlessly forced those memories into her mind.
If it were in the past, she would choose to keep the peace, as she had no other choice. But now, Wen Min seemed to be her anchor, making her feel that the baby’s existence was something to look forward to, and that she could finally find a sense of belonging.
Her eyes gradually reddened. She quickly picked up a shard of the glass, aiming it at Si Ying as if prepared for a mutual destruction.
