The Black Lotus Stole The White Moonlight [Rebirth] - Chapter 3
Bai An’an’s plan was simple: first, she would slip into the ranks of the servant disciples. Then, during the few days when Mu Tianyin patrolled the Five Peaks, she would find an opportunity to approach her.
After all, throughout the entirety of Mingxin City, only certain servant disciples on Anqi Peak were not officially registered.
The bustling world gathered in pursuit of profit, and its people scattered for the very same reason.
Mu Tianyin was the foremost leader of the righteous path, so Mingxin City was naturally a prestigious and renowned sect.
Every mortal beneath the heavens regarded entering Mingxin City and becoming one of its disciples as a great honor.
Those without spiritual roots, or whose spiritual roots were too weak, sought another path by choosing to become servant disciples.
There had been servant disciples in the past who caught the eye of an influential figure and were subsequently accepted as formal disciples of Mingxin City.
As a result, mortals of noble birth who lacked talent would bring their own attendants with them and become servant disciples.
They left the rough and strenuous labor to their attendants while they searched for other ways to cultivate.
Did the steward of Anqi Peak not know about this?
Of course he did. He merely turned a blind eye.
To ensure that nothing went wrong, Bai An’an concealed her appearance and slipped directly into the servant disciples’ ranks.
Ah-Huang was washing clothes in the backyard when she curiously glanced at Bai An’an, who sat nearby sorting vegetables with half her face concealed.
“Who are you? Why haven’t I seen you before?”
Bai An’an smiled with pursed lips. “I only arrived recently.”
Ah-Huang had only asked casually and did not take the matter to heart.
All sorts of people were mixed together in the servant quarters, with countless faces coming and going. Naturally, she could not remember every single one of them.
“Ah-Huang!”
Ah-Huang looked up and saw that her mistress was calling her. She waved goodbye to Bai An’an, then hurriedly rose and went to meet her.
Ah-Huang’s mistress wore a brown, close-fitting outfit. She had delicate features and had yet to reach her full height, looking only thirteen or fourteen years old.
She was none other than the girl Bai An’an had encountered behind the mountain.
The girl glanced at Bai An’an without paying her any particular attention, then led Ah-Huang away.
Master-and-servant pairs like this were hardly unusual in the servant quarters.
The master occupied a position as a servant disciple, while the family servant performed all the hard labor in her place.
Bai An’an’s lips curved into a smile as she lowered her eyes and stared at her fingertips.
In the Demon Realm, strength was everything. Without it, one would end up like these servants—trampled beneath someone else’s feet and exploited until death.
Suddenly, she detected a faint fluctuation of spiritual power. Her heart stirred, and she subtly glanced in its direction.
Of course. It was the beginning of the month—the time when Mu Tianyin disguised herself as a mountain guard and patrolled the Five Peaks.
At that thought, Bai An’an immediately shook the droplets of water from her hands, straightened her collar, and strolled toward the rear mountain.
Carrying a basket, Bai An’an passed through flowering shrubs and beneath trailing willow branches until she reached a clear stream.
She set down the bamboo basket, knelt beside the stream, and began washing her face.
The appearance of this body was far too striking and attracted too much attention.
If she entered the servant compound looking like this, she would inevitably invite trouble.
Therefore, she usually covered half her face with her hair while smearing the other half with gray-black dirt to conceal her luminous, pale complexion.
Now that she was about to meet Mu Tianyin, there was naturally no need to hide her appearance.
She placed her fingers against her collar and smiled radiantly at her reflection in the clear water.
Thus, when Mu Tianyin arrived moments later, what she saw was a slender young woman with her clothes half-undone and a delicate waist, lifting one bare foot to step into the water.
Bai An’an seemed to notice the movement behind her and abruptly turned around. When she saw a tall female cultivator with an exceedingly ordinary face, she bit down on her pearly teeth and assumed a frightened expression.
She twisted around to face Mu Tianyin as she fell backward toward the stream. Her fingers suddenly released her collar, allowing it to slip even farther down. With a splash, she plunged into the water.
Bai An’an knew Mu Tianyin would not be kind enough to come over and support her, so she had never counted on that in the first place.
She fell into the icy stream exactly as planned. Seeing Mu Tianyin frown at her, she pressed her lips together slightly and assumed a stubborn expression.
“Did he send you? Go back and tell him that even if I, Bai An’an, work myself to death in the servant compound, I will never submit to him!”
Mu Tianyin’s heart had remained perfectly calm when she saw the young woman’s appearance. However, upon suddenly hearing her name, she could not help frowning slightly.
“Your name is Bai An’an?”
Bai An’an lowered her eyes, concealing the flicker in her dark pupils.
Mu Tianyin walked to the stream’s edge and looked down at her.
“Come up.”
Bai An’an sat in the water, her wet hair clinging to her graceful collarbones. Her clothes had slipped down, leaving her shoulders and legs bare and completely exposed to Mu Tianyin’s gaze.
Her eyelashes trembled, and a faint blush spread across her cheeks. She said awkwardly, “I—I twisted my ankle—”
Mu Tianyin swept her sleeve and used a surge of spiritual power to yank Bai An’an directly onto the bank, showing no tenderness toward the delicate beauty whatsoever.
Abruptly dragged ashore, Bai An’an’s arms and legs immediately went weak, and she fell toward Mu Tianyin.
Mu Tianyin frowned and initially intended to evade her, but something inside her chest suddenly began seething, causing her movements to falter.
Bai An’an fell into her arms exactly as she had hoped and lowered her eyes with a smile.
Speaking of which, she really ought to thank Mu Tianyin’s wonderful disciple.
That Profound Yin blood had belonged to Bai An’an in the first place.
A trace of her Profound Yin blood still remained inside Mu Tianyin’s heart, leaving a vulnerability wide open for Bai An’an to exploit.
With that drop of blood inside Mu Tianyin’s heart, there were many things Bai An’an could do.
Bai An’an smiled faintly, her wet clothes clinging to her body.
She leaned bonelessly against Mu Tianyin and trembled in her arms.
Her slender fingertips rested lightly against Mu Tianyin’s chest as though reaching through flesh and bone to touch the trace of blood remaining inside her heart.
“Immortal, you told An’an to come ashore. What did you want with me?” Bai An’an raised her head to look at Mu Tianyin, tilting her gorgeous little face upward.
Her skin glowed as white as jade, and every one of her features was exquisitely proportioned.
“Who exactly are you…?” Mu Tianyin lowered her eyes and stared intently at her. Suddenly, she caught the scent of an unusual sweetness.
The fragrance vanished almost as soon as it appeared. Mu Tianyin paused, pushed Bai An’an away, then turned and left.
Bai An’an touched one finger to her lips and watched Mu Tianyin depart before lowering her eyes to stare at her fingertip.
A moment later, she raised her hand and gently inhaled the fragrance lingering there, a meaningful expression crossing her face.
That night, Bai An’an settled her puppet body onto the couch, returned to her spiritual form, and flew toward the City Lord’s residence.
Dressed in brilliant red, she descended into Mu Tianyin’s room.
As on every other night, Mu Tianyin had not gone to rest. Instead, she was using the nighttime hours to meditate and cultivate.
Bai An’an narrowed her eyes with a smile and formed a hand seal. In an instant, she transformed into a streak of spiritual light and entered the space between Mu Tianyin’s brows.
The fragrance she had placed upon Mu Tianyin during the day was Soul Fragrance, which drew out the desires buried in the depths of a person’s heart.
Inside the dream world, those hidden desires would be magnified hundreds or even thousands of times, expanding without limit.
The scenery was identical to that of the daytime. The stream was clear and flowed with a gentle murmur beneath the lovely spring sunshine.
Bai An’an stood soaking wet in the stream, allowing her disheveled clothes to hang loosely from her shoulders and reveal her slender, pale collarbones.
Mu Tianyin remained in the guise of the ordinary-looking female cultivator. Standing on the bank, she stared at Bai An’an without expression.
Bai An’an covered her lips and giggled softly. Raising her bright eyes, she looked toward Mu Tianyin and called in a sweet voice, “Immortal…”
Seeing Mu Tianyin’s unmoved expression, Bai An’an merely curled her lips into a carefree smile. She lifted her long, straight legs and stepped onto the bank.
Mu Tianyin watched without revealing any emotion, but a trace of confusion flickered through her heart.
This was the scene from earlier that day. Did that mean she was currently dreaming?
Throughout all her years of cultivation, Mu Tianyin had rarely slept, much less dreamed. And she had certainly never experienced this sort of dream—one she did not even know how to describe.
The timid, bashful young woman from the daytime seemed to have transformed into an entirely different person.
Still wearing those half-revealing clothes, she emerged from the stream and walked gracefully toward Mu Tianyin.
Mu Tianyin raised her eyes to watch her, her gaze as calm as still water. She wanted to see what the young woman in her dream intended to do.
Bai An’an studied her with great interest, then slowly raised her hand. Her slender, pale fingertips caressed the side of Mu Tianyin’s face.
This body of hers was still young, so she stood a full head shorter than Mu Tianyin.
She tilted her face upward, allowing Mu Tianyin to lower her eyes and carefully examine her features. Then she smiled faintly.
“Do you like what you see?”
Mu Tianyin furrowed her brow and seized Bai An’an’s wrist. “What exactly are you trying to do?”
Mu Tianyin was thoroughly puzzled. Was this truly her dream, or had she fallen into an illusion?
For the moment, she could not determine which it was. She could only continue observing the young woman’s next move.
Knowing Mu Tianyin would not attack her, Bai An’an went along with the motion. She reversed her grip around Mu Tianyin’s wrist and pressed the woman’s palm against her chest.
“Immortal, if you allow me to remain by your side, An’an is willing to serve you—”
She gazed at Mu Tianyin with a gentle, intent expression. Her red lips parted, her words carrying an indescribable mixture of ambiguity and breathless longing.
Enhanced by the dream, that beautiful face appeared even more alluring.
Mu Tianyin froze for an instant. Her palm rested against the young woman’s chest, feeling the warmth radiating from her body and the soft, yielding sensation beneath her hand. Something stirred faintly inside her.
It was an exceedingly strange sensation, as though something had gently nudged her heart. A rosy flush immediately crept across the roots of her pale ears.
Caught off guard, she abruptly withdrew her hand and let it fall to her side, turning her head away slightly.
Even so, Mu Tianyin’s tone remained perfectly calm.
“You need not serve me.”
Bai An’an raised her sleeve to cover her mouth and giggled softly.
She knew that although Mu Tianyin was trying to appear unmoved, the desires inside her had already been magnified hundreds or even thousands of times by the Soul Fragrance.
However, that did not necessarily mean Mu Tianyin had developed any improper thoughts about her.
Bai An’an did not care in the slightest that she was taking advantage of Mu Tianyin’s vulnerable state. She laughed sweetly, and when Mu Tianyin looked back at her, Bai An’an caught her fingers and guided them down the curves of her chest toward her sash.
The long dress was already hanging precariously from her body, neither secure nor quite falling. The moment Mu Tianyin’s fingers lightly brushed against it, the pure white garment slipped to the ground.
Bai An’an stood charmingly before her, the fallen dress at her feet framing her like a circle of immaculate flower petals.
She raised her hand and placed her warm fingertips beside Mu Tianyin’s ear, slowly caressing the jade-white curve again and again.
Leaning closer, she exhaled a fragrant breath through her crimson lips.
“Immortal, when An’an said she would serve you, she didn’t mean the sort of service your disciples provide.”
She paused, her voice turning low and husky.
“Will you let An’an become your female favorite?”
Mu Tianyin’s pupils contracted. With a violent sweep of her long sleeve, she snapped, “Insolence!”
The dream abruptly shattered.
Bai An’an’s soul returned to her puppet body. Recalling how Mu Tianyin’s expression had finally changed, she could not help laughing softly.
