The Black Lotus Stole The White Moonlight [Rebirth] - Chapter 4
Bai An’an knew that outrageous dream would inevitably put Mu Tianyin on her guard.
Someone like Mu Tianyin, who looked as pure and immaculate as a white lotus, would never entertain the thought of keeping a female favorite.
Therefore, she was undoubtedly unsettled at this very moment. She might even be unable to restrain herself and come over under the concealment of darkness to investigate.
The corner of Bai An’an’s mouth lifted. She spread her fingers and held her hand before her eyes.
Staring at the distinct lines across her palm, she narrowed her eyes slightly.
Sometimes, victory could only be achieved by taking an unexpected risk.
Mu Tianyin was the number-one beauty beneath the heavens and also cultivated the Way of Indifference.
Countless people admired her. Bai An’an could easily pretend to be one of them, acting as though her heart were racing, her face were flushed, and she had no idea what to do with her hands and feet.
But did Mu Tianyin lack devoted lapdogs?
Bai An’an sneered as she recalled Mu Tianyin’s eldest disciple, Song Qiyu.
If Bai An’an held herself back, she would end up like Song Qiyu, silently harboring a love she could never confess.
In Bai An’an’s opinion, Mu Tianyin was certainly beautiful, but Bai An’an did not even like women. She therefore felt no psychological burden whatsoever when flirting with her.
After transmigrating, Bai An’an’s luck had been terrible, and she had landed directly in the Demon Realm.
At first, she had also been a sweet, naïve little fool who opened her heart completely to someone she considered a friend.
But that so-called friend—and Song Qiyu—had both taught her lessons she would never forget.
In this world of immortal cultivation, friends and lovers alike could betray her.
Only strength could provide a firm foundation upon which to stand.
Her heart had long since grown as cold as ice that had remained frozen for a thousand years.
Suddenly, Bai An’an detected a fluctuation of spiritual energy in the air, and her heart stirred.
The corner of her mouth lifted slightly. She pressed her lips together before slowly smoothing them into a neutral line. Then she neatly folded both hands and placed them obediently atop the blanket.
Concealing her form, Mu Tianyin appeared inside the tiny servant room. Her long robes trailed across the floor, and her tall, elegant figure stood as straight as jade.
Moonlight streamed through the window and gently spilled across her face, illuminating features beautiful enough to steal one’s soul.
Unfortunately, no one was there to admire such a kingdom-toppling face.
Mu Tianyin landed lightly and walked gracefully toward Bai An’an’s couch.
Her footsteps were weightless and made no sound at all. As she moved, her long skirt rippled around her like flowing water, spreading into beautiful folds.
She stopped beside the couch and looked down at Bai An’an, who appeared to be sleeping soundly. Remembering the seductive dream she had just experienced, Mu Tianyin furrowed her brow slightly.
She thought of the young woman Song Qiyu had killed for her blood, then once again focused upon the peerlessly beautiful young woman lying on the bed.
“Your name is Bai An’an. Are you connected to that young woman somehow?” she murmured softly.
Everything about this was strange—the identical names and the dream she had experienced tonight.
Although Mu Tianyin could not be certain how this young woman was connected to the owner of the Profound Yin blood, she could confirm one thing: there was something unusual about her.
With that thought, Mu Tianyin leaned forward slightly and lowered her slender, pale fingertips toward the smooth space between the young woman’s brows.
Bai An’an smacked her lips in her sleep and shifted slightly, turning her head aside to evade Mu Tianyin’s touch.
Mu Tianyin had not expected her to roll over, and her movements immediately stilled.
She raised her eyes and looked again, only to discover that although the young woman had turned onto her side, she had turned toward Mu Tianyin.
Without warning, that face was now mere inches away from hers.
Mu Tianyin stood at a slight distance, her fingertip hovering just above Bai An’an’s brow without ever touching it.
Pretending to scratch her chin, Bai An’an moved a little more forcefully. Her collar immediately slipped lower, revealing the undergarment beneath it.
In the past, Mu Tianyin would never have felt the need to avoid seeing another woman’s undergarment. However, she had only just experienced that dream and had awakened with a thin layer of perspiration across her forehead.
Although the person at the center of that dream now slept in complete ignorance, she remained just as troublesome as she had been inside it.
Mu Tianyin recalled how shamelessly the young woman had offered herself to share her bed. Her fingertip abruptly grew hot, and she immediately withdrew her hand.
The young woman would remain right beneath her nose regardless. Mu Tianyin could first send someone to investigate her and confirm her identity before deciding what to do next.
Mu Tianyin straightened, looked back at Bai An’an, then swept her sleeve and instantly vanished from the servant room.
Bai An’an abruptly turned over to face the inside of the bed and buried her head in the pillow.
In the darkness, her eyes snapped open, their black depths gleaming with cold detachment.
It was said that the first step toward having one’s heart stirred began with curiosity.
Mu Tianyin, keep watching her. Keep investigating her. Then slowly fall deeper and deeper…
The corner of Bai An’an’s mouth gradually curved upward in a smile of absolute confidence.
She slept soundly through the night and did not rise until the sun was already high in the sky.
Since Bai An’an was staying in the servant compound and had no desire to draw attention, she had accepted a few tasks despite constantly slacking off.
Today, however, she had awakened far too late, immediately attracting the attention of certain people in the kitchen.
One of them was a young man who, despite his age, was already a dishonest, lecherous troublemaker. Relying on the fact that one of his uncles was a steward of Anqi Peak, he frequently groped and harassed some of the more attractive women in the servant quarters.
Although Bai An’an had concealed her beauty, traces of her graceful, alluring figure could not be hidden entirely.
Bai An’an had encountered all sorts of people. After glancing at him twice, she immediately knew what he intended.
She listened carelessly to the spoiled young master shouting outside the courtyard gate, the corner of her mouth slowly curling upward.
He had chosen the perfect time.
Mu Tianyin would be patrolling the Five Peaks throughout the next few days. After what happened yesterday, she would undoubtedly be paying even closer attention to Bai An’an.
Bai An’an raised one hand, curled her fingers beneath her chin, and smiled with interest.
“A hero rescues a beauty, and the beauty offers herself to him in return?”
After a moment, she shook her head and corrected herself. “No. It should be: a beauty rescues another beauty, and the rescued beauty offers herself in return!”
Bai An’an threw back her blanket, tidied herself, and went straight outside.
At the courtyard entrance stood a fairly handsome young man with an insufferably arrogant expression. The moment he saw Bai An’an emerge, naked desire appeared on his face.
Bai An’an walked gracefully toward him, turning her face slightly to the side. She made a delicate curtsy, her body as fragile as a willow swaying in the wind.
“Brother Hu, why did you call for An’an?”
The young man had originally intended to pick a quarrel with her, then threaten, intimidate, and entice her until she submitted to him. However, the young woman’s sweet and crisp call of “Brother Hu” instantly sent a pleasant numbness through half his body.
The cruel words lodged in his throat, refusing to emerge. All he could do was stare infatuatedly at her with a pair of lecherous eyes.
Not only that, but the young woman before him blushed and gazed at him as though she wanted to speak but was too shy to do so.
“Actually, my feelings toward Brother Hu…”
The young man swallowed, his heart bursting with delight. He extended his arms, about to pull the young woman into his embrace and finally ease the longing that had tormented him.
The corner of Bai An’an’s mouth lifted slightly. Sensing that Mu Tianyin was about to pass nearby, she immediately raised her sleeve to cover her face and ran in Mu Tianyin’s direction.
“Immortal! Save me!”
Upon reaching Mu Tianyin, Bai An’an swiftly hid behind her. She lowered her sleeve to reveal a tear-streaked face as pitiful as pear blossoms drenched in rain.
Leaning against Mu Tianyin from behind, she tightly clutched the woman’s sleeve and sobbed softly. Every so often, she raised her exquisite face and looked at Mu Tianyin with a helpless, pleading expression.
The young man had not even managed to extend his lecherous hand before he found himself staring dumbfounded at Bai An’an’s astonishing transformation. His gaze shifted toward the expressionless mountain guard standing before him, and he immediately shouted, “She—she’s falsely accusing me! She was the one who seduced me!”
Bai An’an did not defend herself. She allowed him to accuse her furiously while merely covering the corner of her eye with her sleeve and silently shedding tears.
Disciplining a servant was hardly difficult for Mu Tianyin.
Mountain guards ordinarily handled incidents like this with great efficiency. In less than a few moments, disciples arrived carrying a Heart-Testing Stone and dragged away the young man, whose long record of misconduct was immediately exposed.
Still clutching Mu Tianyin’s sleeve, Bai An’an looked curiously at the Heart-Testing Stone in the mountain guard’s hands. She blinked her large, watery eyes and asked, “Can that Heart-Testing Stone truly detect every lie in the world?”
Mu Tianyin lowered her eyes to look at the sleeve Bai An’an had nearly mangled, then turned her head toward her.
“Let go.”
Bai An’an abruptly released her fingers and looked at Mu Tianyin cautiously. Fidgeting nervously with her hands, she stammered, “I—I didn’t mean to offend you, Immortal!”
She raised her head. When Mu Tianyin merely looked at her without speaking, Bai An’an immediately lowered her gaze and murmured with a flushed face, “I’m sorry about last time. I misunderstood you.”
Mu Tianyin’s gaze traveled over her for a moment. Recalling how completely different the young woman in her dream had been from the one standing before her now, she briefly fell into a daze.
However, since the young woman was unharmed, Mu Tianyin had no reason to remain.
“It’s fine,” she answered casually.
With that, she turned to leave.
Unexpectedly, she had only taken one step when someone seized her sleeve again.
Mu Tianyin stopped and turned around.
Bai An’an was clutching her sleeve with both hands. Tilting up her snow-white little face, she looked at Mu Tianyin pitifully.
“Immortal, since you’ve already saved me, could you please save me all the way? The servant who was just punished is Steward Hu’s own nephew.”
She paused, her eyes turning red. “He may not dare do anything to me openly, but he’ll certainly make things difficult for me in secret and find ways to humiliate me.”
Watching Mu Tianyin’s calm expression, her voice grew softer and softer. “I’m sorry. What right do I have to put you in such a difficult position?”
Bai An’an released her sleeve and abruptly turned away.
“Come with me.”
With her back still facing Mu Tianyin, Bai An’an stopped. She narrowed her eyes slightly, and the corner of her mouth lifted.
After a moment, she turned around with an expression of disbelief. “Immortal, what did you say?”
Mu Tianyin paused before answering in an unwavering voice, “From now on, you will stay with me on Guangzhao Peak.”
Upon hearing this, the happiness in Bai An’an’s smile became considerably more genuine. Her round almond-shaped eyes sparkled as she looked at Mu Tianyin.
“Then…will I be serving you from now on, Immortal?”
She knew Mu Tianyin had not meant for Bai An’an to remain at her side and personally attend to her. But Bai An’an had no intention of moving elsewhere merely to continue working as a servant, laboring like an ox or horse for those fools.
It would be best to attach herself directly to Mu Tianyin and live with her. With such proximity, she could capture Mu Tianyin all the sooner.
At the word serving, Mu Tianyin’s gaze abruptly shifted. A faint blush suddenly appeared at the roots of her pale ears, only to vanish in an instant.
She coughed lightly. “That will not be necessary. For the time being, you will live with the outer disciples.”
Most of those residing on Guangzhao Peak were officially registered inner disciples who had been selected through the sect’s trials.
Mu Tianyin could not disregard the rules and admit Bai An’an directly into the inner sect.
Besides, she did not intend to accept the young woman as a disciple. She merely planned to keep Bai An’an nearby so she could observe her closely.
Bai An’an frowned inwardly, but the feeling gradually faded after a moment.
She understood Mu Tianyin’s meaning, but she was not discouraged.
Taking advantage of Mu Tianyin’s unpreparedness, Bai An’an suddenly threw herself into her arms and tightly wrapped both arms around her waist. Raising her little face, she beamed radiantly.
“Senior Sister! Are you planning to ask Master to accept me as her disciple?”
Coaxing Mu Tianyin into accepting her as a disciple and then beginning a forbidden master-disciple romance sounded perfectly good too!
