A L*st at First Sight (Lily Futa) - Chapter 13
After wiping her hands and coming out of the repair area, Yu Qianlin finally looked toward the rest area. As expected, she saw another pile of bags. She said to Xiao Li with a headache, “Didn’t you tell her to stop sending things?”
Xiao Li helplessly spread her hands. “I’ve already told her for two days straight. Miss Liu said she’s supporting her friend’s new shop and has been ordering for several days in a row. She can’t cancel it.”
Yu Qianlin put her hands on her hips. “How many more days?”
“She didn’t say.”
“Tell her to send everything somewhere else starting tomorrow. We don’t need it here.”
“Oh,” Xiao Li replied. She specially took one portion from beside the computer and handed it to her. “Sister Lin, this one is for you.”
Yu Qianlin sighed but still took it and carried it to the office.
Xiao Li poked her head out, picked up her phone, and reported the situation to Liu Yuelan.
: Sister Lin took it
: OK, thanks
: But she said to send everything somewhere else starting tomorrow
: Then I’ll send something different tomorrow
: [thumbs up]
: [handshake]
So the next day the shop received all kinds of drinks, the day after that was pizza and fried chicken, the fourth day… And no matter what it was, Xiao Li would personally hand Yu Qianlin the portion specially prepared for her.
Several times Yu Qianlin took out her phone wanting to tell Liu Yuelan to stop sending things, but she was afraid the other woman would not only endlessly change the subject but also deliberately play dumb.
She was 100% capable of that.
Near closing time, she went to the front desk to talk to Xiao Li. Coincidentally, Xiao Li also had something to tell her. They spoke at the same time. Xiao Li went first: “Sister Lin, you speak first.”
“This month’s membership benefit — make a special expensive one for her.”
“Who?”
Yu Qianlin’s hand, which was adjusting her sleeve, paused. She looked up at Xiao Li in confusion, not expecting her not to know who she was talking about. When she saw the other woman’s mischievous smile, she uncomfortably looked away. She hadn’t expected Xiao Li to one day joke with her.
Xiao Li laughed enough, cleared her throat a few times, and said, “Got it.”
“Don’t send anything too personal. Just something of higher grade, understand?”
“Understood.”
Yu Qianlin lifted her leg to leave. Xiao Li quickly called her back. “Sister Lin, the runner just delivered flowers earlier. They said they’re for you.”
Yu Qianlin looked at the roses in front of her. She first nervously glanced around the lobby and, seeing no one else, awkwardly stepped back a few paces. She was relieved that Liu Yuelan hadn’t gone overboard and sent 99 roses — it was just a small bouquet.
“I don’t want them.”
“Why not? They’re so fresh. Smell them — they’re really fragrant!”
Yu Qianlin moved even farther away and frowned. “Tell her to stop sending anything. From now on, reject anything she sends directly.”
“Oh,” Xiao Li said disappointedly as she put the flowers away. “Then this…”
“Put it in the changing room. I’m leaving first.”
Xiao Li watched Yu Qianlin’s back as she left without any reluctance, feeling worried. This time she seemed even angrier than before.
She picked up her phone, wanting to report the situation to Liu Yuelan, but kept typing and deleting, not knowing how to phrase it. After hesitating for a long time, she tried to make her tone as gentle as possible.
: The flowers arrived, but Sister Lin didn’t accept them
: Okay
: Sister Lin also said to stop sending anything
: OK
Xiao Li looked at the simple reply in surprise and thought to herself: Could she really give up so easily?
The next morning, near closing time, Yu Qianlin and Xiao C returned from an outside job. Xiao C happily ran ahead to open the door for her.
Xiao Li looked up at them. “You’re back?”
“Mm, just a small problem. So easy!” Xiao C said cheerfully as he spun in a circle. Yu Qianlin directly tossed the toolbox into his arms. “Stop spinning. Put the things away.”
Just as she was about to go change clothes and get off work, she habitually glanced at the rest area and, sure enough, saw several plastic bags again. She frowned and asked sternly, “Didn’t I tell you not to accept her things? Why are there still some today?”
Xiao Li was about to speak when Yu Qianlin continued questioning, “Why do you like taking advantage of unrelated people so much? If you want an occasional extra meal, just buy it with the shop’s public funds. Can’t you just ignore her?”
Beside them, Xiao C shrank his neck while holding the toolbox. Why was Master so angry? And who was this “her”?
After Yu Qianlin finished, Xiao Li quickly walked out from behind the front desk. “Sister Lin, these aren’t from Miss Liu. They’re takeout orders from the employees themselves. They haven’t finished work yet, so they left them here first. If you don’t believe me, look at the names — they’re all people from the shop.”
Yu Qianlin had a breath stuck in her chest. She pressed her lips together and didn’t speak.
Xiao Li asked cautiously, “Sister Lin, why are you so angry today? You seem overly sensitive about anything related to Miss Liu.”
“Am I?” Yu Qianlin asked in a low voice.
Both Xiao Li and Xiao C nodded.
Yu Qianlin turned and went to the women’s changing room, leaving the two people in the lobby looking at each other in confusion.
Yu Qianlin was in a bad state all afternoon. She was preparing the PPT for next month’s meeting but couldn’t finish even one slide after half a day. In the end, she barely put the outline on each page. It was already time to get off work.
She walked a section of the road in irritation before realizing she had forgotten to drive. She knocked on her own head, casually bought two hamburgers on the way, and walked all the way home.
Downstairs at the apartment complex, Liu Yuelan stared at the rearview mirror, paying attention to what was behind her. In her left hand she held the packed meal she had personally gone to her usual shop to get, waiting for Yu Qianlin to return.
She had been on a business trip out of town these past few days. Since she couldn’t see her in person, she could only brush up her presence by sending food from afar so that the heartless Yu Qianlin wouldn’t forget her.
Now that she was back, of course delivering the meal herself was the way to go!
The corners of her mouth lifted as she looked forward to giving Yu Qianlin a surprise.
A familiar figure finally appeared in the rearview mirror. While happy, she wondered why she hadn’t driven today, but that wasn’t important. When the person was about to walk past her car, she picked up the bag and opened the car door. She had just pushed it open a little when she suddenly saw Yu Qianlin stop in her tracks and look at the middle-aged man who had been sitting on the bench beside her for a long time.
Yu Qianlin’s expression changed drastically. Anger radiated from her entire body. She stopped looking at him and walked forward quickly. The man, ignored, also became angry. He stood up and shouted at her, “Stop right there!”
Liu Yuelan felt it wasn’t suitable to get out of the car right now. She pulled the door back, leaving a small gap to listen to their conversation.
Yu Qianlin gripped the bag in her hand tightly, stopped, and decisively turned around to look at the man she loathed. Through gritted teeth, she said, “I already told you all long ago — don’t come and disturb me anymore!”
The man pointed at her angrily and cursed, “No matter what, I’m still your father. Is this how you speak to your parents?”
“Parents?” Yu Qianlin sneered. “Don’t you find it ridiculous to say those two words in front of me? Ask yourself honestly — do you deserve it?”
The man’s face turned red. His trembling finger pointed at her a few times before finally dropping weakly. He lowered his head and calmed down for a moment, then said powerlessly, “Everything in the past is over. You should look forward.”
Yu Qianlin laughed from extreme anger, crossing her arms. “What right do you have to lecture me?”
The man was choked for a moment and changed the subject. “How have you been lately? Is the shop doing okay? How’s life? Still single?”
Yu Qianlin sneered and bit her teeth without speaking.
The man earnestly advised, “You’re not young anymore. Even if… it’s time to find a man to marry.” The man’s expression became strange as he lowered his voice. “Or find a woman. Anyway, being alone isn’t a solution.”
Hearing him bring this up, the heart that had been suppressed by all kinds of complicated emotions for so long could no longer bear it. The past unrequited love, the current avoidance and retreat, the embarrassment and grievance after masturbating, and the impulse she faced in the darkness that night — everything flooded into her mind at once. Yu Qianlin clenched her fists tightly. “You don’t need to care!”
The man’s originally suppressed anger was ignited again. “If I don’t care, how did you grow up this big?”
Yu Qianlin’s eyes turned red. “The biggest mistake you two made in your lives was letting me grow up. The moment I was born, you should have strangled me! That way both of you could have been freed earlier!”
“What kind of nonsense is that!”
“Am I wrong? If you had let me die earlier, you wouldn’t have wasted so much effort on me, and I wouldn’t have turned into this ghostly appearance I am now.” Yu Qianlin trembled with anger. “Now each of you has a harmonious family, full of joy and laughter. Whenever you think of me, you come over, take a look, ask a couple of questions to ease your own guilt. Let me tell you — there’s no need! Whether I’m doing well or badly has nothing to do with you. I never want to see any of you again in this lifetime!”
The man, furious and exasperated, turned to leave. After a few steps, he remembered something, turned back, picked up the fruit basket from the bench, pointed at Yu Qianlin, and said viciously, “You… take care of yourself. Hmph!”
Yu Qianlin had vented all the emotions she had suppressed for so long in that conversation, but there were still many things she couldn’t say that were forced to stay hidden in her heart, never seeing the light of day, unknown to anyone.
She didn’t know how long she stood there. Her whole body had been tense for too long. The moment she relaxed, she felt sore all over and extremely tired. She turned around, ready to go back.
“Clang!”
Liu Yuelan put down the bag in front of her, revealing a smiling face. “Ah Yu, long time no see. Are you surprised?”
Yu Qianlin’s expression was ice-cold as she stared at her without speaking.
“It’s been several days since we last saw each other. Did you miss me? Oh right, you haven’t eaten yet, right? I brought you a big meal. Are you looking forward to it?”
After Liu Yuelan finished speaking excitedly, Yu Qianlin finally spoke.
“Are you very idle?”
“Why do you always come and bother me? Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been trying to do for so long.”
“You always say you don’t know whether my words are true or false, so let me tell you in advance — everything I’m about to say is true.”
“Don’t think I can’t see what all your little actions are for. Do you think that by not saying it outright while pursuing me, I won’t reject you? I’m telling you very clearly now — I don’t like you. I don’t like you at all. You sending so many things makes me feel very annoyed. Your pestering also bothers me a lot!”
“Always coming to disturb me at every turn is really annoying. I don’t want to see you anymore. Please stay away from me. Is this clear enough this time, Miss Liu?”
After saying all this in one breath, Yu Qianlin’s chest heaved violently. Toward the end, her mind had heated up and the words hadn’t gone through her brain, but after finishing, she felt much more relaxed.
Liu Yuelan’s face became uglier and uglier as she spoke. In the end, she pressed her lips tightly together, nodded, and said in a low voice, “I understand. I’m sorry.”
With that, she walked toward her car. When she passed the trash can, she threw the bag in her hand into it, started the car, made a sharp turn, and sped past Yu Qianlin. The roar of the engine lingered for a long time, making Yu Qianlin’s ears ring.
Liu Yuelan stepped on the gas and slammed on the brakes as she drove out of the compound. Once on the road, she floored it while staying at the speed limit, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly, her eyes staring straight ahead. Finally, at an intersection when she nearly rear-ended the car in front, she slammed on the brakes hard. Her whole body lurched forward and slammed heavily against the steering wheel. Only then did she realize she hadn’t even fastened her seatbelt.
She fearfully buckled her seatbelt. After passing the intersection, she pulled over to the side of the road. Knowing her current state wasn’t suitable for driving, she slammed her fist hard on the steering wheel. Her hand hurt from the impact, but she felt nothing. She lay back against the seat and forced herself to calm down.
In the end, unable to digest it herself, she picked up her phone and sent a voice message in the lively group chat: “Drinks at the bar, anyone?”
The people who had been discussing other things were all drawn in by her message.
: Wow, did I see that right? Is this really the beautiful Liu?
: Welcome, welcome [fireworks][fireworks]
: Wow, the last time Ah Lan spoke here I was still a virgin
: ???
: What has Ah Lan been busy with these past few months? Asking us out for drinks — does this mean there’s movement again?
: Wuwuwu no, Sister Lan look at me. You promised I was first in line!
……
Liu Yuelan irritably grabbed her hair and sent another voice message: “Are we going or not? Say it quickly!”
: Wow, Sister Lan scolded me. She has me in her heart!
: Yuelan, you sound like you’re in a bad mood. What happened?
: Ah Lan, what’s wrong? Work not going well?
: Long time no see, Yuelan
……
Little A saw the topic going off track again and quickly pulled it back.
: Go go go, definitely going. When?
“Now.”
Liu Yuelan put down her phone and prepared to drive away. Someone knocked on the car window. She turned her head impatiently — it was a traffic officer.
“Miss, you can’t park here. Please show your driver’s license.”
“……”
Inside the bar, the music was blasting loudly. The glaring lights made people’s heads hurt, but the people on the dance floor didn’t feel noisy at all. They swayed freely, releasing their excess energy.
Liu Yuelan was wearing extremely short shorts and a camisole. Her jacket had long been thrown somewhere unknown. With flaming red lips, prominent breasts and ass, and hot, seductive dance moves that clearly showed some dancing skill, she attracted men and women one after another who wanted to dance with her. She welcomed everyone, pressing close to her constantly changing dance partners and moving freely. Occasionally, when she saw a beautiful woman, she would teasingly touch the other’s face. When the other tried to get closer, she would smile and push them away, leaving them wanting more.
The music changed from heavy rock to lazy jazz. Liu Yuelan also slowed her movements, caressing her body as she swayed to the music. Gradually, the people around her decreased. Everyone automatically left a space with her in the middle. Her friends who came with her cheered and hyped up her solo. The lively commotion here also attracted more onlookers. The bar timely shone a spotlight on her alone.
Liu Yuelan’s waist was soft and flexible, her expression seductive. Her hand alluringly slid from her calf to her chest. Her messy hair covered half her face, adding a layer of seductive allure. Sweat broke out on her body, making her feel very satisfied. During this, drunk people kept uttering a few filthy words. Liu Yuelan pretended not to hear them.
When the song ended, she wore a charming, flirtatious smile and swayed from the dance floor toward the bar counter, starting to down one glass after another.
Men and women with various intentions tried to come over and hit on her, but all were stopped in advance by Little A.
Little A’s mouth was worn out from talking. Finally no one else came over. She turned around and saw that the bottle of alcohol in Liu Yuelan’s hand was already empty.
“Sister, what’s wrong with you today? What stimulated you? Drinking so much, and it’s all silent drinking.”
Liu Yuelan ignored her and reached for another bottle, taking a big gulp. Little A snatched the bottle from her hand and waved both hands in front of her. “Hey, Liu Yuelan, pay attention to me!”
Liu Yuelan pushed her hand away, wanting to take her alcohol back but grabbing nothing.
“Alright, sister, you’re drunk.” Little A reached out to stop her. “Stop drinking.”
Liu Yuelan struggled wildly, trying to break free from her restraint. Little A’s face was rubbed back and forth by her large breasts. She said in frustration, “Liu Yuelan, stop moving around. Even if I’m not a lesbian, you don’t have to be this casual, right?”
Liu Yuelan was also tired. She pressed Little A’s head into her chest and said drunkenly, “Little A, Little A… it hurts so much…”
Little A’s voice was muffled. “You drank so much — of course it hurts.”
Liu Yuelan rubbed her hair and hugged her as she walked downward. “Forget it, forget it. Let’s keep dancing! Dance!”
“Still dancing?!”
Before she could finish speaking, she was dragged down again.
