After Transmigrated as the Movie Star's Omega - Chapter 2
Shen Baibi had a dream, and in that dream, there was a very fragrant, very sweet scent.
He was dominated by this aroma, following his primal instincts like a long-starved beast. He greedily devoured the prey beneath him—prey that radiated a cloyingly sweet fragrance—only his method of “eating” was of a different nature.
It wasn’t enough; no matter what, it was never enough. He wanted to swallow his prey whole, regardless of how the prey struggled or pleaded.
But strangely, his prey didn’t resist; in fact, the prey seemed to be quite enjoying it.
Thus, he became even more reckless, launching one fierce assault after another. Under his relentless barrage, the prey put on a pitiful, delicate display that only further stimulated his senses.
After an unknown amount of time, he finally stopped, satisfied. His mental and physical strength had reached their limits. Exhausted, he didn’t even check on his prey before pulling them into his arms and falling into a deep sleep.
Wrapped in that sweet scent, he drifted into a dark, heavy slumber.
The alarm went off at exactly 6:00 AM, the “Call of the Forest” ringtone relentlessly battering his eardrums.
Xia Ran irritably raised his hand to cover his ears. Didn’t they say there was no work today and he could sleep until he woke up naturally? Which brainless idiot set an alarm for him?
Wait… is there something over my eyes?
Xia Ran touched his face in confusion, then froze. Why was there a piece of cloth over his eyes?
“So noisy…”
A low, raspy voice muttered with deep dissatisfaction. Then, the other person rolled over, stretched out an arm to pull him by the waist, and rested a chin on his shoulder. A damp, hot breath brushed against his neck.
Xia Ran went completely stiff. There was… someone next to him?
After a long stunned silence, Xia Ran tremblingly removed the blindfold and slowly turned his head.
Shen Baibi was sleeping soundly, his breathing long and steady. He looked like he was having an excellent night’s rest.
Wait a minute, why is this guy sleeping next to me?!
Xia Ran fought to stay calm and figure out the situation. His brain shifted into high gear, quickly unearthing the events of the previous night.
Last night… wasn’t a dream!
It felt like a heavy blow to the head. Xia Ran was completely dazed, his mind a chaotic mess with only one message playing on a loop:
He really got slept with. And by Shen Baibi, no less!
Shen Baibi had rarely slept this well. Even the annoying alarm failed to chase away his drowsiness; besides, he had a fragrant, soft “body pillow” in his arms that he was loath to let go of.
But suddenly, a massive force shoved him away.
Having his peaceful sleep interrupted so abruptly, Shen Baibi opened his eyes in a foul mood, looking for the culprit to vent his anger on.
“Ngh—”
Before he could see clearly, a weak, limp groan drifted into his ears. As his vision cleared, he saw a figure curled up just inches away, naked and let out low sobs from time to time.
Shen Baibi froze. What was going on?
“You…” he ventured hesitantly.
The person suddenly whipped their head around and glared at him. Although the expression was fierce, the tears shimmering in his eyes took the edge off his intimidation.
“Why is it you?!” Shen Baibi cried out in shock. It was Xia Ran!
His gaze swept over the other man. The heavy curtains blocked out most of the natural light, leaving the room dim, but that didn’t stop him from seeing a sight that made his breath hitch—Xia Ran’s pale, slender body was a mess, covered in the marks of pleasure. He looked a bit pitiful, and a bit…
Enticing.
Shen Baibi quickly looked away, forcing himself to calm down.
He knew exactly what those ambiguous marks meant. This meant the thing he thought was a dream was actually real.
He and Xia Ran… actually did it.
How did this happen?
Shen Baibi’s heart was full of shock. “What is the meaning of this?”
Xia Ran stayed curled up. Because he had pushed Shen Baibi too hard just now, an ache as if his body were falling apart radiated from every limb. It hurt so much his tears started flowing again. He could only grip the sheets, gritting his teeth as he cursed in a raspy voice: “You fucking dare ask me what’s going on!”
As he spoke, he propped himself up with his arms, trying to get up. He couldn’t stand it; even if he couldn’t win a fight, he had to try.
“Wait, I don’t know either!” Shen Baibi saw him wobbling and quickly spoke up. “I remember I was sleeping at home!”
“I was sleeping at home too!” Xia Ran was fuming. He made it sound like Xia Ran had gone out for a midnight hookup.
The conversation hit a dead end. Shen Baibi was certain he hadn’t subjectively done anything out of line, and looking at Xia Ran’s reaction, this wasn’t his intention either. So, what was really happening?
Shen Baibi frustratedly ran a hand through his hair. He wanted to say more, but every time his eyes met Xia Ran’s, he immediately looked away. Communication was difficult in this state.
He looked around, saw two bathrobes discarded on the floor, picked one up, and tossed it over. “Put this on first!”
Xia Ran was still angry when he was suddenly smothered by the bathrobe. He struggled out of it, ready to continue demanding justice, but when he saw Shen Baibi putting on his own robe, he suddenly dithered.
Earlier, his rage had blinded him to everything else. Now that he had cooled down slightly, he just felt awkward—especially seeing Shen Baibi’s lean, powerful physique. He didn’t look like much with clothes on, but how was he so well-built underneath? And that thing down there…
Was that the weapon used on him like this and like that? Heavens, is that even human?!
Calm down, calm down! Something is fishy here, stay calm!
Xia Ran silently cautioned himself, his face turning red as he pulled on the robe.
With their bodies covered, the shame lessened slightly, but the atmosphere remained explosive.
Once dressed, Shen Baibi began to examine the room. After a circuit, he asked, “Where is this?” This wasn’t his house.
“How should I know where this is?” Xia Ran snapped.
Shen Baibi’s expression darkened. He thought back to previous events and said uncertainly, “Could this be a prank show? We did say we wanted to collaborate…”
Xia Ran grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him, cursing, “Is your brain filled with nothing but hormones? What kind of show would go this far? Do they want to lose their lives?!”
Shen Baibi swatted the pillow back. “Then you tell me what happened!”
Xia Ran went silent. He didn’t know either.
Though he didn’t want to believe that ridiculous theory, the situation was so bizarre and lacked any rational explanation that he couldn’t help but waver.
Subconsciously, Xia Ran started looking for potential cameras. He didn’t find any cameras, but he did spot a picture frame on the nightstand.
“What’s this? Hiss—” The light was behind it, making the photo unreadable. Xia Ran reached for it, but the movement triggered an ache from an… indescribable place, making him a second too slow.
Shen Baibi frowned and picked up the frame.
Xia Ran saw his face go so dark it looked like it could drip ink.
“What is it?” Xia Ran asked curiously.
Shen Baibi looked at him, hesitant to speak, and simply handed him the frame.
Xia Ran saw the photo clearly and his mind went blank. It was a photo of him and Shen Baibi. They were both dressed formally, leaning together in an intimate pose. At a glance, it was clear their relationship was anything but ordinary.
He was confused. “When did I ever take a photo like this with you? It must be Photoshopped.”
Shen Baibi didn’t reply. Instead, he picked up two small red booklets that had been sitting under the frame. Xia Ran suddenly had a very bad premonition.
Then, he watched in horror as Shen Baibi showed him the two red books.
Marriage Certificates. His and Shen Baibi’s!
“Fake, it’s fake. It must be a prank show!” Xia Ran chanted like a mantra.
Shen Baibi looked at him, his tone certain: “There are no cameras.”
Xia Ran refused to face reality: “Pinhole ones!”
Shen Baibi sighed.
“What the hell is going on?” Xia Ran finally woke up from his self-delusion.
Shen Baibi said nothing, merely resting his chin in his hand, lost in thought.
Xia Ran muttered: “This plot doesn’t connect to what happened before I went to sleep… I’ve got it!”
He suddenly let out a shout.
“Hmm?” Shen Baibi looked at him.
Xia Ran shared his analytical breakthrough: “I must still be asleep. This is all a dream!”
Shen Baibi massaged his temples. Could he be serious for one second?
Xia Ran stared at him for a moment, then reached out and pinched Shen Baibi’s arm hard.
“Hiss—What are you doing!” Shen Baibi yelped in pain, slapping his hand away.
Xia Ran retracted his hand and explained: “If it doesn’t hurt, it means it’s a dream!”
“Why didn’t you pinch yourself?” Shen Baibi knitted his brows.
“I’m afraid of pain,” Xia Ran answered matter-of-factly, then asked eagerly, “Did it hurt?”
“What do you think?” Shen Baibi glared at him.
Seeing his expression, Xia Ran slumped. “If it hurts, it means it’s not a dream…”
“How can it not be a dream…” His voice was full of despair.
Shen Baibi looked at him, about to offer a few words of comfort, when Xia Ran spoke again.
“If it’s not a dream, who would do-do-do-do-do with you…” Xia Ran’s face turned red, his voice dropping to a whisper. “Do that kind of thing… I didn’t do it willingly!”
Shen Baibi wanted to argue that he hadn’t been willing either, but seeing the tips of Xia Ran’s ears turning bright red, he stayed silent.
After a moment, Shen Baibi sighed softly and said, “This whole thing is too strange. If it were just us waking up in bed together, one could argue you seduced me, but there’s also the marriage certificate…”
“Who seduced you!” Xia Ran wasn’t happy about that. The nerve of this man—who would ever seduce him?!
“Otherwise?” Shen Baibi didn’t back down. “I don’t have those kinds of feelings for you. Do you think I’d voluntarily hold you?”
“Then are you implying I’d voluntarily let you hold me? In your dreams!” Xia Ran gritted his teeth. “Your technique was so bad, it made me feel miserable—”
Shen Baibi’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Technique was bad? Then who was the one screaming for their life?”
No man can tolerate their “technique” being questioned. At this moment, Shen Baibi didn’t care about anything else; he only wanted to vindicate himself. Everything else could wait.
Even though the other man was radiating a dangerous aura, Xia Ran was no coward. He immediately shot back: “Who was screaming? For all I know, you drugged me! This is a setup!”
“Drugged?” Shen Baibi sneered. “I need drugs to hold you? Do you want to try again?”
“I’ll tr—” Xia Ran cut himself off just in time. Close call; he almost got baited. “Get lost! Try your head!”
Shen Baibi scoffed. “Just a moment ago you were as limp as a puddle of water, now you’re full of life again.”
“Save the nonsense!” Xia Ran huffed. “I’m not letting this go!”
“What do you want to do?” Shen Baibi frowned. No matter how you looked at it, this was a scandal. If it blew up…
Xia Ran was just talking big; he hadn’t actually decided what to do. Both of them had very high-profile identities, and this whole thing happened so mysteriously. It would be bad to make a scene before figuring things out, but he couldn’t swallow his pride either.
He thought for a moment and had an idea: “I’m calling my manager!”
Despite his outward bravado, he was actually quite nervous. Facing something like this for the first time, he felt he couldn’t handle it properly. He had to place his hopes on the manager he trusted. When the time came to negotiate terms, he was definitely going to take a pound of flesh from Shen Baibi.
Shen Baibi nodded. “Then I’ll have my manager come over too.” For negotiations and the like, it was best to let the professionals handle it.
Having made up their minds, the two prepared to contact their respective managers. Just then, the bedroom door swung open silently.
