Xiao Xinyue returned to her room, lay on the bed, and closed her eyes, but no matter what, she could not fall asleep.
The little bed she had made for Bai Tang was neat and tidy. It had been folded again in the morning, and Bai Tang probably would not come sleep there again tonight.
Xiao Xinyue turned over, inexplicably restless.
With Bai Tang’s personality, with so many temptations placed before her, she must have already been utterly fascinated. Maybe she was already sleeping with Lu Keke in the guest room right now.

She got up, draped a coat over herself, and left the room.
The living room lights were off. No one was there anymore, and there was no movement at all.

She had actually done something this foolish—using these things to bribe Bai Tang for affection. She had truly lost her head.
With a cold face, Xiao Xinyue went upstairs.
She pushed open the door to her room and turned on the light.
On the little bed lay a soft, fluffy ball. Bai Tang was sleeping soundly, her breathing light and slow. Even her tiny little snores were adorable.
Xiao Xinyue could not suppress her smile.
She stood at the doorway, watching Bai Tang’s sleeping face for a very, very long time.

The next morning, after Bai Tang woke up, she went to wash up by herself and even ran into Lu Keke.
She brushed her teeth with a little toothbrush, her big eyes looking strangely at Lu Keke. She was only brushing her teeth, so why was Lu Keke staring at her the whole time?
Lu Keke held her little face in her hands as she watched.
The cub could actually brush her own teeth.
Huozi came over and looked at Lu Keke eagerly.
Lu Keke rubbed its head twice before remembering that she could not show her fondness so openly. Last night, she had bribed Bai Tang for so long, but Bai Tang had refused to fall for it.
Why was it that Xiao Xinyue could coax her so obediently with just a few fruits?
After Bai Tang finished brushing her teeth, she washed her little mouth and quickly ran away.
Watering the flowers had almost become a habit for her. Every morning, when she looked at those delicate flowers, her mood would improve.
Bai Tang passed by the living room and opened her mouth wide.
Food, supplies, and toys were piled up everywhere, packed full. Was it New Year? Had someone gone out to stock up?
Bai Tang had no concept of time. The weather was cold, but it had not snowed yet, and it did not seem like New Year was coming.
She could no longer walk away.
But she did not dare casually take anything, since she did not know whose things they were.
Xiao Xinyue walked out from around the corner. “I bought them.”
Bai Tang’s eyes lit up. She rushed over and gathered a pile of fruits into her arms. Just as she was about to start eating, Xiao Xinyue chased her away from them.
Xiao Xinyue curved her lips. “But I didn’t say they were for you.”
Bai Tang pouted. Even without saying it, she knew Xiao Xinyue would not be that kind. Fortunately, she had grabbed one in her paw and quickly gnawed it clean in a few bites.
Xiao Xinyue put her down.
Bai Tang watched her walk away, then looked at the tempting food in front of her. If Xiao Xinyue was not giving it to her, then fine, but why put it here? Was this not seducing her?
Fine, she would not eat.
But stealing one more should be fine, right?
Xiao Xinyue looked back. “Go eat breakfast.”
Bai Tang’s fur puffed up. She had been startled.
She had almost taken one.
She was very tempted, but she had to be a principled person.
Bai Tang went to the dining room.
Today’s breakfast was also very abundant. The fragrance spread everywhere, making one’s appetite surge.
Bai Tang took a sip of milk before starting to eat.
Lan Ji asked, “Miss, did you buy all those things piled up in the living room?”
Xiao Xinyue nodded slightly.

After Bai Tang finished eating, she blinked at Lan Ji.
Lan Ji skillfully gave her another serving.
Lu Keke smiled again and said, “Xiao Bai, come over here and eat with me. I’ll still give you all that food.”
Bai Tang’s eyes lit up.
This request could be satisfied.
Bai Tang impatiently wanted to go over, but someone held her little paw.
Xiao Xinyue met her bright big eyes. Letting go did not feel right, but continuing to hold on did not feel right either. She pursed her lips and said, “Those were bought for you.”
Lu Keke had guessed it, but she had thought Xiao Xinyue would never admit it.
Lan Ji sensed the change in Xiao Xinyue. She had started to care about Bai Tang.
After Xiao Xinyue said it, she felt a little regretful.
This was too unlike her.
Bai Tang’s clear blue eyes shone with flowing light. She stared directly at Xiao Xinyue, her eyes full of joy and excitement. Her short little tail unconsciously swayed.
They were actually all bought for her.
The little villain was actually this good to her. She suddenly felt so happy.
Xiao Xinyue asked, “That happy?”
Bai Tang nodded hard, several times in a row.

Saying it out loud did not seem so bad after all.

After the meal, Bai Tang dashed straight to the living room.

Lu Keke got angry. She was speaking to her properly, yet Xiao Xinyue was covered in thorns. “I just feel that someone like you wouldn’t raise one. Gloomy and withdrawn…”
Xiao Xinyue interrupted her. “So I should die alone, is that it?”
She had heard words like this too many times ever since she could remember.
She had killed her own mother, she was born a monster, and there were even more rumors and idle gossip. She could recite them by heart.
Lu Keke was frightened by her aura. “I wasn’t saying bad things about you.”
Xiao Xinyue asked, “When are you leaving?”
Lu Keke had not intended to stay for long anyway. She had come to show off her spirit beast, but in the end, she had not managed to show it off and had instead been utterly charmed by Bai Tang. This would not do.
“I’ll leave tonight. What’s the rush?”
Xiao Xinyue said nothing more.
Lu Keke asked again, “Does Xiao Bai have no combat power at all?”
Xiao Xinyue glanced at her and said nothing.
Lu Keke took her silence as agreement. When they were very young, Xiao Xinyue had not yet lived here. Lu Keke had often gone to challenge Xiao Xinyue in magic, but she had lost miserably every time and had never quite accepted it.
“Spirit beasts are meant to protect us. This won’t do. Why not let Huozi train Xiao Bai a little?”
Xiao Xinyue did not really respond to her.
Bai Tang had nearly fallen asleep among the pile of food. The little villain had bought her so much, so she had to thank her.
Bai Tang rushed excitedly into Xiao Xinyue’s arms and raised her head to look at her, her sapphire-blue eyes sparkling.
Xiao Xinyue was caught off guard and placed her book to the side. “What is it?”
Bai Tang kissed her delicate little face, then licked it, smiling and revealing two tiny sharp teeth.
Xiao Xinyue was completely unprepared.
But her mood inexplicably improved.
Lu Keke said sourly from the side, “Xiao Bai, do you know magic?”
Of course she did.
Bai Tang nodded hard.
Lu Keke said again, “How about competing with my Huozi?”
Xiao Xinyue subconsciously touched Bai Tang’s head. “There’s nothing worth comparing.”
Lu Keke said smugly, “Xiao Xinyue, are you scared?”
When it came to magic, no one could compare to Xiao Xinyue. But Bai Tang—she was not sure. Almost instinctively, she wanted to refuse.
Bai Tang’s gaze was firm.
She could do it.
She knew Lu Keke wanted to kidnap her only because she was cute. She was not some mascot. This was the perfect chance to let them see her strength.
Lu Keke smiled and said, “Look, even Xiao Bai can’t wait.”
Xiao Xinyue asked, “Is that so?”
Bai Tang grew a little anxious. She really, really was super powerful.
In the future, she would be even stronger than the little villain.
Xiao Xinyue respected her choice. “You want to compete?”
Bai Tang nodded hard.
“Then compete.”
Xiao Xinyue followed Lu Keke into the courtyard.
Lu Keke looked as though victory was already in her grasp. If she defeated Bai Tang, would that not be equivalent to defeating Xiao Xinyue? Just thinking about it made her feel elated.
Four earthen walls suddenly rose from the ground.
Lu Keke was startled.
Xiao Xinyue said, “Don’t destroy my courtyard.”
It took Lu Keke quite a while to recover.
After entering the inner space enclosed by the earthen walls, Lu Keke said impatiently, “Can we start now?”
Xiao Xinyue looked at Bai Tang, who was just a tiny little ball and seemed even smaller in front of Huozi. She said calmly, “Begin.”
Huozi launched a fireball attack.
Bai Tang used water as a shield and easily neutralized it.
Xiao Xinyue was somewhat surprised. Her understanding of Bai Tang was still stuck on those few little water bubbles. At most, there had been some flower-watering.
Lu Keke said, “You’re pretty capable. But Huozi isn’t limited to just that.”
Bai Tang smiled lightly.
She was going to take the initiative now.
A torrential downpour suddenly fell over Huozi’s head, extinguishing all the flames on its body. Without that ring of fire around it, it looked no different from being bald.
Huozi coughed a few times, only to choke out several mouthfuls of smoke. It could not even spit out fire anymore.
Lu Keke: “…”
It was simply too useless.
Bai Tang spun in place. Even in battle, she had to maintain elegance at all times. She had won, right? She had won, right?
Xiao Xinyue said, “It has already lost its ability to fight. Isn’t your spirit beast a bit too weak?”
Lu Keke: “…”

Xiao Xinyue lowered her eyes and saw Bai Tang staring at her with those beautiful big eyes.
“You want me to praise you?”
Bai Tang nodded.
“That move was learned from me, wasn’t it?”
Bai Tang remembered an unpleasant memory. She had even burned her own fur. She puffed out her cheeks angrily, her deep blue eyes full of resentment.
Xiao Xinyue said awkwardly, “Very impressive.”
Bai Tang froze slightly.
Had she heard wrong?
Xiao Xinyue was not good at giving praise. She repeated those three dry words. “Very impressive.”
Bai Tang smiled, climbed onto her shoulder, and kissed her on the face.
She had said so.
She was super powerful.
Xiao Xinyue: “…”
Hadn’t she said not to kiss her?
