The Mad Beauty Professor Forced Me to Mark Her - Chapter 19
At two in the afternoon on a weekday, the roads in the city were completely smooth. Even the traffic lights were especially considerate and did not make them wait long. With one light press on the accelerator, the car’s speed rose steadily. If there had been a glass of water in the car at that moment, the surface probably would not have shaken at all.
After all, she was driving the boss’s car. The first principle of driving was to ensure safe driving. The second was to make the boss happy and let her sit comfortably in the back seat. For example, when braking, it was best to anticipate in advance, coast to slow down, and control the braking force well to avoid sudden stops affecting the boss’s riding experience.
Qi Si had practically grown eight hundred extra hearts when it came to driving. Her eyes watched all directions as she judged the road conditions, and from time to time, she observed Lin Ye through the rearview mirror. Seeing that Lin Ye had closed her eyes for a short rest, Qi Si changed the music to a soothing piano tune and lowered the volume until it was just enough to cover the noise outside the car.
A shabby little truck sped past in the lane on the left and deliberately honked twice to get their attention.
Qi Si turned her head and glanced over. Seeing the chuunibyou young man inside the little truck roll down the window to hit on them, his tattoo-covered hand raising a middle finger at her, Qi Si was full of question marks.
She was naturally immune to any provocation. She treated it like seeing a fly buzz past, too lazy to bother, and continued driving in her Buddhist manner.
At some point, Lin Ye had opened her eyes. She said coldly, “Overtake him.”
The moment her words fell, Qi Si stepped on the accelerator and charged forward. The engine roared, and her body was slammed back against the driver’s seat. The feeling of weightlessness nearly made her dizzy. In the blink of an eye, the speed shot up to 120, easily leaving that smug little truck far behind.
Qi Si gripped the steering wheel. Her first reaction was to look at Lin Ye. Seeing that Lin Ye was safe and sound, she finally drew in a breath and recovered from the roller-coaster-like stimulation just now.
Lin Ye turned her eyes toward the window and asked her, “Was it fun?”
Qi Si took a deep breath. “You like that sort of thing?”
Lin Ye said, “No.”
Qi Si roughly understood: Lin Ye liked smooth driving and would not seek excitement for the sake of excitement, but if someone provoked her, she would slap them right back on the spot.
…Wasn’t that a pretty good personality? If people did not offend her, she did not offend them. Very principled. Those people at school who said she had a bad personality and was hard to get along with—weren’t they spreading rumors?!
Qi Si controlled the speed and followed the navigation for thirty minutes, arriving at a park in Jinghai’s southern district. She stopped the car steadily in the open parking area.
Lin Ye had not spoken along the way, nor had she asked where Qi Si wanted to take her. Occasionally, she glanced at the scenery by the roadside, but most of the time, she rested with her eyes closed.
It could be seen that her sleep was not stable. Even the slightest movement would make her open her eyes. But when Qi Si parked the car and unbuckled her seatbelt, then turned back to look at her and saw that she was still closing her eyes, she dared to confirm that Lin Ye should be asleep.
Qi Si turned off the music and sat in the front seat playing on her phone for a while.
Until Lin Ye suddenly asked, “We’re here?”
Qi Si obediently put away her phone and gave an “mm.”
Lin Ye lowered her head to look at her watch, and a trace of surprise flashed through her eyes.
She had slept for more than forty minutes? Professor Lin, who had never experienced an afternoon nap before, was unexpectedly satisfied with this ride.
Unexpected, yet also seemingly reasonable.
Lin Ye’s judgment had never been wrong.
“Do you want water? I’ll go buy it for you.” Qi Si turned around, resting her chin on the seatback as she looked at her. The instant their gazes met, she looked away again.
Before Lin Ye could speak, Qi Si seemed to have already guessed the answer and continued asking, “What kind of water? Mineral water? Purified water? Sports drink? Vitamin water?”
Lin Ye said, “Plain water.”
Qi Si made an “OK” gesture, got out of the car, and lowered her head to record the third observation note on her phone: Professor Lin does not like answering questions. She gets impatient with the process of thinking. When asking questions, it is best to provide options A, B, C, and D for her reference. She will answer E.
Scrolling up, the second observation note was a guess about Professor Lin’s sleep quality. The first was a description of her gentle personality and how she always took revenge when wronged.
She made these records not only because she wanted to understand Lin Ye, but also because it was interesting.
Qi Si had not walked far when she came back excitedly and knocked on Lin Ye’s car window.
Lin Ye rolled down the window and narrowed her eyes at her.
Qi Si said, “There’s coffee for sale over there. Handmade and freshly ground, with lots of flavors. Do you want some?”
With the light behind her, the girl’s eyes sparkled. Her long black hair hung beside her ears, beautiful like a little fairy.
Lin Ye stared at her for a while, pushed open the car door, and followed her out into the sunlight.
At first, Qi Si felt embarrassed under Lin Ye’s gaze and took a few steps back, wondering if the suggestion to drink coffee had been too sudden. Only when she saw Lin Ye get out of the car did she settle down and follow behind her, feeling especially good.
The coffee sellers were a couple driving an RV. At a glance, one could tell they were a female Alpha and female Omega pair.
The female Alpha was over thirty-five. Her skin was tanned wheat-brown, and she sat leisurely in an outdoor folding chair with a docile ragdoll cat in her arms. Seeing Lin Ye and Qi Si from afar, she held up the cat’s paw to greet them. “Hello, come have a cup of coffee!”
Her accent was clearly not northern, but sounded like it was from Fujian’s Minnan region or Taiwan.
Lin Ye did not look at her. Qi Si smiled politely, walked over, and scratched the top of the cat’s head. “What a beautiful cat.”
“Not only beautiful, but very obedient. Try holding it.” As the female Alpha spoke, she handed the limp, soft cat toward Qi Si and casually said, “Your girlfriend doesn’t like cats?”
Girl. Friend?
Qi Si’s body stiffened. She looked toward Lin Ye’s back, holding the cat and preparing to explain, only to hear Lin Ye say, “One orange juice Americano. Is there somewhere to sit?”
Qi Si: “…?” Is she too lazy to clarify? She’s not clarifying?
The little cat was not used to being held by a different person, so Qi Si took the chance to return it to the RV owner. The latter stood up eagerly and said to Lin Ye, “There’s a sofa in the RV. Want to sit inside for a while?”
Lin Ye said nothing. Qi Si said with some curiosity, “Can we take a look inside your RV?”
After taking a gap year for an entire year, Qi Si still felt fresh interest toward the traveling lifestyle.
The female Alpha laughed heartily. “Of course. Look around as much as you want. Just don’t steal my wife away.”
Qi Si laughed and curiously glanced at the woman whose pheromone scent was drifting out.
She was a typical Omega woman. She looked young, with a sweet appearance and a full figure. When she spoke, her voice carried the unique charm of an Omega, as if honey had been mixed into it. “You want an orange juice Americano. Would you like it iced or heated? It seems a little cold outside. How about I make it hot for you?”
She was speaking to Lin Ye. Lin Ye gave a slight nod, and out of the corner of her eye, she caught Qi Si looking around.
The female Omega smiled and asked Qi Si, “Little beauty, what would you like to drink?”
Qi Si said politely, “Could you pour me a glass of water?”
“Sure thing.”
Qi Si took the water and stood far away, watching the ragdoll cat roll around at her feet, belly up as it waited to be petted, its beautiful fluffy tail sweeping back and forth.
Qi Si truly had no resistance at all to fluffy things.
Holding the water, she crouched down and gently stroked the ragdoll’s soft belly. The cat cooperatively stretched its body, rubbing its head against her hand.
What a cute little thing.
Qi Si scratched the cat’s forehead with her fingertips, making it so comfortable that it rolled around and even stuck its butt up.
She looked back at Lin Ye. Lin Ye was watching her with a dark expression, showing no emotion, but that did not mean Lin Ye would permit her behavior, right?
Perhaps she did not like Qi Si chatting with strangers?
Perhaps she did not like Qi Si casually touching someone else’s cat outside?
Qi Si could not judge, but she still chose the more cautious approach. After petting the cat, she kept her distance from the family and did not glance at any other Omega.
After taking Lin Ye’s car key and house key, Qi Si believed she had formed some sort of connection with Lin Ye. It was probably like being a high-class pet Lin Ye kept, or perhaps a servant kept by a princess.
She would never be so bold as to think in the direction of “lovers.” Her shallow romantic experience told her that being presumptuous never led to good results, not to mention Lin Ye was a medical school professor, an existence Qi Si could never reach in this lifetime.
Being kept was already very good. Live one day, earn one day of being kept. As long as she hid well and did not affect Lin Ye’s reputation, that was enough.
The female Alpha found two folding chairs from storage, set them up under a tree, and faced them toward the park lake.
Under the sunlight, the lake water showed an indigo blue like something from Monet’s paintings, the shimmering waves seeming to carry a metallic sheen. A flock of wild ducks swam in the water, and beside the reeds, one or two quiet fishermen sat. There was not even the sound of cars passing nearby.
The scenery was picturesque. Lin Ye sat in the chair holding her coffee and looking at her phone. Qi Si moved the other chair a little farther away and was just about to take out her computer when the RV owner invited her, “Want to play poker?”
Qi Si shook her head.
The female Omega said, “Come on, call your girlfriend too! The two of us can’t really play by ourselves. We’re just missing partners!”
Qi Si’s expression twitched. Asking Professor Lin to play poker together? How dare they?
“She’s my boss, not my girlfriend.” Qi Si pointed at the car they had parked. “See? The boss’s car. I wouldn’t be able to drive one in this lifetime.”
The RV couple looked in the direction she pointed and tacitly burst out laughing.
The female Alpha pressed her hands together. “So sorry. Sorry for offending. Your boss is so young, wow. I couldn’t tell at all!”
The female Omega spoke sweetly. “Sorry, boss. Please enjoy slowly!”
Lin Ye ignored them. After finishing her coffee, she got up and walked toward the car. Qi Si consciously followed behind her, even turning back to wave goodbye to the couple.
The female Alpha gave her a thumbs-up, while the sexy Omega mouthed, “Good luck.”
Qi Si jogged ahead of Lin Ye and took out a small flower from behind her back. A single stem was covered in yellow blossoms, pink and tender, especially pretty.
Lin Ye lifted her eyes to look at her. “Where did that come from?”
“I picked it by the roadside just now. You probably didn’t notice. You were too busy looking at the scenery across the shore.”
Lin Ye asked, “Why pick this?”
“To make you happy.” Qi Si tripped over her tongue and enunciated, “Professor Lin, since I’m accompanying you out to have fun, I have to provide a little emotional value, right?”
Lin Ye reached for her phone. “Figured it out?”
Qi Si lowered her eyelids. “Mm.”
Lin Ye said, “Send me your bank card number.”
Qi Si’s face burned for a while, but she showed no sign of taking out her phone. Lin Ye stared at her, and Qi Si said, “Why don’t we… make the rules clear first?”
Lin Ye looked at her with amusement.
Bracing herself, Qi Si said, “It’s better to clarify the rules first. In case one day you regret it, or you start a new relationship, I can get lost at any time, right?”
Perhaps what she wanted to express was that she was not the type to cling endlessly and would not cause Professor Lin too much trouble, but what came out made it sound as if she could not wait to get lost at any moment.
Lin Ye sneered. “Rules—aren’t I the one who makes them?”
Qi Si said, “Mm, not entirely…”
Lin Ye did not listen to her continue rambling. She walked around her, preparing to get in the car. Qi Si followed, threw away the little flower from earlier, and opened the rear door for her.
Along the way, Qi Si no longer dared bring up “rules.” In any case, as long as—
As long as Lin Ye was happy, that was enough.
The car drove into campus. The gate recognized the plate and opened automatically. Qi Si lowered her head to look at the car, afraid of being seen by others. After confirming there was no one around, she got out of the car.
“My dorm is over there. I’ll head back first. Professor Lin, goodbye.” Qi Si picked up her bag, turned, and ran.
She had clearly done nothing, yet it seemed as though simply staying with Lin Ye was a sin.
Young students came and went on campus. Qi Si guiltily buried her head and walked wherever there were fewer people. Before she knew it, she had arrived at a small grove.
Couples kissed beneath the hidden trees. Only when the smell of pheromones entered Qi Si’s nose did she realize something was wrong.
The place was not large, but there was a couple every ten meters. Whenever Qi Si approached, the couples stopped talking. Did they really think other people did not know what they were hugging and doing in this place?
The scent of pheromones had already covered the entire grove!
Qi Si was embarrassed, and so were the others. Some people even glared at her, sizing her up with ill intentions—after all, who would run into a grove for no reason?
This kind of place had already become the default spot for couples in heat to mark each other.
Qi Si was dizzy and heavy-headed, only focused on walking with her head down, when she suddenly heard someone call her. “Yuan Lü!”
Hm? She lifted her head and looked. A figure flashed through the trees. Qi Si smelled a rich pheromone scent, like jasmine mixed with tea fragrance. Faintly, someone was also crying.
Qi Si followed the voice and found a male student letting go of a girl before turning and running. The girl slowly crouched down and cried. Qi Si said, “Do you need help?”
The girl wiped her tears. “I’m fine. My suppressant is in my bag over there. Can you help me get it?”
Qi Si brought the bag to her.
“Thank you.” The girl took out the suppressant and inhaled hard. It took her a long time to recover.
Qi Si asked, “Do you need me to call the police? Who was that just now?”
“A senior. Forget it. Anyway, he didn’t succeed.” The girl touched her neck and stood up calmly. “Thank you so much just now. I’m going back to the dorm. Can you walk me there?”
Qi Si thought about it. “Which dorm building are you in?”
“East District. You can just take me to the East District gate. I shouldn’t have come out today. My heat suddenly came early, and I didn’t expect to run into such an unlucky thing.” As she spoke, she sprayed herself twice more with suppressant, then took out a deodorizing spray and sprayed it all over herself. She asked Qi Si, “Can you still smell it?”
Qi Si said, “No.”
The girl forced out a smile, with leftover tears still at the corners of her eyes. She was not tall, and her features were very delicate. Her straight bangs were cut above her brows, her cheeks were flushed red, and she had a very lovable appearance. After putting away the deodorizer, the girl smiled shyly and asked Qi Si in an ordinary tone, “By the way, why were you here?”
Qi Si said, “Taking a walk.”
“You shouldn’t come here for a walk. I only just found out this place is so hidden. The senior asked me to meet him here. After I came in, I felt something was wrong. Fortunately, I saw you. Don’t tell anyone, okay?”
“Okay. That senior from just now—what’s his name?”
“Lai Gaoyuan. He’s from the student union. I’ll try to avoid him in the future. Next time, I’ll bring some pepper spray too. Damn it, I’m so pissed. That bastard almost took advantage of me!”
For some unknown reason, this Omega classmate trusted Qi Si especially much. She even took the initiative to reach out and hold Qi Si’s arm. She had twisted her ankle and could only walk with support.
Qi Si reminded her, “But I’m also an Alpha. If people see us, they’ll misunderstand.”
“Let them misunderstand. I’d rather people think I’m with you than let that disgusting senior benefit!”
Okay. Looks like her peach blossoms had been rather abundant lately.
Qi Si took out her phone and called her roommate. “My classmate twisted her ankle behind the library. Don’t you have an electric scooter? Can you come help send her back?”
Her sports-student roommate was currently in the middle of heartbreak. Although she casually agreed, she did not really want to go out. She dawdled while preparing to change clothes, then suddenly saw Qi Si’s message in the 602 dorm group: Very pretty female O.
In less than five minutes, the sports student carried the gaming shut-in and arrived before Qi Si like the wind and lightning.
The girl held Qi Si’s arm and said with a smile, “Your roommates are all so cool.”
Qi Si said, “They’re all trendy sisters. I’m the only bumpkin. See which senior sister you want to take you back. Choose your consort.”
The sports student said, “The vehicle is mine. Of course I’m the one sending junior sister back.”
The gaming shut-in played with her head of blue hair and threw a flirtatious glance at her. “Junior sister, choose me.”
The two female Alphas made Qi Si’s classmate laugh until her stomach hurt. In the end, she chose the gaming shut-in, and the two rode away.
The sports student, who had not yet recovered from the sorrow of heartbreak, lay on Qi Si’s shoulder and cried loudly. “Xiao Qi, will no one love me ever again?”
Qi Si said, “Get off.”
“I won’t.” The sports student leaned against Qi Si and sniffed, then suddenly shouted, “Fuck, did you go to the bar again?!”
Qi Si lowered her head and smelled herself. Her roommate’s face had practically slammed into her chest as she inhaled hard. “Holy shit, this is fucking top-grade!”
“Get off me!” Qi Si pushed her head away. “What are you sniffing randomly for?!”
“You smelled like this last time you came back from the bar too! Holy crap! Don’t tell me you already have someone and hid it from your dad!”
Qi Si said, “My dad is paralyzed in bed. Do you want to be paralyzed too?”
“Let me sniff one more time. It’s too intoxicating!”
Qi Si turned and ran.
What kind of psycho roommates were these?
Halfway back, she received a text message.
“See you tomorrow at six-thirty in the evening.”
The phone number’s registered location was Jinghai, and the last six digits were all sixes, giving off the aura of a proper domineering CEO.
The corners of Qi Si’s mouth lifted so high her roommate almost saw them. As she ran, she replied:
“Received!”
