The Mad Beauty Professor Forced Me to Mark Her - Chapter 20
The North District dormitories housed undergraduates, mainly Alphas and Betas. Since there were more Betas, it was easier to arrange dorms by year and major. The Alphas, on the other hand, were mostly patched together by force. One dorm building housed both men and women: male Alphas on floors one through three, female Alphas on floors four through six. No one knew which brainless idiot had arranged it that way. And often, one dorm room would have students from different years and different majors—like Qi Si’s Dorm 602.
The sports student’s name was Meng Yixian. When her parents first named her, they probably never imagined she would differentiate into an Alpha. Such a proper, gentle-lady name had been wasted on a goofy female Alpha whose greatest hobby all day was dating girlfriends and riding her electric scooter around campus with them.
Now that her girlfriend was gone, and her roommate had borrowed her bicycle right in front of her to flirt with a girl, the heartbroken Meng Yixian bought two crates of beer from the living-area supermarket and called Qi Si to help her carry them upstairs.
As the name suggested, Dorm 602 was on the sixth floor, and by coincidence, there was no elevator. Meng Yixian was halfway through carrying the beer when she got so tired she stopped in the stairwell to rest. Just then, a few cheap male Alphas passed by. One of them casually took a bottle of beer from her arms and said cheerfully, “Thanks, sister!”
The beer in her arms did become lighter, but Meng Yixian was about to explode with anger. She howled, “I’ll kill you all!”
The male Alphas walked briskly, laughing and joking. But in the blink of an eye, they ran into Qi Si. Immediately, none of them were laughing anymore, and they voluntarily handed the bottles back to Qi Si.
Qi Si carried the beer and caught up to Meng Yixian. Meng Yixian cursed, “Fuck, how did you do that?”
Qi Si thought for a moment. “…Maybe aura?”
After all, everyone had seen the video of her fighting one against three at Su Moxiao’s house and crippling one of them. People still held three parts of awe toward this famous figure.
Qi Si inserted the bottles the boys had returned back into the crate and arranged them properly. Then she stacked the two crates like a tower and carried them up to the sixth floor in one breath.
Meng Yixian, the sports student, could barely catch up from behind. She happily opened the door for her. “As expected of someone who hiked over snowy mountains. From now on, I’ll submit to no one but you, grandaunt!”
Qi Si had stayed in the hospital for three days for the drug trial. Counting going there on Monday and returning on Friday, she had only been away from the dorm for a few days, but her desk and chair were already covered with her roommates’ clothes.
Qi Si put down the beer, tossed the randomly placed clothes onto another empty bed, and prepared to rummage through her things and organize her clothes.
Meng Yixian hugged a beer bottle and started crying. “Xiao Qi, tell me, what’s wrong with me? Why did my girlfriend break up with me?”
Qi Si said, “Sloppy, lazy, can’t do anything except play basketball. Your family just has a bit of money. After playing around for two days, people got tired of you, I guess.”
Meng Yixian was stunned. “Holy crap, you really said it?”
“Ah, didn’t you ask me?”
Heartbroken, Meng Yixian began gulping down beer. Sitting in the gaming shut-in roommate’s esports chair, she sobbed, “My life is really so bitter… She said she liked buzz cuts, so I cut my hair short. Now she says she likes long hair. How am I supposed to grow long hair for her? Xiao Qi, can I borrow your hair?”
“No,” Qi Si said. “I grew mine out for a whole year too.”
Meng Yixian continued crying. Before long, she had finished two bottles of beer. With nothing else to do, she watched Qi Si for a while and asked, “What are you doing?”
Qi Si had pulled out a jacket she used to wear in high school. Tangled, she asked, “Do you think this can still be worn?”
Meng Yixian spat out a mouthful of beer with a pfft. “Are you kidding me? A Donald Duck jacket?”
All right. Although it still looked wearable, it really was no longer suitable for a university student. After all, the person she was going to meet was Lin Ye.
Qi Si looked over the worn and peeling parts of the hoodie she was wearing. “Then I can’t just… keep wearing this one, right?”
Meng Yixian stood up curiously. “What the hell are you doing? Why are you choosing clothes? Going on a date?”
Qi Si stared at the well-made trench coat Meng Yixian was wearing. Even the stitching on it shimmered silver, making it extremely flashy. It was just that Meng Yixian was too sloppy and could not wear it properly.
Qi Si did not have a coat like that. She had not bought a single decent piece of clothing this year. She tugged at Meng Yixian’s collar. “Yixian, do you have more clothes like this? Can you lend me one to wear tomorrow?”
Meng Yixian, the sucker, jumped in outrage. “On what basis! My scooter has already been borrowed away, and now my clothes can be lent to you too?”
Qi Si said, “Oh, right. Then forget it. I’ll just wear this tomorrow.”
Meng Yixian’s eyes rolled. “Xiao Qi, are you going on a date?”
“Sort of, but also not. What should I wear to meet a pretty older sister?”
Hearing this, Meng Yixian sucked in a breath and generously opened her wardrobe. “Come, pick whatever you want! They’re all high-end goods from the mall. We absolutely cannot let you lose face!”
Meng Yixian was 1.85 meters tall, seven centimeters taller than Qi Si. The clothes she wore were all long coats, mainly emphasizing that when it came to elegance, she had height; when it came to intelligence, she had height; when it came to temperament, she still had height.
Qi Si tried on a black trench coat whose tag had not even been removed. The corner of Meng Yixian’s mouth drooped, little pearls falling from her eyes as she hugged the beer and guzzled it down.
Comparing people really could make someone furious.
The same coat—why did it look like haute couture when Qi Si wore it?
That night, the gaming shut-in roommate also returned, bringing grilled skewers for Qi Si and Meng Yixian while happily talking about what happened after sending the junior sister back to the dorm.
“I treated her to skewers, but she kept talking to me about Xiao Qi. She especially told me to bring back the skewers we didn’t finish for Xiao Qi.”
Meng Yixian held grilled meat in her mouth and laughed until she rolled all over the floor. “Hahahahahahaha, you damn genius! You still can’t tell she likes Qi Si, not you?”
The gaming shut-in did not think so. She touched her nose and said, “Slowly. First use Xiao Qi to get closer, then advance gradually. One day, I’ll win her over!”
As they spoke, Qi Si picked up the warm lamb skewers and stuffed them into her mouth, giving her roommate a thumbs-up. “Vision!”
“Come, cheers! Tonight I’m still counting on you to help me write a cheat script! Whether I can beat the boss today depends entirely on you!”
That night, the three of them drank through two crates of beer. When Meng Yixian climbed into bed, she even fell, and they laughed at her all night.
At eight the next morning, Dorm 602 was awakened by the dorm supervisor auntie knocking on the door for a room inspection. Several prohibited electrical appliances were found and confiscated, and they were photographed and posted on the campus intranet for criticism. The three of them were also punished by being made to clean the dorm building’s common areas.
Meng Yixian said, “It was definitely someone from 601 who did it. If it wasn’t them, I’ll eat shit!”
Qi Si finished checking the surveillance and silently closed her computer. “I’ll go talk to them.”
Compared to Dorm 602’s loving harmony, Dorm 601 spent all day either arguing or cold-warring. Dorm leader Shen Yixuan had not been discharged from the hospital yet. Ji Min and Ai Wen tore into each other every day, while the remaining fence-sitter swayed between both sides and only knew how to cry.
It happened to be Saturday, and there were no classes, so everyone was staying in the dorm. Qi Si knocked on the door. Xu Yuqing opened it. Ai Wen was clanging around as she packed her things, while Ji Min was on her bed using her computer.
Qi Si pulled over a chair and sat in front of Shen Yixuan’s bed, picking up a Marvel hero figurine from the desk to fiddle with.
Xu Yuqing said, “Qi Si, dorm leader will be discharged next week. Come with us to pick her up. She should be very happy.”
Ai Wen cut in. “What ‘you and us’? You people go yourselves. I’m not going!”
Ji Min said, “Go if you want, don’t if you don’t. Stop trying to make your presence known here!”
Ai Wen was so angry she threw her clothes. “Yes, yes, yes! You’re all isolating me, right? At worst, I’ll leave!”
Ji Min said irritably, “Hurry up and leave. No one’s keeping you.”
Xu Yuqing frowned. “Wenwen, don’t be angry. When dorm leader comes back, we can still eat together and go out together.”
Ji Min said, “She’s brain-damaged. Xu Yuqing, don’t talk to her!”
Xu Yuqing said, “Ying.”
Ai Wen said, “What right do you have to stop her from talking to me? You’re bullying me, isolating me. I’m going to tell the counselor!”
Qi Si had not said a single word. Seeing them argue until the room was boiling over, about to escalate into a fight, she decided not to make things worse. She stood up and said, “Ai Wen, are you moving out?”
Perhaps because she had reported their dorm to the supervisor that morning, Ai Wen knew she was guilty. Her tone softened slightly. “If I move out, what does that have to do with you?”
Qi Si said, “Don’t speak too absolutely. In case one day you regret it and want to move back, don’t leave yourself without a way out.”
Ai Wen froze. Tears welled up, and she gritted her teeth. “So what? What does it have to do with you?”
“Oh, it really doesn’t have anything to do with me,” Qi Si said, putting down the figurine. “Actually, you don’t feel confident either. You can’t guarantee that the senior you’re moving in with won’t deceive you, right?”
Xu Yuqing was shocked. “No way, Wenwen. You’re moving out to live with a senior?!”
Ji Min mocked coldly, “Heh, and here I thought you were really rich enough to rent a place outside. Turns out you’re relying on a man!”
Ai Wen was both ashamed and furious. She cursed loudly, packed up her suitcase, strode out of the dorm, and slammed the door hard.
Dorm 601 member count: minus two.
Xu Yuqing sighed. “Wenwen actually isn’t bad. How did she decide to live with a senior in such a short time?”
Ji Min sneered. “Because she’s stupid. If she gets tricked into a pyramid scheme, she’ll have plenty to suffer.”
Qi Si: “…?”
So you deliberately didn’t remind her?
In the morning, they were punished by cleaning the dorm building. At noon, she ate in the cafeteria. In the afternoon, she went to tutor. After finishing, she sprinted back to the dorm, took a shower, changed clothes, and left before her hair was even dry.
At six-twenty, Qi Si was in the underground garage of Shuxiang Garden, crouching in front of Lin Ye’s car and repeatedly reading that text message several times.
A new message popped up on her phone: “Come upstairs.”
Qi Si stood up, walked around to the side of the car, and tidied her hair in the rearview mirror. Then she received Lin Ye’s second message: “Looks good.”
Her heart thumped hard. Qi Si was teased until her legs went weak. Forcing herself to stay calm, she pressed the elevator button and went upstairs.
Several children were playing around in the elevator. Qi Si received the third text message: “Open the door yourself.”
Qi Si pressed the button for the nineteenth floor. After making sure everyone else had gotten out of the elevator, she went down through the stairwell to the seventeenth floor.
Her hand holding the key was still trembling a little. Her heart had climbed into her throat. She had clearly been invited over, yet she was nervous as if she were committing theft.
After several tries, the key finally slid into the keyhole. Qi Si turned the lock and pushed the door open.
The scent of pheromones surged toward her, and Qi Si nearly lost control and rushed inside. It was like falling into a sacred yet sinful Garden of Eden. The rose fragrance shot straight into Qi Si’s mind. In an instant, she completely recalled what Lin Ye had looked like the first time she met her. The mature fruity scent gave off a cloying sweetness, like an invisible hand tightly gripping her spleen and stomach. By the time she came back to herself, she was already half-drunk, as if her nerves had been completely numbed by the pheromones, causing her to nearly lose herself entirely.
“Lin Ye?” Qi Si’s voice was sluggish. She stood at the doorway and observed for a while.
The room was still messy. The little Pomeranian was barking in its cage, and cartoons were playing on the TV. It was reasonable to suspect they were being played for the Pomeranian.
Qi Si walked a few steps inside, avoiding the delivery boxes on the floor. Lin Ye was still the same as ever. There was a pile of packages at home, and she was too lazy to open any of them.
Qi Si casually gathered them to one side and glanced at the recipients. Aside from various pharmaceutical companies and medical journals, there were many packages sent privately. One name, “Lu Zeqing,” caught Qi Si’s attention.
The company where Lin Ye’s research and development team worked was called Lulin Pharmaceuticals. Since Lin was Lin Ye’s surname, Lu must also represent some family.
Lin Ye was putting on makeup in front of the mirror cabinet outside the bathroom. She wore a red velvet dress, graceful and slender. Her long hair had just been styled with a curling iron, every strand bright and glossy, draped lazily over her shoulders.
With her face turned slightly toward the mirror, she was trying to hook a red crystal earring onto her earlobe. When she smelled Qi Si’s scent, the earring swayed slightly and failed to go on.
Qi Si did not know what spell had come over her. She took the initiative to move closer, took the earring from Lin Ye’s hand, moistened her throat, and said, “I’ll do it.”
Lin Ye looked at Qi Si through the mirror, the corner of her lips curving into something like a smile yet not quite a smile. Obediently, she tilted her head to the side, revealing one side of her neck.
“Sister smells so good. Is there another adventure game tonight?” Qi Si tucked Lin Ye’s side hair behind her ear, revealing a complete ear that was slightly flushed.
Small and delicate, white with a rosy tint, as if it could be swallowed in one bite.
How could it be so cute?
Qi Si lowered her eyelids, her attention entirely on Lin Ye’s ear. When she hooked the earring on for her, she could not help brushing aside the stray hairs near Lin Ye’s temple again.
The ticklish feeling made Lin Ye unable to help narrowing her eyes.
Seen through the mirror, Qi Si, with her black hair and black eyes, stood beside Lin Ye and was not completely overshadowed.
Her figure was outstanding, and her eyes carried a calmness and maturity beyond her age. When she stared at Lin Ye, she was so focused it was as if she had gone mad.
Qi Si had no makeup on, but her brows and eyes were clean and bright. Her crow-feather-like lashes lowered, naturally carrying a touch of melancholy.
Lin Ye looked at the girl in the mirror with satisfaction and said, “You guessed again?”
Qi Si said, “Mm. If I didn’t guess, Sister would trick me in circles again.”
From the scent on her body, the makeup she had put on, and the shoes she had already changed into, it could be seen that Lin Ye was preparing to go out—like last time, to go near the night market and kill a few Alphas for fun.
She had called Qi Si over either to be a driver, a bodyguard, or a part-time driver-bodyguard.
Lin Ye chuckled. “The suppressant is on the coffee table. Do you want to use it?”
Qi Si said nothing. Her gaze slipped along Lin Ye’s ear to the fair nape of her neck, where something naturally attracted her.
Lin Ye tugged the collar of her dress backward and said to the mirror, “Or do you want to take a bite?”
Qi Si’s eyelids trembled. “Professor.”
Lin Ye turned her face slightly to look at her. “Suppressants are nowhere near as effective as a real mark. Don’t you want to try and see whether you really can’t?”
Qi Si felt as if even the air she breathed was scalding hot. Was she probably dreaming?
It seemed that the first time she met Lin Ye, in Zhou Danqing’s car, Lin Ye had said something similar.
How had she endured the temptation back then?
Lin Ye… probably just liked watching her in a pathetic, helpless state.
People said that most medical students were psychologically abnormal. They studied human anatomy, organs, hormones, and the beastly nature controlled by genes.
In Lin Ye’s eyes, Qi Si might be no different from a corpse stripped naked and lying on an operating table waiting to be dissected.
So she seduced, toyed with, and wanted to watch Qi Si walk step by step toward destruction.
Qi Si’s eyes reddened. When she lifted her face and looked at Lin Ye, her voice was almost pleading. “Sister.”
Lin Ye froze. Her gaze softened. Then she caught Qi Si’s hand, held it with both of hers, lifted it, and placed one of Qi Si’s index fingers into her mouth. Lowering her head, she licked it slowly and seriously.
The meaning seemed to be that this cynical woman had finally realized she had gone too far and wanted to offer a tiny bit of compensation with this.
What virtue or ability did Qi Si have?
Her whole body felt as though electricity had run through it, crawling from her fingertip through every inch of space in her veins. It was as if the inducer injected into her at the hospital two days ago had taken effect late and was completely activated at this moment.
Fear made her unable to help trying to pull her hand back. Lin Ye raised her head. Her long hair parted before her forehead, and her lips glistened with moisture. She smiled faintly, yet not quite. “You don’t like it?”
Qi Si wanted so badly to touch her hair. That fluffy, freshly curled hair carried a slight frizzy texture that attracted her especially much.
If she could touch Lin Ye once, dying would not be a pity.
Qi Si said softly, “I like it.”
Lin Ye looked at her playfully.
Qi Si said, “This sort of thing should be done by me.”
Lin Ye said, “Not today. But you can make a mark first.”
Meaning: marking was allowed, but foreplay was not.
Coming from a medical professor, these words actually held a bit of reason.
“I’m not that thirsty.” Qi Si lowered her eyes. “The suppressant is enough.”
The corner of Lin Ye’s lips curved. She pulled a tissue from beside the mirror cabinet and wiped Qi Si’s hand.
Qi Si was terrified and pressed down on Lin Ye’s hand. “I’ll do it myself.”
Lin Ye: “?”
Qi Si said, “Can I… not wipe it? I want to keep it as a memento.”
Lin Ye nearly failed to hold back her laughter. She went into the room and took an outer coat. Qi Si reminded her, “It’s very cold outside.”
It was already late autumn, and late at night besides. Wearing only a dress with an outer coat definitely would not do.
Besides, the last few times Qi Si had seen Lin Ye, she had worn soft, fluffy sweaters. That was enough to prove she was afraid of the cold. Going out like this would definitely freeze her.
Lin Ye said, “There’s heating in the car.”
Qi Si insisted, “Take a down jacket. You can wear it in the car too. I’m afraid you’ll be cold, and I’m even more afraid I won’t be able to control myself.”
For the first time, Lin Ye lost to a little brat. She watched helplessly as Qi Si rummaged through the bedroom wardrobe and found a down jacket to drape over her.
Before leaving, Qi Si did not forget to remind her, “Did you bring your tools?”
Lin Ye: “?”
Qi Si said, “The tools of the crime. You think I don’t know what you’re going to do tonight?”
Lin Ye took a syringe from her pocket and poked the needle to scare Qi Si.
Qi Si hid far away. “I surrender. Don’t stab me. I might still want to continue my bloodline someday.”
At eight o’clock, Qi Si parked the car in the busy downtown area.
At eight twenty-seven, a drunk Alpha on the street pestered two young girls and failed.
Lin Ye sat in the passenger seat and said to Qi Si, “Follow him.”
Traffic police were checking for drunk driving by the roadside. Qi Si cooperated with the inspection while taking out her license to show him.
Lin Ye took a drag from her cigarette, exhaled smoke, and said to the traffic officer, “Let me blow too.”
After blowing bright red, Lin Ye exhaled toward the officer’s face, smugly tossed away the cigarette, and left.
Qi Si could hardly bear to look. Professor Lin really was serious when she went crazy. As long as no one recognized her and she had no idol baggage, it seemed she could do anything.
Qi Si stepped on the accelerator and took the embarrassing Lin Ye away, then stopped at a convenience store to buy water.
At nine forty-two, Lin Ye got out of the car and successfully baited over the drunk Alpha from before.
Qi Si watched from not far away, anxious like a bear waiting for winter to pass, her fingers constantly tapping the steering wheel.
The drunk Alpha followed the pheromone scent and found Lin Ye. Lin Ye injected the syringe into the Alpha’s gland and left gracefully.
Qi Si drove the car over, unwilling to let Lin Ye walk even half an extra step.
After every shot, they changed locations. Each target Lin Ye chose was very clear: usually bottom-level Alphas from impoverished areas, most of them unemployed vagrants or habitual petty thieves.
Clearly, Lin Ye hated Alphas. That was why she chose, before these people committed crimes, to strangle their ability to commit crimes in the cradle.
This operation was somewhat similar to animal associations’ stray cat capture programs—specifically, capturing stray cats to sterilize them, thereby controlling the number of stray cats and reducing vicious competition among them.
Only Lin Ye’s method was more extreme and direct. If someone caught her with evidence, perhaps her reputation would be utterly ruined.
At twelve seventeen, after completing two cases in a row, Qi Si suggested, “Can we call it a night?”
But Lin Ye had already locked onto her new target.
At the bar where Qi Si used to work, this was precisely the liveliest time of the nightlife.
Zhou Danqing, dressed in fur, escorted a man in a suit and leather shoes to the entrance, smiling and waving goodbye.
