A Vicious Scum Alpha in a Heartthrob Novel - Chapter 15
Xu Qingshui wanted to ask for clarification, but remembering Fu Jinghua’s frost-covered face and the fact that she seemed angry upon leaving, she figured the woman probably didn’t want to see her right now. After a moment’s thought, she let it be.
Due to the requirements of her “persona,” she still had to go see the original owner’s “friends” today.
The original owner was an undeniable playboy. Although the family was wealthy, their fortune came purely from catching the right wave at the right time; they lacked a deep heritage. Most of the old aristocracy viewed her as a joke. Despite knowing this, the original owner never left that social circle, desperate to prove her value within her own family.
Xu Qingshui understood the motivation but didn’t agree with the method. One needs actual strength before worrying about fitting into a circle, especially in a situation like the original owner’s.
She picked out a black wool overcoat, her expression unconsciously turning a bit cold. After some deliberation, she decided not to bother telling Fu Jinghua she was heading out.
Xu Qingshui drove to the bar. As she entered the private booth, the cacophony inside seemed to hit a pause button.
The first person Xu Qingshui noticed was a woman sitting in the dead center of the sofa. She had willow-leaf brows and a classic oval face, appearing quite quiet and refined, but her eyes were slightly upturned, and the look she gave Xu Qingshui was anything but friendly.
Xu Qingshui immediately realized this was a “Hongmen Banquet” (a trap).
According to the original plot, Fu Jinghua had many suitors. Among them was a powerful and wealthy individual from the original owner’s circle named She Qing. She had long harbored a silent love for Fu Jinghua, but since Fu Jinghua liked no one, She Qing’s past confession had gone nowhere. Later, she would employ a series of tactics—including using her power to sabotage Fu Jinghua’s career and eventually kidnapping Fu’s grandmother—to force them together.
In short, she was a psychopath.
A normal person can’t fathom a psychopath’s logic, but the woman’s eyes clearly broadcasted her displeasure. When the original owner and Fu Jinghua married, She Qing had been busy abroad and couldn’t make it back. Now that her business was handled, she returned to find Fu Jinghua married—and to the very person she looked down on most, Xu Qingshui.
Her fury was predictable. No wonder they had used every excuse over the phone to get her to come here.
The silence lasted only a moment before someone, half-pushing and half-pulling, sat Xu Qingshui down on the sofa, right to the left of She Qing. Xu Qingshui didn’t resist; she wanted to see what She Qing was planning.
To her surprise, She Qing didn’t try to intimidate her at first. She just made her drink.
“Come, drink.”
Drinking was nothing to Xu Qingshui. She finished a glass, and only then did she hear She Qing speak:
“On the first night… how was it with Fu Jinghua? Did you guys have sex? How did you do it? Was it comfortable?”
Xu Qingshui: “…”
This person is a psycho.
Xu Qingshui asked, “What does that have to do with you?”
She Qing replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world, “I chased Fu Jinghua for so long only to be beaten to the punch by you. I should at least get to know what she’s like.”
The room erupted in a burst of laughter. Xu Qingshui frowned in visceral disgust. This wasn’t just a lack of respect for her; it was a profound disrespect toward Fu Jinghua.
This is the person chasing Fu Jinghua?
Xu Qingshui stood up, deciding then and there: “That is none of your business.”
She turned to walk toward the door, her intent clear. But a second later, a hand clamped down hard on her shoulder. It was She Qing. Her expression turned vicious. “What, you’re unwilling?”
No normal person would be willing to discuss such things with a virtual stranger. Xu Qingshui’s moral compass might not be sky-high, but it wasn’t that low either.
She took a deep breath and couldn’t help but snap, “Is this how you like Fu Jinghua? Exposing her privacy in front of everyone—this is your ‘way’ of liking someone?”
The room went silent for a beat, then exploded into mocking laughter. Only the female companions who had been brought along looked at Xu Qingshui with stunned expressions, their gazes carrying a strange, unidentifiable emotion.
“Who cares what an Omega thinks? Xu Qingshui, have you lost your mind? You’re an Alpha—why are you talking all this ‘righteous’ nonsense? You’re embarrassing us!”
“An upstart family is just an upstart family. An Alpha acting all timid and finicky like an Omega. Hey, are you sure you aren’t actually an Omega?”
“With skin that delicate, maybe she really is.”
As the speaker stepped forward, actually reaching out to touch Xu Qingshui, her frown deepened. She didn’t hesitate to release her pheromones.
Based on her recent check-up, she knew her pheromone grade was high. In the ABO world, strength is determined by pheromones. While this body belonged to the original owner, Xu Qingshui didn’t know her original strength, but she knew her own pheromones were enough to handle these people.
Sure enough, the arrogant Alphas’ faces instantly contorted in pain. She Qing fared slightly better, though beads of sweat began to form on her forehead. The pressure of the pheromones rendered them speechless, leaving them only able to glare at Xu Qingshui with resentment.
Xu Qingshui looked at She Qing, her lips—reddened from the wine—parting to say softly, “Psychopath.”
She walked straight out of the booth, leaving behind a frantic, fuming She Qing.
Psychopath?! No one had ever dared to call her that. How did Xu Qingshui dare? What gave her the right? Was it those disgusting pheromones or that fragile, Omega-like face?
She Qing felt a surge of stifled rage. Due to the pheromone suppression, she couldn’t move yet, forced to watch as the Alpha left.
Xu Qingshui walked out of the booth, through the crowd, and left the noisy bar. In a corner she didn’t notice, someone secretly snapped a photo of her.
After seeing She Qing, Xu Qingshui’s outlook changed. She had originally wanted Fu Jinghua to find true love after all this ended, but looking at the quality of the “suitors” and the general environment… it was all trash.
Irritation rose in her heart. She couldn’t just let the plot develop naturally. Regardless of their “contractual” nature, she and Fu Jinghua shared some history. Xu Qingshui wasn’t the type to ignore her lovers; she would protect the woman until all the dust settled.
Having made up her mind, she felt much more relaxed. Since Fu Jinghua wasn’t home, she decided to drive around aimlessly. Before long, a call came in.
She looked at the caller ID: “Family.”
Xu Qingshui raised an eyebrow. Although she didn’t expect much kindness, she answered. She rolled down the window, letting the wind rush into the car. “Yes?”
The person on the other end heard the wind and paused. “I heard you insulted the heir of the She family and suppressed her with your pheromones?”
Xu Qingshui didn’t expect news to travel that fast. She was stunned for a second, then quickly replied, “Yes. She wanted me to give details about being with Fu Jinghua. It was degrading—not only did she look down on me, she looked down on our family. I couldn’t help it, so I taught her a lesson.”
She summarized the events, expecting anger. Instead, she heard:
“Well done.”
Xu Qingshui was shocked. According to the original owner’s memories, her family didn’t treat her very well—at best, they weren’t overly harsh. This was the first time she had received such direct encouragement. “You… don’t blame me?”
The voice replied, “Why would I blame you? I told you long ago not to associate with those fair-weather friends, but you wouldn’t listen. Now, this is more like it. Your parents miss you; if you’re free, come home for a visit. Stop acting like a spoiled child at your age.”
Listening to the stern but caring words, Xu Qingshui blinked, her voice turning slightly thick. “Okay.”
Meanwhile, a message popped up on Fu Jinghua’s phone.
—Xu Qingshui went to see She Qing.
Fu Jinghua was currently on set. Seeing the message, she searched her memories for who She Qing was. Once she remembered, her brow knit into a tight knot.
How could Xu Qingshui be involved with that scumbag? Was that who she was talking to on the phone this morning?
Disgust flooded her heart. Had the Alpha been faking it all this time?
The staff nearby felt Fu Jinghua’s low aura and held their breath, not daring to provoke her. The makeup artist hesitated, unsure whether to step forward.
The “Best Actress” in a rage was truly terrifying.
Fu Jinghua sensed their apprehension and forced her emotions down, her tone softening. “I’m fine. I just saw that my cat at home had a fall. Please continue with the makeup; it won’t affect the schedule.”
The staff resumed their work.
