After Rebirth, I Became the Richest Woman - Chapter 10
Inside Qiran Technology’s conference room, Ding Qi, Qin Moyan, and Yu Qing each signed their names on a contract.
After leaving Qiran Technology, Qin Moyan said softly, “Miss Yu, aren’t you afraid Ye Xinuo will blame you if she finds out you left her behind and cooperated with me?”
Yu Qing said calmly, “The old master’s will left me assets and funds. Nuonuo knows that. Since she couldn’t persuade the other directors to invest in Qiran, there’s nothing wrong with me making a move. People always have to think for themselves, don’t they?”
Qin Moyan said nothing more. After saying goodbye to Yu Qing, she drove away.
Yu Qing could not help frowning. After these few interactions with Qin Moyan, she kept feeling that Qin Moyan was not quite the same as the rumors said.
In the billiard room.
“Xiao Yan, you asked me to return to China and join the game studio under Yesheng. What exactly are you planning?” Ning Han had a lollipop in her mouth and sat casually on the table. Her brownish-gray hair made her face look especially fair.
Qin Moyan narrowed one eye to aim and sank a ball with one shot. “Other than making money, do I need another reason?”
“We practically grew up together. Don’t use that kind of excuse to brush me off. Although I don’t know why you’re helping Yesheng this time, since you’re offering me such good terms, I won’t refuse for the sake of the money.” Ning Han jumped down from the table and stretched lazily. “Why isn’t Ding Qi here yet? Making someone who doesn’t know how to play billiards just watch from the side is way too boring.”
Qin Moyan said, “Even if he comes, he’ll only be watching anyway.”
Ning Han said, “Has anyone ever told you that you’re shameless?”
Qin Moyan cleared the last ball, straightened up, and said, “That’s simply the truth. It is lonely at the top.”
“It really is cold outside.” Ding Qi walked in with his arms wrapped around himself. When he saw Qin Moyan, he immediately said without ceremony, “I don’t even have money to buy instant noodles anymore. Rich lady, give me some spending money.”
“Well, here comes someone even more shameless.” Ning Han took the lollipop from her mouth and waved it in front of Ding Qi. “Pretty boy, smile for me, and I’ll reward you with a bite of candy.”
“Why are you back?” Ding Qi was first a little surprised, then smiled wickedly. “Did that cyber policewoman let you off?”
Ning Han’s face immediately fell. “Of course she doesn’t know I’m back. But I can’t keep hiding outside forever, can I? I really don’t want to eat the British Empire’s fish and chips anymore.”
Ding Qi said, “If you ask me, you should just offer yourself to her. Maybe you’ll go from hacker to police family member.”
Ning Han smacked Ding Qi hard on the head. “Shut up!”
“Are you two very free?” Qin Moyan swept a glance over them.
“Not free, not free. Our company is fully complying with the leader’s instructions and is intensively developing the next-generation chip.” Ding Qi gave a salute and began reporting the project progress in a convincing manner.
Ning Han squatted off to the side out of boredom and started playing a mobile game.
There were many sheets of A4 paper spread across Ye Xinuo’s desk. As she read, she asked, “How is it?”
Yu Qing answered, “The Y1 team’s departure is indeed related to Tang Jie. Director Tang seems to have shares in Qinhan Games. He has entered and left private clubs with Qinhan’s president several times.”
Ye Xinuo put down the document in her hand, closed her eyes, and used two fingers to gently rub the ends of her brows counterclockwise. “Clinging to Yesheng’s shares on one side while trying to hollow Yesheng out on the other. How twisted.”
Yu Qing asked in confusion, “How did you think to investigate Director Tang? In my opinion, he put on a very convincing act. I never thought before that he would betray the company.”
Ye Xinuo smiled faintly. “Just take it as a woman’s sixth sense.”
Yu Qing did not press further and only said, “Yunfeng Investment has already signed the contract with Ding Qi. I just don’t understand why you had me step forward.”
“Qin Moyan is always more tolerant toward people who aren’t qualified to become her opponents.” Ye Xinuo leaned back in her chair and opened her eyes to stare at the light.
“You sound like you understand Qin Moyan very well,” Yu Qing muttered.
Ye Xinuo smiled without speaking.
Thinking about it carefully, in her previous life, Qin Moyan had always shown mercy to her. But as for the reason behind it, Ye Xinuo had never been able to guess. In any case, temporarily hiding her own strength would do no harm.
A moment later, Ye Xinuo suddenly stood up from her chair. “Let’s go.”
“Hm?” Yu Qing looked confused. “Go where?”
“To have dinner with an old friend.”
Ye Xinuo and Yu Qing arrived at a private detective agency. The décor was extremely luxurious. The receptionist led them to a reception room. Before long, a beautiful woman wearing square-framed glasses entered. “Well, well, what wind blew our Teacher Ye here?”
Ye Xinuo rolled her eyes at her. “I’m here today as a client.”
The woman with square-framed glasses immediately straightened her collar, lightly cleared her throat, and sat down. With a rather formal nod, she said, “May I ask how I can help you?”
Ye Xinuo said, “I want you to help me investigate three people, especially their relationships, or rather, the points where they intersect.”
The woman with square-framed glasses said in a formulaic tone, “Then Miss Ye, please first pay a ten-percent deposit. Will you be paying by check, cash, or bank transfer?”
Ye Xinuo took out a checkbook, wrote down a number, and slid it across the table to the woman with square-framed glasses.
The woman picked it up and looked at it, then put it into her pocket with satisfaction.
Ye Xinuo smiled and shook her head. “Now that the roleplay is over, why don’t you introduce yourselves?”
The woman with square-framed glasses looked at Yu Qing, her eyes shining. “This beautiful young lady, my name is Ni Anxin. I am an outstanding private detective. If you ever have cases such as a cheating husband, a murdered relative, or a missing child, you’re welcome to come to me.”
Yu Qing’s brow twitched. “My name is Yu Qing. I’m the special assistant to the president of Yesheng Group.” In her heart, she thought, This name, Ni Anxin—‘you can rest easy’—does sound rather auspicious. But probably no one wants to encounter those kinds of cases.
Ye Xinuo picked up the bag on the table. “Great Detective, it’s about mealtime. Want to eat together?”
Ni Anxin shook her head. “It is currently working hours. I cannot leave my post without permission.”
Ye Xinuo laughed dryly a few times. “Other than me, do you have any other clients this month?”
“Of course I do!” Ni Anxin stood up excitedly with her hands on her hips. “You look down on me too much! Ah Huang, who mysteriously disappeared; the young girl who changed her heart for no reason; the long johns that vanished mysteriously while hanging on the balcony—there are many cases waiting for me to solve!”
“You really are busy! Hehehehehe.” Ye Xinuo smiled without warmth. “May I ask how old that young girl is?”
“She’s six! Already at an age where she can privately pledge herself for life!”
Yu Qing clenched her teeth, trying hard not to laugh. What kind of living treasure was this?
“All right, all right, I know your business is very busy.” Ye Xinuo nodded. “Then I won’t disturb you. Sister Yu Qing and I are going to eat spicy crayfish.”
“Thinking about it carefully, people are iron and rice is steel. No matter how busy work is, one still has to eat. Let’s go.”
Yu Qing blinked and sighed inwardly that this “great detective” must have a built-in flash skill. The person who had been in front of them just now had already opened the door several meters away.
