Transmigrating into a Scumbag Alpha, a Dainty Omega is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 29
Xiao Yun moved Jiang Cha’s hand to her own neck, supported her soft waist with one hand, and hooked her knees with the other, lifting her out of the pool.
Liao Yanyan still signaled the cameras to follow them.
“I said, stop filming. Director Liao, please show us some respect.”
Xiao Yun’s gaze swept over Liao Yanyan’s head like a sharp, cold wind. Liao Yanyan immediately put on a smile. “Yes, yes, Miss Xiao. Please, carry on.”
Xiao Yun ignored her, carrying Jiang Cha straight toward the bedroom.
What now?
First, Liao Yanyan definitely thought she was rushing back to mark her. Second, asking for suppressants now would be as good as telling everyone: Hello, Jiang Cha and I are having a conflict, I don’t want to mark her, or I’m incapable of marking her, or our marriage is a total sham.
Where was she supposed to find suppressants?
Xiao Yun carried the scalding-hot, soaking-wet woman into the room and locked the door. She placed the burning little figure gently on the bed, momentarily at a loss.
Jiang Cha was in a daze. Her shawl had fallen off at some point, revealing her chest which was flushed deep red; pool water pooled in the hollow of her collarbone. Xiao Yun’s scalp tingled. She had to change her clothes first, then find suppressants. She pulled a white quilt over Jiang Cha to cover her.
She turned and stepped out to call for concierge service.
Jiang Cha, half-opening her eyes, heard their dialogue.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
“I need a set of new clothes. Please bring them up as soon as possible.”
Xiao Yun waited for the clothes to be delivered, wrapped herself in a spare coat, locked the door from the outside, and sprinted downstairs. Fortunately, in this world, temporary suppressants were sold everywhere. She bought them, avoided the cameras and the director, and hurried back to the room.
The villa butler was standing formally at the door with the fresh clothes. Xiao Yun snatched them, thanked him, and swept back into the room like a whirlwind.
Inside, the lights had been turned off at some point. As soon as she entered, a powerful scent of roses hit her. It was as if she were standing in a literal sea of roses—the scent was unique and intoxicating. If she were an Alpha, she would have been completely entranced. No one could resist the pheromones of a top-tier Omega.
Jiang Cha knew this, too.
As Xiao Yun reached for the light switch, a cold blade pressed against her waist. The Omega’s voice was icy: “Don’t move.”
Xiao Yun didn’t react in time, feeling a sudden chill behind her. Then, Jiang Cha kicked the back of her calves. Xiao Yun’s legs buckled, and she collapsed to the floor. Jiang Cha deftly straddled her, pinning her down with one hand around her neck and a pair of scissors in the other, the blades pressed against her ribs.
“Miss Xiao.” Jiang Cha slid the scissors upward, stopping at the second rib below her left breast.
Xiao Yun’s heart nearly jumped out of her chest. She knew from the book that Jiang Cha was conniving, but she hadn’t expected her to be this lethal.
She took a breath. “Miss Jiang, don’t be reckless.”
Jiang Cha was sitting on her, her skin burning hot, their wet clothes sticking together.
“Don’t move. As a doctor, you should know exactly what is located here… I want to ask you a question.” Jiang Cha’s weak voice came from above. Having adjusted to the dark, Xiao Yun could see her eyes, bright as glass—like a wild tigress stalking prey.
Clearly, she could barely even hold the scissors steady.
“Is there any question that can’t be discussed while sitting up properly?” Xiao Yun asked. Moreover, she was currently in heat. She remained motionless, answering cautiously.
“Don’t try to distract me. You haven’t answered.” Jiang Cha moved, her skin rubbing against Xiao Yun’s, sending a tingle through her body. Her long hair cascaded down, tickling Xiao Yun.
“You haven’t asked yet,” Xiao Yun said, feeling wronged. Jiang Cha must be delirious from the fever.
The cold blades wobbled. “Xiao Yun, why did you choose to marry me?”
“I told you before, we both get what we need.”
“No. Why me? Why not someone else?” Jiang Cha pressed, her damp skin shifting against her.
Xiao Yun couldn’t answer. It was the original host who had been predatory and forced the marriage. She couldn’t account for that.
“Speak!” The “little kitten” shouted at her fiercely.
Xiao Yun held her breath. Recalling the plot, this “ancestor” really was heartless. She was frustrated and tired of this. In the dark, Xiao Yun reached out, snatched the scissors, and used her leg to shove Jiang Cha off her.
She must have hit a sensitive spot, as Jiang Cha let out a pained groan. Still possessing some “tender feelings for the fair sex,” Xiao Yun flipped the position, pinning Jiang Cha to the floor, straddling her, and pinning her wrists down.
“Say what?” Xiao Yun knew she was in heat, so she took a firm tone. “You little ingrate.”
Xiao Yun pressed down lightly but kept her body at a distance, not truly sitting on her. Unlike Jiang Cha, who had sat quite heavily and moved around.
“How… how have I…?” Jiang Cha panted, her voice breaking.
Xiao Yun leaned down close to her ear and answered softly: “I get you suppressants in your heat, I send your teddy bear across the country when you can’t sleep, I coax you to eat when you have no appetite, and I keep the dogs away because you’re scared of them.”
Jiang Cha’s breathing hitched. She went silent.
“If I wanted to do something to you, with your strength, what do you think you could do?” A fragile Omega whose waist goes soft with one touch trying to fight an Alpha for strength? Xiao Yun blew a stray hair out of her face in annoyance.
In the silence, Xiao Yun worried something was wrong and used the remote to turn on the lights. The light was blinding, but Jiang Cha’s eyes were even more so. Her gaze was blurred, looking at Xiao Yun piteously. Her messy bangs covered her beautiful face, her red lips were parted and damp, her breath came in gasps, and her body was twisting restlessly. In this position, she looked like someone who had been loved into a daze; her face was flushed with the erotic haze of pheromones.
Worse, their skin was pressed together in an ungraceful tangle.
Xiao Yun didn’t care about grace. She looked into Jiang Cha’s eyes. “Have you thought it through?”
Jiang Cha stared back, her voice intermittent. “Suppressants for my heat, a bear for my insomnia, feeding me, leashing dogs… You’re doing all this just to get me to lower my guard.”
What a defense. Xiao Yun took a breath. “And why would I want you to lower your guard?”
Jiang Cha’s cheeks flushed deeper. “To take the opportunity… to make me… bear a child for the Xiao family. To carry on the lineage.”
Well, the original host had planned that.
“You Alphas are all the same. You trick people into having kids, then you stop caring, you throw them away. My dad did it, your dad did it, and you will too.”
“What on earth are you talking about?” Xiao Yun looked at her, confused.
“I wanted a perfect family, too. To marry an Alpha, have kids, live an ordinary life. I don’t want to be a tool. Xiao Yun, you won’t succeed.”
Xiao Yun went silent. She almost coughed up blood from frustration.
“Fine. If that’s what you think, I can’t help you.”
Xiao Yun looked down at her, her voice husky. Her red jade earrings swayed, making Jiang Cha’s eyes ache. Jiang Cha felt her mind and words were out of control, but she felt she had finally forced Xiao Yun to show her true colors.
Too bad. What use was it?
Xiao Yun reached for the back of her own neck. Jiang Cha heard the sound of the blocker patch being peeled off. She knew without looking—once the Alpha’s pheromones were released, she would be seduced, controlled, and possessed.
Xiao Yun deftly tore off the patch and threw it in front of her like a provocation. Then, her red lips slowly descended. The Alpha’s aura was unstoppable. I shouldn’t have challenged an Alpha, Jiang Cha thought. She closed her eyes in despair.
After a moment, she didn’t feel an Alpha’s pheromone attack. Instead, she felt Xiao Yun’s neck, which was burning hot, pressing gently against the right side of her own neck.
“Look.” Xiao Yun nudged her head against her. “Look at it.”
Why does an Alpha want someone to look at their gland before marking them? Jiang Cha opened her eyes angrily and turned her head. Her nose almost touched Xiao Yun’s neck.
Wait. Where was the gland?
Xiao Yun had no gland. The back of her neck was perfectly smooth, with only the slight protrusion of the cervical vertebrae. It was white, with no red, swollen scent gland at all.
Jiang Cha’s heart skipped a beat. She recalled that during her previous heats, this “Alpha” had been unusually calm. She was stunned. “You…”
Xiao Yun sighed, rolled off her, and sat by her side with a look of melancholy. “Did you see clearly?”
Xiao Yun took out the suppressants she had bought and began preparing the injection. Her movements were practiced and swift. Soon, she had the syringe ready, flicked out the air bubbles, and a few drops of medicine wet her fingertips.
Jiang Cha lay on the floor, staring at the needle. “You just…”
“I just went to get you medicine, you ingrate.” Xiao Yun turned around. “Give me your hand.”
Jiang Cha obediently extended her wrist. As the medicine was slowly injected, Jiang Cha felt a slight sting. She changed the subject: “So you are…”
A Beta?
Xiao Yun finished the injection, not knowing how to answer. In her rush to gain trust by revealing her secret, she had forgotten to act piteous. She stood up to dispose of the trash. When she turned back to answer, Jiang Cha’s eyes were closed and her breathing was shallow. She had fallen asleep.
Xiao Yun carried her to the bed. Her hand brushed against the wet clothes. She looked down at the soft curves of the Omega and remembered: “Jiangjiang? You haven’t changed yet. Can you wake up for a second?”
Sleeping in wet clothes made one prone to illness. As a doctor, Xiao Yun knew this well. But should she change her?
Xiao Yun gulped down some water, staring at the woman. The Omega’s dense pheromones hadn’t fully dissipated yet; she radiated an intoxicating fragrance. The touch of her warm, damp skin made Xiao Yun’s entire body tense up.
“Jiangjiang.”
Xiao Yun placed her gently on the bed, her head still cradled in Xiao Yun’s arm, forcing her to lean over. The Omega’s beautiful eyelashes flickered, her red lips were slightly parted, and her face still carried the erotic flush of the heat.
“Mm…” Jiang Cha frowned and let out a soft moan, her arms wrapping around Xiao Yun’s neck, refusing to let go. She even pulled Xiao Yun closer.
Xiao Yun was also wearing her wet swimsuit. Being pulled like that, their damp, warm bodies pressed together. She could feel the heat through her chest. The Omega’s sexy, lush red lips were only half an inch away. Xiao Yun didn’t dare breathe.
Good heavens, who could withstand this? Xiao Yun thought, but then she suddenly remembered a line from the original book: “You’re a Beta? Hahaha, you wanted me to have your child? Can you even mark me? Do you even have pheromones? Are you even fertile?”
The triple-threat of death questions shattered the “Beta’s” pride like a fragile vase. The heat and emotion of the moment vanished instantly, replaced by sheer panic. She had to escape the ancestor’s embrace.
“Jiangjiang, let go.” She hoped to wake her up. But Jiang Cha seemed to love clinging to things—Bunny, Xiao Yun’s arm, and now her neck.
The Omega pursed her lips and murmured: “Bunny… don’t be afraid… kiss me…” Her red lips puckered slightly as she leaned in.
“Kiss? Kiss what? Ancestor, please have mercy.” To protect her face from being “disfigured” by a misunderstanding later, Xiao Yun grabbed the Bunny bear and shoved it against Jiang Cha’s face.
“Sister Jiang, I’m Bunny. Kiss kiss, mwah mwah,” Xiao Yun said in a high-pitched, childish voice.
A moment later, she sat in a chair and sighed. She realized she had accomplished nothing—she was supposed to change her clothes. Despite being a Beta, given the plot, she didn’t dare strip Jiang Cha herself. She called the villa’s butler.
A young Omega butler entered, looking timidly at Xiao Yun. “Miss Xiao, how can I help?”
Xiao Yun grabbed some fresh clothes. “Please give my wife a sponge bath and change her into clean clothes.”
“Yes, Miss.”
The butler was young and unlikely to gossip. Relieved, Xiao Yun went into the bathroom to shower and change. When she came out, she timed it so the Omega should be finished. She was wearing loose blue pajamas. The butler turned to her: “Miss Xiao, she’s changed.”
Xiao Yun glanced over. Jiang Cha looked peaceful, her face framed by her long, waterfall-like hair. She was wearing a pink ruffled nightgown with long sleeves and a long skirt; only her fair hands and feet were exposed. Jiang Cha’s feet were tucked together, her legs slightly curled.
“Thank you. That will be all.”
“You’re welcome, Miss Xiao. Call me if you need anything.”
The room went quiet. Xiao Yun looked at the clock: 2:30 AM. This little ancestor is truly exhausting. She was tired, too. Thankfully, the villa had a sofa. She tucked Jiang Cha in, grabbed a thin blanket for herself, and fell asleep on the sofa.
Xiao Yun woke up at 8:00 AM. Day two of the itinerary was starting. Her first glance was at Jiang Cha. She walked over and quickly checked her temperature. It was normal. But today was not a good day for a variety show.
She went downstairs to get breakfast and ask for a day off. Liao Yanyan and her crew were in the living room. When they saw Xiao Yun, they looked at her with a strange mix of fear—as if she had committed some great atrocity.
Xiao Yun coughed. Last night, she had been “bad,” telling them to stop filming when they wouldn’t.
“Miss Xiao, coming down for breakfast?” Liao Yanyan smiled at her.
“Yes. By the way, Director Liao, Jiang Cha isn’t feeling well. We won’t be filming today. We’d like to take a day off. Sorry about that.”
Liao Yanyan’s eyes narrowed. “If you don’t go today, there won’t be… any explanation for it.”
“What explanation?” Xiao Yun took some sandwiches, milk, and porridge while staring at her. “Sorry, didn’t catch that.”
Liao Yanyan laughed awkwardly. “Actually, it’s fine. Take the day off.”
“Thanks, Director.” Xiao Yun hurried upstairs with the food.
After breakfast, the ancestor was still asleep. An Omega in heat remains unstable even with suppressants. Only a marking from an Alpha’s pheromones provides total relief. This was the inherent inequality of the ABO world. An adult Omega needs an Alpha’s mark; relying solely on drugs to suppress pheromones is bad for the health, can shorten the lifespan, and cause illness.
Jiang Cha had never been marked.
Since she wasn’t waking up, Xiao Yun enjoyed the peace, sitting on the sofa and reading the ABO textbook. To survive here, she had to master the basics. Other transmigrators had systems to guide them; she had nothing but her life. She had to figure it out as she went.
She read until 6:00 PM. The porridge on the table had gone hot to cold and been replaced. Xiao Yun had read dozens of pages and even hand-washed their swimsuits before Jiang Cha showed signs of waking. It started with her small feet poking out from the quilt, her pink toes gripping the sheets.
The ancestor was back.
Xiao Yun sat up, put a couple of drops of eye medicine in her eyes to make them look red, messed up her hair, and sat on the sofa looking dejected. Right on cue, Jiang Cha opened her eyes.
“You’re awake?” Xiao Yun asked in a half-dead voice.
Jiang Cha rubbed her temples, recalled the previous night, and gasped. She immediately clutched the quilt and checked her body.
Xiao Yun smirked. “You haven’t lost your ‘virtue’.”
Jiang Cha hesitated. “My clothes…”
During her heat, pheromones would leak from more than just her neck. Yet, her body felt clean, as if she had been bathed, and the scent of pheromones had been scrubbed away.
Xiao Yun said listlessly, “I changed them for you.”
“You!” Jiang Cha’s face changed. She scrambled back and threw a pillow at her.
Xiao Yun caught it. “Do you really care that much?” She stared at her with reddened eyes. “An Omega butler changed you and cleaned you up. Not me.”
Jiang Cha looked at her teary eyes, not knowing whether to believe her. The “Alpha” pushed the breakfast toward her. “Eat first. After that, I’ll explain what happened yesterday.”
Jiang Cha knew what had happened. She had been in heat, her mind a mess, she had nearly hurt Xiao Yun, and Xiao Yun, pinning her down, had revealed the truth—that she was a Beta. Then she had fallen asleep and woke up changed.
“No… no need. I remember.” Jiang Cha got out of bed and went to the bathroom. She saw the swimsuits hanging there, washed and dried. Her heart raced. “The butler washed the clothes?”
“I washed the clothes. Do you have a problem with that, too?” Xiao Yun looked pained.
It wasn’t that Jiang Cha minded—after all, she was a Beta and couldn’t feel pheromones—but the idea of her scrubbing away the pheromones from her swimsuit was embarrassing. She returned to the table and sipped her porridge.
Xiao Yun maintained her dejected look. Jiang Cha felt a pang of guilt. “Is the director awake? I’ll go film the show after I eat.”
“Breakfast? Now?” Xiao Yun pointed at the clock. “It’s evening.”
Jiang Cha paused, then continued her porridge. Xiao Yun assumed she was still angry. She decided to make the first move. “Yesterday was my fault. I scared you.”
Last night, she had straddled her and spoken quite aggressively.
“No. Yesterday, I shouldn’t have doubted you. It was my fault.”
Xiao Yun didn’t want to argue. “As long as you know.”
Jiang Cha was stunned.
“But after last night, you know everything. It’s like I’m standing naked before you.”
The logic was sound. Jiang Cha stirred her porridge. “I didn’t expect you were… a Beta.” Saying it out loud felt like hurting her pride. After all, Xiao Yun had been pretending to be an S-class Alpha. No wonder she looked so dejected and hadn’t slept. Jiang Cha looked at her with pity.
Xiao Yun played along. “You asked why I chose you. Honestly, because I’m so ordinary, I wanted to be with the most exceptional Omega. You know my dad wants a grandchild. If I said I was a Beta, I’d be kicked out. As an ordinary Beta, I can’t mark anyone, I can’t have kids… in society, I’m just a nobody.”
As she spoke, her eyes welled up.
Jiang Cha listened and immediately said, “What’s wrong with being a Beta?” Betas are fine, she whispered.
Xiao Yun felt a pang in her heart. Sure, sure. In the original book, once you found out she was a Beta, you mocked her for the rest of her life.
“Thank you for the comfort. I told you yesterday because I had to.” Xiao Yun looked at her.
“Why?”
“Because I didn’t want you to have such a strong reaction. In our future collaboration, it’s better you know my true identity so you won’t be so guarded.”
Jiang Cha nodded. “Who else knows?”
“Besides you, no one.”
As she said the word “Beta,” the sunset light hit Jiang Cha’s face. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly into what looked like a mocking smile.
Cough. Xiao Yun pretended to be offended. “What are you laughing at?” She stood up as if angry.
Jiang Cha’s eyebrows jumped, and she grabbed her hand—or rather, pulled her into an embrace.
Surprisingly, Jiang Cha had strength after eating. She wrapped her arms around her, their chests pressing together. Xiao Yun’s eardrums throbbed. That Omega butler… why didn’t she put a bra on her?
Jiang Cha’s neck pressed against hers, sending a chill through her. After a long moment, she said seriously:
“I’m not mocking you, Yunyun. Now that you’ve told me this secret, we are best friends from now on.”
