After Pretending to Be an Alpha, I Was Exposed by My Rival - Chapter 9
“F-fell in love with someone else? Could it be that our previous efforts worked? Brother Lu finally realized that there’s no happiness between two As?” Houzi swallowed the skewer in his mouth whole.
“That should be it.” Wu Qi nodded.
“Don’t mind them. We accept sharing the table.” Lu Chizhou smiled at the waitress, generously spreading his charm. When the waitress met his gaze, her face immediately turned red. She shyly curled the little order booklet in her hand. “Thank you for your understanding, gentlemen. I’ll call them over now.”
Lu Chizhou nodded. Then he casually pulled out a few tissues and carefully wiped the other side of the table clean. He even wiped the stool along with it.
Zhou Yijue followed behind Yuan Big Head. Yuan Big Head kept asking the waitress for her WeChat, but she politely refused him.
The two of them only clearly saw who they would be sharing a table with after walking all the way to the table.
The waitress showed a professional smile. “I’m really sorry. Business is quite good today, and these are the last seats left. Fortunately, you all agreed, so I’ll have to trouble you to squeeze in a little.”
“Hi, what a coincidence.” Lu Chizhou waved at Zhou Yijue and patted the seat beside him, gesturing for him to sit over there.
Zhou Yijue coldly refused and prepared to turn around and leave. But just as the tip of his foot turned, Lu Chizhou said, “We’re all Alphas. Don’t tell me you’re afraid I’ll bully you?”
He smiled in a way that made people want to punch him.
Zhou Yijue heard the threat hidden in his tone.
Blame his own bad luck.
Of all the people who could have found out, it had to be that bastard Lu Chizhou who learned about his Omega identity. It was equivalent to personally delivering his own weakness to the other party as a generous gift, allowing him to manipulate him however he wanted.
Zhou Yijue bit down hard on his back teeth and sat down unwillingly.
“Little Zhouzhou?” Yuan Big Head had thought he would turn around and leave. He had already prepared himself not to eat skewers, but when he turned around, he saw Zhou Yijue sitting down.
Had the sun risen from the west today?
Could two archenemies sit together and properly eat skewers? Would they not end up stabbing each other’s eyes with skewers halfway through the meal?
Yuan Haojun imagined that bloody scene and was so frightened that goosebumps rose all over his body.
It… probably would not get that bloody, right?
He looked at Zhou Yijue uneasily, then at Lu Chizhou. The former had a sour face, while the latter was smiling cheerfully. No matter how he looked at it, they did not seem like people who could happily eat skewers together.
“Little Zhouzhou, why don’t we not eat here after all? I suddenly don’t want skewers that much anymore. Let’s eat hotpot instead. There’s a newly opened hotpot place near my house, and the taste is amazing.”
Zhou Yijue glanced sideways at the smiling Lu Chizhou beside him and coldly rejected Yuan Haojun’s suggestion. “Not going. We’re eating skewers. Give me the menu.”
The waitress sensed the tense relationship between them and was so frightened that her expression changed. Trembling, she handed over the menu. “H-here you go.”
After Zhou Yijue finished ordering, he closed the menu and handed it back to the waitress. “Four glasses of lemon water first.”
“Four glasses?” Afraid she had misheard, the waitress repeated it.
“Mm,” Zhou Yijue said.
“No, Little Zhouzhou, why are you ordering four glasses? I don’t like drinking sour things.” Yuan Haojun said.
“They’re not for you.” Zhou Yijue’s face was cold.
“Huh? Not for me? Then you’re…” Yuan Haojun counted the three people across from them. Excluding himself, it was exactly four. “Little Zhouzhou, don’t tell me you’re treating them to lemon water? Since when did your relationship with them become so good?”
Zhou Yijue neither admitted nor denied it.
But Lu Chizhou’s eyes brightened slightly, and a faint flame of hope burned in them.
Houzi and Wu Qi sat nearby with skewers in hand, their mouths wide open. Had their relationship improved?
Why did they not know?
Before long, the waitress brought four glasses of lemon water.
Lu Chizhou quietly pushed the glass in front of him toward Houzi, creating the illusion that he had no drink. His fingers lightly tapped the tabletop as he waited with anticipation for the glass of lemon water that belonged to him.
He really did care about him. He even knew that he liked sour drinks.
After the waitress set down the drinks, Zhou Yijue calmly arranged the four glasses one by one in the center of the table, forming a clear dividing line that separated the two sides.
“Everyone paid. Although we’re sharing a table, we don’t like mixing with strangers while eating, so each side gets half the table.”
“What? You came late and you’re still taking half our table? What kind of logic is that? There are two of you, but three of us. If we divide it by headcount, we should get two-thirds.” As soon as Houzi heard this, he slapped the table and stood up in displeasure.
Houzi still wanted to keep cursing, but Wu Qi beside him tugged at him. Under the table, Wu Qi silently signaled for him to look at Lu Chizhou’s expression.
Lu Chizhou’s expression had not changed much, but Wu Qi and Houzi were familiar with him. With one glance, they could tell that he was in a very bad mood right now, so the two of them did not dare act recklessly anymore.
No matter how dissatisfied they were, they could only swallow it back down.
Lu Chizhou brushed the tip of his tongue over his teeth, and his smile gradually grew unrestrained.
Strangers, was it?
On the way home, Zhou Yijue parted ways with Yuan Haojun at an intersection. He looked at the time and saw that it was a little late, so he decided to take a shortcut back.
He walked into a small alley.
Not long after he had started walking, a black shadow suddenly attacked from behind. In an instant, it covered his eyes. A body drew close, and breath fell against the gland at the back of his neck. A soft, warm touch brushed against his gland.
Zhou Yijue’s body went weak.
The Alpha pheromones his body had remembered enveloped his entire body, making him unable to stop himself from leaning back, craving the invasion of those pheromones.
Domineering and forceful.
“Is this how you react when a stranger holds you?” Lu Chizhou’s deep voice sounded beside his ear.
Zhou Yijue came back to his senses and wanted to resist, but because of his body’s instincts, he had no choice but to shamelessly press closer. He hated this reaction. He hated the Omega nature he could not defy.
He could not resist the scent of Lu Chizhou’s pheromones.
