After Transmigrating As The Film Empress Sister’s Kept Alpha - Chapter 3
After posting on WeChat Moments, Shen Yishu finally began to feel tired.
Once she finished showering, she set her phone to silent, lay down on the bed, and let out a heavy sigh.
According to the plot, she would have to go to the filming set tomorrow. There would only be more problems waiting for her, not fewer.
When Lin Luosheng returned, Shen Yishu did not even know how she was supposed to explain things to her.
After all, even she did not know how the drugs had been administered.
Burdened by countless worries, Shen Yishu—who was anxious but still remarkably carefree—soon fell into a deep sleep.
In the suite on the top floor, the phone resting on the coffee table showed that a call was in progress.
Ji Xiangyu threw the used suppressant into the trash and asked softly, “How is Lin Luosheng?”
The person on the other end had an equally cold and distant voice. Lowering her voice, she replied, “She’s already awake. I’ll bring her back later.”
“Isn’t she staying at the hospital overnight for observation?”
The other person was silent for two seconds before answering, “Mm.”
“She said she doesn’t want to delay tomorrow’s filming.”
Remembering Lin Luosheng’s flushed face and the way she had staggered to Ji Xiangyu’s door, Ji Xiangyu frowned.
“Did you mark her?”
Zheng Shu was hiding in the hospital stairwell. She raised her head and stared at the thin streaks of light spilling through the gap beneath the door, her expression indifferent.
“Does she know?” Ji Xiangyu asked as she rubbed the back of her neck, which still felt slightly uncomfortable.
The image of Shen Yishu obediently saying that she would take responsibility surfaced in her mind.
“She knows.”
Zheng Shu lowered her gaze toward the row of teeth marks on her wrist.
Lin Luosheng had bitten her there after waking and discovering that Zheng Shu had given her a temporary mark.
“Don’t make a move against Shen Yishu yet over the drugging incident,” Ji Xiangyu said. “There’s something I want to investigate.”
Zheng Shu fell silent.
Ji Xiangyu yawned and rubbed her eyes as she walked toward the bedroom.
The faint scent of their intertwined pheromones still lingered inside.
She paused for two seconds before continuing, “Once I’ve investigated everything clearly, I’ll give both you and Lin Luosheng an explanation.”
Although the preliminary investigation showed that Shen Yishu was indeed a terrible person, Ji Xiangyu could not shake the feeling that the Shen Yishu she had encountered tonight did not match the information they had uncovered.
Whenever Lin Luosheng was involved, Zheng Shu acted ruthlessly and left no path of escape.
If Ji Xiangyu did not warn her in advance, it would take Zheng Shu no more than three days to make Shen Yishu disappear from the entertainment industry entirely.
To confirm her suspicions, Ji Xiangyu decided to protect Shen Yishu for a few days.
Lin Luosheng had already finished preparing to leave.
She walked out of the hospital room and looked around, seemingly searching for someone.
Now that the worst of the discomfort had passed, Lin Luosheng had mostly recovered. Her shoulder-length hair hung loose, her face was slightly pale, and Zheng Shu’s suit jacket was still draped over her body.
She was only 168 centimeters tall and had lost another kilogram while filming, making her shoulders appear even thinner.
The moment her innocent, deer-like eyes spotted Zheng Shu, they filled with anger.
She stormed toward the exit.
Zheng Shu finally answered Ji Xiangyu, “I understand.”
She put away her phone and followed Lin Luosheng outside.
After ending the call, Ji Xiangyu tossed her phone onto the bed and climbed beneath the soft covers.
Then she suddenly remembered what Shen Yishu had said on this very bed.
“Sister, bear with it. It might hurt a little.”
Ji Xiangyu: “…”
She closed her eyes and attempted to erase that memory from her mind.
Half a minute later, she rolled over and remembered Shen Yishu bending over her, nuzzling around near her shoulder while using her canine teeth to search for the right place to bite.
Expressionlessly, Ji Xiangyu climbed out of bed and headed toward the suite’s second bedroom.
If she continued lying on that bed, she would not be getting any sleep tonight.
Ji Xiangyu slept poorly the entire night.
When her assistant arrived the next morning and saw the dark circles beneath her eyes, she was startled.
Ji Xiangyu’s skin was naturally pale, making them look even more alarming.
“Sister Xiangyu, did you not sleep well last night?”
The suggestive scents in the room had long since dissipated.
The unused suppressants had been put away, while the empty ones had been thrown into the trash.
Since Ji Xiangyu said nothing, her young assistant had no way of knowing what had happened the night before.
Ji Xiangyu shook her head.
“I had a nightmare.”
Today was Ji Xiangyu’s first day of filming.
The Golden Hairpin had begun production ahead of schedule.
A week earlier, Ji Xiangyu had still been recording a variety show. By the time she arrived, the crew had already been filming for a week despite her being the female lead.
She had not even had a chance to rest before her heat arrived like a debt collector demanding repayment.
Ji Xiangyu looked at herself in the mirror.
The entertainment industry never lacked pearls. If a jewelry box were overturned, countless dazzling pieces of jade would spill out.
Ji Xiangyu, however, was different.
She was the bright moon in the sky.
When she was absent, the ground was filled with glittering pearls. When she appeared, she became the most dazzling jewel of them all.
However, she had never relied solely on her appearance to stand at the very top of the entertainment industry.
“Sister Xiangyu, why don’t you rest for a day?” her assistant suggested worriedly while studying her complexion. “One more day won’t make much difference.”
“There’s no need.”
Ji Xiangyu stood from the dressing table.
“Get everything ready. Let’s go to the set.”
Ji Xiangyu had not slept well, but Shen Yishu had slept extremely soundly.
Had her alarm not gone off while she was dreaming about a crowd of beautiful older and younger women chasing her and demanding to know why she had not replied to their messages, her sleep would have been perfect.
Yawning, she got out of bed and washed up casually.
She rummaged through the messy pile of clothes in her suitcase and found the plainest white T-shirt and pair of jeans she could find.
The original owner’s taste was truly difficult to compliment. Even the most ordinary pair of jeans was covered with countless luxury-brand logos.
The script had been carelessly tossed onto the cabinet and looked so new that it might have come straight from the printer.
Before transmigrating, Shen Yishu had merely been an ordinary university student from an average family who attended a top school.
Forget acting—she had never even seen a real filming crew before.
Aside from the script, she had no idea what else she was supposed to bring.
She put on a baseball cap, tucked the script under her arm, and left the room.
She had barely taken two steps outside when she happened to encounter the assistant assigned to her by the company stepping out of the elevator.
The young assistant was under 160 centimeters tall and wore her hair in a ponytail.
She carried a large, bulging shoulder bag and held her phone tightly, her brows furrowed. She nearly walked straight into Shen Yishu.
“Sister Shen, why didn’t you answer my calls?”
The moment she realized it was Shen Yishu, her frown immediately disappeared.
“My phone was on silent.”
When Shen Yishu woke, she had discovered a pile of missed calls, but she had simply left her phone on silent.
“The car I booked has arrived. Let’s go.”
The assistant did not dare genuinely blame Shen Yishu.
She was afraid that one extra complaint might cost her the job.
As the two of them stepped out of the elevator, they happened to see Ji Xiangyu leaving through the hotel entrance.
She wore a black bucket hat, her hair casually tied into a low ponytail.
A mask and sunglasses concealed her entire face.
She was dressed in a thin green knitted cardigan and light-blue jeans, keeping her head lowered as bodyguards escorted her outside.
The people who waited near hotels used by filming crews were generally either paparazzi, proxy photographers, or obsessive fans who followed celebrities’ schedules.
Regardless of which kind they were, Ji Xiangyu had no intention of treating them pleasantly.
Some people even tried to shove their phone cameras directly into her face. Had the bodyguards not blocked them, several might have pushed right up against her.
Ji Xiangyu entered the car without acknowledging anyone calling her name.
Shen Yishu’s assistant was named Zhu Li.
When she saw Shen Yishu staring in Ji Xiangyu’s direction, her heart skipped a beat.
The company had specially assigned her to Shen Yishu.
Although she was called an assistant, she was actually expected to do everything.
If Shen Yishu suddenly wanted barbecue in the middle of the night, Zhu Li had to take a taxi into the city, find a restaurant, and bring some back for her.
Shen Yishu had ambitions higher than the sky.
Her family had money to support her, and the moment she entered the entertainment industry, she declared that she wanted to become the next Ji Xiangyu.
All Zhu Li could do was close her eyes, nod, and say that Shen Yishu could accomplish it.
In reality, Ji Xiangyu had already won a prestigious Best Actress award when she was eighteen.
By the time she reached Shen Yishu’s current age, she had already become one of the industry’s most popular leading actresses, possessing trophies for both film and television.
Among the entertainment industry’s current top actresses, Ji Xiangyu’s fame and status were unrivaled.
Zhu Li feared that Shen Yishu might suddenly say something inappropriate in the hotel lobby, so she hurriedly lowered her voice.
“Sister Shen, you’ll become just as successful as Ji Xiangyu someday.”
Shen Yishu’s train of thought was abruptly interrupted.
She looked confused.
“Huh?”
She had actually been thinking that it was fortunate she was an obscure nobody.
She could wash up casually and leave without worrying.
Otherwise, if she were photographed on a day when her skin looked bad and the pictures were uploaded online, people would mock her relentlessly, as though they wanted to throw her into the mud and stomp on her a few more times.
They arrived at the set early.
Shen Yishu found an empty place and quickly memorized the scene she would be performing that day.
Fortunately, she only had one scene containing three or four lines.
She finished memorizing it in less than five minutes.
Afterward, she went to the restroom.
However, in the corridor outside, she spotted a familiar person wearing a costume and standing with her arms crossed, staring blankly into space.
Ji Xiangyu had not slept well the night before.
Filming had not yet begun, and waiting had made her drowsy, so she had come outside to wake herself up.
Her makeup was already finished.
Perhaps because it had been designed to suit her character in the drama, it deliberately softened the sharpness of her features.
She no longer appeared quite as intimidating.
Combined with the faint sleepiness in her eyes, she unexpectedly looked somewhat gentle.
Even now, Shen Yishu still had not realized whom she had marked the previous night.
She carefully remembered the beautiful Sister’s warning:
Forget what happened last night.
After having her makeup done, the beautiful Sister looked even more stunning. The natural allure between her brows and eyes was impossible to conceal.
Even Shen Yishu had to admit that she was extremely susceptible to such beauty.
To avoid saying too much, making another mistake, and angering Ji Xiangyu, Shen Yishu simply treated her like an ordinary colleague.
She nodded in greeting and entered the restroom.
When she came back out, Ji Xiangyu was still there.
Suppressing the impulse in her heart, Shen Yishu began walking toward the lounge.
“Shen Yishu.”
Ji Xiangyu called out to her.
“Mm?”
Shen Yishu turned around.
Unable to hold it back, she smiled, the corners of her lips lifting.
Ji Xiangyu: “…”
What was she smiling about?
“Do you know who I am now?” Ji Xiangyu asked with a frown.
As she had the night before, she habitually stood with her arms crossed.
Her hair had not yet been fully styled. It was only loosely gathered with a wooden hairpin and pinned atop her head.
“I don’t.”
Shen Yishu answered frankly and without hesitation.
Ji Xiangyu remained silent for two seconds before abandoning the subject.
“Did you sleep well last night?”
Shen Yishu did not answer immediately.
She did not know what to say.
The question sounded far too suggestive.
She and this beautiful Sister had only shared the fate of meeting and exchanging a single mark last night.
The beautiful Sister had no intention of continuing their relationship and had even warned Shen Yishu to forget everything that happened.
Right.
Forget it.
Shen Yishu decided that Ji Xiangyu’s question must be a trap designed to test whether she had obediently forgotten the previous night.
“I slept very well. I fell asleep at ten.”
Shen Yishu believed this was a perfect answer.
It responded to Ji Xiangyu’s question while also demonstrating that she had genuinely forgotten what happened last night.
Ji Xiangyu understood.
As expected, a scumbag Alpha was still a scumbag Alpha.
Someone who spent every day touching the hands of different little Omegas could hardly lose sleep over a single mark.
She gave Shen Yishu an indifferent glance before turning and walking away.
Shen Yishu believed she had passed the test and released a breath of relief.
