After Transmigrating As The Film Empress Sister’s Kept Alpha - Chapter 6
Zhu Li was still looking up at Shen Yishu and talking nonstop when she suddenly sensed something was wrong. Following Shen Yishu’s gaze, she looked over.
“?”
Zhu Li did not recognize the person and assumed one of Shen Yishu’s romantic entanglements had chased her all the way to the hotel.
“Miss Jiang.” Shen Yishu frowned slightly. “What do you want?”
Jiang Wu removed her sunglasses, her almond-shaped eyes widening as she went straight to the point.
“What is your relationship with Ji Xiangyu?”
Shen Yishu frowned.
“?”
Putting aside the fact that she and Ji Xiangyu had no relationship, Jiang Wu’s interrogative tone made her extremely uncomfortable.
“What does it have to do with you?”
Jiang Wu scoffed, clearly taking Shen Yishu’s answer as an attempt to defend Ji Xiangyu. Her tone became even more sarcastic.
“No matter how much you try to please her, she’ll never like you. She’s a cold-blooded, heartless person—”
The more Shen Yishu listened, the stranger it sounded.
Why was Jiang Wu talking as though Ji Xiangyu had betrayed her through three lifetimes and three reincarnations, yet continued acting like a scumbag even after being caught?
Shen Yishu had merely helped Ji Xiangyu out of the basic sense of responsibility any normal person should possess. Otherwise, Ji Xiangyu would have fallen at the time.
How had that somehow turned into romantic interest in Jiang Wu’s mouth?
“Stop.” Shen Yishu interrupted her. “Who told you I liked her?”
“You practically glued your eyes to her at the set, and you’re still claiming you don’t like her?” Jiang Wu sneered. “Do you think I’m an idiot?”
Shen Yishu: “…”
Thinking back, she had indeed stared at Ji Xiangyu for quite a long time on set.
However, that was purely because Ji Xiangyu’s acting was outstanding. Since Shen Yishu believed in dedicating herself to whatever profession she entered, she had simply been studying her technique.
“Your acting is poor. How can you blame me for watching her instead?” Shen Yishu replied with complete confidence.
Zhu Li was stunned speechless.
She felt as though she had accidentally been swept into one corner of the entertainment industry’s turbulent undercurrents.
Both women’s words were full of hidden blades, each seemingly determined to drag the other into the dirt.
“I kindly came to warn you what kind of person Ji Xiangyu is. If you refuse to appreciate my goodwill, fine, but you don’t have to be this rude,” Jiang Wu said while suppressing her anger.
“I don’t need your warning. I have eyes.”
No woman capable of reaching the top of the entertainment industry was easy to deal with.
Jiang Wu was not easy to provoke, and Ji Xiangyu naturally was not either.
However, Ji Xiangyu would never wait outside someone’s hotel room late at night to badmouth another person while pretending it was “for their own good.”
“You’re an Alpha, aren’t you?” Jiang Wu suddenly asked after pausing for two seconds.
Shen Yishu could not be bothered to answer her.
She turned toward Zhu Li and quietly told her to go back and rest early.
Jiang Wu continued speaking to herself.
“She doesn’t like Alphas. She likes delicate, spoiled Omegas.”
Zhu Li was worried and reluctant to leave, afraid Shen Yishu might end up fighting Jiang Wu.
Amused, Shen Yishu patted her shoulder and told her to return to her room and sleep without worrying so much.
Hearing Jiang Wu’s words, she nodded perfunctorily.
“Mm. I also like delicate, spoiled Omegas.”
“She’s an overbearing Alpha. She would never like an Alpha like you.” Jiang Wu never missed an opportunity to belittle her rival.
“Mm?”
Shen Yishu suddenly realized something.
Jiang Wu had said Ji Xiangyu was an overbearing… Alpha?
But the person whose pheromones had reacted with hers and intertwined with them last night had unquestionably been a genuine Omega.
Physiological reactions could not lie.
Ji Xiangyu was definitely an Omega.
Shen Yishu lowered her eyes.
Since Ji Xiangyu publicly claimed to be an Alpha, she must have her reasons.
“Mm. I’m also an overbearing Alpha, so I wouldn’t like an Alpha like her. Can you leave now, Miss Jiang?”
With an irritated expression, Shen Yishu took the key card from her pocket and prepared to open her door.
With a click, the door across the hall opened.
Ji Xiangyu stood there wearing an oversized sweatshirt and wide-legged sweatpants.
Her long hair had been casually clipped on top of her head with a claw clip, its ends still slightly damp and dripping. A black hair tie was looped around her wrist.
Her expression was indifferent, as though she had not heard anything they had just said.
The three of them stared at one another.
Shen Yishu: “…”
Although she had not said anything bad, she inexplicably felt guilty.
The corridor was so silent that even the sound of a mosquito hitting the light could be heard.
A moment later, a fair-skinned, beautiful Omega with reddened eyes squeezed out from behind Ji Xiangyu.
Perhaps because she had been crying, her voice carried a nasal quality as she asked sweetly and softly, “What’s wrong?”
The three-way stare became a four-way stare.
Jiang Wu was the first to break the silence.
Apparently incapable of speaking pleasantly, she asked mockingly, “So this is the delicate beauty you’re hiding in your golden house?”
Ji Xiangyu could not be bothered wasting words on her. She did not even reply.
Instead, she spoke softly to Lin Luosheng.
“Go to sleep. You still have filming tomorrow.”
Shen Yishu stared at the newly appeared Lin Luosheng, her brows knitting tighter and tighter.
A few seconds later, realization suddenly dawned on her.
Ah!
Wasn’t this Lin Luosheng, the original female lead—the family’s most pampered and delicate young lady who entered the entertainment industry and transformed into an award-winning actress praised by countless people?
Her brows immediately relaxed.
Now she would never mistake someone else for Lin Luosheng again.
Lin Luosheng also noticed Shen Yishu.
She wrinkled her nose and appeared as though she wanted to say something. However, after glancing at Ji Xiangyu, she ultimately remained silent and retreated into the room.
Shen Yishu had been entirely focused on Lin Luosheng.
She was working hard to memorize her physical features.
She had not forgotten the first thought that entered her mind after realizing she had transmigrated:
Do not provoke the female lead.
If the female lead needed anything, Shen Yishu would pave the way for her. If she did not, Shen Yishu would quickly disappear from the world of the female lead and her destined Alpha.
Unbeknownst to her, every change in her expression and every movement she made fell into Ji Xiangyu’s eyes.
Jiang Wu was too busy watching Ji Xiangyu to notice Shen Yishu at all.
“See? I told you she likes delicate Omegas.”
Then she turned toward Ji Xiangyu.
“Are you really so reluctant to upgrade someone else to a suite?”
Shen Yishu’s thoughts were abruptly interrupted.
She looked up blankly and replied, “Who wouldn’t like a delicate Omega?”
Ji Xiangyu ignored Jiang Wu’s remark and instead said to her, “If you have nothing else to do, go back and memorize your script. Don’t delay everyone’s progress again like you did today.”
Jiang Wu immediately fell silent.
She glared furiously, resembling a cat whose tail had been stepped on, all the fur on her body nearly standing on end.
Ji Xiangyu had no intention of saying another word to her.
She simply stood with her arms hanging loosely by her sides and watched her in silence until Jiang Wu gave a cold snort, turned around, and left.
Only after the elevator doors had fully closed did Ji Xiangyu slowly speak.
“Let’s talk inside your room.”
Shen Yishu swiped her card and opened the door.
Only then did she suddenly remember the mess scattered all over the room.
She had gone straight to sleep the night before, and she had left too hurriedly that morning to clean anything.
Beep—
The door opened.
Shen Yishu: “…”
In her previous life, she had been considered a model Alpha in the eyes of many young Omegas.
She was neither fickle nor promiscuous. She treated people with appropriate distance and courtesy and always kept herself neat, clean, and refined.
Whenever she appeared in the library, at least three or five young Omegas would slip her notes asking for her contact information, while another two would post confessions about her on the school’s anonymous confession wall.
The dignity she had worked so hard to maintain was about to dissolve into foam today.
However, events did not unfold as she expected.
She had barely stepped into the room and had not even turned on the lights when the fresh scent of shower gel mixed with rosemary rushed toward her, entwining before seeping into every limb and bone.
A soft, fragrant body fell directly into her arms and immediately began sliding downward.
Shen Yishu instinctively caught Ji Xiangyu around the waist to prevent her from collapsing to the floor, pulling her completely into her embrace.
Ji Xiangyu’s freshly washed black hair carried a faint fragrance as it buried itself against Shen Yishu’s shoulder.
Her shallow breaths brushed beneath Shen Yishu’s collarbone. They were rapid and uneven, making it obvious that she was uncomfortable.
Shen Yishu’s entire body stiffened.
She had no idea where she was supposed to place the hands currently supporting Ji Xiangyu’s waist.
The lights in the room remained off.
Through the open curtains, they could only see a few scattered lights in the distance, where another production crew appeared to be filming a night scene.
At the end of summer and beginning of autumn, the night breeze was slightly less cool than it had been that morning and carried a touch more tenderness as it drifted through the half-open window.
Shen Yishu could not tell whether it was the Omega’s breath or the evening wind watching the show that brushed across her skin.
When one could not see clearly, even ordinary physical contact became unusually intimate.
Half of Ji Xiangyu’s weight rested against Shen Yishu, pressing her directly against the wall.
Her back touched the cold surface, while the body in her arms was warm and soft.
It could be considered another form of experiencing ice and fire at the same time.
Ji Xiangyu maintained her figure exceptionally well.
Even from the accidental embrace around her waist, Shen Yishu could feel the tension in her back and the firm curve of her waist.
She did not know whether to remove her hand or continue supporting her.
If she moved it, she was afraid Ji Xiangyu lacked the strength to remain upright and would slide down.
If she continued holding her, it might appear as though she were taking advantage of someone vulnerable and was not a decent person.
While Shen Yishu hesitated, Ji Xiangyu reached out and grasped the front of her shirt.
It was as though she were gripping an oar and trying to row toward the distant shore.
Shen Yishu wondered whether she should push her away instead of behaving like a scumbag Alpha who willingly accepted any beautiful Omega who threw herself into her arms.
She shifted, intending to help Ji Xiangyu stand properly and ask what was happening.
“Don’t move.”
Sensing Shen Yishu’s intention, Ji Xiangyu spoke first.
She was enduring unbearable discomfort.
This was the first mark she had received in ten years.
Her pheromones, suppressed for an entire decade, had finally found an outlet.
Before filming that day, she had sensed something might happen and injected herself with a suppressant in advance.
She had barely managed to endure the daytime.
However, the moment she saw Shen Yishu that evening, the violently surging pheromones inside her became almost impossible to suppress.
The resentment she felt toward Jiang Wu for making her endure three additional soakings in the rain was not even as great as the resentment she felt toward her for delaying her by three minutes tonight and forcing her to endure three more minutes of torment.
Shen Yishu was rather thin.
The original owner disliked exercising, so her shoulders and back were bony enough to make Ji Xiangyu’s face uncomfortable.
Even so, Ji Xiangyu was unwilling to let go.
Her fingers tightened around the white T-shirt as she forcefully suppressed unnecessary and inappropriate thoughts.
She did not want to surrender herself to desire.
Some things were like cigarettes.
Once tasted, they became impossible to put down again.
The more one indulged, the easier it became to fall into a sea of desire.
Three minutes later—
Shen Yishu rubbed her nose, pushed the suitcase toward one side of the bed, and poured Ji Xiangyu a glass of water.
Ji Xiangyu took a cigarette from her bag and asked hoarsely, “Do you mind?”
Shen Yishu shook her head and held out the water.
Ji Xiangyu did not accept it.
Instead, she lit the slender cigarette between her fingers.
The slowly rising smoke blurred her features.
A faint redness still lingered at the corners of her eyes, while traces of desire colored her brows.
The cigarette resembled a branch of spring scenery reaching out from behind a wall.
Shen Yishu stared at her profile and, at a thoroughly inappropriate moment, thought of a phrase.
A post-coital cigarette.
