Chapter 53

Fu Qingyun stepped forward to open the door wider for Su Ziqin. “Are you done?”

Su Ziqin stood on her tiptoes and looked behind Fu Qingyun. She had just heard someone talking, but why didn’t she see anyone?

“Don’t look for anyone,” Fu Qingyun said, taking Su Ziqin’s hand and leading her in front of 12138. “It was talking just now.”

Su Ziqin sized up the strange red sphere. Her amber eyes were full of suspicion. “This thing can talk?”

“Hello,” the red sphere trembled.

Su Ziqin was startled by the sudden voice. She turned her head and looked at the projection of 12138 in disbelief. Su Ziqin reached out her hand and poked the projection. Her finger went straight through the red sphere.

“What is this?”

Fu Qingyun went forward and swiped her hand in the air. 12138 immediately received Fu Qingyun’s command. “I’m the lab assistant 12138.”

Su Ziqin was stunned for a moment when she heard the name. She felt like she had heard this strange string of numbers somewhere before.

Fu Qingyun stroked the top of Su Ziqin’s head. “This is the artificial intelligence program I made for the lab.”

Su Ziqin blinked at Fu Qingyun. Su Ziqin had known about Fu Qingyun’s incredible programming skills for a while, so making an artificial intelligence seemed like nothing out of the ordinary.

Su Ziqin pulled Fu Qingyun to a chair. She took out two invitations from her bag and handed them to Fu Qingyun. Her amber eyes were full of anticipation as she looked at Fu Qingyun.

Fu Qingyun took the invitations and looked at them. “This Saturday. You want me to go with you?”

Su Ziqin nodded. The curve of her mouth turned up even more. She thought to herself that the fairy could be enlightened sometimes.

“You have nothing to do on Saturday anyway. Just come with me.”

Fu Qingyun looked at the invitations again. The timing was indeed not a problem. The appointment with the professor was still more than half a month away, so Fu Qingyun was relatively free during this period.

“I can go.”

“You’re the best, Honey,” Su Ziqin said, kissing Fu Qingyun on the lips.

Seeing that Fu Qingyun was so obedient and let her kiss her, Su Ziqin suddenly remembered what happened last night. The smile on her face instantly fell.

“What was wrong with you last night?”

Fu Qingyun was stunned for a moment. She blinked at Su Ziqin. Her expression was completely innocent. “Wasn’t it right? The video was like that.”

Su Ziqin huffed and turned her head away stubbornly, not looking at Fu Qingyun. “You ran away after only watching half of it. Are you really clueless or are you pretending to be clueless?”

Su Ziqin couldn’t hold it in. She punched Fu Qingyun on the shoulder with her small fist. The resentment in her eyes almost flowed out of her eye sockets.

Fu Qingyun straightened up and pulled Su Ziqin into her arms. Her dark eyes were as clear as a mirror. Suddenly, she leaned in and gently kissed Su Ziqin’s lips.

It was just a fleeting kiss, but Su Ziqin felt like her heart was a flapping butterfly about to suffocate. It kept flapping its wings, and every flap would make pink dust fall off. This was the very first time Fu Qingyun had taken the initiative to kiss her.

Fu Qingyun touched her lips lightly and was about to pull away. Su Ziqin didn’t want to let go of this rare opportunity for Fu Qingyun to take the initiative. She wrapped her arms around Fu Qingyun’s neck and deepened the hard-won kiss. Su Ziqin knew very well that it was too difficult to get this person to take the initiative.

The light kiss turned into a passionate kiss. The rose desperately yearned for the Long Island Iced Tea. She brazenly invaded the Long Island Iced Tea’s world. Just as Su Ziqin had said before, Fu Qingyun’s pheromones were more honest than her mouth.

Su Ziqin tasted the Long Island Iced Tea’s pheromones in Fu Qingyun’s mouth. The naturally compatible pheromones unconsciously moved closer to each other.

The fiery rose, with its passionate enthusiasm, wanted a response from the owner of the Long Island Iced Tea. Su Ziqin only stopped when she heard her own slight gasps.

Su Ziqin didn’t let go of her arms around Fu Qingyun’s neck. She leaned her face against Fu Qingyun’s chest and listened to her heartbeat. The noticeably faster heart rate made a satisfied smile reappear on Su Ziqin’s lips. “Honey, your heart is beating so fast.”

“I’m sorry, little fox.” Unlike before, Fu Qingyun’s voice was very gentle and also carried a faint, almost imperceptible rasp.

Su Ziqin was stunned for a moment. She looked up in confusion, meeting a pair of apologetic, dark eyes. “Why are you apologizing?”

“I don’t have this kind of experience,” Fu Qingyun said, touching the side of Su Ziqin’s face. Her pale fingers gently caressed Su Ziqin’s cheek. “I always felt that these things were unnecessary.”

Su Ziqin breathed a sigh of relief. When she heard Fu Qingyun say that she didn’t have this kind of experience, Su Ziqin was relieved. But the name Fu Qingyun had mumbled that night was like a thorn stuck in Su Ziqin’s heart.

“Who is Tang Lin?” Su Ziqin couldn’t help but ask. She pressed her face tightly against Fu Qingyun’s chest, not daring to look up. She didn’t want to see Fu Qingyun’s face with an expression that showed she couldn’t forget that person.

Fu Qingyun sighed and stroked Su Ziqin’s soft hair. “An unimportant person.” Fu Qingyun thought that everything from that world should just stay in that world, whether it was good or bad.

Su Ziqin hummed in a muffled voice. She knew that Fu Qingyun was unwilling to share that past with her. But it didn’t matter. Fu Qingyun was by her side now. All Su Ziqin had to do was hold onto her tightly.

“Speaking of which…” Su Ziqin propped up her head and looked at Fu Qingyun meaningfully. “Honey, if you don’t have these experiences, how can you joke about ‘pillow princesses’ with Sister Yin? And what you said before about spending money for others to enjoy themselves, you’re not really clueless about these things, are you?”

Fu Qingyun nodded and answered honestly. “I naturally know about these things, but how to do them… or rather, how to do them correctly, I’m not sure.”

“That’s why I made you watch an educational video,” Su Ziqin said, gently tapping Fu Qingyun’s lower lip with her finger. She had kissed off a bit of lipstick from there.

Fu Qingyun lowered her head and slightly furrowed her brows. A hint of confusion appeared in her dark eyes. “I find it a bit strange.”

“Strange?” Su Ziqin’s tone was a little higher. She could understand someone feeling awkward or getting carried away, but this was the first time she had heard someone say it was strange. She blinked at Fu Qingyun. “What’s strange?”

Fu Qingyun shook her head. She couldn’t describe the feeling. It was something that didn’t exist in the knowledge reserves of her brain from the two worlds.

Su Ziqin gave up. She got off Fu Qingyun and stood up. “Fairies are indeed above mortal things. I won’t make things difficult for you, honey. But can we kiss like that every day?”

Fu Qingyun looked at Su Ziqin’s expectant expression. She unconsciously touched her chest. Her heart had indeed been beating a little fast. For Fu Qingyun, this was an uncontrolled heart rate imbalance. For the first time, Fu Qingyun didn’t feel annoyed by this loss of control.

Fu Qingyun nodded. Su Ziqin was fascinated by the beauty’s obedient look. She couldn’t help but step forward and cup Fu Qingyun’s face. Her soft voice carried a hint of straightforward dominance. “I want to right now.”

Without giving Fu Qingyun a chance to speak, Su Ziqin kissed Fu Qingyun’s lips again. As if not satisfied with just kissing off that bit of lipstick, Su Ziqin’s kisses were urgent and passionate. The rose was like a mature hunter teasing the Long Island Iced Tea, sometimes enveloping and sucking, and sometimes exploring deep into the Long Island Iced Tea’s territory.

Excluding the memories before the age of eight that she had not fully recalled, Fu Qingyun had never had such a complex feeling in these seventeen years as she did tonight. When she returned home, her heart was still beating uncontrollably. Especially when she saw Su Ziqin, her heart would beat even faster.

Fu Qingyun leaned against the headboard, holding a reference book in her hand, but her eyes had long since drifted away.

Ding-dong. The text message sound on her phone pulled Fu Qingyun’s thoughts back.

Fu Qingyun picked up her phone from the headboard and opened it. It was a message from Professor Smith. “Yun, the CPTH authorization you mentioned last time. I found a friend in China to handle it. He said he has already sent it to your home. It should have arrived by now. Pay attention to the mail.”

Fu Qingyun replied with a thank you to the professor. This item was very important to her. CPTH was not legal to synthesize in China. She could only get authorization through Smith.

Fu Qingyun slowly got up, put on her slippers, and was about to leave the bedroom. The bathroom door opened, and Su Ziqin walked out in a half-sleeved shirt and shorts, wiping her wet hair as she walked. “Where are you going so late?”

Fu Qingyun shook the phone in her hand. “Professor Smith said the authorization for the lab was sent to our home. I’m going to check the mailbox.”

“No,” Su Ziqin said coldly.

Fu Qingyun blinked in confusion. She tilted her head and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Su Ziqin looked at Fu Qingyun’s outfit. She was wearing a black silk slip dress. The neckline wasn’t very low, but since she was about to go to bed, Fu Qingyun wasn’t wearing a bra. If she lowered her head a little, one could get a full view of the beautiful scenery.

The hem of the dress was high, and her legs were straight and long with not an ounce of fat. Her toned muscles extended up to the hem of the dress.

“Is that something you can go out in?” Su Ziqin said angrily, throwing the towel in her hand at Fu Qingyun. “I’ll go.”

Without another word to Fu Qingyun, Su Ziqin left. Even at night in the summer, it was hot. Su Ziqin had not walked two steps out of the villa when she started to sweat. She thought she might have to go back and take a shower later.

She walked to the mailbox in front of the villa and opened it. It was full, and a bunch of envelopes fell out, clattering to the ground like fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Su Ziqin rolled her eyes and cursed her luck. In this weather, even one extra movement could make a person sweat. Su Ziqin brushed her hair to the side and crouched down to sort the mail. Most of the letters were just advertisements. Su Ziqin quickly found a letter with English on it.

“This is it,” Su Ziqin said. As soon as she got her hands on it, her eyes were drawn to the green envelope underneath. There was no other reason than the sender’s name being too eye-catching. “Jing City Traffic Police Detachment, Second Brigade?”

Su Ziqin looked at the letter over and over again. It was indeed a letter from the traffic police. She shouldn’t have any violations, right? Su Ziqin tore open the envelope and unfolded the paper inside. It was indeed a ticket, but it wasn’t for Su Ziqin. It was for Fu Qingyun.

“Dear Ms. Fu Qingyun, your vehicle, Jing A.8XXX, on July 29th, on the second ring road overpass… reached a speed of… 200 km/h?” Her fingers tightened on the letter. Su Ziqin looked at the speed that was impossible to reach in the city. “Was she driving too fast? Or was she flying too low? Wait…”

Su Ziqin’s finger ran over the date. Her thoughts were brought back to that slightly dark afternoon. July 29th was the day Su Ziqin was almost bullied by Song Chen. Su Ziqin exhaled a murky breath and looked up at the stars in the night sky.

One of them was exceptionally bright. Su Ziqin looked at the star in a daze. A faint smile appeared on her lips.

“That was also the first time you marked me.” It was also the day Su Ziqin confirmed that she liked Fu Qingyun…
