Chapter 65
It had been seven days since she was admitted to the hospital. Fu Qingyun hadn’t appeared since that day. Su Ziqin stared blankly at her phone, at the conversation with Fu Qingyun. It had been seven days. No messages, no calls. Fu Qingyun was as if she had disappeared from her world.
Other than a phone call from Gu Qingli, a visit from Fu Chenlan, a comforting phone call from Yangyang, and Xu Zhiqian telling her to rest well, Su Ziqin’s world became unusually quiet.
“What are you doing?” Su Ziqin said absentmindedly. She regretted it. She shouldn’t have talked to Fu Qingyun like that. She had clearly agreed with Fu Qingyun that she would tell her, and all she had to do was wait.
“Knock, knock, knock.” A knock came at the door.
Su Ziqin looked at the time. It was six in the evening. Who would come at this hour? Her heart skipped a beat. Could it be her?
“Come in.” Su Ziqin didn’t realize how eager her voice was. But the person who pushed the door open disappointed her.
“Your Highness Louis,” Su Ziqin’s tone became dull. The disappointment in her voice reached Louis’s ears, and Louise raised an eyebrow.
“I didn’t expect her not to be here.”
Su Ziqin unconsciously clenched her fists, and her knuckles cracked twice. “Why are you here, Your Highness?”
Louise’s eyes were full of amusement. Anyone could see that Su Ziqin was not in a good state. “Did you and Fu Qingyun have a fight? I don’t think someone like her would ever fight. So, was Miss Su being unreasonable on her own?”
“If Your Highness is here to laugh at me, you can leave now.” Su Ziqin didn’t like the vampire’s gloating expression and immediately told her to leave.
Louise didn’t get angry. Instead, she laughed and sat down on a nearby sofa with a smile. “I heard you were in a car accident, so I came to see you. You don’t have to be so quick to ask me to leave, do you?”
“I don’t think our relationship is worth you making a special trip, is it?” Su Ziqin said coldly.
Louise rested her face on her hand. Her emerald eyes held a kind of joy that Su Ziqin couldn’t understand. Su Ziqin couldn’t help but frown. What does this vampire mean? She sees that my wife and I have a fight, so she’s going to take advantage of it?
Louise elegantly crossed her legs. Although winter was approaching, Louise was still wearing a high-slit long dress that was prone to showing a lot of skin. “Uncle Smith said that since we’ve finished our research, we’re considered guests of Fu Qingyun. Since her wife got into an accident, we should come and show our concern.”
“Oh, well, I’ve received your concern. You can go now.” Su Ziqin didn’t even bother to be polite anymore.
Louise saw her “do not approach” look and shook her head with a laugh. “You’re not serious, are you? I came with good intentions to see you and invite you out for dinner.”
“I…”
Louise immediately interrupted. “Don’t be so quick to refuse. You’ve been lying in the hospital for a week. Don’t you want to go out and walk around? Don’t you feel like you’re getting moldy?”
Su Ziqin turned her head. She was indeed getting moldy, but the idea of having dinner alone with a love rival felt strange no matter how she thought about it. And… didn’t Louise feel awkward?
“Ding-dong.” Her phone rang, interrupting Su Ziqin’s dilemma. Su Ziqin saw that it was a call from Xu Zhiqian, and she became more vigilant.
She wouldn’t forget why she had been lying in the hospital for a week. The source of that call still couldn’t be traced, and Su Ziqin was starting to get a phobia of the name “Xu Zhiqian.”
“Hello,” Su Ziqin answered Xu Zhiqian’s call anyway.
Xu Zhiqian’s voice was muffled and sounded a little down. “In the hospital? Do you mind coming out for a drink with me?
“You want me, a patient, to go drinking with you?” Su Ziqin laughed. “What’s wrong? Did Sister Yin cheat on you? You want to drown your sorrows?”
“Yes. I’m coming to find you.”
Su Ziqin’s heart skipped a beat. “You’re kidding, right?”
Beep, beep, beep. The call was dead. Xu Zhiqian had already hung up. Su Ziqin looked at the hung-up phone in disbelief and quickly called Li Zhengyin. But strangely, her phone was off. Su Ziqin had a bad feeling. Could it be that Li Zhengyin really cheated?
At the Chengnan film and television city, Li Zhengyin was lying weakly in a toilet stall, looking at her phone that had died in the toilet. She felt helpless.
But before she could dwell on it, the irritability in her heart was almost tearing her apart. “Damn it!”
She had only come to sign a spokesperson contract for an investment project. When she saw that it was Hua Yiqing, Li Zhengyin subconsciously wanted to avoid any suspicion. But who would have thought that her susceptible would come on so suddenly?
“Fu Qingyun, where are you?” She had called Fu Qingyun when she realized her state was not right. A sudden susceptible was clearly not normal. Li Zhengyin didn’t dare to trust anyone here now.
“Zhengyin, I know you’re in there. I can smell your pheromones.” Hua Yiqing’s voice appeared at the entrance of the restroom. Li Zhengyin didn’t dare to trust Hua Yiqing now, but she had eaten and drunk a lot of things here. She didn’t know what had gone wrong.
“Get out,” Li Zhengyin said weakly.
Hua Yiqing chuckled and released her pheromones. The pheromones were like a venomous snake, flicking its tongue at Li Zhengyin. Hua Yiqing walked toward the female Alpha restroom, pushing open every stall door to confirm if Li Zhengyin was inside.
The sounds of doors being pushed open rang in Li Zhengyin’s ears one after another. Hua Yiqing’s pheromones were constantly tormenting Li Zhengyin’s nerves. The stall door was pushed open, and Hua Yiqing looked at Li Zhengyin with a fiery gaze. Her expression was dull yet affectionate, as if they were back ten years ago.
“Zhengyin,” Hua Yiqing suddenly threw herself into Li Zhengyin’s arms and rubbed against her chest. “Zhengyin, I’ve missed you so much.” The last part of Hua Yiqing’s voice was like a scorpion’s tail with a hook, little by little eroding Li Zhengyin’s mind.
Li Zhengyin wanted to push her away, but Hua Yiqing hugged her even tighter. “Didn’t you say you were going to marry me? Then permanently mark me before you marry me. I haven’t been marked by anyone else. Believe me, I really haven’t. I’ve always loved you.”
“Get out,” Li Zhengyin said, using her strength. She stumbled and almost fell. Her arm hit the cold tile, and the sharp pain made her calm down a little. “Honey.” She mumbled and bit her tongue hard. Even if she died, she couldn’t betray that girl.
Hua Yiqing looked at Li Zhengyin in a daze, with a hint of disbelief in her eyes. “You’re calling someone else ‘honey’? I’m your wife. Zhengyin, why? Why don’t you want me?”
“Don’t call me that! I made it very clear to you. We broke up. You slept with someone else for your own future, and now you’re asking me why I don’t want you? I don’t love you anymore.”
Hua Yiqing was stunned. She stepped forward and squeezed Li Zhengyin’s shoulders. “Then who do you love? That ‘Zhiqian’? I told her you were taking a shower. We’ll have a pleasant afternoon and evening.”
“What did you say?” Li Zhengyin’s eyes widened in horror. She looked at the phone in the toilet in disbelief and reached out to get it.
Hua Yiqing held Li Zhengyin’s wrist and pressed her hand against her own face. “Zhengyin’s hands are meant to love me. How can you touch those things?”
“Get out!” Li Zhengyin pushed her away. She retrieved the phone and desperately pressed the power button, but it obviously wouldn’t turn on. There should be a scratch on the back of her phone. Xu Zhiqian accidentally made it.
Li Zhengyin’s hands trembled as she took off the phone case. The water wet her sleeve, but she didn’t care. When she took off the case, the back of the phone was as good as new. There was no scratch.
“You…”
Hua Yiqing took out a phone that looked almost identical to the one in Li Zhengyin’s hand from her bag. “Are you looking for this?”
Li Zhengyin stumbled and tried to grab it. Hua Yiqing dodged and gently pushed Li Zhengyin from behind, making her fall onto the sink.
“Hiss.” A burning pain came from her elbow. A few tears of pain welled up in Li Zhengyin’s eyes. She turned around and propped herself up on the sink with her hands on either side. “What do you want?”
Li Zhengyin was worried. Where was Fu Qingyun? Why hadn’t she arrived yet? She wasn’t worried that the person who answered the phone wasn’t Fu Qingyun. She always called Fu Qingyun directly. Li Zhengyin could say with a straight face that besides her wife’s number, she knew Fu Qingyun’s number by heart.
Because Fu Qingyun’s private email and phone number were the same, Li Zhengyin had sent her a lot of videos, so she knew her number by heart.
“What do I want?” Hua Yiqing tilted her head. “I want you to love me, just like you loved me every night before.”
Hua Yiqing pressed her body against Li Zhengyin. She was almost completely in Li Zhengyin’s arms. She buried her face in Li Zhengyin’s chest and said seductively, “Don’t hold back, okay? Your pheromones are getting stronger and stronger. Isn’t it better to have me? We’re so compatible.”
“I don’t…” Li Zhengyin’s hands were trembling uncontrollably. She tried her best to control her Alpha instincts, rejecting the sweet and delicious Omega in her arms.
Hua Yiqing chuckled. “I can feel how much your pheromones crave me right now. Zhengyin, Zhengyin, mmm.” A soft moan almost broke all of Li Zhengyin’s rationality.
“Should I not have come?” A cold female voice brought Li Zhengyin’s collapsing mind back. Li Zhengyin looked at Fu Qingyun, who had appeared at the entrance of the restroom, as if she was her savior. “Hurry up!”
“Fu Qingyun?” Hua Yiqing looked at the person who had suddenly appeared with confusion. Her hollow eyes made Fu Qingyun squint. Fu Qingyun stepped forward and gave Hua Yiqing a knife hand to the neck. Hua Yiqing’s eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
Fu Qingyun wasn’t kind enough to help up someone who had almost assaulted her friend. Hua Yiqing fell straight to the ground.
“Let me use your phone.” Li Zhengyin could barely stand, but she didn’t forget to ask Fu Qingyun for her phone.
Fu Qingyun casually handed her phone to her. She took out an inhibitor from her bag and mercilessly injected it into Li Zhengyin’s gland. She also used her brain to double the effect of the inhibitor.
“You should get some sleep. You need to go to the hospital now,” Fu Qingyun said coldly.
Li Zhengyin was dizzy. The double-dose inhibitor made her feel nauseous, but she still insisted on calling Xu Zhiqian.
If Xu Zhiqian didn’t answer, she would keep calling.
Fu Qingyun reluctantly put Li Zhengyin’s arm over her shoulder and helped her into the car. The after-effects of the inhibitor were constantly tormenting Li Zhengyin’s nerves. Even though her hand was too weak to hold her phone, Li Zhengyin used her willpower to dial Xu Zhiqian’s number again and again.
Her eyes were open, but they were unfocused. “Honey, I didn’t.”
Fu Qingyun didn’t know how Li Zhengyin made that sound. It was as if the words were carved into her bones.
“Humans are truly amazing.” Fu Qingyun took the phone from her hand, sent a message to Xu Zhiqian, and drove to the hospital. All the way there, Fu Qingyun kept hearing Li Zhengyin repeat, “Honey, I didn’t,” and “Honey, I only love you.”
