Chapter 73

North City Mental Hospital, as the name suggests, is a place for people with mental health issues. But the person Qin Renfeng was here to see today was the only sane person in the entire place.

Qin Sihai lay on the hospital bed, his mouth crooked and his eyes askew. A caregiver was feeding him. For the past year, he had only been able to eat liquid food to stay alive.

“Father, are you feeling better?” Qin Renfeng put on a very concerned expression. Anyone who didn’t know him would think he genuinely cared about Qin Sihai.

When Qin Sihai saw him, he made a wailing sound. His face turned red, and his hand trembled as he knocked the bowl out of the caregiver’s hand.

“Mr. Qin?” The caregiver looked at Qin Renfeng with a difficult expression. Every time Qin Renfeng came, Qin Sihai’s mental state would become extremely agitated, and he couldn’t even eat properly.

Qin Renfeng waved his hand at the caregiver. “You can go out first.”

The caregiver didn’t want to stay here any longer, as the atmosphere wasn’t very pleasant. The sound of the door closing echoed. Qin Renfeng gave the closed door a cold glance, walked to the bed, and leaned in to whisper in Qin Sihai’s ear, “Father, where did you put the family patriarch’s seal?”

Qin Renfeng’s words were like a venomous snake, cold and heartless. Qin Sihai turned his head away and made a few wailing sounds. A cold glint flashed in Qin Renfeng’s eyes. He reached out and grabbed the pillow from behind Qin Sihai’s head, covering his face with it.

Qin Sihai struggled violently, his limbs thrashing and making muffled sounds.

“My patience has a limit!” Qin Renfeng roared. For a year, he had been the public face of Panhai, but he knew very well that he could use Panhai’s status to develop Dingfeng, but it didn’t mean that the old geezers at Panhai recognized him.

Without the family patriarch’s seal, not a single old shareholder of Panhai was on his side. For a year, he had fought with Fu Qingyun and Li Zhengyin, and in the end, he even lost the Orca. Without Panhai’s support, the Orca was already at the end of its rope.

But a cunning rabbit has three burrows, let alone an old, calculating wolf like Qin Sihai. No matter how much Qin Renfeng searched the house and the company for a whole year, he couldn’t find where the family patriarch’s seal was.

Qin Sihai thrashed around, gradually losing strength, his limbs going limp on the bed. Qin Renfeng snorted coldly, throwing the pillow aside.

Fresh air rushed into Qin Sihai’s nose and mouth, and he took in large gulps of air. Qin Renfeng looked at him like a defeated dog, straightened his suit, and said, “I don’t have much time for you, Father. I’ll be back in a week. I hope you’ve thought it through by then.”

After Qin Renfeng left, Qin Sihai coughed and sat up in bed, his eyes like those of a predatory lone wolf. He no longer looked pitiful. “You will never get the family patriarch’s seal.”

The atmosphere at the dinner with Wu Jianjun and the Fu family was truly strange. Wu Jianjun kept talking to Su Ziqin throughout the meal.

Fu Chenlan nudged Fu Qingyun with her elbow. “Little Yun’er, don’t you think it’s a bit inappropriate for your godfather to be talking to your wife like that?”

Gu Qingli grabbed Fu Chenlan’s clothes. “Don’t say anything.” Gu Qingli had also noticed the family resemblance between Su Ziqin and Wu Jianjun. It was good to let them bond. Her daughter-in-law was a good child, but she was very detached from family. All she did was work and be with Little Yun’er.

Gu Qingli glanced at her daughter’s pale neck. For her daughter’s sake, perhaps it was better to let her daughter-in-law find some family to distract her. Gu Qingli didn’t care much about grandchildren, but her daughter was so clueless now. Wasn’t she just letting her daughter-in-law take advantage of her all the time?

“Haven’t you met your parents?” Wu Jianjun asked in surprise. His pupils constricted as he glanced at Fu Chenlan. The Fu family didn’t care about social status, but he hadn’t expected Fu Chenlan to let Fu Qingyun marry an orphan.

Su Ziqin felt she had been clear enough, but since he was an elder, she couldn’t be too impatient. She had to patiently say, “I was just a baby when the Su family adopted me. How could I have met my parents?”

Fu Qingyun noticed that the little fox was getting a bit impatient. She reached out her hand under the table and held Su Ziqin’s. All of Su Ziqin’s impatience vanished instantly. My wife is so gentle. What do I do? I want… When is this dinner going to end?

Wu Jianjun’s eyes darkened. Their family had moved away from Jing City a long time ago, and they didn’t know much about a small family like the Sus. Maybe he should investigate.

Fu Chenlan yawned. “I’m telling you, Old Cow, that’s enough. My daughter-in-law is in a hurry to go home.”

Su Ziqin gave her a glare. “Mother, you’re so good at talking. You’re the one in a hurry to go home.”

“That’s right. I finally have a day off tomorrow, and I plan to take the whole family out to have some fun.” Fu Chenlan raised her eyebrows at Su Ziqin. The teasing in her expression was not lost on Su Ziqin.

Oh, great. Su Ziqin chuckled to herself. What does Mother mean by that? “Are you going to stay at our place?”

Fu Chenlan picked up her cup and played with it. She had already finished her meal. “What do you mean ‘your place’ and ‘our place’? We’re all one family. What’s wrong, daughter-in-law? You don’t welcome me?”

You know the answer, so why are you asking? Su Ziqin gritted her teeth. What was going on with the Fu family recently? Was the whole family trying to interrupt her and her wife? My wife and I are so sweet and happy now. Wasn’t that hard enough to achieve? No, I must press my advantage and get a permanent mark from my wife soon.

“I didn’t say you’re not welcome. I’m just worried it might be inconvenient for you.”

Fu Chenlan looked at Fu Qingyun, who hadn’t said a word. “Little Yun’er, is it inconvenient for your mother to stay at your place for a night?”

“It’s fine,” Fu Qingyun said flatly. I’ll just have to keep an eye on the little fox and make sure she doesn’t get too wild at home.

Yangyang’s eyes lit up. If his mother was going, he could go too. “I want to go too.”

Su Ziqin gave him a glare. What’s this little guy doing trying to join in on the fun?

Fu Yanyang pretended not to see Su Ziqin’s look. His eyes were full of expectation as he looked at Fu Qingyun. “Sister, I want to go. I haven’t seen you in a long time. I want to sleep with you.”

“No!” Su Ziqin blurted out. “Your primary genders are different. You can’t sleep together.”

Fu Yanyang didn’t back down. The words came out without him thinking. “My sister and I have the same secondary gender. Secondary gender is more important than primary gender. You two even have different secondary genders.”

“What are you talking about?” Su Ziqin laughed, hugging Fu Qingyun’s arm. “If your sister were an Omega, I’d love her to death too. It’s just a bit more trouble to get married. What? Yangyang, do you want us to be an OO couple?”

“You… you’re so mean, sister-in-law.” Fu Yanyang was so angry he couldn’t speak. When it came to bickering, he really wasn’t a match for Su Ziqin.

At this point, Fu Chenlan sighed and looked at Fu Qingyun. “My Little Yun’er has been a good and sweet [unauthorized copy]girl since she was little. I thought she would be an Omega when she grew up, but she ended up being an Alpha.”

Hearing her disappointed tone, Gu Qingli gave her a cold glance. “Are you blaming me for not giving you an Omega?”

Fu Chenlan flinched in fear. “Wife, I didn’t say that.” Fu Chenlan’s biggest regret was not having an Omega child, but Little Yun’er was so beautiful that it made up for it. How could she blame her wife?

“What gender a child is has nothing to do with the Omega,” Wu Jianjun said. He was overjoyed to see Fu Chenlan getting put in her place. “It’s all the Alpha’s fault for not being good enough.”

Fu Chenlan’s lips twitched. She looked at the gloating Old Cow and threw her cup at him. Wu Jianjun quickly dodged it, and the cup shattered on the floor with a bang.

“Wu Jianjun, can you stop interrupting me and my wife?” Fu Chenlan said.

Wu Jianjun slammed the table and stood up. “Fu Chenlan! Are you serious?”

Su Ziqin, who loved a good show, watched the two with sparkling eyes. Fight, fight, fight! She quietly pulled Fu Qingyun’s hand. “Honey, let’s run.”

Seeing her excited expression, anyone who didn’t know better would think Su Ziqin had just said, “Let’s elope.”

Fu Qingyun sent a mental message to Gu Qingli and then pulled Su Ziqin out of the restaurant. As soon as they got to the door, Su Ziqin threw herself into Fu Qingyun’s arms. “Hurry and carry me away! My wife is going to catch up to us.”

Fu Qingyun was stunned for a few seconds. “You have another wife?”

Su Ziqin smiled brightly, cupped Fu Qingyun’s cheeks, and stood on her tiptoes to whisper in her ear, “Baby, dirty talk. Do you know what that is?”

Fu Qingyun remembered the movie Li Zhengyin had watched with her. Li Zhengyin had mentioned that term to her. It was supposedly to spice things up, so sometimes Omegas liked to add a little performance to the bedroom.

“Should I play along?” Fu Qingyun was new to this game.

Su Ziqin wrapped her arms around Fu Qingyun’s neck and laughed in her arms, tears of laughter welling up in her eyes. “You’re so cute, baby.” I want to have sex with you. What do I do?

Fu Qingyun picked Su Ziqin up, holding her. She said earnestly, “Then let’s run first, so your wife doesn’t find us.”

“Okay, let’s run.” Su Ziqin rubbed her face against Fu Qingyun’s chest. My wife is so cute! She doesn’t understand but she’s still playing along with me. But Su Ziqin also felt that dirty talk might not have much of an effect on Fu Qingyun. Only she was getting excited, and that wasn’t the result she wanted.

The two of them took a cab home. Su Ziqin finally realized that she should never try to play dirty talk with Fu Qingyun again.

Saying things like, “You’re better than my wife,” would only lead to trouble. Fu Qingyun would obediently reply, “Which wife are you talking about?”

Su Ziqin complained internally, If you’re going to ask, why are you stopping? At first, Su Ziqin didn’t give up and still tried to use dirty talk to stimulate Fu Qingyun. But her wife, this goddess, couldn’t be stimulated. She would just ask a million questions like a curious baby.

In the end, Su Ziqin couldn’t take it anymore. She covered Fu Qingyun’s mouth with her hand. “Don’t talk. Just kiss me.” Don’t make me flip you over and get on top of you. Damn it! I’m so mad.

The morning sun shone into the room. Su Ziqin was woken up by a phone ringing. “Honey, your phone is ringing.”

But there was no response. Su Ziqin touched the blanket next to her. It was already cold. Su Ziqin’s eyes shot open. “Honey?”

The phone kept ringing. Su Ziqin finally realized it was her own phone. She quickly answered. “Hello?”

“Daughter-in-law, get down here and eat!”

Su Ziqin was stunned for a moment. Fu Chenlan said they were going somewhere yesterday, right? When did they get here?

“We came as soon as you said, ‘You’re better than my wife,’ last night.”

Su Ziqin covered her face. This is a social death situation. Did Fu Chenlan hear everything she said last night?

“Hurry up, this is important.” Fu Chenlan’s tone suddenly became serious. The awkwardness in Su Ziqin’s eyes faded. Fu Chenlan rarely spoke so seriously. It seemed they weren’t going out to have fun…

Little Fox: I think everyone in this family is a little off, except for my wife.
