A OO Love After Officially Announcing with the Best Actress - Chapter 11
Chu Feng lay on the tree trunk for half the night. The night breeze carried the muggy, humid feeling unique to summer. After keeping watch for over half a week, she finally saw that figure.
Li Fengling pushed open the window. Wearing a silk nightgown, she leaned against the windowsill to look at the moon.
Her waterfall-like black hair cascaded down, and she seemed to be coated in a layer of luster, looking breathtakingly beautiful in the night, the moonlight, and the cool breeze.
The large tree nearby suddenly rustled loudly, and a huge object fell from it.
Startled, Li Fengling hurriedly shut the window. She waited behind the window for a moment, then gently pulled it open again, only to see Chu Feng sprawled beneath the tree, grimacing and groaning in pain.
After a pause, Li Fengling couldn’t hold it back and burst into a soft laugh.
Chu Feng’s face turned bright red. She scrambled up, wanting to rub her sore butt but not daring to.
Li Fengling’s laughter softened. She lowered the hand covering her lips and looked at her with interest.
Lin Ke looked up, momentarily blurred as to whether the person in front of her was Li Fengling or Lin Bingran.
“You can speak!” Chu Feng said eagerly. “What’s your name?”
Li Fengling shook her head, smiled at her, and prepared to close the window.
“Wait!”
“Miss!”
Li Fengling paused. She opened the window wide, looked at Chu Feng, and asked softly, “Hello, can I help you?”
She didn’t speak often, so her voice was a bit raspy, carrying a strange and breathy tone.
Li Fengling immediately closed her mouth and pressed her lips into a straight line.
Chu Feng pressed further: “What’s your name?”
Li Fengling didn’t speak. She vanished behind the window, and when she reappeared, she held a string of items in her hand.
The wind blew, making the bells crisp—a jingling sound of circling emeralds.
Her name was Fengling (Wind Chime).
Li Fengling gave a pursed-lip smile and closed the window.
“Cut!”
“Passed! Prepare for the scene transition!”
Once the Li family scenes were finished, the production crew disassembled the props to head to the next filming location.
The previous scenes had been shot from dusk until the early hours of the morning. Lin Ke was severely sleep-deprived, yet she still had to head to the set to film the next scene.
This was a night scene, taking place at the Chu house.
After Lu Tu coordinated with Shen Feng, the assistant director arranged to clear the set immediately once the scene decoration was done.
Shen Feng told Lin Ke to lie on the bed, mounting cameras at the head and foot of the bed, adjusting the lens and lighting toward her.
The lighting and art departments were incredibly busy, running around without a break. Shen Feng held her notebook, discussing the final few storyboards with the camera operator.
Lin Ke held the script to read, but she couldn’t absorb any of it. Her eyes were bloodshot from the lack of sleep. She had no choice but to kick the bedsheet aside and sit on the bed with her legs bent to ease her awkwardness.
Lu Tu: “How is it?”
Lin Ke pursed her lips: “A bit hot.”
Her throat was dry and sore, and her forehead felt a bit feverish.
Lu Tu nodded and whispered, “Of course it’s hot. Best Actress Lin is super hot!”
Lin Ke remembered something and nodded like an idiot: “Hotter than the June sun, burning hot.”
Lu Tu burst out laughing: “Do you need scent blocker? You seem to be sweating.”
Lin Ke nodded, and Lu Tu fished out a bottle of blocker to give her, saying, “Lin Bingran will be over shortly. Once the set is cleared, it’ll be quiet.”
The set did a final check on the lights and cameras. The stylist gave Lin Ke her final touches and conveniently wiped away her sweat, teasing, “Young people really have a lot of fiery energy.”
Lin Ke: “…”
People gradually dispersed. Lin Bingran walked in wearing a peach-colored embroidered cheongsam. Du Yi followed her in, taking the chance to exchange pleasantries and jokes with Shen Feng, asking how late this scene would shoot so he could order late-night snacks or breakfast for everyone.
Treating the crew several times a week—the Best Actress really had money to burn. Lin Ke couldn’t help but complain internally.
Lin Bingran walked over gracefully. Lin Ke’s eyes darted away, completely not daring to look at her, raising her script to cover her face.
Lu Tu smacked Lin Ke. “What are you hiding for? Didn’t you say you’d have this scene in the bag when you took the role?”
Lin Ke’s throat felt sticky with heat. Before this, she truly had felt no reaction toward intimate contact with an Omega, but yesterday morning…
Those few delicate moans from Lin Bingran were truly so seductive they stole one’s soul, so seductive she was almost becoming homophobic.
Lin Ke wiped her sweaty palms on her pants. Her costumes in this crew were truly getting more and more shabby by the set; her pajamas were just a sleeveless tank top and a pair of short boxers. According to the script, she didn’t even have underwear left, wearing only nipple covers.
Lin Ke adjusted her clothes a bit unnaturally.
On the other side.
Lin Bingran was clearly much more professional, though she didn’t like the smell of the scent blocker. She asked, “Still not enough?”
Guo Rongrong held the spray, spritzing frantically. “Of course it’s not enough. Your heat cycle is coming up; shouldn’t you spray more? Honestly, if this scene were pushed back a few days…”
Lin Bingran interrupted her, saying, “Omegas go into heat every day. Does that mean we stop working?”
Guo Rongrong fell silent. She fastened the buttons on the side of Lin Bingran’s cheongsam collar, and after a moment asked, “Do you want to take a short-acting suppressant?”
“It causes fluctuations in the heat cycle,” Lin Bingran said. “No need for now.”
Guo Rongrong wanted to grumble a few more words, but Du Yi walked over and said, “I…”
Lin Bingran: “Go outside. The set is being cleared.”
Du Yi swallowed his words and patted Guo Rongrong’s shoulder, telling her to keep a close eye on Lin Bingran.
“Actors in position,” Shen Feng said.
In the play, every sexual encounter between Chu Qiu and the man from the neighboring village became an indelible shadow in Chu Feng’s heart.
She secretly peeked at her sister’s private affairs and felt nauseous. At the same time, she yearned for beautiful things—Li Fengling.
The sound of the night rain was irritating. Chu Feng tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. The summer was muggy, so she got up to open the window, letting the wind pour in.
The cattail fan was casually left on the bed. Chu Feng’s sleeping posture was wild, her legs almost tangled with the bedsheets.
Shen Feng gestured toward Lin Bingran. Lin Bingran sat at the foot of the bed and reached for the sheet. The friction between the sheet and the bamboo mat caused her arm to slip, making her stumble.
“Cut!”
Shen Feng said, “Run the scene once!”
Lin Ke “woke up” from the bed with a flushed face, ruffling her short hair, only to realize she had sweated again.
“It’s too hot,” Lin Ke turned and said. Hiding behind the camera, Lu Tu picked up the cattail fan to fan her.
The movie used on-set audio recording, so fans couldn’t be used during filming. The room only had two blocks of ice to cool it down.
Lin Ke lay back on the bed to “sleep.” Lin Bingran sat by her bedside, gently kneading her wrist.
From her fall from the tree, Chu Feng’s hand had a slight sprain.
Lin Ke awoke from the dream state, looking at Li Fengling blankly and hesitantly.
Li Fengling smiled at her. Chu Feng sat up and looked toward the window; both the window and the bedroom door were tightly shut.
Shen Feng called a stop to this take, saying, “The emotion is wrong. At the moment she turns her head, Chu Feng realizes she’s in a dream because the window in reality is open. The closed doors and windows are a hint to the audience, but also a self-hint to Chu Feng.”
“She knows it’s a dream, but the closed doors and windows in the dream give her a sense of security. She indulges herself in acting upon the Li Fengling in her dream.”
“Don’t be too rigid, and your panting is bone-dry. How can you succeed if you don’t let go?!”
Filming resumed.
Lin Ke embraced Li Fengling, just as she had learned from her peeping. Following her curves, she lifted Lin Bingran’s cheongsam.
Slender calves, smooth skin. She left sweat on it, and finally, the skirt stopped at the thigh.
It couldn’t be pushed up further.
Lin Ke looked up at Lin Bingran in panic. The Li Fengling played by Lin Bingran was smiling at her.
This kind of smile encouraged Lin Ke. She reached her hand behind Lin Bingran’s back to find the zipper of the cheongsam.
The sliding sound of the zipper became like a scythe suspended over her head.
It seemed to catch some of Lin Bingran’s skin; Lin Ke felt Lin Bingran’s body tremble slightly.
“Continue,” Lin Bingran said, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz.
But the emotion Lin Ke had managed to summon with great difficulty was gone. She exhaled a gentle breath of hot air that brushed against Lin Bingran’s earlobe, then slowly backed away.
Shen Feng frowned and shouted, “Cut.”
Ten minutes break.
Lin Bingran rubbed her back, reaching back to pull the zipper up again. “Is filming an intimate scene with me really that miserable?”
Lin Ke paused, bending her knees to bury her face in them, saying in a muffled voice, “No, it’s not.”
Lin Bingran smiled indifferently, taking the cattail fan to fan herself.
The weather was too hot, and hot sweat drenched her neck. Lin Ke smelled the scent of an Omega’s pheromones.
Lin Bingran said, “Did you know? The role of Chu Feng was initially set to be a female Alpha.”
Lin Ke froze.
If it were an Alpha, this scene would definitely be very easy to shoot.
Lin Bingran suddenly became stern: “If the character hadn’t been changed, would you even have landed this role?”
Lin Ke was stunned, feeling unfamiliar with Lin Bingran’s sudden shift in emotion.
Lin Bingran tapped the fan against Lin Ke’s head and said, “Focus. I’ve never taught such a stupid student.”
Lin Ke turned her head away, avoiding Lin Bingran’s gaze.
In yesterday’s script, Lin Bingran had analyzed all of Chu Feng’s emotions cleanly and sharply.
She remembered… when Lin Bingran was interpreting this scene, she said Chu Feng wouldn’t cherish Li Fengling gently.
Lin Ke pursed her lips, and under Shen Feng’s command, started over.
This time, she brought an impatient impulse, carrying anger and resentment. Chu Feng didn’t understand intimacy; her only experience was peeking through a door. She loathed this kind of thing, and loathed herself for having this kind of emotion toward Li Fengling.
But she couldn’t control it.
She let Chu Feng’s emotions show externally. During the entanglement, for a brief moment, her expression verged on aggression.
She lost control in her dream, indulging herself, doing exactly as she pleased.
Lin Ke held Lin Bingran, her hand moving from her arm, preparing to knead her chest through the cheongsam.
Shen Feng called a stop just in time.
Lin Ke swallowed her saliva, standing up with a burning red face once more. “Teacher Lin, I’m sorry.”
Lin Bingran’s arm had been squeezed by Lin Ke to the point of leaving two red marks. She smiled and said, “It’s fine. It saves us from bothering the makeup artist tomorrow.”
Lin Ke wiped the sweat from her forehead and called Lu Tu over to fetch a block of ice.
Guo Rongrong glared fiercely at Lin Ke, her expression looking like she was staring at an enemy.
Shen Feng called Lin Ke to the side and said, “Why so fierce?”
Lin Ke choked, “I…”
Shen Feng: “Using a bit of force is fine, of course, but your expression doesn’t look good! It’s too ferocious. Aren’t you afraid of scaring Li Fengling?”
Lin Bingran went behind the monitor to watch the recording.
Shen Feng walked back and said, “Xiao Lin’s expression just now didn’t look good, but it had a bit of that feeling.”
Lin Bingran: “Actually, Li Fengling should be more active and dominant.”
Shen Feng was visibly stunned and said, “Why?”
Lin Bingran said, “This is Chu Feng’s dream. She rejects sexual relationships; perhaps a passive, half-yielding acceptance makes more sense.”
Shen Feng disagreed: “In Chu Feng’s eyes, Li Fengling is an absolutely pure existence. It cannot be.”
Lin Bingran shrugged and stopped trying to persuade her.
Shen Feng suddenly smiled with an unreadable expression and said, “What, you want to interfere with the director’s ideas?”
Lin Ke heard the entire conversation. Ticking her tongue, an incredible thought surfaced in her mind.
Was Lin Bingran… helping her out of a tight spot?
Shen Feng: “Continue once you’ve rested enough.”
Lin Ke rubbed her dry eyes, her pale skin flushed, her pheromones leaking out frantically in puffs.
She said to Lin Bingran, who had sat back down, “Thank you.”
Lin Bingran felt the green plum scent was a bit strong, but looking at Lin Ke’s state, perhaps she was just releasing her pheromones randomly because she was too relaxed. “You’re welcome. I was just discussing another possibility with the director.”
To her surprise, Lin Ke actually looked a bit moved and said, “Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll buy it for you. How about a set of jianbing guozi?”
Lin Bingran: “…”
