A OO Love After Officially Announcing with the Best Actress - Chapter 22
The next day, after the rain, the sky was clear for thousands of miles. The art and set departments were making their final preparations.
Lin Bingran and Lin Ke had both finished makeup and hair and were only waiting to film.
Shen Feng asked, “Do you know how girls go to bed together?”
Lin Ke practically steamed with heat. She turned her head and said nothing, grateful that she had injected herself with a short-acting suppressant before coming.
Lin Bingran teased, “Please explain.”
Shen Feng looked at Lin Bingran. “You don’t need much guidance from me. Xiao Lin.”
Suddenly being named, Lin Ke whipped her head around like a startled animal, nearly twisting her neck.
Shen Feng gestured for her to calm down and asked, “Do you prefer male alphas or female alphas?”
Lin Ke’s lashes fluttered. Her eyes drifted. “I like alphas.”
Shen Feng began gently. “Then don’t think of Bingran as an omega. Don’t burden yourself mentally. After the set is cleared, aside from the actors, there will only be the cameras, the cinematographer, and me.”
Lin Ke nodded. After being reassured, she calmed down a little.
Then Shen Feng followed with the hard part. “The script is written with a large scale, but once it’s put on camera, nothing will be exposed and we won’t film the front directly. The key areas will all be covered.”
Lin Ke choked, clearly not reacting in time.
Shen Feng said, “Hm?”
Lin Bingran watched the show leisurely.
Lin Ke hurriedly said, “It’s fine! No problem!”
Shen Feng took out the storyboard script. “There’s also one side-angle shot. For both of you.”
Lin Ke accepted the storyboard script. After looking at it, she could not control the heat on her face and handed it to Lin Bingran.
Shen Feng had decent art skills. Most of the storyboards for the main scenes were drawn by her personally.
In the image, the two people were tangled together, full of lingering intimacy and ambiguity.
Lin Bingran nodded, indicating that she had no problem.
The unrelated personnel left the set. When Lu Tu left, she raised her hand and high-fived Lin Ke.
The “guest” sent news, saying Young Master Li might never return.
Master Li asked Ji Fengling whether she was willing to leave the Li family an heir.
Ji Fengling smashed the master’s bowl and cup. After returning to her room, tears could not stop flowing. She was like a fish stranded on a beach, slowly dying of thirst on the sand. She wanted to seek release just once.
The wind chime was hung on the window frame.
Chu Feng came. Her expression was pleasantly surprised. Ji Fengling had put on makeup to hide her exhaustion. The moment they met, she tangled herself in a kiss with Chu Feng. Chu Feng sank into dizziness, her gaze tightly fixed on Ji Fengling’s buttons as they came undone one by one.
With the posture of offering herself up, Ji Fengling gave her first time to Chu Feng.
Her front was half-exposed, her collarbones stretching to both sides. Ji Fengling trembled and shrank back, her eyes red and filled with tears. One hand held her loosened clothing together as she sat astride Chu Feng’s lap and pressed her down.
Lin Bingran and Lin Ke went behind the screen one after another to remove their clothes and wrap themselves in bathrobes. They climbed onto the bed, then each threw the bath towels aside.
The blanket covered them tightly. It was Lin Ke’s first time sharing a bed with someone else, and her expression was a little dazed.
Lin Bingran had already entered the role. Her eyes had never dried, and her tear-soaked amber irises looked as clear as glass beads.
Shen Feng did not speak. She stood quietly behind the monitor, waiting for them to adjust their emotions.
Moved, Lin Ke reached out to wipe Lin Bingran’s tears.
“Hold me,” Lin Bingran said in a hoarse voice, reaching out with longing to circle Lin Ke’s shoulders.
The moment their skin touched, Lin Ke froze in place.
Lin Bingran said, “Don’t move.”
Lin Ke instantly stiffened where she was. Her two arms propped up her body, suspending her above Lin Bingran. She held that position until sweat formed on her forehead.
Lin Bingran wanted to laugh. After a long while, she pressed down her smile and asked with tears shimmering in her eyes, “Are you performing a plank?”
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Ke’s face turned red. She rolled over and collapsed to one side, sweating heavily as she slipped off the bed.
She was wearing a dudou. Against the grayish fabric were protective covers, and she also had on black safety shorts. After sliding off the bed, she picked up her bathrobe and ran out of the set.
Shen Feng clicked her tongue and made a gesture to the cinematographer. “Rest first.”
The cinematographer promptly turned off the camera. Lin Bingran propped herself up on the mattress and wiped away her tears.
Shen Feng joked, “We might as well have let you play Chu Feng. Xiao Lin’s current state is more suitable for Ji Fengling.”
Lin Bingran said meaningfully, “Is that so?”
Lin Ke stood in the corridor. June had not yet passed, and Water Town in midsummer was unusually hot.
There was no one downstairs. Not many people were working today, and everyone was hiding from the sun in the hotel or inside the rooms.
Lin Ke stood in the hot wind. Smelling smoke, she turned her head.
Fang Wuyu stood around the corner, only a sliver of clothing visible. As if sensing something, she turned and looked at Lin Ke.
Lin Ke tightened the bath towel around herself. “Teacher… Fang.”
Fang Wuyu smiled. “Why aren’t you calling me sister-in-law anymore?”
The situation was different now. Lin Ke could not say it. She lowered her head like a child who had done something wrong, her side profile still carrying a youthful innocence.
Fang Wuyu walked over, shook out a women’s cigarette, and asked, “Want one?”
Lin Ke freed one hand and took it between two fingers. She did not have a lighter. Fang Wuyu offered her own cigarette.
Lin Ke was obviously startled. The glowing tip of the cigarette was offered farther forward. Lin Ke lowered her head, aligned her cigarette with it, took two puffs, then moved away.
Fang Wuyu said, “You’re an old smoker. When did you learn to smoke?”
Lin Ke exhaled a cloud of smoke. The nicotine numbed her nerves and eased her tension. “Middle school.”
Fang Wuyu was very surprised and asked rather abruptly, “That’s very young. Did something happen?”
Lin Ke lowered her head. “I went bad back then. Smoking isn’t good.”
Fang Wuyu fell into her memories. “When you were in middle school, that was around the time No Return aired.”
Smoke blew into Lin Ke’s eyes, and she raised a hand to rub them a few times.
Fang Wuyu said, “When we filmed No Return, I was nineteen. So was she. By the time it aired, we were twenty. Back then, because of Lu Meng, she almost couldn’t survive in the industry.”
Lin Ke pressed her hand on the railing. The stone was scorching hot, burning her palm.
Fang Wuyu looked at her. “Sorry. Ranran said you’re her fan. Hearing this must be hard for you to accept, right?”
Lin Ke shook her head. The cigarette quickly burned to the end.
Fang Wuyu was a little surprised. “You smoke that fast?”
Maybe it was too hot outside. Lin Ke only wanted to leave quickly.
“If this film is released overseas, the scenes should be kept. Unlike back then for us, all the intimate scenes were cut completely.”
Lin Ke suddenly shook her hand. The cigarette butt fell to the ground, and she stepped on it hard to extinguish it.
“What’s wrong?” Fang Wuyu asked.
Lin Ke said, “I burned my hand.”
“Is it serious?” Fang Wuyu took a small tube of ointment from her pocket.
Lin Ke was a little surprised. “Teacher Fang carries this with her?”
Fang Wuyu smiled. “Someone often gets burned.”
A blister had formed on Lin Ke’s finger, burning painfully. She hid her hand behind her back and said, “I’m fine. I’ll go back to filming first.”
She turned around. Unfortunately, the timing was truly bad.
Lin Bingran and Shen Feng had come out to find their runaway female lead and had watched most of the scene.
The two had stood together, heads lowered toward one another as they lit cigarettes, smoke curling between them. They had exchanged a few pleasantries. Lin Ke had burned her hand, and Fang Wuyu had taken out ointment, about to apply it for her.
Shen Feng smacked her lips and asked, “What are you doing?”
Lin Ke said, “I smoked a cigarette. I’ll go chew some mint candy right away!”
Lin Bingran rubbed the back of her neck. After catching a cold, her gland felt a little sore and swollen. She asked Fang Wuyu, “You didn’t stay at the hotel?”
Fang Wuyu smiled. “I came here to travel. Why would I stay in the hotel? Your cold hasn’t recovered, so I brought medicine for you.”
Shen Feng said, “Mm, Xiao Fang really is thoughtful.”
Fang Wuyu smiled and said half-jokingly, “You’re all out here. Is filming not going smoothly?”
Lin Ke’s steps paused. Perhaps it was instinct at that moment, but she turned her head and saw the ambition in Fang Wuyu’s eyes.
“I can film it,” Fang Wuyu said. “Just this one scene. I can be Xiao Lin’s double.”
Lin Ke’s brain buzzed. Her fingers dug into the wooden door, and a splinter stabbed under her nail, bringing her back to herself. She held her hand and ran into the room.
Shen Feng tactfully refused. “Wuyu, film is not a child’s game. You can’t say things like that carelessly. If it gets out, it will damage the crew’s image.”
Fang Wuyu lowered her head. “I…”
Shen Feng patted Lin Bingran’s shoulder. “I’m going back first.”
Lin Bingran frowned. “Since when did you become this thoughtless?”
Fang Wuyu put out her cigarette. “I saw Xiao Lin wasn’t in the right state, so I pushed her a little. Jie, you used to be decisive and absolute on set. You scared me plenty of times. Now you’re this gentle toward newcomers?”
Lin Bingran said, “My heart has grown broader.”
The corner of Fang Wuyu’s mouth moved, and her expression became lost. “You two still have a bed scene. Back then, we didn’t even have one kiss.”
Lin Bingran said, “Didn’t we still win awards?”
Fang Wuyu said, “I’m jealous.”
“Go date someone,” Lin Bingran said.
Fang Wuyu asked, “Can I wait for you?”
Lin Bingran shook her head. “I’m older now. I like younger ones.”
Fang Wuyu struggled. “I’m one month younger than you.”
Lin Bingran had endured for two days, and now she finally could not help it. “Do you celebrate your lunar birthday or your Gregorian birthday?”
Fang Wuyu: “…Find someone and make me give up.”
Lin Bingran said, “Find who? Everyone around me is around your age or someone like Shen Feng. It’s not like I can find Lin Ke, that omega.”
Fang Wuyu: “…”
Lin Bingran crossed her arms, the large bath towel covering her body. “I’m going back to film.”
Fang Wuyu asked, “How’s your cold?”
Lin Bingran touched her forehead. “Still a little hot.”
Fang Wuyu took out the bag placed in the corner and said, “I estimate your heat is coming soon. Your resistance is lower, and the scenes you’ve been filming lately are rather special. Carry this with you.”
It was two short-acting suppressant injections.
Lin Bingran said, “Rongrong has a whole box.”
Fang Wuyu stuffed them to her. “Can those be the same as the ones I prepared? Take them. I should have stayed with the crew to observe you for a week, but something suddenly came up at the hospital, so my leave was canceled. Pay attention to yourself.”
Lin Bingran felt around for her phone, only to realize that she had only two pieces of cloth on her body and had not brought anything else. “What time is your flight?”
“In a bit.” Fang Wuyu raised her wrist and looked at her watch. “Come to the hospital for a checkup after filming. You can’t delay it anymore.”
Lin Bingran said, “I’ll have someone send you.”
Fang Wuyu nodded and suddenly smiled. “Don’t tell Lin Ke about me.”
Lin Bingran raised an eyebrow. “Don’t tease the kid.”
Fang Wuyu smiled. “She’s quite pretty. If you weren’t here, I’d pursue her.”
Fang Wuyu waved goodbye. Before leaving, she said, “Jie, I still prefer being a doctor.”
Lin Bingran lazily waved her hand. She stood outside for a while before returning to set, where she saw a bulge under the blanket on the bed.
Shen Feng pointed at Lin Ke. “She’s been crying for ages.”
Lin Bingran went over and poked the blanket bulge, puzzled. “You couldn’t act the scene well, and you still have the nerve to cry?”
Lin Ke hid under the blanket, wrapping herself tightly in it as she retorted, “I’m not crying!”
Such an obvious nasal voice.
How cute, Lin Bingran thought wickedly. She went to lift the blanket. “Aren’t you stuffy?”
Lin Ke snatched it back. “I’m cold!”
Lin Bingran pulled hard on the blanket. Lin Ke pulled it back just as hard. The two of them tugged one corner of the blanket back and forth, as if two children were throwing a tantrum.
Shen Feng roared, “That’s a silk blanket! Are we still filming or not?!”
After the chaos, filming started again. From the kissing scene onward, Lin Ke was not in the right state.
Her mind was full of Fang Wuyu’s ambitious eyes. She kissed absentmindedly and even bit Lin Bingran’s lip.
Lin Bingran hissed. “Hiss—”
“What’s wrong?” Lin Ke asked blankly, subconsciously wiping away the moisture at the corner of her mouth with her hand.
Lin Bingran guided her to lie down. “Focus.”
Lin Ke propped herself up halfway and saw the dudou Lin Bingran was wearing. It was made of silk, embroidered with drooping crabapple flowers blooming in March springlight.
Lin Bingran reached out and pulled the tie of her dudou. The camera filmed Lin Bingran’s close-up expression from above.
She ignored the trembling person in her arms and professionally performed the character’s emotions.
The dudou was taken away, and a palm passed over Lin Ke’s back. Lin Ke felt as if electricity ran through her spine. Her legs went weak, and the foot she had braced against the bed disturbed the sheets, pulling out several wrinkles.
Lin Bingran leaned in to kiss her. The damp, hot sensation made her scalp tingle, and her temples throbbed with heat.
Lin Bingran touched her face, touched her ears, stroked her hair and neck. Lin Bingran’s nails were trimmed neatly. They brushed past the gland at the back of her neck, the touch gentle, stirring up a wave of itchiness.
Lin Bingran suddenly said, “If you can’t keep filming, don’t force yourself.”
A wave of powerlessness surged through Lin Ke. She collapsed to one side, sniffling as if she had been bullied.
Shen Feng was speechless. “Xiao Lin, what’s going on?!”
“This is the first time I’ve been disliked this much.” Lin Bingran’s expression was fascinating as she picked up the bathrobe and threw it to Lin Ke.
Lin Ke said, “…I-I have a barrier!”
Most of Lin Bingran’s anger faded and turned into pity. “A physical barrier?”
