Chapter 50

“You’re awake, hm?” Lin Bingran coaxed softly by Lin Ke’s ear.

Lin Ke’s eyes were still half-lidded and dazed. Her consciousness moved before her body did, pulling Lin Bingran’s pair of icy hands into the quilt and placing them against her chest.

Lin Bingran curled her fingertips.

Lin Ke’s heart tightened from the cold. “…I dreamed again.”

Lin Bingran smiled. The dazed Lin Ke was simply too adorable. She got up and moved away, stripping off all the cumbersome layers on herself.

Lin Ke gradually woke up and watched as Lin Bingran slipped smoothly under the sheet, rolled onto her, and kissed her all over.

“Mm—” Lin Ke instinctively retreated.

Lin Bingran forcefully hooked her back, kissing her while asking, “Did I freeze you?”

Lin Ke nodded, tears pooling in her eyes.

Lin Bingran pressed her lips together and moved away. The tip of her nose and the corners of her eyes were also flushed red. “Why are you acting so pitiful?”

Lin Ke said, “You’re the pitiful one.”

Lin Bingran smiled, and the two wiped away the damp traces at the corners of each other’s eyes.

They were omegas. To each other, the other half was an existence they were extremely dependent on. Omegas could hardly stay away from alphas for too long, let alone omegas in an OO relationship.

Lin Ke kissed Lin Bingran back wildly, seizing her pheromones, the tips of her teeth lingering near Lin Bingran’s gland.

Lin Bingran’s gland itched in waves from Lin Ke’s breath. She clenched her teeth. Omegas had an instinctive fearful rejection toward being marked, but in her heart, she both anticipated it and feared it. Her back arched slightly as she anxiously waited for Lin Ke’s sudden bite.

After a long while, Lin Ke’s kisses still lingered nearby. Lin Bingran could no longer bear it. She flipped Lin Ke over and bit down.

Lin Ke instinctively arched her body, her upper body like a drawn bowstring, as if it might snap at any moment.

But Lin Bingran only nibbled lightly, scratching an itch without ever hitting the crucial spot.

Lin Ke looked back with tears in her eyes. “Are you trying to make me suffocate?”

Lin Bingran rubbed against her temple. “I’m suffering too.”

Lin Ke prepared to press over her, helplessly and habitually accepting it. “Teacher Lin, why are you always like this…”

Lin Bingran pressed tightly against Lin Ke, held down her shoulder, and with her other hand pierced through her. Almost immediately, it drew a reaction from Lin Ke.

Lin Ke: “Uh.”

Lin Bingran exhaled roughly. “I’m always like what? Like this? Or like this?”

“Too light? Too heavy?”

“Why aren’t you talking?”

Lin Bingran said it wickedly, and she had even somehow learned a few suggestive words. When she murmured them by Lin Ke’s ear, sometimes deep and sometimes shallow, Lin Ke was like a lone boat completely overturned in the sea. When lifted up, there was no need to shake her; water poured down in streams.

In the end, Lin Bingran said, “Cry if you want to.”

Lin Ke bit the corner of the quilt and cried to her heart’s content.

They fooled around until morning. Lu Tu and Guo Rongrong were very tactful and neither came to disturb them.

Lin Bingran and Lin Ke slept deeply tangled together. Lin Bingran also had a habit: when she did not sleep steadily, she liked to turn over, and when she turned over, she would make soft little humming sounds like she was stretching.

She would hum a few times, then fall asleep again. After two hours, she would half-wake with a few more hums, then hum herself back to sleep.

Lin Ke was occasionally woken by her humming and would take the initiative to hold Lin Bingran. Both of them greatly enjoyed the feeling of skin pressed against skin.

Smelling each other’s pheromones, merely lying together gave them a comfortable, tingling sensation throughout their bodies, as if they could sleep like this forever, peaceful and at ease.

In the morning, rain began falling outside the window. Winter rain was cold enough to chill the bones, yet the room was so warm that it made people lazy, unwilling to lift even a finger.

Below the hotel, faint voices rustled.

Lin Bingran turned over and woke herself up. When she opened her eyes and saw Lin Ke, she leaned over to kiss her without thinking.

Lin Ke sleepily kissed her back. Halfway through the kiss, Lin Bingran fell asleep again. Lin Ke did not know whether to laugh or cry and continued sleeping.

Throughout their sleep, they woke up several times. Whenever they woke, they could not help kissing and hugging. When their eyelids could no longer stay open, they touched each other and fell asleep again.

It was not until stars hung in the sky that the phones by Lin Ke’s and Lin Bingran’s pillows vibrated nonstop.

Lin Bingran hummed, “Your phone.”

Lin Ke rubbed her eyes. “It’s yours.”

“Go answer it,” Lin Ke said.

With her eyes closed, Lin Bingran felt around until she touched Lin Ke’s nose and mouth. She leaned over and brushed against her. Lin Ke immediately stopped urging her and obediently held Lin Bingran as she closed her eyes to sleep.

After a while, the phones started ringing again. Both of them had no choice but to crawl up and grab the phones by the bed.

“Something wrong?” Lin Bingran did not look at the screen and asked lazily.

Lin Ke cleared her throat, glanced at the screen, and saw an unfamiliar number. She answered, “Hello, who is this?”

Both receivers were silent for a while. Strangely, Lin Bingran and Lin Ke both turned back and looked at each other.

Lin Bingran: “…”

Lin Ke: “…”

The two exchanged phones, held them again, glanced at the screens, and both became a little nervous.

“Mom.”

“Dad.”

“…”

A few minutes later, Lu Tu came to knock on the door. Lin Ke opened it. From behind Lu Tu, Guo Rongrong poked her head out.

“Ran-jie—”

Lin Ke raised her index finger to her lips, signaling that she was still on the phone.

Lu Tu and Guo Rongrong nodded. The two stepped aside, and the makeup artist suddenly jumped out from behind them, carrying a makeup bag and smiling so hard the corners of her eyes folded.

Lin Ke: “…”

Lin Ke quickly left the entryway and went into the room to take the call. Lin Bingran was in the washroom, propping up her phone while washing her face.

“Mm. There was suddenly filming.”

On the other end of the call came a string of fluent English. Lin Bingran replied in Chinese, and the two sides communicated without any barrier. Guo Rongrong heard from the doorway and knew Lin Bingran was talking to her family.

“No,” Lin Bingran said. “We’re not officially together. It isn’t convenient.”

The voice on the other side suddenly rose. “##@%&!”

Guo Rongrong left in confusion and reminded Lin Bingran to come out for makeup after finishing the call.

Lin Bingran did not know whether she heard. She replied to the person on the phone, “Oh. We were sleeping together just now.”

Perhaps because scolding in a non-native language did not feel satisfying, the other side switched languages. “Lin! You’re already twenty-eight! Are you still not planning to settle down? You’re about to be twenty-nine!”

Lin Bingran pinched her fingers and calculated. Her birthday was still two or three months away. By then, it would be the turn of spring and summer, and her agreement with Lin Ke would be ending. Their relationship could take the opportunity to go a step further.

Lin Bingran raised the corners of her lips. “Mm. I’ll settle down before twenty-nine.”

Her parents became happy and began pestering Lin Bingran for photos, trying to ask about Lin Bingran’s other half between the lines.

On the other side, Lin Ke’s head was about to swell as big as an ox. Lin Bingran’s parents had lived abroad for a long time and had absorbed some open-minded international ideas, but Lin Ke’s parents were born and raised in a small place and absolutely would not allow their daughter to mess around outside.

Lin Ke was about to cry. “Dad, Mom, I really, really didn’t mess around!”

Lin Zhen’s voice was as loud as an ox. “Who was the person who answered the phone just now!”

Lin Ke said, “My assistant…”

Lin Zhen said, “Didn’t you just say you were sleeping?! How did it become your assistant?!”

Lin Ke: “…”

“My assistant came to wake me up,” Lin Ke said earnestly. “She saw my phone ringing and helped me answer it.”

“Nonsense!” Lin Zhen said angrily. The family had called Lin Ke before, and Lu Tu had answered several times. It was not the same voice at all. “One listen and I know that wasn’t Xiao Lu! That person’s phone-answering voice didn’t sound honest at all!”

Lin Ke: “Pfft!”

“You still dare laugh!” Lin Zhen flew into a rage.

Mother Lin finally could not help speaking up. “Aiya! Are you annoying or not! Every time you call, you argue! Give me the phone!”

Lin Ke immediately acted spoiled. “Mom!”

Mother Lin coaxed her daughter, calling her baby this and baby that. They chatted about family matters for more than ten minutes. Lin Zhen tried several times to come over and snatch the phone, but Mother Lin drove him away each time.

Lin Ke’s nose stung. She knew her parents only missed her.

Near the end of the call, Lu Tu came to urge Lin Ke to do makeup, and Mother Lin asked about Lin Ke’s love life.

Lin Ke began picking at the table, answering vaguely. “…It’s, you know, the one who often goes on trending searches.”

Mother Lin was excellent at surfing the internet and immediately said, “Oh, that male alpha surnamed Han or something?”

Lin Ke: “…”

The crew was building hype, and the company had paid for some CP press releases about the two of them. As for Lin Bingran, Lin Ke had previously denied the rumors in front of her parents.

Lin Ke: “…”

Lu Tu knocked on the door. “Hurry up.”

Lin Ke wiped her face and said speechlessly, “It’s not him. I’ll tell you later. I have to go do makeup. The crew is having dinner tonight.”

Lin Zhen roared at the phone, “If you can’t explain it clearly, then don’t come home!”

Lin Ke: “…”

Lin Ke hurriedly said, “At the latest, I’ll definitely come back for Dad’s birthday.”

“Dad, Mom, Happy New Year.”

Lin Zhen directly hung up the phone.

Lin Ke: “…”

Lin Bingran was already doing makeup in the living room. The makeup artist looked infatuated, drool nearly dripping onto the floor. She grinned foolishly at Lin Bingran, smiling for ages after each brushstroke. Lin Bingran was not angry either. She closed her eyes and napped lightly, clearly having seen this situation many times. With Lin Bingran acting this way, the makeup artist actually calmed down faster and soon got into work.

But the moment Lin Ke came out, Lin Bingran clung to the chair, turned back, and smiled, raising her eyebrows at Lin Ke.

Pink bubbles immediately seemed to rise around the makeup artist, her face practically saying she had shipped it.

Lin Ke asked, “Done with makeup?”

Lin Bingran said, “No. Sit here.”

Lin Ke smiled and sat down, applying toner and lotion herself.

Guo Rongrong came over. “News that we arrived in Hengdian has already gotten out.”

Lu Tu came over and said, “Keke needs to film a New Year blessing video for fans later. Do you two want to appear together?”

Guo Rongrong said, “I think that works. It’s the New Year. How can you not give a little sugar?”

The makeup artist stomped her feet. “Then should I give you matching makeup? Couple-style. How about it?”

“Make Teacher Lin a little more top, and Teacher Xiao Lin a little more bottom. Wuwuwu, you two in the same frame will definitely be absolutely beautiful!”

Lin Ke secretly laughed. “Okay, okay.”

Lin Bingran, however, was not very happy. “You think I’m more top?”

“Of course!” The makeup artist clearly did not realize the seriousness of the matter. She pinched her fingertips together and gestured. “You’re a little taller!”

Lin Bingran looked displeased. “…”

Lin Ke grabbed the armrests of her chair, holding back laughter. She failed and burst out laughing.

Lin Bingran turned and glared at Lin Ke. “What are you laughing at?”

Lin Ke sucked in her cheeks and shook her head blankly. “Nothing.”

Lin Bingran: “…”

Guo Rongrong covered her mouth and tapped Lu Tu’s shoulder, signaling for them to go to the other side to talk.

Before long, Lu Tu hid by the hotel doorway and let out a loud “hahahaha” laugh.

Lin Ke instantly broke character. “Pfft.”

The makeup artist looked bewildered. She looked at one person, then another. “Did I stand on the wrong side?”

Lin Bingran: “…”
