Chapter 26.1
“…Sister A-Wu, do you know what you’re saying?”
For a moment, Luo Yan thought she had misheard. This was a hospital, not anywhere else; how could she suggest sleeping together so casually… it’s very easy to take that the wrong way.
“You only need to answer: yes or no.” On the hospital bed, the Omega, whose face was still pale, looked at the Alpha before her whose ears had turned inexplicably red, shaking her hand as she asked.
Luo Yan opened her lips but couldn’t answer. She hadn’t expected things to head in such an uncontrollable direction.
Clearly… clearly… a minute ago, the conversation wasn’t like this. How did it suddenly turn into this? It was truly a mystery.
A minute earlier. Xue Wu had hung up on Wang Huina, unaware that Xue Fu was about to make a big move. She had Luo Yan feed her a few more sweet and sour grapes and finished the rest of her IV drip.
Luo Yan saw that it was getting late. Although Xue Wu had slept for many days, she still couldn’t stay up late, so she told Xue Wu to lie down and sleep. She told her to stop tossing her body around and not to think too much about Wang Huina.
Xue Wu knew she cared about her. She suddenly thought about what Chen Jia had told her: for as long as she was in a coma, Luo Yan had stayed by her side. Even when she was busy every day, she still found time to come. Now, looking closely, she seemed to have lost weight from exhaustion, which felt inexplicably heart-wrenching.
“Yanyan, where are you sleeping tonight?” Xue Wu asked after washing up.
“I used to sleep on the sofa, and it’s about the same now. Don’t worry, I won’t leave tonight; I’ll stay with you,” Luo Yan said to her.
“Have you been sleeping on the sofa for the past half month?” Even though Xue Wu knew Alphas were usually thick-skinned and tough, Luo Yan was still a female Alpha and needed careful nurturing.
She saw that the baby fat on her face was gone and couldn’t help pinching her cheek: “You’re so thin now, you’re not cute anymore.”
“…Is Sister A-Wu looking down on me now?”
“Yes, so shouldn’t you hurry up and get fat again?”
“Ahem, don’t you think I feel more secure like this?”
After all, having baby fat on one’s face looks very youthful and gives off an unreliable vibe; she didn’t want that.
Since she had decided to be with Xue Wu, she naturally hoped to give her more security. She also had to learn to grow so the plot in the book wouldn’t unfold as written.
However, looking at the current situation, the plot seems to have gradually gone off track, which also surprised Luo Yan.
Not only is she not dead now, she is living quite well. The mother and daughter at home haven’t made any trouble lately, and everything is proceeding smoothly.
Moreover, she is actually with the big villain, temporarily free from life-threatening worries. Furthermore… she can now probably guess which part of the big villain’s memory is missing. She actually remembers most of her memories, but she misunderstood their relationship, thinking they were truly an engaged AO couple and that she rejected her only because she was tired of her and treated her as a substitute.
But now it’s explained clearly. As for when the big villain will remember everything… she couldn’t say for sure.
In short, things are quite perfect for now.
“Why do you need to feel more secure? Do you think I’m old, and if you don’t become more mature, we won’t match?”
The big villain seemed to truly care about the age issue. Hearing Luo Yan say this made her a bit unhappy, and she pouted slightly as she spoke.
“What are you thinking? How is that possible?”
This was the several-th time Luo Yan had heard her care about her age. Clearly, twenty-five is not old at all. Omegas, with their genetic advantage, have a very long “freshness” period. Even though Xue Wu is twenty-five and a few years older than her, if the big villain doesn’t deliberately release her pressure, she looks about the same age as Luo Yan; there’s no issue of maturity at all.
So, the big villain was truly overthinking.
Not to mention that her personality had changed drastically since the amnesia; she felt like a fun-loving little Omega about her own age.
“In my heart, A-Wu is always young and always beautiful.” Luo Yan was not stingy with her praise. Her gaze was very sincere, and her words were heartfelt, which somehow made Xue Wu’s face turn slightly red. She felt this little Alpha was truly quite charming.
If she really had a bunch of ex-girlfriends before, with her charm, it didn’t seem strange at all.
“Alright, it’s getting late. Lie down and sleep.” Luo Yan’s attitude grew slightly firm, completely different from her previous secretive and timid demeanor.
Before transmigrating, she had lived a very unrestrained life, much like the profession she studied—radiant and dazzling. She had only restrained herself after transmigrating.
Now, her true nature was gradually returning, and her words were beyond doubt.
The conversation was normal up to this point, until—
The big villain indeed obeyed her and lay down obediently, tucked into the quilt with only her eyes showing, staring at Luo Yan without blinking, as if she couldn’t look away.
Luo Yan turned back to organize her things and, seeing her still staring, was puzzled: “What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?”
“No, I just feel like there’s something different about you.”
“Different how?”
“I can’t put it into words, but Yanyan seems to have become better. My heart always thumps when I look at you.”
Luo Yan’s brow jumped. Hearing this overly direct sentence made her heart very surprised. Did she know that what she just said was basically a confession?
She couldn’t resist approaching her again, covering her eyes with her hand, and kissing her. Xue Wu was confused, her eyelashes blinking against her palm, making Luo Yan even more distracted.
Luo Yan didn’t know if Alphas had a dependency period after marking an Omega, but she felt she had one now. She didn’t want to leave her for a moment, even hoping… that these days would never end.
“Goodnight, my rose.” She kissed her cheek very restrainingly and whispered this into her ear, causing Xue Wu’s earlobe to turn red quietly.
She couldn’t resist reaching out and pinching it, remarking: “So soft.”
Xue Wu: “…” Was she being flirted with?
Luo Yan later did a simple wash-up in the bathroom and came out. It was late summer now, and the weather wasn’t so hot, so when she came out, she was wearing a black tank top and black shorts. Her hair was still a bit damp, looking very lazy.
She was tall, nearly 1.8 meters, standing out even among female Alphas. Walking out of the bathroom while drying her hair with a towel, her physical tension almost overflowed.
Xue Wu recalled never having seen such a casual Luo Yan. She was also beautiful like this, possessing a wildness not seen normally, which inexplicably caught one’s gaze and made it hard to look away.
It was truly beautiful.
“Sister A-Wu, why aren’t you asleep yet?” Luo Yan’s mind was still planning for tomorrow, and she was absentmindedly drying her hair. She turned to see if Xue Wu had fallen asleep, but she didn’t expect to see the big villain staring at her with bright eyes.
Luo Yan: “…”
Like this, she looked even more like a cat staring from the dark, which was quite startling.
“Yanyan is beautiful, I can’t bear to sleep.”
See, even her words were that direct.
Luo Yan wasn’t used to her being this direct. She sighed, her face also quietly turning red. “This beautiful Alpha is already yours; there will be plenty of time to look later.”
She froze after saying that, feeling she had also become bold and shouldn’t have.
“But the Yanyan now is the Yanyan of this moment. If I don’t look more now, I won’t see this again the next time I want to.” Xue Wu spoke to her quite seriously.
Luo Yan couldn’t help but laugh: “So, is this ‘a person cannot step into the same river twice’?” (Note: Heraclitus)
“It’s exactly like that. Yanyan’s beauty is different at every moment. If I don’t look more, it’ll be gone.”
Luo Yan was truly at a loss due to her constant directness, especially since her words were so sincere and her eyes seemed to hold stars.
It was clear she truly liked her, and Luo Yan had never seen such a direct expression of emotion.
At least, she hadn’t seen it before her amnesia. it could greatly satisfy an Alpha’s vanity.
Although Luo Yan was a “part-time” Alpha, she was gradually adapting to the traits unique to Alphas, and her mindset had shifted slightly. Especially after marking Xue Wu, she was considered a true Alpha.
Being looked at so admiringly by the person she liked, it was impossible for her to feel nothing.
But she also knew she couldn’t be too narcissistic. She slightly restrained her joyful mood, but the corners of her lips still tilted up. “Sister A-Wu is just as beautiful.”
Xue Wu was amused by her and beckoned for her to come over.
Luo Yan obeyed and approached, and her hand was held. Xue Wu shook it gently, as if acting spoiled: “Sleep with me tonight, okay?”
—Yes, this is where things inexplicably went wrong. Clearly, the previous conversation had it settled: she would stay here to accompany her because she was afraid of something happening. While she was there, no major incidents occurred, but on the nights she was absent, the incident of her being harmed for no reason took place. She couldn’t let that happen again.
Fortunately, the matter with that Omega tonight was handled quite well, otherwise, it wouldn’t have ended like this.
“What’s wrong, Yanyan, are you unwilling?” Seeing she didn’t answer, Xue Wu held her hand and blinked while acting spoiled: “I promise to be good and do nothing, just hug you while I sleep.”
Clearly, when she said “sleep with her,” she didn’t mean in the same room, but in the hospital bed with her. Although they were both girls and there weren’t many taboos, Alphas and Omegas were naturally different. Xue Wu was trying to break the original boundaries between them and take a step further.
