After She Fell for Me, I Lost My Memory (GL) - Chapter 44
Close to two o’clock in the afternoon, Cen Luo received a call from Qin Ran saying they had arrived and asking her to come downstairs.
Coming downstairs, Cen Luo saw the two of them leaning against the car doors, talking about something from a distance.
They looked a little like they were arguing.
Xu Fengwan saw Cen Luo walking toward them first. She straightened her body, which was leaning against the car, and said to Qin Ran, “I’m too lazy to argue with you.”
“We were just having a friendly discussion. How can you call that arguing?”
Qin Ran replied dismissively. She then guessed that Cen Luo must be downstairs and looked toward the apartment direction, seeing Cen Luo walking toward them.
“Are you two fighting again?” Cen Luo asked helplessly.
“Just a friendly discussion, how can it be called fighting?” Qin Ran opened the car door, preparing to get in.
Seeing Xu Fengwan still standing next to the passenger seat, Qin Ran said impatiently to Xu Fengwan, “You go in the back.”
“Bad luck.”
Xu Fengwan, who was about to open the car door for Cen Luo, paused at these words. Then she calmly tucked her hair behind her ears and said to Cen Luo, “Xiao Luo, I’m sorry.”
Before Cen Luo could react, she saw Xu Fengwan open the passenger car door and sit inside.
Through the open car window, she saw Xu Fengwan sitting properly, with both sides of her hair tucked behind her ears. She winked at Qin Ran: “I’m going to sit here. If you feel bad luck, I’ll be happy.”
Cen Luo and Qin Ran: “?”
Cen Luo silently opened the back door, questioning in her heart: Who is actually sixteen years old?
Xu Fengwan might not even be sixteen.
Qin Ran was speechless for a moment, then looked at Cen Luo in the back seat and asked, “How about we both kick her out?”
Xu Fengwan: “…”
Similar incidents had happened before.
Before Cen Luo could reply, she heard Xu Fengwan’s voice: “Too late. I’ve already fastened my seatbelt.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a crisp click sound rang out in the car.
Cen Luo chuckled at Xu Fengwan’s behavior. Why hadn’t she noticed Xu Fengwan was so childish before?
But they had met in junior high school, so she wouldn’t have been able to tell if she was childish or not.
It was also rare for Qin Ran to be able to tease Xu Fengwan so childishly.
For some reason, Cen Luo felt that Qin Ran and Xu Fengwan were quite a match.
Suddenly, Cen Luo felt the urge to play matchmaker. She decided that when she had time, she would sound them out properly to see if they had any feelings for each other.
Interactions between familiar people should be easier.
Familiar people…
Thinking of this, Cen Luo thought of Xu Yanyan. She should also be considered a familiar person, right? After all, they had known each other since high school.
“What are you smiling about, Xiao Luo?”
Qin Ran was driving and saw Cen Luo’s expression in the rearview mirror. She couldn’t help but ask.
What was she thinking? That smile was too sweet.
Cen Luo snapped back and smiled, shaking her head: “I’m excited about going to ST.”
Cen Luo’s memory was stuck at sixteen years old, an age when she was dreaming of going to ST Bar after becoming an adult. So, Qin Ran didn’t find anything wrong with her answer.
Just as she was about to speak, Qin Ran’s gaze stopped at a retail store not far away.
Did she just see Jian Mu?
Did she see wrong?
She couldn’t see clearly, and she wasn’t sure if it was her.
Qin Ran opened her mouth to remind Cen Luo, but then remembered Cen Luo saying everything was settled and Jian Mu had promised not to bother her anymore. She ultimately kept quiet.
It was all in the past.
Cen Luo clearly didn’t want to mention Jian Mu anymore.
Qin Ran could vaguely understand Cen Luo. If one day, someone suddenly told her: You pursued someone for seven years, and you were together for three years. During that time, you did everything you could, being unconditionally good to her, but that person remained cold and indifferent to you.
Qin Ran thought she wouldn’t like her former self either.
She remembered what Cen Luo said before her birthday—that Jian Mu had saved her.
Qin Ran didn’t quite understand. What kind of salvation was worth ten years of repayment?
Selfishly, Qin Ran hadn’t told Cen Luo about this.
Cen Luo probably hadn’t told anyone else either. If that was the case, then let this secret remain buried forever.
Because she knew that if she brought it up, given Cen Luo’s curiosity, she might investigate the matter thoroughly.
For everyone’s sake, let the past be.
Jian Mu wasn’t cold and indifferent before, right? This should have been what she wanted. Why bother a person with amnesia just because she wasn’t used to it?
Letting each other go is better than mutual torment.
Fortunately, both of them had come to an understanding. Bringing up Jian Mu again now would be inappropriate.
So Qin Ran didn’t ask.
The group first went to a hair salon. Cen Luo dyed her hair smog blue, as she had wanted.
Qin Ran also got a hair treatment done. Only Xu Fengwan sat on the sofa watching them.
“What’s wrong with green? Do you look down on green?” Qin Ran asked Xu Fengwan, looking through the mirror.
Xu Fengwan rolled her eyes: “Who would like green?”
Cen Luo and Qin Ran both looked at the salon owner, who was sitting nearby.
He had bright green hair, which was very eye-catching.
Hearing this, the salon owner was displeased. He immediately put down his phone and started discussing with Xu Fengwan how popular green was recently and how many celebrities had dyed their hair this color.
His tone and expression seemed to say: You’re too old-fashioned and don’t understand fashion.
Xu Fengwan thought about it and did remember that green was quite popular recently.
Under the double attack, Xu Fengwan dyed her hair dark green, with blue highlights in the middle.
The result was very good.
“You look several years younger than before,” Qin Ran said, looking around Xu Fengwan for a while and complimenting her.
Complimented by Qin Ran, Xu Fengwan became a little smug. She even asked Cen Luo, “How do I look? Am I pretty?”
She looked like a child asking her parents for praise after getting good grades.
Cen Luo was admiring her own beauty. She glanced at Xu Fengwan when she heard the question and nodded: “Beautiful.”
After receiving Cen Luo’s affirmation, Xu Fengwan smiled contentedly.
It was worth it.
“Let’s go, let’s go.” Qin Ran hurried the two of them into the car after paying.
As dusk was setting in, the sign for ST Bar lit up, looking very dazzling from afar.
Cen Luo and the others got out of the car and entered the bar.
Not far away was a barbecue restaurant, noisy and chaotic, filled with the aroma of roasting meat.
“Vice CEO Su, why aren’t you eating?” Yang Qing saw Su Nian staring out the window, looking lost in thought, and asked curiously.
Su Nian looked away and murmured, “I think I saw someone.”
Yang Qing followed her gaze. There were too many people on the street. She didn’t know who she was looking at.
“Seeing someone is normal. The street is full of people. It would be terrifying if you didn’t see anyone.”
Another voice suddenly rang out.
“That joke is so stale.”
Another person said.
Jianyi Technology was quite humane. They even had special benefits for single employees on New Year’s Eve.
“But Vice CEO Su, does CEO Jian have a girlfriend? Why isn’t she coming to the dinner?”
The person speaking was a new intern this year. Since she was new, she didn’t know the situation and just asked out of curiosity.
As soon as she finished speaking, Yang Qing frowned: “CEO Jian never really liked group dinners.”
“Oh, oh.” Fang Yu nodded, knowing she had crossed the line with her question, and lowered her head.
“It’s okay. Talk about whatever you want to talk about,” Su Nian glanced at Fang Yu, then looked out the window again, unsure if she had seen incorrectly.
After saying that, she took out her phone and sent Jian Mu a message.
[I think I ran into someone.]
Jian Mu received Su Nian’s message just as she arrived home. She was getting the key out of her bag when she saw the message. Judging by Su Nian’s tone, she thought it was a business partner, so she stopped what she was doing and replied to Su Nian.
[Who?]
As soon as she replied, she heard Zhang Ming’s voice next to her ear:
“What a coincidence, Xiao Jian. Did you just get back too?”
Jian Mu put her phone away and looked at Zhang Ming, politely calling out, “Hello, Auntie Zhang.”
“Aiya, you really are the most well-behaved child I’ve ever met. You greet me every time we meet. Auntie Zhang is getting embarrassed.”
The most well-behaved… child…
Jian Mu repeated these words in her mind. A twenty-six-year-old big child should be fine, right?
But based on her experience, when someone starts complimenting the other person for no reason, they usually have a favor to ask or something to say.
Jian Mu didn’t want to think of Zhang Ming that way, but Zhang Ming’s hand was clenching her clothes, and her face was a little unnatural.
Based on the lessons she had taken these two days, Zhang Ming was likely seeking help.
“Is something wrong, Auntie Zhang?” Jian Mu asked first.
Since Jian Mu asked, Zhang Ming stammered it out: “Well, here’s the thing. I have a son who wants to buy an apartment in Nanyang Yulou. I heard you have a house there, so I was hoping you could go with me to take a look.”
Heard she had a house in Nanyang Yulou?
Heard from whom?
“Heard from whom?”
As soon as Jian Mu spoke, Zhang Ming instinctively covered her mouth.
She remembered Cen Luo telling her not to say that she was the one who said it.
“No. I just thought you look rich, and don’t rich people have houses there?”
After saying that, Zhang Ming sighed in relief. This reason was perfect, right? She shouldn’t be suspicious.
In fact, Cen Luo hadn’t explicitly told her that Jian Mu had a house in Nanyang Yulou yesterday. She just said the neighbor looked rich and probably had a house there.
Zhang Ming thought about Cen Luo’s attitude last night. Cen Luo had been explaining to her for the past few days that she didn’t live there anymore. She thought Cen Luo wasn’t lying to her. Apartments in Nanyang Yulou usually weren’t rented out. Perhaps she had sold the apartment?
“Did Cen Luo say that?” Jian Mu ignored her explanation and guessed directly.
“Ah… no, no.” Zhang Ming remembered Cen Luo saying yesterday that her relationship with the neighbor wasn’t very good and asked her not to say it was her.
Jian Mu hummed. She took the key out of her bag.
Zhang Ming was waiting for her answer, but there was no follow-up.
After a while, Jian Mu opened the door and then said: “If she said it, I have no reason to refuse.”
“Yes, yes, yes,” Zhang Ming gave Cen Luo up without thinking. “Xiao Luo only said you might have a house there, so she told me to come find you.”
Zhang Ming didn’t mention the part about their bad relationship, worried that saying it would make their relationship even worse.
And Cen Luo hadn’t expected that the idea she came up with because she was annoyed would be betrayed by Zhang Ming, despite her repeated warnings.
Jian Mu paused her step, and the corner of her mouth slightly lifted. She said to Zhang Ming, “Then set a time. Just call me.”
This complete change in attitude surprised Zhang Ming.
But overall, the result was good.
However, Cen Luo said her relationship with Jian Mu wasn’t good? Why did it feel like their relationship was quite good?
Jian Mu agreed as soon as she heard it was Cen Luo who said it.
As Zhang Ming was about to return to her apartment, she heard Jian Mu ask: “Why isn’t she going?”
Zhang Ming knew Jian Mu was asking about Cen Luo. She had pretty much said everything else she could, so she answered truthfully: “Xiao Luo said she doesn’t live there anymore and can’t get in.”
Can’t get in?
Why wouldn’t the owner be able to get in?
Jian Mu returned to her room. Only then did she remember Su Nian’s message. She reopened her phone and saw her messages.
[Cen Luo seems to have gone into ST Bar.]
[Why aren’t you replying to me? Aren’t you curious?]
[I heard there are tons of beauties there.]
[?]
A series of question marks followed from Su Nian.
Jian Mu’s phone had been on 24/7 lately. Compared to before, she spent much more time replying to messages.
ST Bar.
Jian Mu muttered the words softly, then left the house again.
