I’m Definitely Taking This Scumbag Alpha Role! - Chapter 8
Why had she suddenly come back to herself because Wei Zhixu called out to her?
Clearly, she should have killed that Alpha named Fang Yiyi.
If anyone was to blame, it was Wei Zhixu’s eyes for being too bright.
Verdant jade was more beautiful than any jewel in the world, and there was no way you could dig it out.
Because you knew that only when it was nourished by a living person would it remain beautiful forever.
She was clearly such a cold and distant person, yet she had such beautiful eyes.
Ying Que followed the light and looked over, and there, reflected in Wei Zhixu’s pupils, she saw fear-filled concern.
Wei Zhixu was worried because of her.
Wei Zhixu had revealed such an expression because of her.
Wei Zhixu cared about her.
Ying Que felt joy because of that, and the knife in her hand suddenly stopped.
Unseen, the grapevines twined with mountain grapes slowly dispersed, leaving only an invisible sourness in the air.
In those few stagnant seconds, Wei Zhixu’s hand slipped in. “It’s all right now. You’re safe.”
This was the second time Ying Que had heard Wei Zhixu say this to her.
In truth, she did not want to let go of this damned Alpha in front of her. But Wei Zhixu had reached out.
She pried open Ying Que’s hand, which was clenched tightly around the box cutter, and squeezed into her palm little by little.
This person’s cold fingers had gained a bit of warmth from the sun outside. Pressed against Ying Que’s palm, they felt warm and cool at once, making a person feel that the present world was worth living in, and that even the painful memories of the past were nothing much after all.
Ying Que thought she could give Wei Zhixu some face.
“Professor Wei…”
Sensing that she had been saved, Fang Yiyi’s voice trembled as she looked toward Wei Zhixu.
But she had made the wrong calculation and misjudged the situation.
Wei Zhixu could not possibly stand on her side.
Her gaze swept across the changing room, taking in the Alpha hiding in the corner and the Alpha lying on the ground.
The door that had been forced open from the inside hung broken on the locker, on the verge of collapse. The iron chain wrapped around the lock handle was full of guilt, and at a glance, it looked thicker than her finger.
And Ying Que’s arm was bleeding.
Long red lines gathered into scarlet drops of blood, falling to the floor with plop after plop, sharp and glaring.
Wei Zhixu’s gaze darkened inch by inch, frighteningly cold. “Not one of you three should think of escaping responsibility for this. I will take responsibility for Student Wu Lan to the very end.”
Her stance was far too obvious. The triplets’ expressions looked worse one after another.
Wei Zhixu was a professor at the school, and she carried a reputation they could not afford to offend.
Fang Yiyi was stunned senseless. She still wanted to argue, but the next moment, she was completely cut off by a low growl.
“Pro—”
“Get out.”
Ying Que braced one hand against the wall. Her eyes were blocked by her falling long hair, so no one saw her dazed expression. Not even the sun could illuminate it clearly. Others would only feel that this Alpha’s aura towered like a storm, making her impossible to provoke.
Perhaps “fleeing” was what the triplets had wanted to do since earlier.
The moment Ying Que’s order of expulsion fell, the three of them subconsciously turned and ran, so panicked they did not dare look back.
In Ying Que’s other hand, she was clutching the box cutter and Wei Zhixu’s hand.
The mountain-grape scent Wei Zhixu had smelled at the doorway earlier surfaced once again, and Wei Zhixu felt a very, very faint tremor come from the fingertips in her grasp.
“Queque.” Wei Zhixu realized something and looked toward Ying Que.
That hand braced against the wall seemed to have reached the end of its strength. After hearing the familiar call, it completely relaxed. Her thin, tall figure swayed in the sunlight, like a high-rise on the verge of collapse.
“Sister, I feel like something’s wrong with me.”
Ying Que’s voice was muffled. She exhaled heavily, and the heat was wrapped in an even stronger mountain-grape scent. As she lifted her head to look at Wei Zhixu, it rushed toward this Omega too.
Wei Zhixu was caught off guard by it and immediately understood. “Your sensitive period has started.”
“Is that so?” Ying Que was lost in a fog. Her mind had not been clear since she had been locked in the locker, and nightmares still lingered there. “I thought I was about to die.”
“How could you die that easily?” Wei Zhixu brushed a hand over Ying Que’s face, denying her wild thoughts.
Because of her gland issue, Wei Zhixu was not easily affected by Alpha pheromones. Her voice remained calm as she looked toward Ying Que’s locker. “Do you have an inhibitor in your locker?”
Ying Que did not know. She lingered against Wei Zhixu’s palm, her expression entranced.
This person touched her so casually, yet so gently, making Ying Que want to answer every one of Wei Zhixu’s questions properly even while dazed and muddled.
“…Probably. Every Alpha should have that habit.”
“All right. I’ll look for it.”
Time was urgent. Wei Zhixu had to control Ying Que’s pheromones so they would not leak into the corridor.
She quickly turned and walked toward the locker, withdrawing her hand decisively.
And so, the familiar bit of warmth and coolness against Ying Que’s cheek and palm disappeared as well.
The grapevine lost the place where it had been anchored, its tendrils suspended in the air, empty as they probed and reached.
Ying Que felt as though something was burning her soul. Even her bones were so hot they ached.
She missed the hand Wei Zhixu had just squeezed in. She could not wait for that vague, uncertain inhibitor.
“Sister…”
She felt so wronged.
The lesson had not been enough. Most likely, this person’s rotten nature had never been removed either.
The system’s scumbag Alpha label was short for “human-scum Alpha.” This type of Alpha would usually use every possible method to obtain the Omega they liked.
And not far away, standing beside that battered iron door, was the Omega this scumbag Alpha had coveted for a long time.
Ying Que had not given Wei Zhixu the exact location of the inhibitor, so Wei Zhixu’s search progressed slowly.
Just as she bent down to pull open the innermost drawer of the locker, a shadow suddenly leaned over from behind her, enveloping her completely.
Mountain grapes were tiny and hairless, and when unripe, they always carried a faint bitterness.
Ying Que’s hands were thin, long, and burning hot, just like her breath. With a powerful aggressiveness, they came from behind, moving forward to wrap around Wei Zhixu’s waist.
“Sister, you just said you would take responsibility for me to the very end. If you can’t find the inhibitor, how are you going to take responsibility for me?”
