Chapter 27

Perhaps it was the innate persistence of an Alpha, or perhaps it was because she had been teased by the Omega time and again, but Ming Ruixue’s voice carried a hint of suggestive edge as she spoke. As for whether she was telling the truth, the Omega didn’t dare to test her further.

Si Xia was slightly annoyed, her skin flushing even redder than before.

At least, that’s what Ming Ruixue thought. Who knew that Si Xia’s boldness in front of the camera would exceed her imagination?

A thin quilt covered them from the waist down. In their face-to-face position, Si Xia’s hand, which had originally been resting on Ming Ruixue’s waist, gradually slid downward with an attitude of refusing to give up until her goal was reached.

“Sister, I want to verify if what you said is true,” Si Xia’s soft hand moved down along the gap between their legs.

Ming Ruixue trembled all over. She frowned and looked at Si Xia. “Behave yourself. If you really want to play, I’ll play with you in private.”

Ming Ruixue was truly angry. To ignore the script during work hours and put all her effort into challenging her bottom line just to see her make a fool of herself—it was too much.

Si Xia’s wrist was pinned down beneath the quilt; no matter how she struggled, she couldn’t escape. She was almost on the verge of tears. “Let me go, it hurts.”

Ming Ruixue released her at the right moment. “If I really wanted to deal with you, you wouldn’t be able to run.”

Si Xia’s arrogance flickered out. She stopped pushing her luck, deciding to finish filming the advertisement first.

Ming Ruixue untied the necktie from her waist. “Stop messing around.”

An Omega’s strength is weak; no matter how much she acted up, she would be suppressed by the Alpha. Si Xia wouldn’t have a single chance to resist.

With reddened eyes, Si Xia nodded. “I know. Don’t… don’t bind me.”

As soon as the Omega cried, Ming Ruixue lost her edge. Her originally icy expression softened, and she became somewhat flustered. In front of so many staff members, people might think she was bullying Si Xia.

Ming Ruixue said helplessly, “Fine, fine, fine. I’ll listen to you. Just don’t cry.”

Just as she said that, a single tear fell from Si Xia’s eye, followed by more.

Ming Ruixue wanted to call for a cut, but to her surprise, the director off-camera was praising them: “This part where the Alpha gets up for work and the Omega is reluctant to let go is played brilliantly! Keep it up!”

Ming Ruixue: “?”

She looked down at Si Xia beside her. Even when Si Xia cried, she looked beautiful. Looking up at Ming, Si Xia recited the lines from the script: “Sister, can you not go to work today? Stay home with me, okay?”

Her voice was full of coquettishness and a heavy sense of acting spoiled.

Si Xia didn’t usually speak like this, so she really was following the script.

Ming Ruixue: “…” She really couldn’t outplay her.

Following the script, Ming Ruixue turned her back to Si Xia, picked out a white shirt from the wardrobe and put it on. Her voice sounded somewhat helpless: “Babe, if I don’t work, how can I support you?”

The word “Babe” was pronounced with a lingering, melodious affection.

Si Xia froze slightly, her eardrums feeling a tingle of numbness. It turned out Ming Ruixue’s voice was so pleasant to the ear; it almost made her forget her lines.

Seeing her dazed expression, Ming Ruixue bent over and leaned in, her hands reaching past Si Xia’s waist.

As those exquisite features suddenly enlarged before her, Si Xia’s eyes widened. Her hands pressed back against the bed surface, only to realize she had pressed down onto the back of Ming Ruixue’s hand.

Palm to hand-back.

Si Xia’s heart skipped a beat. Ming Ruixue then placed a kiss on her forehead. “I’m heading out.”

This was a total foul.

Even knowing it was a line from the script, Si Xia still dazed for a moment before remembering to grab the necktie and loop it around Ming Ruixue’s neck.

One loop, one pull. Si Xia had just learned the tying technique before filming and was very unpracticed. In the final tightening motion, she nearly strangled Ming Ruixue.

Ming Ruixue endured it all, maintaining a sweet expression for the camera. Si Xia kept her eyes lowered, her warm cheek brushing against Ming’s as her hands circled Ming’s neck to straighten her collar.

The milk-scented pheromones and the catnip pheromones became entangled with one another.

For the final touch, Si Xia gripped the tie and gave it a forceful tug.

Their breaths were audible, their faces inches apart.

The scene was shot in one take. Both performed exceptionally well, and the director yelled “Cut” with great satisfaction.

The popularity of “The Law of Romantic Attraction” continued to climb. As the filming progressed past the halfway point, Director Ye notified the guests and their partners to gather for a dinner on the fourteenth floor.

Dinner inevitably involved drinking. Si Xia nervously tugged at the necktie with her head turned; Ming Ruixue was pulled into a stumble by the unexpected move, making their already close distance even closer.

Ming Ruixue moved her face away just in time, her lips brushing past Si Xia’s ear, collarbone pressing against collarbone.

Ming Ruixue leaned down and whispered to Si Xia, “You’re about to strangle me.”

Si Xia quickly let go. “Sorry.”

Ming Ruixue loosened her tie, reasonably suspecting that Si Xia was taking revenge. The moment the director called “cut,” she had looked like she wanted nothing more than to strangle Ming to death. Did she hate her that much?

The fourteenth floor of the cruise ship offered a variety of restaurant options. The production team was generous enough to hire a national banquet chef to personally oversee the kitchen; the dishes produced were excellent in color, aroma, and taste.

The six guests had been eating nothing but food they made themselves for the past few days. Now that they were eating such delicacies, their eyes lit up.

Director Ye said, “I’ll give you a few days off to rest. All cameras on the ship are turned off. Enjoy yourselves tonight.”

“It’s more comfortable without cameras,” Ban Yun said, pouring everyone a glass of wine. “Let’s toast to Director Ye.”

Everyone agreed and raised their glasses. Si Xia originally wanted to sneak by with plain water, but Bei Chuanchuan saw her and walked over with a smile, swapping it for champagne. “Teacher Si Xia, have just a little.”

Ming Ruixue looked at Si Xia. “Can’t you drink?”

Si Xia didn’t want to answer. In such a situation, it would be awkward not to drink. But if she did, she would have to leave early, and she didn’t want to ruin the mood.

” I can drink a little.” Si Xia raised the champagne, clinked glasses with everyone, and took a sip.

Only after swallowing did she realize something was wrong. What Bei Chuanchuan had poured wasn’t just champagne, but champagne spiked with strong spirits.

The burning sensation rolled down her throat; it was too late for Si Xia to spit it out.

Ming Ruixue noticed something was wrong. After half a glass of champagne, Si Xia’s neck had turned red. Even strong liquor was only so much.

Ming Ruixue caught a whiff of the scent from the glass and immediately frowned. “This isn’t champagne. Bei Chuanchuan, did you take the wrong bottle?”

Bei Chuanchuan was topping up everyone’s drinks. She circled back and feigned shock. “I’m so sorry, Teacher Si Xia. I was so busy I poured the wrong thing. You won’t blame me, will you?”

Si Xia was dizzy and her whole body was heating up. Strong alcohol entering the stomach was even scarier than an Omega’s heat period.

Seeing this, Director Ye hurriedly asked, “Si Xia, are you okay?”

Bei Chuanchuan was fussing around helpfully, so Si Xia found it hard to criticize her.

Ming Ruixue put an arm around Si Xia’s shoulder to steady her. “Why are you so hot? Are you feeling unwell?”

“I’m fine…” Si Xia broke away from Ming Ruixue’s support and apologized to the group. “Sorry, I’ll head back to my cabin first. You guys go ahead and eat.”

After saying that, she stumbled out, accidentally bumping into the door.

Ming Ruixue couldn’t stop worrying and followed her. “Director Ye, I’m going to go check on her.”

She chased her all the way to the cabin. Si Xia slammed the door shut, locking Ming Ruixue outside.

Ming Ruixue was met with a closed door. “Si Xia, are you sick?”

She knocked several times but received no response. When she knocked again, there was no sound at all from inside.

Meanwhile, Bei Chuanchuan took a few sips of wine and, in the restroom, transformed into a spider, crawling into Si Xia’s room through the gap under the door.
