After the Scum Alpha Picked Up Her Rival Omega - Chapter 13
Struggling to maintain her composure, Si Xia carefully checked her makeup before thanking Ming Ruixue in a raised voice, “Thank you, Teacher Ming.”
She was refusing to play into the CP (Couple Pairing) hype with Ming Ruixue.
Bypassing Ming Ruixue, Si Xia intended to greet the other guests, but the scene she witnessed was like this:
Fu Anzhi was stuck to Xia Qing’s side, coaxing her with food and drinks, complete with shoulder-rubbing and leg-massaging services.
Ban Yun had produced a ten-carat diamond ring to slip onto Ning Yu’s hand, refusing to give up even after being rejected.
The guests were working so hard for the sake of trending.
Si Xia blinked. Had everyone already found their respective teams? Or was she so late that she missed the selection segment?
Ming Ruixue stood beside Si Xia and explained, “Fu Anzhi and Xia Qing are the ‘Breakup CP,’ Ban Yun and Ning Yu are the ‘Arranged Marriage CP,’ and we… are the ‘Rival CP.'”
Everything was laid out clearly. Si Xia fell silent.
No matter which pair you looked at, they all seemed more “shippable” than a Rival CP. Si Xia was utterly speechless.
After shaking off Ban Yun, Ning Yu walked over to Ming Ruixue and asked, “Teacher Ming, there’s a team-building game later. If possible, would you consider teaming up with me?”
Ming Ruixue didn’t really want to talk to Ning Yu, because a voice from behind reminded her: “We are plants from the same root; why be in such a hurry to cook each other?”
She turned around to see the plant-type Alpha, Ban Yun, looking at her with “kindness.”
On the other side, Xia Qing was chatting up Si Xia: “Si Xia, both of our names have the character for ‘Summer’ (Xia) in them. We’re quite a match. You can consider me if we’re teaming up.”
Si Xia didn’t want to speak, because a voice from behind reminded her: “Cats and dogs will become natural enemies.”
She turned around to see the canine-type Omega, Fu Anzhi, looking at her with “kindness.”
This wasn’t just Ming Ruixue’s “crematorium” (field of social slaughter); it was a shared crematorium for both Ming Ruixue and Si Xia!
It really was going to be difficult for the Rival CP to survive in the cracks, grab screen time, and manufacture hype.
Once the six guests had finished boarding, the cruise ship officially set sail.
The program, adhering to the principle of “Safety First, Romance Also First,” arranged several lifeboat drills. The alarm sounded—seven short blasts and one long. The guests quickly donned life jackets and gathered at the muster station.
After the orderly training, there were twenty minutes left before the livestream officially opened.
As the drill ended, the three Omega guests were nearly unable to walk. The Alphas’ physical stamina was significantly better, and this level of exertion was nothing to them.
Fu Anzhi, usually carrying a powerful aura, couldn’t hold herself up now and wanted to cling to Xia Qing’s leg for a hug, but Xia Qing nimbly dodged her.
The delicate Ning Yu became even more delicate, nearly crying her makeup off. Ban Yun tried to hold her but was pushed away with a palm strike.
Ming Ruixue and Si Xia glanced at each other, then immediately averted their eyes.
In front of the “real” couples, how could they compete?
Ming Ruixue analyzed the current status of the other two pairs. Whether they were destined to be a couple or used to be one, at least they weren’t “together” right now.
According to the usual logic of such shows, they wouldn’t break up the other two established pairs. What the show really wanted to present was the kind of sparks a Rival CP would produce.
Thinking this, Ming Ruixue decided to play along with the scheme.
Watching the other two pairs chase each other in front of the camera would get boring after a while. It would be far more interesting to see a Rival CP “fake it until they make it.”
On the open-air deck, a salty sea breeze brushed their faces.
Ming Ruixue tilted her chin toward Si Xia. “Remember you owe me a favor?”
Si Xia smoothed her hair. “I haven’t forgotten.”
“Good.” Ming Ruixue sat down beside her, analyzed the current situation, and then straightforwardly made her demand: “So, you can only pair up with me.”
Si Xia let out an “Uh,” clearly reluctant.
Ming Ruixue wasn’t afraid of her refusing. She used reverse psychology: “Scared?”
Heh.
Si Xia agreed readily, “Fine, let’s pair up.” Who was afraid of whom?
They were both actors; who could out-act the other? Besides, in front of the cameras, an Alpha wouldn’t dare do anything excessive.
Not that they hadn’t done “excessive” things already.
It was only after she briskly agreed that Si Xia remembered she was still in her heat. Being around a Catnip Alpha was asking for trouble.
It was over. She had lost the upper hand right at the start.
She had to seize the initiative elsewhere.
When the six guests returned from the muster station, their hair was blown into a mess. With ten minutes until the livestream started, everyone had to return to their cabins to freshen up.
Leaving the fifth-floor deck and entering the eighth-floor stairwell, they found a prompt card: [The six guests will draw cards for room assignments; cabin grade depends entirely on luck.]
Even sleeping had to have a hierarchy.
Little Princess Ning Yu was already displeased. “I already have trouble sleeping. What if I draw a bad one?”
Ban Yun reassured her, “If I draw a good one, I’ll trade with you.”
Ning Yu shot her a look. “What if you draw a bad one too?”
Logic: 100 points. Ban Yun had no retort.
Si Xia maintained a “sweet girl” image in front of the audience but had a decisive personality. She was the first to take a card. “The show is about to start; I’m going to go rest.”
Ming Ruixue followed, picking a card at random. She didn’t care about the grade; as long as she could sleep, it was fine.
The remaining four cards were split among the others.
The moment Si Xia opened her cabin door, a gentle sea breeze blew through. Stars were quietly appearing in the darkening maritime sky.
A sea-view balcony room. Later, she could drink milk tea while feeling the breeze—she couldn’t imagine anything more pleasant.
Si Xia threw her door open in a great mood. Hers was a Grand Suite.
Ming Ruixue’s cabin was right across from her. After seeing Si Xia’s room, Ming Ruixue had a bad premonition.
She swiped her card and pushed the door open. No sea breeze, no stars—just pitch blackness.
Ming Ruixue fumbled to turn on the lights.
Hah.
Just a single bed. It was, indeed, for sleeping.
Si Xia raised an eyebrow, finally having bested her rival in one area. she tilted her head triumphantly. “Your room is so bad~”
Ming Ruixue curled her lips and said nothing.
But that wasn’t enough. The countdown to the livestream reached ten seconds.
Si Xia timed it perfectly. In the very last second before the audience flooded into the livestream, she opened her door and issued a demure invitation:
“Sister, do you want to come in?”
With this sentence, regardless of whether the other party answered or how they answered, Si Xia had successfully grabbed the spotlight.
If they were going to act, why not make it spicy?
While Si Xia had a natural talent for acting, Ming Ruixue wasn’t bad either. If the Omega wasn’t afraid, why should she, an Alpha, be?
The microphones picked up the sound with crystal clarity. Ming Ruixue spoke suggestively:
“Sure. I promise to be gentle.”
