Chapter 26

Inside the dressing room sat a box made of transparent material.

Inside were over a dozen small spiders; one had likely taken advantage of a gap to escape and jump onto Si Xia.

Ming Ruixue fixed her gaze on the luggage bag Bei Chuanchuan was packing and asked, “Are these spiders yours?”

Bei Chuanchuan pulled the zipper shut, her expression unnatural. “Ah, they are pets I keep.”

It was the first time Ming Ruixue had seen spiders kept as pets. She looked at Bei Chuanchuan with a smile and reminded her, “Since they are pets, you must keep a close eye on them. It’s easy for them to scare people if they get out.”

And it’s easy for them to get pinched to death.

Bei Chuanchuan picked up the dead spider from the floor with heartache. The spiders in the box had smelled the milky pheromones on Si Xia and couldn’t help but want to crawl out and perch on the Omega’s nape, as if they had found their mother.

It was the first time Bei Chuanchuan had encountered an Omega with such a high compatibility.

Si Xia’s entire body shrank back. Her scalp tingled at the sight of that box of spiders. She tugged at Ming Ruixue’s sleeve. “I keep feeling… creepy inside.”

Ming Ruixue also felt somewhat uncomfortable. She gripped Si Xia’s wrist in return and said, “Don’t worry, these spiders aren’t poisonous.”

“But it hurts when they bite.” Si Xia touched her nape; it still felt a bit numb.

“Let me see.” Ming Ruixue brushed aside the hair at the back of Si Xia’s neck. On the fair, tender skin, there were no new wounds aside from the mark left by her bite during the temporary marking that day.

Ming Ruixue was close; her warm breath brushed against Si Xia’s skin as she spoke. “It’s fine, you weren’t bitten.”

A shiver ran through Si Xia, and that numbing sensation returned. The Alpha’s movements were too intimate, making her ears turn red. She dodged awkwardly, using her hair to hide her cheeks.

Ming Ruixue noticed this as well. “Si Xia, how come I never noticed you were so easy to embarrass before?”

“Who’s embarrassed?” Si Xia refused to admit it, stiffening her neck to change the subject. “Let’s just hurry up and start working.”

It was not quite normal that Si Xia didn’t find the intimate gesture of the Alpha brushing aside the hair on her nape repulsive—instead, she felt shy.

Ming Ruixue let out a light laugh and followed her. “You clearly are, yet you won’t admit it.”

Si Xia turned back and glared at her. “Ming Ruixue! Stop talking nonsense.”

Fine. Ming Ruixue was going to see if she was actually talking nonsense or not.

The scene for the necktie advertisement shifted from the bedroom to the workplace, filming short snippets of a couple’s daily life.

The opening shot featured the two of them waking up in a double bed, in the languid sleeping posture of a newlywed couple.

Ming Ruixue wore no makeup; her bare face was clean and possessed a natural coolness on camera, but under the warmth of her “wife,” a trace of gentleness emerged.

Si Xia had changed into her pajamas; thin spaghetti straps hooked over her shoulders, and her soft white cheeks carried a flush from waking up overnight.

The snow-white double bed was prepared. Although the two had read the script, they couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward at this moment. The KL boss was very good at creating hype; the beginning of the ad alone captured the attention of the CP fans.

Ming Ruixue didn’t lie down first. She turned her head toward Si Xia and said, “Why don’t you lie down first? I’ll coordinate my movements with yours.”

There were no designated movements in the script, giving the spokespersons plenty of room to improvise.

Si Xia felt awkward; she was actually lying in the same bed as her rival in front of the camera. She adopted a very stiff sleeping posture, lying on the left side of the bed. If Ming Ruixue lay down like that, they would look like two rigid robots—there would be nothing worth watching.

The director reminded them to get closer, be more intimate, and preferably more ambiguous—just like they were filming the dating show.

Ming Ruixue turned her head to look at Si Xia. “Do you have any ideas?”

Si Xia crossed her hands over her abdomen and said nothing. She simply turned over, leaving her back to Ming Ruixue.

“Then I’m coming over.” Ming Ruixue cooperated with Si Xia’s movement, leaning in close and encircling her in her arms. Suddenly, she felt this posture was somewhat familiar, as if she had tried it in a dream.

As the warmth pressed close, Si Xia froze. She suddenly felt a lack of security regarding her nape with Ming Ruixue behind her, so she turned around, her gaze meeting Ming’s.

Sharing a single pillow made things a bit ambiguous. Si Xia quietly shifted downward a bit, only seeing Ming Ruixue’s beautiful chin.

“Is the posture set?” Ming Ruixue’s voice asked her lowly from above. She didn’t move until Si Xia nodded.

Coordinating with Si Xia, Ming Ruixue lifted Si Xia’s head to let her rest on her arm, then encircled her in her embrace once more.

The encircled Si Xia: “…”

The distance between them was too close. Ming Ruixue’s collarbone was right before her eyes. The scent of catnip attracted Si Xia, making her want to lean in and take a bite.

The script allowed for free improvisation, and Ming Ruixue still owed her a bite. Si Xia licked her lips; she might as well use it now.

The waking-up posture was set. Just as Ming Ruixue was about to say her lines, she suddenly felt a pang of pain at her [Read on BaiLianTales]collarbone, followed by a wet sensation, as if a cat were licking her.

Ming Ruixue let out a hiss. “What are you biting me for?”

With such a fragrant catnip scent nearby, Si Xia really couldn’t help herself, so she bit. But she remained stubborn and had a bit of a temper. “Ming Ruixue, you owed me this bite anyway.”

She was exceptionally self-righteous.

Ming Ruixue touched her collarbone with her finger; there were faint teeth marks. Although not deep, it inevitably hurt.

“Si Xia, don’t you think biting me now is a bit inappropriate?”

Right now, on the bed, in front of the camera, and in front of the staff—it was far too inappropriate. It might have all been caught on film.

Si Xia countered with light irony, “Don’t tell me you’re having some kind of ‘reaction’? Are you that scared?”

Gulp. Ming Ruixue swallowed hard. “What are you saying? How could I possibly have a reaction?”

“Oh? No reaction, is that right?” Si Xia pushed her luck and pinched her waist. “Then does Sister have some kind of problem?”

Ming Ruixue grabbed her restless hand. “Behave yourself. We’re improvising, but don’t cross the line.”

Si Xia insisted, “Are you scared?”

No reaction, has a problem, and is scared. To put it plainly, Ming Ruixue was being called weak.

In front of the camera, the Omega was wearing very little fabric. Her figure was well-proportioned, and her fullness was on full display while lying on her side.

Ming Ruixue lifted her gaze, thinking of the lines in the script. Before she could speak, she heard Si Xia lean in and laugh provocatively, “I didn’t think there would be a time when Sister was scared.”

Usually, it was Ming Ruixue who held the initiative on camera. Now that Si Xia had the advantage, she wanted to be even more out of line.

Ming Ruixue pulled a necktie from under the pillow and [bailiantales.com]wrapped it around Si Xia’s waist, once, twice…

“This isn’t in the script.” Si Xia grabbed Ming Ruixue’s wrist to stop her. “Don’t change things randomly…”

Ming Ruixue grabbed the tie and pulled it forward, bringing the milky-scented Omega into her arms. She leaned against her ear, speaking almost entirely with her breath:

“Actually, I didn’t tell the truth just now. You almost bit me until I was ‘wet’…”
