After the Scum Alpha Picked Up Her Rival Omega - Chapter 8
The elevator plummeted several floors and jerked to a stop mid-air.
The enclosed, cramped space was pitch black, save for the red flicker of the overhead emergency light.
Si Xia took a moment to steady her breathing, then pulled away slightly, turning her face aside. “Sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose, but… let me lean on you for a bit.”
In the faint red glow, Ming Ruixue lowered her chin and saw Si Xia’s helpless profile; the Omega’s skin was slightly flushed, and her face was burning up.
Ming Ruixue didn’t move. “Are you this afraid?”
The Alpha’s low, deep voice seemed to have a soothing effect. Logically, cats aren’t afraid of the dark, but Si Xia was different; she was particularly terrified of being trapped in dark, confined spaces.
She needed someone to rely on, and with only Ming Ruixue around, Si Xia couldn’t afford to be picky. She subconsciously gripped Ming Ruixue’s hem, so scared that she buried her face into the neck of the catnip-scented Alpha.
The Omega was curled into a ball, small and cat-like. Si Xia couldn’t help but let out a soft whimper.
Realizing the severity of the situation, Ming Ruixue raised her hand to gently pat Si Xia’s shoulder and back. “Don’t—don’t cry. Someone will come to save us.”
“I know,” Si Xia said, fighting back tears. “But… could you please not touch me?”
Ming Ruixue’s hand froze mid-air, then dropped awkwardly to her side.
Si Xia could huddle in her arms, but Ming Ruixue wasn’t allowed to touch her.
Ming Ruixue was actually amused by the absurdity. “Si Xia, be reasonable.”
Si Xia replied righteously, “Why should I be reasonable with a rival? Don’t forget what you did to me before—stealing so many of my resources. I didn’t demand ‘reason’ from you then!”
That was all the original owner’s fault, Ming Ruixue thought. A catnip spirit like me doesn’t have such wicked intentions.
Knowing she was in the wrong by association, Ming Ruixue said, “I was wrong in the past. You don’t have to believe me for now, but I will prove it with my actions. I will treat you well from now on.”
The Alpha’s words were sincere, but they sounded incredibly awkward to the ear.
Si Xia lifted her face, frowning coldly. “Save those words for other gullible Omegas.”
Ming Ruixue: “…”
Am I really that untrustworthy?
The Alpha went silent. Si Xia suddenly remembered that the scent of the catnip plant in Ming Ruixue’s house seemed identical to the Alpha’s pheromones—the scent of top-tier catnip.
Si Xia had searched the entire market and couldn’t find a single catnip plant capable of soothing an Omega’s heat, but the one in Ming Ruixue’s house seemed different.
Si Xia changed her tune. “Ming Ruixue, if you truly want to apologize, it’s not impossible.”
Ming Ruixue’s eyes darkened slightly. “What are you thinking?”
“When we met on the road, I saw you holding a pot of catnip,” Si Xia paused, her voice low. “Can you give it to me?”
So, Si Xia had seen her waving on the road; she just only had eyes for the catnip. That plant was a clone of the catnip spirit itself—how could she just give it away?
Ming Ruixue: “…”
Seeing Ming Ruixue’s reluctant expression, Si Xia sighed as if she didn’t care. “And you said you were sincerely apologizing. You can’t even part with a pot of catnip. Forget it, I didn’t want it that much anyway.”
Relieved that she didn’t truly want it, Ming Ruixue exhaled. “That’s good then.”
Si Xia glared. “?”
Is this rival’s brain missing a wire?
Hateful Alpha! Sticking to a single pot of grass!
Si Xia gritted her teeth, and seeing Ming Ruixue’s relaxed face, she said resentfully, “Give me the contract for the fish production line. I want to sign it!”
Ming Ruixue was naturally happy to oblige.
Using the red emergency light to sign her name indignantly, Si Xia wanted to see Ming Ruixue’s heart bleed. A production line was far more expensive than a pot of catnip; she didn’t believe Ming Ruixue wouldn’t be heartbroken over the loss.
But no. Instead, Ming Ruixue asked self-righteously, “So, do you agree to reconcile with me?”
Si Xia clenched her fists and turned her face away. “I won’t reconcile that easily!”
A tsundere cat wasn’t that easy to coax. However, in their current state, the Omega’s angry words while leaning in the Alpha’s arms really lacked conviction.
As a catnip spirit who upheld “Alpha Morality,” Ming Ruixue was struggling to resist the woody-milk scent from the Omega’s neck. Si Xia’s scent was identical to that of the beautiful cat. Ming Ruixue was reaching her limit, fine beads of sweat appearing on her forehead.
With the Omega’s long, fair neck exposed, Ming Ruixue’s voice turned parched. “Si Xia, leaning in an Alpha’s arms like this is very dangerous.”
Si Xia knew it was dangerous, but she really couldn’t help it. The catnip pheromones on her rival were too fragrant—so fragrant she had forgotten they were in the dark.
Si Xia warned, “Ming Ruixue, you are not allowed to have any other inappropriate thoughts.”
Ming Ruixue said helplessly, “Do you think a soft warning like that is useful against an Alpha?”
“What?” Si Xia opened her watery eyes. “Ming Ruixue, you…”
Seeing the Omega’s pitiful look, Ming Ruixue’s heart itched, but she restrained herself. “Got it. I won’t touch you.”
After a while, Ming Ruixue reached up and pulled Si Xia’s hoodie over her head, covering her alluring neck.
The area behind the ears is an Omega’s most private part; that slightly flushed, delicate skin is what Alphas fantasize about.
It was dangerous for an Omega in heat to be with an Alpha, especially one who was a notorious scumbag. Yet, Ming Ruixue had taken the initiative to help her cover her glands.
Si Xia was dazed. The Alpha could actually be this kind.
Because of this, Si Xia suddenly felt her rival’s catnip pheromones smell even better. her body gradually grew feverish, and huddling in the cool catnip scent felt like she was melting.
As they remained trapped, the oxygen in the enclosed space grew thinner.
The elevator had reached the bottom. Ming Ruixue could hear Peng Jia’s faint, frantic voice from above.
Ming Ruixue breathed a sigh of relief. “Si Xia, someone is coming to save us.”
The Omega in her arms began to breathe more heavily. Ming Ruixue could clearly feel Si Xia’s scorching body temperature.
Sensing something was wrong, Ming Ruixue held the Omega’s shoulders. “Si Xia, what’s wrong?”
The Omega had been pushed into heat by the wisps of Alpha pheromones. Si Xia pushed Ming Ruixue away, trying her best to suppress it, her voice trembling. “Don’t touch me.”
Ming Ruixue pulled off Si Xia’s mask and noticed that her fair face was flushed a seductive red, with fine beads of sweat sliding from her hairline down her cheek.
Even her stifled whimpers sounded sweet and cloying.
The Omega’s woody-milk pheromones were incredibly clingy. For a moment, the space was thick with the scent of milk. Ming Ruixue clenched her palms, suppressing the heat in her own heart; this was the first time she had such a strong reaction to an Omega.
Aside from that beautiful cat.
The elevator was about to be breached. Ming Ruixue remembered that Peng Jia always carried Alpha suppressants in her bag. She desperately needed one now.
Ming Ruixue comforted Si Xia while also comforting herself. “Wait a little longer, we’ll be out soon.”
Si Xia bit her lip, unable to speak, only letting out unbearable hums.
Ming Ruixue’s body couldn’t resist the temptation of an S-grade Omega’s pheromones. Her mind grew hazy, her back drenched in sweat. She pressed against the cold elevator wall to cool down, but it was useless.
On the other hand, the Omega’s situation was worse. Si Xia’s consciousness was nearly gone, lured away by the catnip scent. She recklessly wrapped herself around Ming Ruixue’s waist, whispering a soft, melting temptation:
“Sister, help me…”
