After Being Taken Home By A Powerful, Possessive Omega - Chapter 10
The laundry room in the hotel suite was enormous. Without the surrounding furnishings, it looked somewhat empty.
Ji Chun raised her eyes and instinctively searched the familiar spot.
There was no camera this time.
She picked up the clothes Pei Heng had changed out of, placed the outer garments in the ultrasonic washing machine, and hand-washed the underwear with the special detergent they had brought.
When she reached the middle section, her fingertips lightly brushed over the nearly soaked fabric.
Her fingers slowly pressed together, then opened again.
Expressionlessly, she looked at the silver thread running through the center.
In the end, she gently cleaned it completely.
She only ate things while they were warm.
Then she forgave Pei Heng for choosing to handle things herself instead of coming to her.
After all, as long as the difficult responsibility of washing Pei Heng’s underwear remained hers, she would not be abandoned.
As she passed the floor-to-ceiling window, she looked down for a while.
The piercing roar of a motorcycle suddenly shook the surroundings. Ji Chun jolted violently, practically launching herself into the air before falling to the floor.
The person who should already have been lying in bed stepped out of the bedroom.
Seeing Ji Chun stunned senseless by the noise, Pei Heng pressed her lips together helplessly.
After her mind buzzed blankly for a moment, Ji Chun raised a pair of damp eyes toward her.
“That was so loud. Just now. It sounded like a motorcycle was circling this place.”
“Mm. It was a modified armored vehicle. Come into the bedroom. Someone will deal with it.”
Order was chaotic on this island, but the hotel was the one place where no one was permitted to cause trouble.
After all, no one knew how many powerful figures supported the people capable of opening a hotel here.
In any case, the hotel was absolutely safe.
Pei Heng appeared completely accustomed to such things.
She leaned against the pillows at the head of the bed, holding a reader and turning the pages one by one.
Eventually, the burning gaze fixed upon her made it impossible to continue reading.
“Don’t you have anything to do?”
The moment she asked, she looked at the puppy whose only piece of advanced technology was the collar around her neck and pursed her lips.
She ought to give Ji Chun a communication device.
Pei Heng handed her backup light screen to Ji Chun.
“Watch some short videos or something. Stop staring at me.”
Ji Chun obediently accepted it.
Once she connected to the network, the first video that appeared concerned financial trends.
The corner of Pei Heng’s mouth lifted.
The things she ordinarily followed were naturally this refined and sophisticated.
Yet it did not take long for Ji Chun’s feed to drift in a completely different direction.
At first, Pei Heng could barely tolerate the idiotic content.
Then that foolish Alpha stopped for a long time on a video of one partner soothing the other to sleep.
Pei Heng placed her reader on the bedside table and turned toward Ji Chun.
The woman was staring intently at the couple on the screen, then looking at Pei Heng with hesitant expectation.
“You want that too?”
The puppy nodded with sparkling eyes.
“Can I?”
Pei Heng lay on her side against the pillow and lightly hooked a finger beneath Ji Chun’s chin.
Ji Chun immediately leaned forward and kissed the corner of her lips.
Pei Heng froze.
This was the first time Ji Chun had kissed her.
There had been no unnecessary movement. It had been so natural that it was almost suspicious.
Who else had she kissed before?
Who did she subconsciously believe Pei Heng was?
Her gaze darkened slightly.
Ji Chun’s body had been taken back from another woman.
The person who had constantly claimed to love Pei Heng so much had apparently possessed another “lover” who was willing to offend Pei Heng and fight her to mutual destruction over Ji Chun’s corpse.
Pei Heng turned over, naturally missing the guilty expression of someone who had performed eight hundred false starts in a single second before finally stealing that kiss.
“Don’t even think about it.”
She was already eating from Pei Heng’s bowl while thinking about what was in someone else’s pot, yet she still wanted to be coaxed to sleep.
A lowly resident of that den of the dead.
Ji Chun lowered her eyes, turned off the light and the screen, then pressed her warm body close to the woman lying with her back toward her.
Her breathing filled with sandalwood.
She slowly released her pheromones, wrapping the woman in her own scent.
The unfamiliar room was dark.
The earlier roar of the vehicle seemed to replay endlessly beside her ears.
She closed her eyes, but her sleep remained unsettled.
Suddenly, something happened downstairs again.
A noise resembling an explosion shattered a pane of glass, followed by a piercing crash and clatter.
Ji Chun’s eyes snapped open.
Fire seemed to ignite within her pale gaze.
She wrapped her arms tightly around the waist of the woman in her embrace, pressing her entire body over Pei Heng and shielding her completely.
The explosion passed.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three.
The woman raised her arms and gently embraced Ji Chun in return.
“It’s all right, baby. There’s no danger.”
“Will you let Mommy out now?”
Ji Chun stiffly released her.
Every muscle in her body remained tense, as though she had fallen into some kind of trance.
Then the woman’s soft voice reached her ears.
“Baby, open your mouth.”
That cherry was placed into her mouth, carrying the taste of sandalwood.
…
A soft laugh sounded beside her ear, half gasp and half reproach.
“Bad puppy.”
Ji Chun whimpered and fell into a deep sleep beneath the soothing pheromones.
In her dream, the firelight of explosions flashed again and again.
Pieces of flesh scattered across an abandoned plaza appeared and vanished.
She dragged forward a body blasted by gunpowder and gradually losing its life.
Calmly.
Slowly.
One step at a time.
She seemed to be searching for someone.
She appeared to be dying, yet she felt no fear.
Instead, a long-lost sense of belonging filled her.
Joy surged through her heart even as its beating grew weaker.
She was going to die.
She was going to die before the most important person in her life, making her departure in the most unforgettable way possible.
As though that would smooth away the painful folds of her brief, turbulent existence.
She would be remembered forever.
The next day, she awakened surrounded by softness.
The sky looked as though it was already noon, and warm sunlight fell across her back.
Still confused, she lightly bit the thing held inside her mouth…
Then she blankly released the red plum blossom and realized that she had not been biting the same one as the previous night.
At some point, she had switched to the one on the other side.
A pair of warm arms wrapped around her and pressed her into an embrace.
A soft, amused hum sounded above her.
“What is it? Are you surprised you’re still alive?”
Was Ji Chun even a respectable family Alpha?
She had spent the entire night saying that she was going to die.
Even having her mouth occupied could not keep her quiet.
Pei Heng’s body had gone numb from the murmuring tip of Ji Chun’s tongue, so she had been forced to switch sides.
Ji Chun had tormented her throughout the night and left her unable to sleep.
Now that the woman had finally awakened, Pei Heng closed her eyes wearily and released the arms around her.
“Do you want a communication device?”
Ji Chun nodded.
“Mm. There’s one on the table. I’m the only contact saved in it. Don’t add strange people when you’re outside.”
As she spoke, she opened her amber, peach-blossom eyes.
The outer corners curved gently, carrying the heavy weariness and tenderness that followed intimacy.
“Call me Mommy, and I’ll reward you with it.”
“Mommy.”
Ji Chun rubbed lightly against Pei Heng’s arms.
When she raised her gaze again, a damp pool had gathered in the woman’s eyes, and her breathing had grown heavy.
Unable to tolerate any more, Pei Heng slapped her away.
“Go to the gym by yourself.”
“Mm-hm.”
Ji Chun slipped the newest communication device into her pocket and gently stroked it.
Its casing was metallic, and it seemed to be the same model as Pei Heng’s.
It also contained Pei Heng’s contact information.
Did that mean she could reach her at any time?
The corner of Ji Chun’s mouth lifted slightly.
Before she had taken even half a step, the woman who had just closed her eyes pulled her back.
The next instant, softness covered her lips.
The Omega hooked one arm around her, forcing her to bend down.
As their breaths tangled, the pressure between their lips gradually deepened.
A soft tongue was lightly teased.
Ji Chun rested one knee against the edge of the bed.
When they separated for several seconds, darkness filled her eyes as she stared into the woman’s damp gaze.
She lowered her head and captured those soft lips again.
She bit lightly and rubbed against them before her tongue invaded unfamiliar territory, slowly forcing its original inhabitant from the center toward the corner.
With nowhere left to retreat, they entwined together.
The woman lifted her swanlike neck, nearly driven to tears.
Finally, she bit Ji Chun’s lip fiercely.
The taste of blood spread.
As though stimulated by it, Ji Chun’s right hand gripped the woman’s slender waist.
Before she could secure her hold, she was kicked to the floor.
Pei Heng’s face was flushed.
Desire and cold detachment collided within her watery eyes.
“You’re so practiced. You must have kissed plenty of other people before.”
She sneered, pulled the quilt over herself, and turned her back toward Ji Chun.
Ji Chun stared at her blankly.
The foot Pei Heng had used to kick her still remained outside the quilt.
She stood, lifted the foot into her hands, and examined it.
The toes were pink, small, and rounded.
The nails had been cut evenly and kept perfectly clean.
It was warm and soft.
Could she kiss this?
She wanted to so badly.
She became absorbed in staring.
The next moment, the delicate foot was quickly pulled beneath the quilt, forming a small lump.
Ji Chun raised her eyes.
The woman who had been facing away had already turned back around.
The desire that had clouded her eyes moments earlier had returned to coldness.
“You can become like this over a foot. You really are cheap.”
Half-kneeling beside the bed, Ji Chun lowered her eyes and muttered quietly.
“That’s not true.”
“I’m only like this with you.”
—
Ji Chun stared at the tightly closed bedroom door and sank into thought.
She had been thrown out.
She took the communication device from her pocket and made a video call to Pei Heng.
It was rejected.
She called again.
It was rejected again.
So she took a photograph of herself beside the door, looking both pitiful and obedient, and sent it to Pei Heng.
“Mommy, I’ve reached the door.”
Pei Heng liked it when she called her that.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, a single brief word appeared from the other side.
Pei Heng: “Mm.”
Ji Chun reported her progress the entire way.
Even when Pei Heng stopped answering, she was not discouraged.
She either took photographs with the dog tag or sent messages directly to Pei Heng.
When she finally reached the gym, she activated flight mode, and her contact interface floated in the air.
She adjusted it left and right until she found the most beautiful and seductive angle.
It captured the drops of sweat falling from her lashes, the veins standing out across her straining arms and shoulders, and even the faint sound of her breathing.
She exercised for an hour and a half and recorded herself for the entire time.
Just as she prepared to send the video to Pei Heng, she noticed a new friend request from the corner of her eye.
The profile picture was a small turtle.
“Hello, Madam. I’m President Pei’s personal assistant. Please accept my friend request so it will be easier to communicate in the future.”
Ji Chun thought for a while.
After accepting, she sent over the video she had just recorded.
The other party’s status displayed typing… for a very long time.
Finally, a single question mark appeared.
Little Turtle: “Madam, I’m a Beta.”
Ji Chun: “Can you edit this into a video of around ten minutes and send it to Pei Heng for me?”
Little Turtle: “Of course, Madam.”
On the other side of the computer, the diligent assistant sitting at her workstation wiped the sweat from her forehead.
That had been close.
She had nearly been chopped into pieces and fed to the fish alongside Madam.
