After Being Taken Home By A Powerful, Possessive Omega - Chapter 9
While settling the luggage, Pei Heng finished handling the last item of work.
She instinctively rubbed her lower back, which had been sore since the night before.
There were plenty of things to do on this island: underground boxing arenas, racetracks, aircraft courses, surfing zones, taverns…
But she had no intention of taking Ji Chun to any of them.
Instead, she set her sights on the hotel gym—the safest place, and also the easiest place for Alphas to compete with one another.
Ji Chun had nearly finished reading the rules for kept canaries. She believed she had already acquired plenty of theoretical knowledge.
Not far from Pei Heng, she held her stiff body in an elegant posture, ready to answer her benefactor’s summons at any moment.
“Come here. Take off your clothes.”
Ji Chun nodded and walked over.
Her slightly rough fingers, covered in tiny scars, slowly pulled open the burgundy shirt she wore as a jacket. As she moved, pale skin appeared beneath the shifting hem.
She had no defined abdominal lines or signs of exercise whatsoever.
She had spent two full years inside a cryogenic pod pretending to be dead. The only things worth looking at were her lean waist and pallid skin.
The burgundy shirt slowly slid away.
The Alpha’s long, slender fingers removed the final layer of fabric. Her gaze was like a vine locking onto its prey and tightening inch by inch.
Her breathing was soft as she raised a pair of damp eyes.
“Big Sister.”
Pei Heng remained unmoved.
Ji Chun shuffled forward a few more steps, half-kneeled beside Pei Heng’s legs, and rubbed against her gently.
“Wife?”
The woman lowered her lashes, casting a small shadow across her eyelids.
She looked down at the Alpha before her and sneered.
“With your current figure, all you’re good for is licking.”
There was no desire in Pei Heng whatsoever.
She remembered when she had first snatched Ji Chun back from that woman two years ago.
Pei Heng had peeled away the clothing stuck to her body and cleaned each wound little by little.
Every line of muscle had been perfectly proportioned. Red wounds had covered the thin, pale muscles, while her fingers were long and powerful.
Even though Ji Chun’s body held no warmth, Pei Heng had still been unable to stop herself from taking her inside.
The Alpha before her seemed to catch only the crucial word.
Intense emotion suddenly exploded within her pale eyes.
“I can lick?”
With a puppy like this, even an insult became a reward.
During Pei Heng’s brief moment of stunned silence, the puppy had already risen, buried her head in the hollow of Pei Heng’s neck, and leaned her large body against her while rubbing gently.
“Please. Let me, all right?”
Pei Heng lightly pressed a palm against her body.
When she felt something soft licking the narrow opening in the tender gland at the back of her neck, a heavy breath escaped between her lips.
She raised her hand and slapped Ji Chun.
“Stupid puppy. Your tongue… can’t go inside there.”
That place was meant for the exchange of pheromones. At most, marking fangs were supposed to enter it.
How could she use her tongue there?
Ji Chun whimpered and rubbed against her.
Feeling the weakness spreading through her lower abdomen, Pei Heng helplessly closed her eyes.
“Fine. You can lick.”
—
More than half an hour later, Pei Heng brought the thoroughly satisfied woman downstairs.
Ji Chun walked silently behind her.
When she said nothing, some of her former gloominess resurfaced.
Many people here recognized Ji Chun.
Naturally, they also knew about the new technology created by Ke Qingjue’s family, which was rumored to be capable of reviving the dead.
When they saw someone who had returned from death, speculation faintly appeared in their eyes.
Ji Chun’s dog tag carried a rank indicator.
Top-tier Alpha.
Even those who did not recognize her turned to look when they saw such a rare rank.
But once their gazes touched the person behind her, they quickly looked away again.
Who would court death by trying to steal an Alpha from Pei Heng?
The gym was fully equipped.
Nearly every single Alpha who came to show off her figure wore a sleeveless top, revealing smooth muscle lines. Sweat slid faintly from their foreheads onto the exercise equipment, while every breath released highly aggressive pheromones.
After brushing away the pheromones of other Alphas clinging to Pei Heng for what felt like the hundredth time, Ji Chun raised an aggrieved gaze toward her.
“Wife, can you take this off?”
She gripped her dog tag with one hand.
Pei Heng, who had been searching for suitable equipment for Ji Chun, looked over and tilted her head in confusion.
They had only been married for a few days, and Ji Chun already could not stand being restrained by her Omega?
Pei Heng wanted to see exactly where this stupid Alpha planned to go after removing her tag in a place filled with the stench of other Alphas.
If Ji Chun went to submit herself to another Alpha, Pei Heng would chop her into pieces and feed her to the fish.
The next moment, Ji Chun pressed down on Pei Heng’s hand before she could remove the tag.
Anxiety filled her pale eyes.
“No, that’s not it. My pheromones need to come out.”
“You smell like other Alphas. I don’t like it.”
Pei Heng lowered her lashes.
She fastened the clasp she had already pulled free, then hooked a finger through the dog tag and drew Ji Chun closer.
The instant their breaths met, the powerful pheromones of a top-tier Omega wrapped around them both, covering every other scent.
The woman leaned close and bit a small mark into Ji Chun’s collarbone.
“I marked you.”
She released Ji Chun.
“An Alpha whose body-fat percentage is too high to show any muscle definition isn’t qualified to leave her scent on me.”
Pei Heng’s eyes curved as she enunciated each word clearly.
“That includes you.”
She liked a noticeable difference in body size.
That was why Pei Heng’s own workouts focused only on shaping her figure.
It was also why, when she first faced Ji Chun, she had genuinely regarded her as nothing more than a child harboring inappropriate feelings.
Later, at all kinds of grand banquets, she saw the child secretly searching the edges of tables for food.
Ji Chun could eat from the beginning of the banquet all the way until the end, then pack more food to take home.
After eating so much, she gradually grew taller than Pei Heng.
She also deliberately began working out.
When they met again and Ji Chun’s broad figure overshadowed her, Pei Heng’s heart had unexpectedly begun beating wildly.
Those once-immature shoulders had become solid.
Faint, pale muscle showed across her broad shoulders and narrow waist.
Pei Heng had actually felt herself grow slightly wet.
Therefore, the fact that she could react physically to the current Ji Chun was entirely because she had sacrificed her preferences for the sake of emotion.
It was fine to make herself suffer a few times.
She could not do it for the rest of her life.
Ji Chun nodded as though she understood.
A piece of information naturally surfaced in her mind.
Pei Heng liked defined abs.
She liked beautiful muscle lines.
She liked watching Ji Chun accidentally lift her shirt after exercising.
Was this a memory that had already existed inside her mind?
Ji Chun lowered her eyes toward her current thin, pale arms and pressed her lips together.
Of her own accord, she walked toward an available back-extension machine.
She seemed extremely familiar with the equipment and naturally adjusted it to a very heavy setting.
But when she sat down, she could not pull it even once.
An Alpha beside her, who had been watching since she entered, sneered.
“Even if you’re a top-tier Alpha, starting with that much weight is overestimating yourself, isn’t it? With that tiny body, anyone can tell you’ve barely trained.”
Ji Chun lowered her eyes, blocking the other woman from her view.
“Muscleless Alpha. Don’t talk to me.”
“You…!”
The Alpha who had tried speaking to her gritted her teeth.
With her body-fat percentage, she was already considered extremely fit among female Alphas. Everyone who saw her praised her figure.
Seeing that her child had started arguing before even beginning, Pei Heng rose helplessly and walked to her side.
“What happened?”
Now that she had someone supporting her, Ji Chun whimpered and hid behind the woman, looking terribly wronged and eager for comfort.
She possessed none of the arrogance she had shown when calling the other woman a muscleless Alpha.
“I accidentally set the wrong weight and couldn’t lift it. She said I was overestimating myself.”
Everyone who came here knew Pei Heng.
The other Alpha had seen Ji Chun enter with her and had also noticed the bite mark near her collarbone.
But she had not expected this Alpha to be so shameless and manipulative.
How could Pei Heng possibly like an Alpha like this?
A dark light flashed through the woman’s raised eyes.
She smiled faintly.
“The gym is shared by everyone. People are free to train however they like, aren’t they?”
The provocative Alpha nodded sullenly.
“Yes. I’m sorry.”
After saying that, she practically fled.
No matter where they were, anyone who opposed Pei Heng never met a good end.
Leaving aside the fact that she alone controlled nearly all the world’s economic lifelines, Ke Qingjue beside her possessed technology rumored to revive the dead.
If someone offended them, Pei Heng and Ke Qingjue would not even need to act personally.
Powerful people who had lost loved ones and wanted the chance to revive them would tear the offender apart just to earn favor.
After driving the Alpha away, Pei Heng caught the sparkling admiration in Ji Chun’s eyes from the corner of her vision.
She secretly lifted the corners of her lips and stepped forward to adjust the equipment to a beginner’s weight.
“Take it one step at a time. Slowly.”
She sat nearby and openly admired the view.
Ji Chun was a top-tier Alpha, after all.
At the very least, her face was beautiful.
Her hair, which had not been cut in a long time, covered some of her sharper air. Her thick lashes lowered.
Now that she had regained a little awareness and knew Pei Heng was watching, she did not strain her expression too much.
Only a little sweat slid from her lashes.
It looked almost as though she were crying.
Pei Heng stared at the drop of sweat clinging to Ji Chun’s lashes, unable to fall.
For a moment, her breathing tightened.
She wanted to hold Ji Chun in her arms.
She wanted Ji Chun to take that cherry into her mouth and call her Mommy in the most aggrieved, desperate voice.
Ji Chun exercised for an hour.
Pei Heng watched her for the entire hour.
The sticky sensation of her underwear made her frown slightly.
It was uncomfortable, yet the feeling also stirred something inside her.
She led the exhausted woman back into their suite.
Beyond the enormous floor-to-ceiling window, the sea was brightly illuminated.
Helicopters, surfboards, and observation towers nearly blended together in the busy landscape.
If Ji Chun pressed her against the window and Pei Heng looked behind her, the view would probably be excellent.
Pei Heng glanced once more at the listless puppy and sighed inwardly.
So weak.
How could an Alpha possibly be this weak?
She could not even satisfy her own Omega.
After hurriedly showering, Ji Chun emerged wearing only a bath towel.
The suite lights were off.
Wrapped in a bathrobe, Pei Heng had sunk into the sofa before the floor-to-ceiling window. In her hand, a wineglass swirled with red wine meant to help her sleep.
A faint lip print stained its rim.
She casually handed the wine to Ji Chun when she approached and raised her tired eyes.
As Ji Chun accepted the glass, she noticed that the nail polish had been removed from the middle and index fingers of Pei Heng’s right hand.
A faint sandalwood fragrance still lingered on them.
“Wash the underwear, then come to bed.”
Ji Chun tightened her grip on the wineglass.
Her obscure gaze repeatedly traced the slender back before her.
Then she lowered her eyes, placed her lips over the print Pei Heng had left on the rim, and drained the remaining wine in a single swallow.
