After Being Taken Home By A Powerful, Possessive Omega - Chapter 11
By the time Pei Heng woke, the sun had already set.
She felt around until she found her communication device and saw that Ji Chun had sent more than ninety-nine messages.
Sitting up against the headboard, she opened them one by one.
They were all trivial things, ranging from a flock of pretty birds outside to Ji Chun deciding that a certain diamond decoration in the hotel was too dazzling and that she disliked it.
Pei Heng rubbed her eyes, still heavy from sleep. In the end, she replied with a reaction image before opening the video her assistant had sent.
Little Turtle: “President Pei, this is the video Madam asked me to edit. Both the original and the twenty-minute version are here.”
Pei Heng opened the edited one at the top.
The screen was instantly filled by a flushed face, with lowered lashes dampened by sweat.
The Alpha appeared to have been exercising for some time. Her breathing was uneven and faintly labored. The youthful quality unique to her age was tinged with dampness, while veins stood out faintly across her pale arms with every push.
Pei Heng’s waist and abdomen weakened instantly.
Just from watching Ji Chun’s fingers gripping the handles, she already felt herself growing damp and hot below.
Twenty minutes was exactly enough for one round.
Ji Chun truly was scheming.
A lowly, manipulative Alpha.
Pei Heng’s lashes drooped lazily.
As her fingertips grew slick, a thin mist gradually spread through her eyes. It gathered into a tiny tear that trembled against her lashes and dampened them.
Twenty minutes later, she closed her eyes. Her hand dropped naturally over the edge of the bed, transparent liquid dripping from her fingers.
The bedroom door suddenly burst open.
The puppy who had spent half the day playing outside had seen Pei Heng’s message, scanned her dog tag to buy some food, and rushed back carrying it.
Exactly twenty minutes had passed.
Pei Heng raised her eyes toward her, not even bothering to withdraw the hand hanging over the bedside.
She knew Ji Chun had returned quickly.
So what?
Even if this stupid Alpha discovered what she had been doing, what did it matter?
Hadn’t she sent that manipulative video precisely because she wanted to see Pei Heng seduced?
“Clean this for me.”
Pei Heng raised her hand. The warm, glistening moisture still clung to her fingertips.
Ji Chun placed the food she had brought onto the floor, drank some water, then half-knelt beside the bed.
She took the damp finger into her mouth and slowly licked it clean.
Pei Heng’s fingertips curled unconsciously.
Then she lightly bit her red lower lip.
Who had told her to clean it like that?
She had only used two fingers, so it did not take long.
A warm, soft tongue passed over every crease, finally drawing out a transparent strand.
The Alpha lowered her eyes and used a damp silk handkerchief to carefully wipe the fingers she had just licked.
She was unnaturally silent.
Then she opened the meal she had carried all the way back, unfolded a small table, and placed it before Pei Heng.
Pei Heng was not accustomed to eating in bed.
She shook her head, her amber, peach-blossom eyes studying Ji Chun’s expression before suddenly curving into an unmistakable smile.
“Are you unhappy?”
She truly was becoming more aware by the day.
Previously, when Pei Heng did something like this, the puppy would only obediently wash her underwear.
Today, she was actually angry because Pei Heng had taken care of herself.
Pei Heng had no intention of comforting her.
Now that Ji Chun was developing proper awareness, she had to be disciplined.
Otherwise, she would only become harder to coax in the future.
An Omega controlled by an Alpha would suffer for the rest of her life.
Pei Heng told Ji Chun to put the food aside.
Then she raised one leg. The fabric beneath was faintly damp and carried the bitter fragrance of sandalwood.
“Wash my underwear for me.”
Pei Heng smiled with perfect propriety. Hidden beneath her gentleness was the contempt of someone who had spent decades being waited upon.
Ji Chun moved closer.
Her fingers hooked beneath one edge of the underwear and gently pulled it downward.
When she approached the warm dampness, she stubbornly pushed her cold fingers inside.
Before the woman could arch her back, Ji Chun pulled them out just as quickly.
A warm, slender hand caught her wrist.
Pei Heng’s thumb paused when it brushed over an old scar there, then unconsciously rubbed it lightly.
Ji Chun raised her eyes and met those cool, indifferent peach-blossom eyes.
The smile on the woman’s lips faded almost imperceptibly, as though a thin, transparent glaze had hardened across it.
When she looked at Ji Chun now, she no longer seemed to be looking at a lover.
Instead, she resembled an antique appraiser examining a crude imitation made from ordinary materials.
“Ji Chun, have you stayed beside me for so long that you’ve forgotten what you may and may not do?”
She had deliberately recorded a video to seduce Pei Heng.
She had returned covered in the scents of other Alphas and Omegas.
She had dumped a pile of food onto Pei Heng’s bed.
Then she had thrust cold fingers into such a vulnerable place before they had even warmed.
Had it been anyone else, they would already have been dragged outside and fed to the fish.
Ji Chun clenched the underwear in her hand and went to the laundry room without saying a word.
She was furious.
So furious.
Pei Heng would rather handle herself than ask Ji Chun—not once, but twice.
And Pei Heng had just become angry.
Did that mean she truly intended to discard Ji Chun after the remaining five times?
The anger in her pale eyes slowly faded, leaving behind only bewildered helplessness.
If Pei Heng no longer wanted her, where was she supposed to go?
A needle-like pain suddenly stabbed through her temple.
She braced one hand against the sink as several scenes flashed repeatedly through her mind.
A filthy underground district.
The spectator stands where wealthy people cheered and placed enormous bets.
A bloodstained collar inside a cage…
And across from her—
A lion that had been starved for many days, saliva dripping from its sharp teeth.
It felt as though streams of water were pouring into her chest.
Drowning, she instinctively seized the object before her.
A sharp crack sounded.
Violent pain tore her free from suffocation.
The mirror reflected a distorted face.
Ji Chun lowered her eyes and saw broken glass covering the floor and blood dripping from her hand.
Pei Heng’s underwear could no longer be kept.
Faint footsteps sounded from the doorway.
Ji Chun lowered her head, suddenly afraid to look outside.
“What are you standing there for? Come out and let me bandage you.”
“Throw the clothing away.”
Ji Chun slowly raised her head and looked toward the backlit figure standing in the doorway.
The woman was barefoot. Her pink toes curled slightly against the hard floor.
She had accidentally stepped on a tiny piece of glass, leaving behind a faint bloody scratch.
Ji Chun walked out step by step.
She pressed her right hand against the bleeding area of her left to stop the blood from falling onto the floor.
They sat at opposite ends of the sofa, several meters apart.
A knock sounded at the door.
The entrance opened by remote control, and Pei Heng’s assistant with the turtle profile picture entered carrying a medical kit.
She hurriedly looked toward Pei Heng first.
When she noticed the small wound on her foot, surprise entered her eyes.
She immediately approached Pei Heng, carefully rinsed the wound with saline, and bandaged it.
“President Pei, what happened? How did you injure your foot for no reason?”
She was Pei Heng’s personal assistant and had cared for her daily needs for years. Their relationship was closer than that of ordinary employer and employee.
Pei Heng did not answer.
Her gaze remained fixed on Ji Chun.
That stupid Alpha had kept her head lowered and one hand clamped over the other since coming out.
She had not said a single word and had deliberately sat so far away.
Nor had she apologized for offending Pei Heng just now.
Pei Heng’s face turned cold.
She told the assistant to leave the medical kit and go.
Then she sat at one end of the sofa holding a physical book.
She lowered her eyes toward the distorted words on the page, occasionally glancing at the Alpha sitting with her head bowed on the other side.
Several minutes later, Pei Heng rose stiffly.
She pressed the book down onto the sofa, picked up the medical kit, and threw it beside Ji Chun.
Various items spilled across the floor with a clatter.
“Ji Chun, do you truly think I can’t do anything to you?”
“What exactly are you angry with me about? Haven’t I indulged you enough?”
In this entire world, who besides this stupid dog could make Pei Heng lower herself to such an extent?
No answer came from across the room.
Pei Heng’s patience gradually ran out.
Then a small sob sounded through the air.
She went rigid.
Crouching down, she looked at the figure curled into a ball.
Pale.
Fragile.
Helpless.
Only then did she truly remember that Ji Chun was a blank person without memories, support, or family.
Pei Heng was the first person she encountered when she opened her eyes.
The second, technically.
That damned sleepy driver.
When Ji Chun had been incapable of understanding anything, she naturally had no reason to feel hurt.
But her damaged brain was slowly recovering.
All the insecurity she had previously lacked, the phantom pain, and the fragments of memory caused by that abnormal 2.2 percent of her emotional structure were constantly consuming her.
Pei Heng extended a hand and gently lifted the puppy’s tear-soaked chin.
A pair of wet, pitiful almond-shaped eyes came into view.
Tears fell one after another from her thick lashes, each seemingly weighing a thousand pounds.
“I’m sorry.”
The puppy spoke through sobs, every word carrying a heavy nasal quality.
“Big Sister, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have treated you so carelessly.”
An enormous terror of being abandoned surrounded her.
The sensation of being swallowed by seawater surged over her, only to be blocked by the woman’s quiet sigh.
Pei Heng pulled her into an embrace.
Warmth rose within her arms.
Sandalwood pheromones mingled with the traces of tequila left from Ji Chun’s mark, slowly surrounding her.
“Give me your hand. I’ll apply medicine.”
The scarred hand was taken by another as white as jade and spread open.
Pei Heng carefully removed the tiny fragments of glass, used a cotton swab dipped in iodine to disinfect the wounds, sprinkled yellow medicinal powder over them, then wrapped the bandage into a beautiful bow.
“Even if you’re angry after being scolded, you can’t smash glass. Look at this. There’s blood everywhere. Does it hurt?”
There was no blame in Pei Heng’s tone.
It held more of the helpless indulgence one might show a rebellious child at home.
“I don’t dislike you touching me, nor did I choose to take care of myself because I didn’t want to call you.”
Pei Heng’s voice was soft.
“When I wanted you, you weren’t here.”
“When you came back, you were so impatient that you pushed your fingers inside before they had even warmed. Then you pulled them out almost immediately, as though you were only taking revenge on me.”
Ji Chun lowered her head and rubbed against Pei Heng’s embrace.
The tears that should have felt dirty instead seemed burning hot where they fell against Pei Heng’s chest, mixed with a dull, rigid ache.
“Are you still angry?”
Ji Chun shook her head.
“I’m not angry anymore.”
“Then—”
Pei Heng freed one hand and began undoing the buttons over her chest one by one.
The next instant, the person in her arms launched herself several meters away onto the opposite sofa.
As expected of a top-tier Alpha.
Only two days of exercise had produced significant results.
It would have been even better if she had not used them to escape Pei Heng.
The woman who had been crying so pitifully moments earlier retreated in terror.
“Big Sister, not today. We’re not doing it today.”
Every trace of gentleness vanished from Pei Heng’s face.
She smiled cruelly.
“Get out.”
