After Being Taken Home By A Powerful, Possessive Omega - Chapter 7
Their breaths tangled the instant their eyes met.
Pei Heng retreated several steps, allowing the person before her to pin her against the relatively clean door. A few faint strands of pheromones escaped through the gaps in the collar suppressing Ji Chun’s scent.
Pei Heng raised one hand and lightly slapped Ji Chun across the face.
The sound rang out sharply, and a vivid red handprint quickly appeared on Ji Chun’s pale cheek.
Ji Chun caught the hand Pei Heng was about to withdraw, turned her face, and gently rubbed against it. Open longing and darkness rippled through her pale almond-shaped eyes.
She raised her gaze toward Pei Heng like the most faithful of believers worshipping her with complete devotion.
Pei Heng yanked her hand free and slightly lifted her long, swanlike neck.
Being stared at like this alone was almost more than she could bear.
“Stupid Alpha. Do you even know where we are? How dare you fool around…”
“We’re… going home.”
Ji Chun was pulled along by the Omega, who was a head shorter than her. They walked quickly without pausing.
Just as they were about to leave, some strange impulse made Ji Chun turn back and glance at the man slumped against the bars, already devoid of life.
Her long-dormant heart suddenly came alive.
Pain, bitterness, and joy mixed like a palette of overturned paint. She could no longer distinguish which emotion should have been the underlying color of this moment.
It did not matter.
It did not matter who died.
Not even if it was herself.
—
The red garment slipped away amid the swaying movements.
Candlelight flickered in the woman’s eyes. Half-concealed beneath the fabric, she looked as though she were wearing a blood-red wedding dress.
Ji Chun sat there rigidly, her throat moving faintly.
The collar around her neck was unfastened, and her scorching pheromones wound around the woman’s soft waist, repeatedly pressing against the narrow opening in the tender gland at the back of her neck.
The woman laughed between soft gasps, pressing one finger against Ji Chun’s lips.
“Where are you trying to get into, bad puppy?”
Ji Chun lowered her head and gently rubbed against Pei Heng’s palm in a posture of absolute submission.
The intoxicating scent of tequila spilled between her parted red lips.
“Big Sister, please be good to me, all right?”
Wet sounds from a soft tongue stirring echoed beside her ear.
Pei Heng restrained herself and closed her damp lashes. Her breathing grew light as Ji Chun thrust into that softness.
So this really was a flaw rooted in her nature…
Ordinarily, she stammered and moved stiffly, but the moment it came to this, she suddenly became agile. She had even learned how to act pitiful.
The gland at the back of Pei Heng’s neck was forced completely open. The Alpha’s pheromones entered its deepest recesses and formed a complete knot within, sending an overwhelming sensation from the nape of her neck all the way down her body.
…
(Help, I don’t dare write this. Please make do with what you’ve got.)
—
A thin quilt covered the mottled marks across her body.
Sunlight slanted through the window and fell upon the woman who had yet to awaken.
Ji Chun rotated her aching wrists. Only then did she realize just how intense the previous night had been.
Yet right until the moment Pei Heng lost consciousness, she had still been mocking Ji Chun, saying that as an Alpha, she possessed pitifully little strength.
Ji Chun lowered her eyes, feeling defeated for what must have been the countless time.
She had actually managed to put someone to sleep on their wedding night.
She truly was useless.
She sat up and carefully tucked Pei Heng’s quilt around her.
Then she entered the room she had gone to on her first day and continued reading the unfinished guide for kept canaries.
Since her skills were inadequate, she would simply work hard to become a considerate Alpha instead.
She turned to the creased page.
The most important rule for a kept canary: You may have relations with your benefactor, but before perfecting your technique, avoid doing so whenever possible.
Ji Chun felt as though she had been struck by lightning.
It was over.
She had done it too soon.
What should she do now?
Could she still salvage the situation?
Right—washing underwear.
She would wash Pei Heng’s clothes first. That would make her happy.
She crept quietly back into the bedroom.
Her gaze seemed to lock into place as she carefully traced every detail of the sleeping woman’s face.
Then her greedy eyes settled on Pei Heng’s lips and the mottled marks covering her body.
What should she do?
Those marks would eventually disappear.
But she liked them so much.
How could she preserve this moment?
Ji Chun lowered her eyes and gripped her dog tag with one hand. She adjusted the built-in camera until it pointed toward the sleeping woman from a suitable angle.
The next instant, a new photograph appeared in Pei Heng’s surveillance gallery.
Only Pei Heng herself knew that gallery existed.
Then Ji Chun quieted her breathing and, remaining true to her original purpose, began pulling down the underwear Pei Heng had insisted on putting back on despite being exhausted.
Her movements were exceedingly gentle.
The garment slowly slid down inch by inch, revealing the dense forest beneath.
Ji Chun’s breathing nevertheless grew heavier without her realizing it.
A soft laugh came from above.
Ji Chun stiffly raised her head and collided with a pair of fully awake amber eyes.
She did not know how long Pei Heng had been awake.
Nor did she know how much she had seen.
“Taking advantage of me while I’m asleep?”
The woman raised her eyes lazily. She extended a hand and lightly hooked away the garment Ji Chun had pulled halfway down, reclining naked against the headboard.
They had only just married.
She did not mind giving Ji Chun a little more.
After all, she had already read the countless desires contained within the thick gaze that had followed her from behind in the past.
But the puppy shuddered.
Then, with great awkwardness, she took the underwear hooked around Pei Heng’s finger, held it reverently in both hands, thanked her solemnly, turned around, and walked straight out of the room.
Pei Heng stared after her.
What?
She was right here, alive and available, yet Ji Chun would rather have a piece of underwear?
Pei Heng became so angry that her temples began throbbing.
She opened her phone, originally intending to check the surveillance feed and see what Ji Chun was doing.
Instead, she noticed a red notification from the dog tag indicating that a surveillance album had been updated.
When she opened it, she found only a photograph of herself asleep.
She was lying on her side, half her head buried in the puppy-shaped pillow beside her. Beneath the quilt, faint patches of skin marked with scattered red traces were visible.
What was there to photograph?
Did Ji Chun like the way she looked while sleeping?
Did it make it easier for her to do whatever she pleased?
The corner of Pei Heng’s mouth lifted in pleasure.
To think Ji Chun was obsessed with her to this extent.
In that case, Pei Heng would forgive her for ignoring the living woman directly before her and taking away her clothing instead.
She got out of bed.
She could barely stand even while bracing herself against the wall.
Young people truly possessed boundless energy.
And Ji Chun’s strength had nearly been enough to pierce straight through her.
Fortunately, Pei Heng was a top-tier Omega.
Someone else might not have endured it.
She draped a nightgown over herself, vaguely concealing some of her skin, then held the doorframe and poked her head outside.
In the laundry room not far away, Ji Chun was laboriously washing the underwear, resembling an ox exercising great restraint.
She clearly wanted to rebel and push back desperately, yet insisted on pretending to be obedient.
Only after Ji Chun finally finished washing the garment and hung it up did a soothing female voice emerge from the dog tag’s speaker.
“Go outside and buy contraceptive medicine.”
Pei Heng had not originally planned to use contraception.
The higher one’s secondary-gender rank, the lower the fertility rate, while any resulting offspring would naturally possess a higher rank.
But she wanted to see the puppy stammering at the pharmacy while asking for this kind of medicine.
Especially since there were many different varieties.
Ji Chun nodded.
She returned to the room where she had first placed her luggage and solemnly took out the fifty-yuan bill.
As she walked through the living room, the woman seated on the sofa casually glanced at the crumpled, low-denomination banknote in her hand.
“Have the pharmacy scan your dog tag.”
Pei Heng had not paid attention when Ji Chun first arrived and had nearly forgotten that she was completely penniless.
Watching the puppy nod obediently and leave, Pei Heng opened the surveillance feed and projected it onto the television occupying an entire wall before her.
—
Ji Chun did not know the way.
But she knew pharmacies would smell of medicine.
So she followed the scent with her nose, little by little. After circling several intersections, she finally located the twenty-four-hour pharmacy reserved for the villa district.
She entered, and a nurse approached her.
“Hello. What can I help you with?”
Ji Chun nodded.
“I need… contraceptive medicine.”
The nurse paused.
“There are many different types. May I ask whether this involved an Alpha and an Omega?”
“Yes.”
“Then… um, did a knot form inside the gland?”
Ji Chun nodded.
“And below?”
“I tasted it.”
Back at the villa, Pei Heng instantly turned off the surveillance feed, her breathing unconsciously becoming heavier.
She would not appear beside Ji Chun in public for the next week.
Perhaps not even for the next month.
Even the idea she had just entertained of bringing Ji Chun to the upcoming product launch was completely extinguished.
She absolutely could not allow that nurse to discover that she was this stupid Alpha’s Omega.
Elsewhere, Ji Chun once again relied on her sharp sense of smell, following the trace of Pei Heng’s pheromones all the way home.
The medicine in her hands was sealed in black wrapping.
She held it out before Pei Heng like a treasure, her pheromones creating the illusion of a puppy tail wagging wildly.
Pei Heng merely glanced at her before swallowing one pill with warm water from beneath the quilt.
The medicine was expensive but had no side effects.
She picked up the remaining five pills and toyed with them between her warm, jade-like fingertips.
“Once these five are used, we won’t need them anymore.”
She was extremely wealthy, but had spent years occupied with endless social engagements.
There were still many pleasures in the world she had not had time to experience.
It would be better to produce an heir as soon as possible, raise the child properly, then retire early and travel around the world with the puppy.
But she still needed to consider where they should spend their honeymoon.
In the corner she failed to notice, Ji Chun’s face had turned pale.
What did that mean?
After doing it five more times, Pei Heng would no longer want her?
But they had only just gotten married.
Ji Chun lowered her eyes, concealing the disappointment inside them.
After accompanying Pei Heng through lunch, she listlessly followed her onto a helicopter and then transferred to an airplane.
Outside the window, the clouds were mottled. Golden sunlight passed through the soft whiteness, spreading into blurred layers of color with no clear boundaries.
For the first time, Ji Chun had no desire to look.
Only after finishing the arrangements for her leave did Pei Heng notice the heartbroken puppy lying beside the airplane window.
Why was she upset again?
Was it because she had not gotten any meat?
Was Ji Chun unhappy because Pei Heng had taken contraception and still intended to take five more pills?
Pei Heng beckoned.
The heartbroken puppy immediately wagged her tail and hurried over, crouching beside her legs.
“Ji Chun, when you have opinions or complaints, you need to tell me, all right? If you say nothing, I can only guess. Do you plan to make me keep guessing forever?”
If she continued guessing, she would only develop an even deeper understanding of Ji Chun’s perversions.
“Now listen to my questions. You can nod or shake your head. All right?”
The puppy nodded.
“Do you like children?”
The woman’s voice was soft.
The answer was not particularly important.
Whether Ji Chun liked children or not, Pei Heng still had to have a child with her.
Besides, Pei Heng quite enjoyed being called “Mommy.”
Especially when facing an affection-starved puppy who had left home at a young age.
Hearing Pei Heng’s question, Ji Chun shook her head.
She did not like children.
She felt that a child would steal away what little love Pei Heng had for her.
“Then do you want me to take contraceptive medicine?”
Pei Heng’s eyes curved. A trace of gentleness filled her amber gaze, tempting Ji Chun to reveal the final answer.
Ji Chun froze for a moment, but eventually shook her head again.
Once Pei Heng finished taking the pills, Ji Chun would be thrown out.
“Hah.”
The woman’s gentle expression abruptly turned cold.
She raised her leg and kicked the person crouching beside her to the floor.
Then she gazed down from above, her thin lips parting.
“Pervert.”
Ji Chun did not like children, yet she also did not want Pei Heng to take contraceptive medicine.
Did that not mean she simply wanted to see Pei Heng pregnant, with a large belly, looking weak and vulnerable?
Fortunately, Pei Heng had asked instead of relying on her own assumptions.
She had nearly imagined Ji Chun as too innocent.
She maintained a stern expression and deliberately turned her face away.
“Of course, if you behave well, it isn’t entirely impossible.”
She had occupied a position of power for far too long.
There was nothing wrong with occasionally showing weakness before the puppy, who remained beneath her in every situation apart from this particular matter.
Inexplicably, the thought that one day the person she had watched grow up might press her down forcefully and do things to her body that she had never dared imagine before made her waist turn weak and sore.
If she behaved well, she would not be thrown out?
Ji Chun nodded eagerly.
“I-I will!”
She certainly sounded enthusiastic.
Pei Heng lowered her eyes, one hand unconsciously resting against her lower abdomen and rubbing it gently.
If Ji Chun did not like children, could she truly be trusted with their education?
But if Pei Heng chose a poor teacher and the child was raised badly, having to give birth to another one would be troublesome.
Forget it.
Since when had she cared so much about Ji Chun’s opinion?
It would be their child.
Even if Ji Chun did not like the child, she would still have to raise them properly.
Besides, what right did she have not to like her own child?
