After Divorcing My Omega Ex-Wife - Chapter 2
“Please, help me.”
The only response she received was silence.
When it came to matters of intimacy, no answer was sometimes a kind of tacit permission.
And so Xie Qingyun grew bolder. She brought her face close to Shi Yun’s cheek and carefully rubbed against her, like a cat expressing friendliness, constantly brushing its whole body back and forth between its owner’s legs.
It tickled.
It tickled so much.
The cold air had made her cheeks icy, but now she had touched a source of heat. She could even feel the fine, tiny hairs on the other woman’s skin.
For some reason, the response she gave was a shiver.
Shi Yun had never experienced anything like this. Her spine was held ramrod straight, and she did not dare move. She swallowed, raising both hands to push Xie Qingyun away, but as if possessed, she stopped.
This feeling was so new.
Somewhere in her body, a tide of desire was also beginning to surge.
Her fists clenched, then loosened.
In the end, Shi Yun gripped Xie Qingyun’s arms and gently pushed her away. “Sorry.”
Shi Yun knew Xie Qingyun did not like her. All this time, she had been the one pestering the other woman. At this moment, Xie Qingyun’s actions were not out of love, only need—only a physiological reaction.
She could not take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state.
And her amnesia was the best explanation for their relationship.
She no longer loved her, while Xie Qingyun had never loved her in the first place.
“The family doctor will be here soon. Hold on a little longer.” Shi Yun stood up, straightened her wrinkled bathrobe, and retreated to a single-seater sofa nearby.
Xie Qingyun leaned against the sofa in a daze, misty tears welling in her eyes. Compared to the physical pain she could hardly hide, the ache in her heart was even worse.
Shi Yun did not dare look at Xie Qingyun again. She turned aside, went into the kitchen, took another bottle of ice water from the refrigerator, and gulped it down.
The cold spread through her body, and she shook her head.
Good thing she had not made a mistake.
She was preparing to find a time to bring up divorce.
The doorbell rang, and Shi Yun quickly went over to open the door.
It was indeed the family doctor.
Shi Yun let out a breath of relief. Her savior had arrived.
She briefly explained Xie Qingyun’s condition. The doctor was probably used to dealing with this kind of situation and skillfully took a suppressant from the medical kit.
Standing to the side, Shi Yun looked at the syringe with some worry. “Doctor, will this have any side effects?”
The doctor glanced at Shi Yun, but her hands did not stop moving. Perhaps because there was an outsider present, Xie Qingyun was no longer as muddled as she had been earlier and had regained quite a bit of clarity.
The suppressant was slowly injected into Xie Qingyun’s body. Shi Yun thought of herself. As an alpha, her sensitive periods did not come that frequently. For her, it was only a matter of getting one injection.
“She needs to be observed for thirty minutes after the injection.”
Shi Yun nodded. “Sorry for the trouble.” She raised her hand and gestured toward the reception room. “Please rest over here for a while.”
“Miss Shi,” Dr. He called out to Shi Yun. “Miss Xie has always been my patient. You may not understand her condition. Because she has been receiving suppressant injections for a long time, she has already developed drug resistance. For the sake of her health…”
She did not say the rest, but Shi Yun had already understood the implication.
Dr. He had deliberately said this behind Xie Qingyun’s back. Shi Yun lowered her head and stared at the floor for a while.
She had heard that the marble had been something she personally ran to the stone factory to pick out under the blazing sun. During that summer, she had gone back and forth between the construction site and the stone factory dozens of times, all because Xie Qingyun had once mentioned on a show that she liked this kind of pattern and wanted to use it in her own new home too.
“Mm, I understand.” Shi Yun raised her head and forced out a smile. “I’ll consider what you said.”
After seeing Dr. He off, Shi Yun shuffled back to the living room in her slippers. Realizing that Xie Qingyun was asleep, she immediately lightened her footsteps. When she walked to the sofa, the ice water she had used to cool Xie Qingyun down had already warmed to room temperature, and the released chill had left a puddle of water on the coffee table.
An omega’s heat came frequently. Because she had kept pestering Xie Qingyun, and because Xie Qingyun had someone else in her heart, Xie Qingyun could only rely on suppressant injections to get through her heats.
Shi Yun turned off the kitchen light and walked over to Xie Qingyun. She picked up a cushion from the other side of the sofa and carefully placed it under Xie Qingyun’s head, then took a throw blanket from the cabinet and covered her with it.
The flickering light made Xie Qingyun’s face look somewhat pale.
Shi Yun’s physical condition was excellent, so suppressants did not cause much harm to her.
She made a certain decision.
Divorce could not be delayed.
Once she decided to do it, she acted. Shi Yun took her laptop out of her suitcase, found a template online, and began drafting a divorce agreement.
By the time dawn faintly broke, Shi Yun set the laptop on the coffee table, stretched both arms from side to side, twisted her stiff neck, and raised her hand to thump it twice.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Xie Qingyun’s arm resting outside the blanket, while her leg had also slipped out restlessly. Shi Yun’s gaze gradually drifted: scattered curls, lips peeling from the fever.
Shi Yun licked her own lips and gulped down a mouthful of water.
When she looked over again, Xie Qingyun’s eyes were hazy with sleep. She raised a hand and waved it to block the sunlight.
Their eyes met, and Xie Qingyun froze.
She had just had a dream. In the dream, she was drifting up and down in the sea. Then Shi Yun appeared and grabbed her, only to let go at the very last moment.
Remembering Shi Yun’s rejection, Xie Qingyun realized this was not a dream.
Her already pale complexion turned even whiter.
Very quickly, Xie Qingyun gathered her thoughts and pulled out a smile. “Thank you for taking care of me last night.”
Because her lips were dry and cracked, the wound split open and began to bleed from the wide curve of her smile.
That drop of blood added a somewhat bewitching beauty to her pale face.
For a moment, Shi Yun could not help staring.
As expected of a female celebrity, Shi Yun sighed inwardly.
Only in extreme paleness did one realize how vivid a flower could be.
Even in such a sorry state, she could still be this beautiful.
Coming back to herself, Shi Yun snapped the laptop shut and waved a hand. “No need to thank me. It was just my duty while our marriage still exists.”
“Oh, don’t overthink it. Hahaha.”
Xie Qingyun did not laugh along. She only quietly looked at Shi Yun.
Shi Yun awkwardly withdrew her hand and gave two dry laughs.
So hard to please.
A beep came from the kitchen. The two of them looked over at the same time. Shi Yun reacted first. “I cooked some congee. Do you want some?”
Please say no, please say no.
She was only being polite.
There was only enough for one bowl!
“Okay.” Xie Qingyun agreed, sounding a little cheerful.
Shi Yun closed her eyes and could only accept her fate.
She bit her lip. “Wait a moment. I’ll go serve it for you.”
She did not go to the kitchen. Instead, she carried the laptop into the study, printed out the divorce agreement, and prepared to find time to show it to a lawyer.
When she came out of the study and saw Xie Qingyun in the dining room, she casually placed the agreement on the coffee table.
Shi Yun had already put the pot in water to cool it down. She ladled the congee into a bowl from the kitchen, stirred it a few times, and let the remaining heat dissipate. The side of the bowl still carried a faint warmth, just the right temperature to eat.
This was her favorite lean pork and vegetable congee. After staying up all night, having a bowl would make her whole body and mind feel comfortable.
And now she was handing it over to someone else just like that.
Shi Yun fiercely recorded another offense against Xie Qingyun in her heart.
Carrying the bowl out of the kitchen, she realized that Xie Qingyun, who had just been sitting in the dining chair, had disappeared. She looked left and right, but Xie Qingyun was nowhere to be seen.
Thinking of the divorce agreement she had casually left out, alarm bells blared in her head.
She was planning to lay her cards on the table, but not now.
She set the congee on the table. The moment she turned her head, Xie Qingyun walked over from the living room.
Shi Yun stiffly said, “You’re here.”
“The congee’s ready. Come eat.”
Xie Qingyun sat down, her expression somewhat dark. She nodded at Shi Yun. “Thank you.”
Shi Yun also pulled out a dining chair and sat across from her. She was not sure whether Xie Qingyun had seen it.
Her fingers tapped impatiently against the tabletop. She felt irritated.
She pressed her lips together and thought, Xie Qingyun did not like her anyway, so what exactly was she agonizing over? Maybe once Xie Qingyun got the agreement, she would sign it immediately and they could go through the divorce procedures tomorrow.
Besides, the divorce agreement was written very clearly. The house in Heyuan was jointly owned, and after the divorce, it would be sold and the proceeds divided equally according to market value. She had also transferred a villa of hers in the suburbs into Xie Qingyun’s name as compensation for this past year.
Speaking of which, she was clearly the one taking the bigger loss!
Shi Yun stopped hesitating. Since she had started, she might as well finish it. No day was better than today.
She abruptly stood up, strode quickly to the living room, grabbed the divorce agreement, and slapped it onto the dining table. Then she lifted her chin and looked at Xie Qingyun.
The agreement hit the tabletop, stirring up a gust of air, but Xie Qingyun did not even lift her eyelids.
She drank the congee in small mouthfuls. Finally, she raised her head and looked at Shi Yun. “Aren’t you eating?”
Shi Yun had not expected that question and was instantly stumped. She pressed her lips together. “I’ll eat later.”
“I don’t agree to the divorce.”
“The congee is delicious. Thank you.” Xie Qingyun pulled out a tissue and gently pressed it against her lips.
Shi Yun was stunned and did not react for a moment.
What was this?
Was this the sandwich rejection method that had once been popular online?
She stammered, “W-why?”
“You don’t even like me!”
What kind of person did that? She did not like her, but still would not allow a divorce?
“I never said I didn’t like you.” Xie Qingyun raised her head and met Shi Yun’s eyes. Her gaze was flowing and deep, like last night’s moon. “I like you very much, Shi Yun.”
“Very, very, very much.”
Shi Yun’s eyes widened instantly.
Huh?
Who exactly was playing her?
Her good friend of more than ten years would not lie to her.
As for this Xie Qingyun, she was a first-rate actress. Her words still needed to be verified.
Xie Qingyun took a sip of water, cleared her throat, and spoke again. “Ah-Yun, didn’t you used to like me very much?”
It was like some kind of hallucinogenic drug, carrying a charm that bewitched the heart.
Yes.
According to Chen Su, Shi Yun had once loved Xie Qingyun very much.
More than her own life—even to the extent that someone should have been found to make her drink talisman water.
A trace of confusion appeared in Shi Yun’s eyes.
Xie Qingyun struck while the iron was hot. She pushed the bowl aside, lightly brushed aside a strand of hair that had fallen over her forehead, and walked to Shi Yun’s side. One hand rested on Shi Yun’s shoulder, while the other touched her earlobe.
From bottom to top, her fingers stroked along the curve of Shi Yun’s ear.
Since childhood, Shi Yun had been afraid of being tickled, and behind her ears was even more of a sensitive spot.
She instinctively wanted to dodge, but instead, Xie Qingyun held her head in place, forcing her to look at her.
Xie Qingyun was not using much strength. Her knuckles continued moving forward, slipping through Shi Yun’s long hair.
Shi Yun suddenly remembered the tense feeling she had every time she went to get her hair cut, whenever the hairstylist touched her.
At this moment, that feeling returned.
She held her breath, unable to move.
“Ah-Yun, don’t you like me?” Xie Qingyun’s face moved closer and closer. The faint sweet peach scent rushed toward her, and the fuzzy texture of a peach seemed to be right before her eyes.
Just as those lips were about to fall, Shi Yun unconsciously closed her eyes.
