After Divorcing My Omega Ex-Wife - Chapter 6
Chen Su took her phone back and lightly patted Shi Yun’s shoulder. “Why are you spacing out?”
The two of them had just had a fight, and then Xie Qingyun had been hospitalized. It was hard for Shi Yun not to connect the two things.
Shi Yun snapped back to herself. She picked up the mineral water on the table, took a sip, and did not answer.
The chatter beside her did not stop. Shi Yun took out her own phone and started looking through the trending searches.
Her fingertip slid upward. The comment section had all kinds of opinions, with every sort of demon and monster crawling out. On one side were fans feeling sorry for Xie Qingyun, while on the other were rival fans dragging her down.
It had already become a battlefield where fans and passersby fought with words.
Shi Yun raised a hand and pinched the space between her brows. This was a sign that she was irritated.
She tapped into an account she had followed before, and one post entered her sight.
Qingqing, My Mountain: This unscrupulous company is exploiting my daughter. She attended a promotional event in the afternoon, then rushed home at night like she was racing to the next job. They couldn’t even bear to book one more night’s flight. They’re stingy to death.
Many people agreed with her.
Shi Yun found it funny. What if Xie Qingyun had been the one who wanted to come back early?
She read it aloud to Chen Su, but at the same time, she felt curious. “Does Zhongxing treat Xie Qingyun badly?”
“Fans definitely think it’s bad, but as someone half in the industry, I think it’s actually pretty decent. Xie Qingyun was discovered by Qian Can herself, and Qian Can treats her like her own daughter. She’s basically the legitimate, well-rooted direct line, you know? Besides, before, you…” Chen Su realized she had misspoken and immediately fell silent.
Shi Yun quickly caught the key point in that sentence. “What did I do before?”
“Anyway, Qian Can treats Xie Qingyun pretty well.”
Shi Yun rolled her eyes at Chen Su. “Has anyone ever told you that your ability to change the subject is terrible?”
“Have they?” Chen Su tilted her head, widening her eyes with a dumb, silly, deliberately cute expression.
After half a second of silence, it was as if crows had flown between the two of them.
Chen Su put away that foolish look and patted Shi Yun’s shoulder. “Anyway, it’s better than how Yaocui treats Lu Yi! You don’t even know, Yaocui…”
Once Lu Yi was mentioned, Chen Su had endless things to say. At the same time, she smoothly transformed into the fan perspective she had just been talking about.
“Stop, stop, stop. Cut it out.”
“Ai.” Chen Su sighed. She wanted this topic to pass as soon as possible, but Shi Yun kept pressing her.
Regarding Shi Yun’s past, Chen Su’s attitude was that since Shi Yun had forgotten, then this was heaven’s arrangement. There was no need to keep clinging to it, torturing herself and others.
Seeing that she could not avoid it, Chen Su spoke again. “Tell me honestly. Do you still have some feelings for Xie Qingyun?” As she said this, Chen Su stared into Shi Yun’s eyes, trying to see some trace of reluctance.
“Or maybe, psychologically, you’ve already forgotten, but physically, you can’t help wanting to get close to her? Like the kind of physical attraction you can’t control.” Chen Su realized her tone was a little aggressive, so she softened it. “If that’s the case, I want you to sober up a little. She really treated you terribly before.”
Shi Yun and Chen Su had been childhood friends. Along the way, Chen Su had seen all the things Xie Qingyun had done, and they made her skin crawl.
For a person like that, Chen Su could not even be bothered to waste words, but she could not stop Shi Yun from liking her.
Heaven had given Shi Yun a chance to start over. It would be such a pity if she did not seize it.
The room fell into silence. The awkwardness was broken by a knock on the door.
An employee placed a plate of sweets on the table, then consciously left the room.
Chen Su pushed the plate toward Shi Yun. “Try some. I specially hired this pastry chef.”
Shi Yun picked up a cookie and mechanically stuffed it into her mouth. She was digesting what Chen Su had just said.
After waking up from the car accident, everything about her and Xie Qingyun had come entirely from Chen Su’s mouth. But Chen Su had also been unwilling to say too much and had only given her a rough idea.
As a result, her impression of Xie Qingyun was not that bad. Xie Qingyun simply did not like her. What was the big deal?
Anyway, she did not remember it anymore. They could just divorce.
But after everything that had happened in the past day and night, she realized things were not like that at all. Between her and Xie Qingyun, things were tangled beyond cutting through.
After swallowing the cookie in her mouth, she said, “Tell me.”
Seeing her like this, Chen Su sighed. “Before, when Xie Qingyun went to attend an event, you insisted on going along. She didn’t want to see you and changed flights several times at the last minute.”
“And me? What did I do?”
Chen Su got angry the moment she mentioned it and rolled her eyes. “What did you do? You, Miss Shi, bought every single one of those flights. Too much money burning a hole in your pocket.”
“She was guarding against you like you were a sasaeng fan. You were still her wife in name, yet she treated you like that! She was simply too awful!” Chen Su waved her fist resentfully.
“And…”
“There’s more?!” Shi Yun’s jaw nearly dropped, and the cookie even slipped from her hand.
“She brought Shi Yu with her that day.” Chen Su had not wanted to bring this up, but now that the conversation had reached this point, she could no longer stop herself. Thinking that it might make Shi Yun completely give up, she felt there was nothing wrong with saying it.
At this point, both of them fell silent.
When Shi Yun was just over a year old, her parents divorced. Shi Yu’s mother appeared half a year later. At first, their relationship had been all right, until her stepmother had Shi Yu. Once a person had their own child, it was impossible for them to care as much about someone else’s.
As the saying went, once you had a stepmother, you had a stepfather too.
Afterward, Shi Yun’s situation in the Shi family was not very good. During every holiday, watching them act like a loving, filial family, she only felt like an outsider after spending time with them.
Even her marriage to Xie Qingyun had only fallen to her because Shi Yu had looked down on it at first.
No one had expected that two months after the marriage, Shi Yu would accidentally meet Xie Qingyun and fall for her at first sight. Xie Qingyun was also attracted to the lively Shi Yu, and Shi Yun’s position gradually became awkward.
The phone on the table vibrated twice. When the two of them saw the caller ID, they exchanged a glance.
Chen Su muttered, “She didn’t see the news, did she?”
Shi Yun sighed. “Forget it. We’ll deal with whatever comes. Let’s see what she wants to say.”
There had never been many secrets between her and Chen Su, so she simply answered the call in front of her.
“Hello? Aunt He.”
“Xiao Yun.” The drawn-out tone came through the phone.
Shi Yun immediately realized He Qiuyue wanted something from her. She glanced at Chen Su, turned on speakerphone, and placed the phone on the table.
“Your father saw the news online and threw a huge temper. When will you come home? Apologize to him and ease the relationship between you father and daughter.” Her words were full of persuasion, and someone who did not know better might think she had sincerely come to make peace.
Shi Yun gave a hum, indicating that she understood.
Seeing that Shi Yun seemed easy to talk to, He Qiuyue changed the topic. “Xiao Yu is also very worried about you and Qingyun. She was thinking of moving into your home to take care of you two.”
Chen Su pointed at the phone, her eyes wide, and lowered her voice. “This is way too shameless. She’s trying to move right in!”
Shi Yun patted Chen Su soothingly and did not bother arguing with He Qiuyue. “I understand. Let’s talk when I go home, all right?”
Seeing Shi Yun’s attitude, He Qiuyue thought she had agreed. She could not hide her joy and said “good” several times in a row, telling her to come over early tomorrow morning.
Without waiting for Shi Yun to confirm the time, she hung up.
“I really have seen too little of the world. They don’t know you two are divorced yet, right? And someone can still be this eager to become a third party?” Chen Su shook her head repeatedly. The affairs of Shi Yun’s family refreshed her worldview every day.
Shi Yun stuffed a cookie into Chen Su’s mouth and rolled her eyes. “Is this your first day knowing that?”
She patted the cookie crumbs from her hands, pulled out a wet wipe, carefully wiped her hands once, then stood and started walking out.
Chen Su grabbed her pant leg. “Hey, hey, hey. Where are you going?”
After that phone call, Shi Yun had long since lost the mood to drink. “I’m annoyed. I’m going back to the hotel first.”
Chen Su sighed. “Fine. Although I deeply despise your behavior of standing me up, if anything happens tomorrow, call me anytime. I’ll charge over immediately.”
Chen Su’s loyalty made Shi Yun feel a lot better.
Shi Yun booked a hotel in the city center, very close to Wildfire.
With a wave of her hand, she booked half a month first. She liked lively atmospheres.
She ordered room service at the hotel. After she came out from her shower, dinner had just arrived.
Thinking of tomorrow, she only ate a couple of bites hastily.
After becoming an adult, Shi Yun rarely returned to the Shi family home. Every time she went back, there would always be many pointless arguments. Gradually, her visits became once a month, then once every half a year, until now, when she absolutely would not show up unless there was a phone call.
After a long day of exhaustion, Shi Yun lay bored on the bed watching TV, wanting to find a movie to lull herself to sleep.
Unfortunately, even halfway through the movie, she still felt no sleepiness at all.
So she simply turned off the TV, closed her eyes, and forced herself to fall asleep quickly.
After turning over for the fifth time, Shi Yun could not bear it anymore.
She yanked off her eye mask, sat up in bed, and started fiddling with her phone.
The high-ranking trending search had already gone down, but its popularity remained high, hovering around the middle ranks.
The aggressive fans from the morning were gone, but now another group had taken their place.
Many fans began lamenting that Xie Qingyun had been alone all these years and hoped that someone could take good care of her.
Shi Yun frowned and liked the post.
Then she turned around, took a screenshot, and sent it to Chen Su.
[They don’t need to be anxious. Someone will be there soon.]
/
The next day, Shi Yun stood before the sink with two dark circles under her eyes and cursed under her breath.
In her heart, she secretly swore.
She would never stay up late again!
As usual, Shi Yun checked her messages after waking up. Unexpectedly, the first WeChat message was from Qian Can. She tapped open the chat box.
She did not know whether it had been cleared before, but the chat history was new.
There was only one message.
[Are you free today? Could I trouble you to come see Qingyun?]
[She murmured your name all night yesterday.]
The moment she saw the message, Shi Yun’s heart softened for an instant.
[Send me the address. I’ll go see her when I’m free.]
Out of courtesy, Shi Yun still replied.
Although their marriage had ended impulsively, the assets between the two of them had not yet been fully divided. They could not make things too tense.
[Don’t be like that. Can you come today?]
[Please, please.]
The other side sent over a cute cat sticker.
Shi Yun glanced at it, put down her phone, and carefully applied eye cream twice in front of the mirror.
Finally, she picked up her phone and typed for a while. In the end, she only sent:
[OK]
After thinking about it, since she was going to enter the entertainment industry later, she still could not make things too awkward with Qian Can.

The Shi family’s old residence was in the suburbs, about half an hour by car from the hotel where Shi Yun was currently staying.
In order to avoid Shi Lisheng finding fault with her, she set out twenty minutes early.
When she arrived at the old residence and parked the car, she could not enter the house.
The butler, under the fine-sounding excuse that Mr. Shi was meeting guests, stopped Shi Yun outside the door and only let her in when it was almost time.
Shi Yun sneered at this. What “meeting guests”? It was nothing more than an excuse to make things difficult for her.
Who would come visiting this early in the morning?
When Shi Yun entered the Shi home, Shi Lisheng had just finished washing up and had not yet appeared.
The butler led her to the living room. The first person she saw was He Qiuyue.
He Qiuyue had the maid bring over a plate of fresh grapes and pushed it toward Shi Yun. “Ah-Yun hasn’t come back in so long. Your father has been talking about missing you all the time.”
Shi Yun did not touch them and only thanked her.
Not wanting to waste too much time here, Shi Yun got straight to the point. “Aunt He, why did you call me home today?”
He Qiuyue gave a dry laugh. “Your father and I saw the news about Xiao Xie being hospitalized and were so frightened! Is Xiao Xie too busy with work? Is the pressure too great?”
“I think it’s because she simply doesn’t know how to take care of people!” Shi Lisheng’s voice came from behind.
He Qiuyue turned around and immediately went over to him, soothing him. “Ah-Yun is still young. It’s normal that she doesn’t know how to take care of people.”
This seemed like comfort, but in truth, it only fanned the flames and made Shi Lisheng even angrier.
“Still young?”
“She’s already in her twenties, yet she’s not even as sensible as Shi Yu.”
Shi Yun’s expression did not show it, but inwardly, she rolled her eyes. She had known these two would not have called her back for anything good.
He Qiuyue pulled Shi Lisheng into a seat. “You father and daughter rarely get to see each other. Talk properly.”
Shi Lisheng stood to the side, bristling with anger and ready to continue lecturing Shi Yun.
Shi Yun curled her lip and did not plan to respond. But He Qiuyue seemed to have lost all sense of tact. She grabbed Shi Yun’s hand and placed it on her own lap, then continued, “Ah-Yun, tell Auntie, what exactly happened between you and Xiao Xie? How did she end up in the hospital?”
Irritation surged in Shi Yun’s heart. She was considering whether to tell them everything about the divorce.
As He Qiuyue spoke, she raised her right hand and wiped the corner of her eye. “Xiao Yu was so heartbroken when she found out.”
At this point, Shi Yun finally understood why they had called her home today.
She smiled at He Qiuyue, then forcefully pulled her hand back and flicked her fingers in disgust. “Since Shi Yu likes her so much, why didn’t she marry Xie Qingyun herself?”
After half a second of silence, Shi Yun said as if suddenly enlightened, “Oh? Is it because she looked down on Xie Qingyun back then?”
He Qiuyue’s face went pale. “Ah-Yun!”
Shi Lisheng abruptly stood up and pointed at Shi Yun. “You!” Then he raised his hand.
Shi Yun lifted her face and instead leaned toward him. “Go on, hit me!”
For a moment, time stood still. He Qiuyue did not get up to stop him and simply let Shi Lisheng raise his hand.
Before the slap could fall, Shi Yun looked straight at Shi Lisheng, her eyes sharp. Unlike her usual rebelliousness, at this moment, she made him feel an inexplicable chill.
It was as if Shi Yun were a venomous snake lying low, hidden in the dark and ready to strike her enemy fatally at any time.
And this moment was when she was preparing to come out of hiding.
A shuffling sound came, accompanied by Shi Yu’s hazy voice. “Dad, Mom, what are you doing?”
Shi Yun was disdainful. This father of hers by blood really was weak. He could even be frightened by her gaze.
He Qiuyue pulled Shi Yu over. “Xiao Yu, why are you up so early? Didn’t you say you were exhausted after taking care of Xiao Xie all night yesterday?”
Shi Yun caught the key point in those words. She narrowed her eyes and looked at the mother and daughter, then turned her head toward Shi Yu.
She tilted her head and gave a cold laugh, questioning, “Is that so?”
Rather than anger, there was more self-mockery. She had actually believed Qian Can’s words so easily.
She had really thought Xie Qingyun had murmured her name all night.
She had really softened and prepared to go see her.
When clearly someone had kept her company all night, yet Xie Qingyun still had the nerve to shamelessly claim she had been thinking of her the whole time.
Shi Yun’s gaze was sharp as it stabbed toward Shi Yu.
Shi Yu hid slightly behind He Qiuyue and stammered as if preparing to answer, but her eyes were provocative. “That’s right.”
At that moment, the answer was no longer important. Shi Yun immediately took her bag, dug out the divorce certificate that had originally been stuffed into the inner pocket, displayed it to everyone, and finally threw it onto the table.
“Since you love picking up things I don’t want so much,” Shi Yun turned her head and looked at Shi Yu with a mocking smile, “I’ll grant your wish.”
