After Signing a Marking Agreement with the Abstinent Omega - Chapter 24
The artificial snow machine was set up on the crew’s set, roaring as it sent snow flying through the sky. Foam blew all over the entire set.
Xie Queyou stood behind the monitor, watching the current shoot together with Shi Ziyi. She had placed that cup of milk tea on a nearby table, planning to throw it away later.
But in the end, someone passing by noticed it, casually picked it up, and opened it. Before they could drink it, it slipped from their hand and spilled onto the ground.
The sweet, cloying scent immediately spread nearby. Just smelling it made Xie Queyou’s nose so uncomfortable that she wanted to sneeze.
She pinched her nose and endured the urge to leave, not wanting to delay the current progress.
“Director, the snow is blowing so much that I can’t even open my eyes. I can’t get the emotion right at all.”
In the shot, Han Si interrupted filming again. She loosened her heavy costume and lazily used her hand as a fan. “Why don’t we do another safety take?”
This was already the eleventh time. Xie Queyou frowned deeply.
Han Si, who was playing the fallen princess, had turned red from the heat. Hearing this, she directly collapsed in a shady spot, yet she was still making everyone repeatedly adjust a single blocking move, simply because “the camera on this side doesn’t make me look good.”
Xie Queyou took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed the disgust stirred up by the peach scent. But her expression was as sharp as a knife, as if she wanted to carve a wound into this person.
Wen Jing had used money to force Han Si in. What she wanted was probably to find Xie Queyou’s weakness. In order to lure the snake out of its hole, Xie Queyou had to endure this situation for now.
But she could not spread the problem evenly across every crew member. Under the blazing sun, every staff member was flushed from the heat. Xie Queyou looked at everyone and spoke.
“Rest for half an hour. We’ll shoot again when the sun isn’t this harsh. Everyone, go rest. Ice has been prepared for you.”
With a cold face, she walked forward. When she passed the trash can, she flipped her wrist and tossed the remaining half cup of milk tea into it, unable to stop herself from sneezing softly.
On the other side, Han Si caught this scene from the corner of her eye, and the corner of her mouth hooked into a mocking smile.
The scorching afternoon quickly passed, but the next few hours were no easier for the crew.
Han Si either complained that her makeup had not been done well, forgot her lines and called NG herself, or even slipped and fell to the ground when the scene was just about to end.
Everything had to start over again.
But every mistake she made had a proper reason. Although the crew had complaints, there was nothing they could do.
Xie Queyou stood behind the monitor. The snow machine had been working the entire time, and much of the snow flying through the air had landed on her. She was too lazy to brush it off. She simply stood there, watching Han Si NG again and again, her lowered fingers clenched until they turned white.
Only when the sky had completely darkened did this heavy scene barely finish. The crew was exhausted and sprawled out, suffering beyond words.
Especially Lu Yu. She looked like a soaked quilt that had fallen into water, leaving wet footprints with every step. Xie Queyou hurriedly walked over to support her.
“Change clothes first.” She handed her a cup of water.
Lu Yu downed the entire cup, pressed her dry lips together, and smiled bitterly. “I feel like I’ve ascended.”
“Hurry and take off the clothes, then go rest.” Xie Queyou helped her into the break room and sighed.
When they passed Han Si, Han Si stopped them. “Sorry, Xiao Lu. My condition today was too poor.”
Lu Yu waved her hand, not wanting to speak, and let herself be helped away to rest.
After Han Si failed to get anything from her, she went to apologize to the staff members one by one, bowing ninety degrees. She looked extremely sincere, making it impossible for anyone to find a reason to blame her.
It was completely different from her careless appearance while filming earlier.
Through the break room window, Xie Queyou looked at her suspiciously.
She could not figure it out. She really could not figure out what this person wanted to do.
After settling Lu Yu down, Xie Queyou came out of the break room.
But just as she stepped out, she heard a strange commotion suddenly coming from the outer edge of the set.
She looked toward the outside and saw an especially eye-catching support food truck slowly driving in.
“The crew next door came to visit!” someone shouted, instantly stirring up a huge wave.
“The crew next door? Is it Qing Mo? Did Yun Wangqing come?!”
“She’s here, she’s here! She even brought cold drinks for everyone! She said they’ve been neighbors for so long, so she came over to say hello.”
“Oh my god, why is she so nice!”
The lifeless crew instantly boiled over. Everyone, including Lu Yu, who had just gone into the break room to change clothes, rushed over excitedly.
It was not because of anything else. They were only a small crew. Aside from Han Si, who had been forced in, the other actors did not even have proper trending topics to their names. Yun Wangqing personally coming to visit their crew was no different from a deep-water bomb.
Lu Yu darted out of the break room. Her originally exhausted face immediately changed expressions, and she squeezed over excitedly.
The gust of wind she brought with her sent the unsettled snowflakes flying up, covering Xie Queyou’s face.
Xie Queyou stood in the dim shed, looking at the woman not far away, surrounded by the crowd. Her breath seemed to catch a trace of that thin, lingering cold fragrance.
Yun Wangqing wore an extremely simple long dress. She seemed to have just finished filming, and her makeup had not yet been removed. Her whole person carried a particularly sharp beauty.
Even amid the noisy crowd, she was still breathtakingly beautiful. Her expression was cold, yet she carried just the right amount of politeness, nodding to every person who greeted her.
She was completely different from the Yun Wangqing Xie Queyou usually saw.
Xie Queyou’s heart uncontrollably skipped a beat.
She instinctively lifted her foot, wanting to walk over, but then suddenly remembered the relationship between the two of them.
In public, it was best to pretend they did not know each other.
The hand she had reached out was restrained and withdrawn again. Xie Queyou lowered her long lashes, hiding the flash of emotion in her eyes. She kicked away a small stone by her foot, turned around, and went into her own break room.
Her nose, which had been irritated by the peach scent during the day, was still sensitive. On top of that, the artificial snow had been flying around the set the whole time. Her nose had long since been overwhelmed and was red.
Xie Queyou sat down, buried her face in her palms, and let out a long sigh.
So tired. Today’s progress was completely behind schedule. If Han Si still kept this uncooperative attitude afterward, she really would have to consider replacing her.
She just did not know what method Wen Jing had thought of to deal with her.
Xie Queyou was very irritated, and the hateful peach scent made her even more annoyed.
The original owner had left behind a huge pile of trouble and then washed her hands of it, leaving Xie Queyou alone to solve everything. The more Xie Queyou thought about it, the angrier she became.
She could not help sneezing again.
From now on, she had to stay far away from peaches.
“Did you catch a cold?”
Suddenly, an extremely gentle female voice broke through the stuffy air. At the same time, what drifted over was cool cedar.
Xie Queyou was startled and abruptly raised her head, meeting a pair of calm, warm, ink-dark eyes.
Yun Wangqing stood at the doorway, slightly bending down and looking at her with concern.
Those eyes seemed to be soaked in all things, her pupils reflecting Xie Queyou’s stunned appearance. Seeing Xie Queyou’s dazed look, she curved her eyes, casually closed the door, and locked it with a click.
Xie Queyou hurriedly stood up. “Why—why are you here?”
She was flustered and then remembered that Yun Wangqing had a cleanliness obsession, so she quickly took half a step back, afraid the scents clinging to her body would bother her.
Yun Wangqing’s eyes darkened for a moment, then quickly returned to normal. She continued smiling.
“I sent you messages, but you didn’t reply, so I came to find you.”
So Yun Wangqing really had come to find her!
Xie Queyou suppressed the smile at the corner of her mouth, her body swaying slightly. “Sorry. I was watching the progress all afternoon and didn’t check my phone. I’ll reply to you right now.”
Yun Wangqing burst into a soft laugh. That one smile seemed to dissolve every grievance.
Xie Queyou could not help it; the tips of her ears turned slightly red.
“I’m already here now, so don’t look at your phone.” As she spoke, she took a step closer to Xie Queyou, approaching her step by step.
The cedar scent on her body also broke through the restriction of distance and swept toward Xie Queyou.
Xie Queyou keenly caught a faint trace of intimate ambiguity within it. Her brows furrowed slightly, and she spoke worriedly. “Miss Yun.”
“Your pheromones don’t seem to be enough.” Yun Wangqing approached her and tore off the double-layer suppressant patches on her neck, revealing her secret to Xie Queyou.
In an instant, cool, ambiguous cedar surged over like a tide, blurring Xie Queyou’s vision.
“Tomorrow, I have to return to the city. I’ll probably be staying there for a few days…” These words seemed extremely difficult to say. Just saying them made Yun Wangqing’s face turn red.
She moved a little closer. The hazy cold fragrance on her body was enough to completely engulf Xie Queyou, possessively washing away all other scents on her.
Yun Wangqing’s voice also carried moisture, along with a few hints of expectant longing, scratching at Xie Queyou’s heart like a cat’s paw.
“So, Ah You, sorry to trouble you. Help me.”
