After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 36
From the moment she saw Shen Su, Lu Yan’s gaze never lingered on Sheng Suyu again.
She stared at the little rabbit clutched in Shen Su’s palm, her long-silent heart beating wildly. She parted her lips, her voice trembling slightly: “No.”
Sheng Suyu’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Lu Yan, do you even know what you’re saying?”
An Omega who had willingly followed her for three years, seeking nothing but affection and dreaming of being marked by her, was now saying in front of a stranger that she wasn’t her Omega.
Sheng Suyu’s “White Moonlight,” Song Xingran, was standing right there. Lu Yan cutting ties should have made her happy; she could finally shake off this sticky, troublesome “plaster.”
Yet, for some reason, she was furious. But because the person standing next to Lu Yan was an S-rank Alpha, she was powerless. Sheng Suyu could no longer see the old admiration and obsession in Lu Yan’s eyes.
Lu Yan’s gaze remained calm as she repeated herself without a ripple in her voice: “I am not your Omega.”
This cold attitude gave Sheng Suyu the illusion that Lu Yan had never loved her at all.
Lu Yan turned her head, her gaze softening. She carefully hooked her pinky finger with Shen Su’s and asked softly, “Can you take me away?”
“Of course.” Shen Su cast a cold glance at Sheng Suyu, took Lu Yan’s hand, and led her away.
This feeling of being ignored was something Sheng Suyu hadn’t experienced in years, but with her first love by her side, she could only endure it and suppress her temper.
Lu Yan obediently followed Shen Su into the back seat of a car, where a partition screened them from view. Shen Su released Lu Yan’s hand at the right moment and smiled gently. “Sorry, I grabbed your hand in the heat of the moment…”
“It’s okay. Thank you.” Lu Yan blinked, her gaze lingering on Shen Su almost longingly.
Shen Su felt a bit embarrassed by the stare and coughed into her hand. “Is she the lover you mentioned? She seems… not very good to you.”
Lu Yan denied it immediately. “She is not my lover.”
She hadn’t known that this charming online friend was actually the White Moonlight she had pined for all these years, so she had never told Shen Su that she was using Sheng Suyu as a substitute. She had only mentioned she had “someone.”
“Alright.” Shen Su, satisfied that the “breakup” was successful, moved on and held up the rabbit charm. “Then let’s reintroduce ourselves! Hello, I’m Shen Su. My Little Green Book nickname is Little Sugar Man.”
Lu Yan squeezed the little rabbit in her hand and whispered, “I am Yan Lu. My real name is Lu Yan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Looking into Shen Su’s beautiful peach blossom eyes, which were full of tenderness and reflected her own smiling face, Lu Yan’s heart raced.
“I’m sorry you had to see that joke today…” Lu Yan rubbed her neck shyly.
“Not at all. If I had come out sooner, you wouldn’t have been troubled.” Shen Su sat very close to Lu Yan. She let out a faint sigh, her warm breath dusting Lu Yan’s neck.
Lu Yan felt her blood boiling. Her scent gland, covered by a blocker, seemed to stir with excitement. However, the feeling soon passed. Lu Yan had just spent a heat alone not long ago; the next one wasn’t due for two months.
“Where should I drop you off?” Shen Su wanted to take her home directly, but it felt too abrupt and unrealistic.
Lu Yan lowered her head. “Just that subway entrance ahead.”
She suddenly realized the gap between her and Shen Su. The excitement of her “online friend being her long-time crush” evaporated. Lu Yan lived in a sixteen-square-meter rented room in a resettlement area; Shen Su lived in a wealthy villa district. Furthermore, she had “been with” Sheng Suyu.
She thought Shen Su was a good person who had helped her twice; she couldn’t drag her down.
The first time Shen Su helped her was in university. Lu Yan had been pinned in a corner by a malicious Alpha and was nearly marked when Shen Su saved her. To Shen Su, it was just a casual act of justice. She had simply smiled gently at Lu Yan, pulled her up, and dragged the Alpha away. Later, Lu Yan heard that Alpha was expelled and jailed.
Since that day, Lu Yan had been silently following her. Today was the second time.
Lu Yan bowed her head in self-deprecation, feeling unworthy. As the car stopped, Shen Su asked warmly, “Do you need me to walk you home?”
Images of walls covered in advertisements, dim hallways, and a dilapidated door flashed through Lu Yan’s mind. She shook her head violently. “No, no, thank you.”
Shen Su didn’t insist, only nodding slightly. “Alright. Stay safe. Message me when you get home.”
Lu Yan stepped out and watched the car drive away. Passersby began to whisper.
“Damn, that car is a limited edition, worth tens of millions.” “You can’t even afford a hundred-thousand-dollar car, why do you care?” “Hey, look at that person who got out.” “Doesn’t look like a rich person. Could it be…?” “Eighty percent chance!” “So pretty, yet doing that kind of thing…”
Lu Yan pretended not to hear and walked toward Building 39. The voices faded, replaced by the sounds of wailing. Resettlement housing occasionally had funerals. Lu Yan took a detour and entered Room 420 on the 4th floor.
She hadn’t been back in a while, and the table was covered in dust. Her landlady happened to pass by. “Oh, little girl, where have you been? Haven’t seen you in forever.” The landlady’s gaze was unfriendly; she had seen a wealthy young Alpha looking for Lu Yan before.
“I went… home for a while,” Lu Yan smiled neutrally.
Lu Yan cleaned the room and sat on a plastic stool, remembering to message Shen Su.
【Sugar, I’m home.】
Shen Su, still in her car, replied immediately with a cat emoji. She then told her driver: “Home.”
Lu Yan was her mission target, but she had to handle this world’s other issues—like convincing her parents to stop making her manage the family business. As an S-rank Alpha in this world, she faced much higher expectations.
When she arrived home, her mother was reading on the sofa. “Finally back! You wouldn’t let me pick you up—I thought you had a date!” Shen Su rested for a while and woke up at 4:00 PM. She checked Lu Yan’s latest post:
【Unable to reach the moon, I am content just watching from afar.】
Shen Su’s eyelid jumped. Content? She worried Lu Yan might go back to the scumbag. But since Lu Yan had followed her today, Shen Su knew she held the winning hand.
Shen Su considered three plans:
Date Lu Yan and then “be a scumbag” to make her lose faith in love (Rejected: Lu Yan might endure it).
The same as the last world (Hard to pull off without her finding a new substitute).
Keep her at a distance (Also leads back to Plan 2).
She decided to take the initiative and messaged Lu Yan: 【Are you free this weekend?】
Lu Yan took five minutes to reply: 【Sorry, just saw this. I am free.】
Shen Su smiled and sent an invitation: 【Free to accompany me to an art exhibition?】
Lu Yan replied instantly with a “Good” cat emoji.
By the time Saturday arrived, Shen Su had picked out a bouquet of white roses and messaged Lu Yan: 【I’m coming to pick you up.】
As she approached the subway entrance, she saw several men in black forcing Lu Yan into a car.
System: It’s Sheng Suyu.
Shen Su didn’t have time to think. She followed the car.
Inside the car, Lu Yan saw Sheng Suyu in the back seat. “You…”
“When did you hook up with the Shen family’s S-rank Alpha?” Sheng Suyu gripped Lu Yan’s chin, her eyes dark.
Lu Yan whispered, “Song Xingran is back. Why are you looking for me?”
“Why can’t I? You refused to leave when I told you to get out. You can’t just come and go as you please.”
“But you were the one who approached me first…” Lu Yan’s eyes reddened.
Sheng Suyu moved her hand to Lu Yan’s neck. Lu Yan trembled. “Don’t forget, I gave you a chance to leave the second day, and you chose to stay. This time, you won’t escape.”
“What are you doing?”
“Taking you back where you belong.”
“Sheng Suyu,” Lu Yan used her full name for the first time. “We have nothing to do with each other. You said it yourself.”
Sheng Suyu pulled Lu Yan into her arms. Lu Yan struggled but was overpowered. Sheng Suyu tore off Lu Yan’s scent blocker without mercy. Lu Yan cried out.
Sheng Suyu rubbed Lu Yan’s gland and sniffed. “Smells good. Just like Xingran, a floral scent.” She lowered the partition and released her wine-scented pheromones.
Lu Yan’s eyes widened in terror. “Don’t, please…”
The driver interrupted: “Miss, we’re being followed. A black car.”
Sheng Suyu pushed Lu Yan away and growled, “Shake them off.”
But because of the System’s map, the driver couldn’t lose Shen Su. Sheng Suyu sneered at Lu Yan. “Is that car for you? I thought you landed a top Alpha, but that’s a cheap car.”
Lu Yan’s voice was quiet. “I liked you. I didn’t want anything from you. I’ll pay back the rent for the five months I stayed at your place. I left your gifts in that house.”
Sheng Suyu choked her. “What are you trying to say?”
“Let’s break up.” Lu Yan didn’t even know if “breakup” was the right word for what they were.
“Now you regret it?”
Lu Yan stopped struggling and whispered, “The person you love is back. Why should I stay? To humiliate myself?” The person I love is also back, and I don’t want to be entangled with a low-tier version of her.
“Because of Xingran?” Sheng Suyu mocked. “Are you playing hard to get?”
“I’ve said enough. I want to get out.”
“This is the highway. You can’t.” Sheng Suyu looked out the window. “Drive back to Jialv Xinyuan. If that person isn’t an owner, they won’t get through the gate.”
She didn’t believe someone in a cheap car could afford a house in that elite district.
