After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, a Cold Omega Stole My Heart - Chapter 22.2
“Shut—” She was about to command her to be quiet, but at that moment, the door was burst open. Xie Shuyun ran in, followed by a large group of bodyguards, filling the living room in the blink of an eye.
“Lingxue, are you—” Xie Shuyun’s question died in her throat. Cheng Lingxue, the only one standing, had a back as straight as a pine tree; she didn’t look like she had been mistreated at all.
Instead, the girl on the sofa clutching her mouth, crying and laughing with her face smeared like a mess, and the man lying spread-eagle on the floor, eyes rolled back, seemed to be the ones with the problem.
Seeing Cheng Lingxue wiping her hands, Xie Shuyun guessed the man had been taken down by her. She gave him a look of disgust and waved for the bodyguards to drag the “roadblock” away. Finally, her eyes landed on the items on the side table.
Though the image was blurred by water, since it was wet and had been picked up, it must have been very important to Cheng Lingxue.
With this thought, a surge of guilt overwhelmed Xie Shuyun. She walked hesitantly to Cheng Lingxue’s side, scratching her cheek and murmuring with her head down:
“I’m here… but it seems… I’m a bit late… things seem to be mostly settled…”
Cheng Lingxue looked at the dejected girl before her. She had just had a high fever, and her face still carried a sickly flush, yet she was willing to come for her sake.
“But I’ll tell you, the people outside were all suppressed by my bodyguards. Not one got away. They didn’t look like good people—smoking and chewing betel nut. How did street thugs like that get into a luxury neighborhood like this?”
The girl chattered away, gesturing with her hands about everything that had happened outside, hoping to smooth over Cheng Lingxue’s furrowed brow.
Cheng Lingxue’s mouth parted slightly. she didn’t know how to describe her feelings. Should she be happy this person came to help? Or should she be angry that she ran out while sick? She felt her heart, which had been cold and lonely, give a slight throb.
Finally, she closed her eyes briefly and opened them, pointing to the man being dragged into the corner by the bodyguards:
“He brought those bodyguards. Cheng Wenchi… my Second Uncle…”
As she said those last three words, a sense of shame rose within her. she didn’t want to admit she shared blood with him.
“Huh? …Second Uncle…” Xie Shuyun’s mouth dropped open. She looked at Cheng Lingxue and then at Cheng Wenchi. Wait, so she beat up her own uncle? This… this fierce?
She glanced at the girl on the sofa, who was clutching her arms and looking around in terror. She guessed this was Cheng Lingxue’s relative too—the uncle’s daughter?
On the sofa, seeing so many people arrive, Cheng Mengmeng didn’t know their identity, but seeing the crowd of well-trained men in black suits, she knew they weren’t ordinary. Surely Cheng Lingxue wouldn’t dare act up in front of them.
Especially the dashing girl standing at the front. Cheng Mengmeng swallowed and quickly tried to tidy her appearance, though she had no idea how smeared her face was.
Standing up, she hurried over to Xie Shuyun’s side, her voice laced with tears as she pointed at Cheng Lingxue and said pitifully:
“Can you help me call the police? I… Cheng… my cousin, she’s gone mad! Malicious assault! You all saw it, my father is still lying there!” As she spoke, she reached out to grab Xie Shuyun’s arm.
Dumbfounded by this move, Xie Shuyun quickly dodged the touch. she looked awkwardly at Cheng Lingxue, who was watching her with a meaningful look. She hadn’t expected this person to suddenly cling to her!
Seeing Cheng Mengmeng still trying to approach and even winking at her, Xie Shuyun got goosebumps. She dodged behind Cheng Lingxue and said with righteous indignation:
“Miss, please keep your hands to yourself. Shouldn’t you check on your father first? Since I walked in, you haven’t gone near him once.”
Xie Shuyun’s blunt words caused a look of embarrassment to flash across Mengmeng’s face. She glanced at the corner where her father lay, rolled her eyes, and then rushed over, letting out a piercing wail:
“Daddy! Daddy, wake up! Mengmeng is scared, get up and protect me…” Despite her tragic crying, not a single tear fell; her eyes weren’t even moist.
What they didn’t know was that Cheng Wenchi had regained a bit of consciousness. His fingers twitched, and the white light in his eyes finally cleared slightly. Just as he tried to sit up, this howl almost made him choke.
Though his vision was blurred, he saw a distorted, ugly face rushing toward him with its mouth wide open. The shock was too much; his eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness again.
“Uh…” Xie Shuyun stared in disbelief at the girl. Seriously, wouldn’t calling an ambulance be more practical? Why just scream?
She instinctively looked at Cheng Lingxue to confirm if the uncle’s daughter had an intellectual disability, but Cheng Lingxue looked away. Xie Shuyun thought she saw a hint of embarrassment in her eyes.
This was quite a surprise to Xie Shuyun, but if those two were her relatives, she’d probably have the same reaction. Too embarrassing.
At that moment, Qin Yu walked in and said to Xie Shuyun: “Eldest Miss, the police have arrived. They’ve finished questioning the people outside and are coming in now.”
Before Xie Shuyun could speak, Cheng Mengmeng looked over, eyes full of joy. She rushed to Xie Shuyun like a whirlwind, her hands behind her back as she said coyly:
“I knew you were a good person, actually calling the police to get me justice.”
Suddenly receiving a “good person card,” Xie Shuyun’s heart rejected it. Seeing the “Eldest Miss, you actually have a taste for this trash? When did you become so unselective?” look from Qin Yu made her even more frustrated.
She came here to be Cheng Lingxue’s backup—why did she harvest such a “bad peach blossom”? Xie Shuyun decided she couldn’t let this continue. She coughed and said seriously:
“Miss, I’m afraid you’ve misunderstood. I did call the police, but the report was for illegal trespassing on private property.”
“You—” Cheng Mengmeng’s eyes went wide with disbelief.
Just then, four or five police officers entered. The lead captain took in the situation. She clearly knew Xie Shuyun’s status, as her tone was very polite:
“Miss Xie, we’ve taken the people outside away. The people inside will be taken back to the station for statements. Of course, if you have other evidence, you can provide it to us.” The captain paused and looked at Cheng Lingxue: “This young lady is a primary party, so she will likely need to come to the station as well.”
“I’ll go. I have other evidence,” Cheng Lingxue said. She turned to one of the Betas still in the corner: “Auntie Wang, please provide the police with a copy of the living room surveillance files.”
“Surveillance footage is perfect; that will be powerful evidence. My subordinates will record the damages to the villa and any missing items, so we need to inspect the whole house.”
“Of course. Please,” Cheng Lingxue said, making a gesture for them to enter.
The captain waved, and the officers dispersed. Two went to Cheng Wenchi, patting him and confirming he was unconscious. They called an ambulance, and he was soon taken away; naturally, an officer went with him to prevent any escape.
Another officer walked toward Cheng Mengmeng. She still looked shell-shocked, her trembling finger pointing from Xie Shuyun to Cheng Lingxue: “Xie… your name is Xie. Don’t you hate Cheng Lingxue the most? Why? Why!” Her questions grew sharper and sharper, piercing the eardrums. Not wanting her to continue embarrassing herself, Cheng Lingxue turned to the captain:
“Sorry to trouble you. This is my cousin. She’s likely suffered a shock and is mentally unstable.”
“I see.” The captain nodded understandingly; they had ways of dealing with such people. Cheng Mengmeng was essentially carried out by the officers. As she left, her piercing voice echoed back:
“Cheng Lingxue! You actually said I’m mentally unstable? You’re the crazy one! You’re in this together! This is a false accusation! False accusation! Waaaah—”
After half an hour, the police left. As for Cheng Lingxue’s statement, there was no rush; she just needed to go to the station within three days.
The matter was finally concluded. Cheng Lingxue turned to ask about Xie Shuyun’s health: “Xie Shuyun… your body—” She stopped mid-sentence because Xie Shuyun’s gaze was already hazy. The pale, sickly red on her face had turned a deep crimson, and her eyes were watery. Her body swayed, but Xie Shuyun seemed unaware of her condition, just smiling blankly at Cheng Lingxue.
“You have a fever again?” Before her fingertips could even touch Xie Shuyun’s forehead, the girl leaned forward and collapsed onto Cheng Lingxue’s shoulder.
“Ah… sorry… I think I’m a bit dizzy…” Xie Shuyun blinked, her voice muffled and raspy.
Feeling the scorching heat on her shoulder, Cheng Lingxue’s eyes lowered. She knew the fever was back. She was about to call Qin Yu, but the butler had already seen the situation was wrong and had the car brought around immediately.
In the next second, a dense and wild aura of pheromones erupted from Xie Shuyun. The scent of Rum quickly filled the entire living room.
The Alpha bodyguards covered their noses, their faces strained. Alpha pheromones naturally repelled each other, and since Xie Shuyun was SS-rank, even if she hadn’t fully matured, the impact was massive. However, they held their professional ground and didn’t retreat.
Aside from them, the person most affected was the only Omega present: Cheng Lingxue. Unlike the sweet fruit wine scent from before, this time the pheromones scrambled to enter Cheng Lingxue’s body. She didn’t hate it; instead, it felt even more mellow and rich.
Cheng Lingxue’s cheeks also turned red. She felt like she was drunk, swaying slightly. Triggered by Xie Shuyun’s pheromones, her own glands began to react. If she weren’t wearing the anti-bite device, they would likely erupt to dance with Xie Shuyun’s rum pheromones.
A faint vein appeared on her forehead as she tried to compose herself and push Xie Shuyun away. But in the next second, a hot, wet sensation touched her neck, making her body freeze and her pupils tremble.
Xie Shuyun was actually licking her!
Not only that, she could feel the other’s canine teeth—which were slowly sharpening—grazing her neck. Accompanied by hot breaths and a sense of absolute aggression, it felt as though she would be bitten in the next second.
