After the Fake Young Master Ran Away with His Child, the Villain Went Crazy - Chapter 14
When Jing Ruan got off work, he saw several cars parked by the roadside. The person leading the group walked toward him as soon as he saw him.
“Young Master Jing, Mr. Yan sent us to pick you up.”
After saying this, the other party reached out to guide him, leaving no room for discussion. Jing Ruan followed him over and got into the car heading to the Yan residence.
The car drove for an hour before arriving at its destination.
When they reached the entrance of the Yan family manor, Jing Ruan went through security, then changed into another vehicle. Only after another half hour did they arrive at the villa where Yan Yi He usually lived. Bodyguards stood guard at the main entrance.
Jing Ruan walked inside alone.
After entering the villa, the servants attended to him as he changed shoes, then led him to the villa’s rear garden, saying Mr. Yan was there.
Jing Ruan could clearly feel that the servants’ attitude toward him had improved by a tiny bit. At least they no longer treated him like air the way they had before.
When he reached the back garden, Yan Yi He was fishing. The water in the pond was murky, making it impossible to see the bottom. Jing Ruan walked to his side and saw two small fish already caught in the bucket beside him. He did not know what kind they were.
Jing Ruan sat down on the ground beside Yan Yi He.
“Was the matter resolved?”
Yan Yi He placed the fishing rod on the rod holder and asked him.
“It was resolved. They looked like they wanted to strangle me, but they still had no choice but to lower their heads and explain in humble voices which contracts were important and had to be signed, and how much profit would be lost otherwise.”
“They broke everything apart and explained it to me piece by piece.”
Jing Ruan moved a little closer, then took the initiative to lie across Yan Yi He’s knees. The gaze he directed at him carried worship.
“Then did you sign them?”
Yan Yi He asked.
Jing Ruan nodded. He had signed them.
After hearing this answer, Yan Yi He did not ask anything else. He only continued fishing quietly. Jing Ruan remained lying across his knees, keeping himself docile and obedient.
They fished until the moon had almost risen above the treetops. Jing Ruan’s stomach began to growl. The rumbling sound was especially clear in the quiet night.
Jing Ruan had been picked up as soon as he got off work and had not eaten dinner yet. He also did not dare mention dinner. The more he interacted with Mr. Yan, the less he dared act presumptuously.
Yan Yi He naturally heard it too. He patted Jing Ruan’s shoulder, signaling for him to get up from his knees. Only after Jing Ruan got up did he stand.
“Let’s go. I’ll have the servants make you something to eat.”
After dropping those words, Yan Yi He walked back. Jing Ruan followed behind him. Yan Yi He was tall, and their shadows printed on the ground, one large and one small, made the difference between them especially obvious.
Jing Ruan felt that the person in front of him was like a dangerous mountain shrouded in mist. He had lured Jing Ruan inside and tempted him to climb upward.
For some reason, Jing Ruan suddenly quickened his steps and walked to Yan Yi He’s side. He reached out his index finger and hooked Yan Yi He’s finger.
Yan Yi He’s fingers were not what one would expect from someone of his status. His fingertips were covered in calluses, like marks left behind after thousands of rounds of training.
Yan Yi He stopped and looked at him. The lights in the garden were not bright, so Jing Ruan could not clearly see the expression on Yan Yi He’s face.
Gathering his courage, Jing Ruan went from hooking his finger to sliding his own fingers into that broad palm, interlacing their hands.
Yan Yi He said nothing. His gaze only lingered noticeably on their joined hands for a moment before he continued walking forward.
Jing Ruan’s heart thumped wildly. He did not know why, at that moment, he had suddenly remembered what his teacher had said. The thought had come to him, and he had done it.
It had been completely subconscious.
The two of them entered the villa dining room hand in hand. After they sat down, Yan Yi He picked up a tablet, tapped it a couple of times to open a page, and handed the tablet to Jing Ruan.
Jing Ruan took it and looked. The screen was full of pictures of food.
Just like eating outside, he could order dishes here too. Whatever he wanted to eat, they could make. Jing Ruan chose two dishes he liked. He always cherished food, so he would not order too much. He ordered according to what suited his appetite.
Yan Yi He had already eaten dinner, so he did not order anything. He only had the servants bring him a cup of clear tea. Once the kitchen received the order, they began preparing the dishes. Seven or eight people worked at the same time, doing their best to serve the food as quickly as possible.
In less than half an hour, the dishes were brought out.
Jing Ruan picked up his chopsticks and began eating. Yan Yi He sat opposite him and drank tea. Jing Ruan ate very quickly and finished in only a few minutes. When he was hungry, he ate like a starving ghost. When he was not hungry, he was a little better.
The steward had corrected him many times, but this fear was carved into his bones. It would be difficult to change overnight.
After eating, Jing Ruan wiped his mouth with a napkin. A servant also served him a cup of clear tea. Jing Ruan copied Mr. Yan and took a sip.
It tasted a little astringent, with a faint flavor.
Seeing that he had finished eating, Yan Yi He stood and walked toward the stairs. His residence was on the third floor, reached by circling up the spiral staircase. Jing Ruan followed behind him.
Yan Yi He’s bedroom was very large. The balcony of the bedroom was entirely glass, so lying on the bed allowed one to take in all the scenery outside. But at the same time, there was one bad point: there was no privacy. If someone stood on the opposite villa’s floor, they would be able to see this side clearly.
But then again, no one would dare spy on Mr. Yan.
Yan Yi He went to wash up by himself. He did not pay any attention to Jing Ruan. Jing Ruan did not know how the other party planned to arrange him, so he could only stand there blankly, listening to the sound of water from the bathroom. He stood for half an hour before Yan Yi He finally came out.
He had changed into pajamas, and there was still dampness in his hair.
He looked at Jing Ruan, who was still standing there foolishly, and said,
“Find a servant to take you to wash up.”
After saying this, Yan Yi He ignored him.
Jing Ruan left the bedroom to find a servant. The servant took him to the second floor to wash up. After washing up, Jing Ruan changed into pajamas and walked alone in slippers toward the third floor.
Yan Yi He’s bedroom door was half-closed. Jing Ruan walked in. After he entered, Yan Yi He was already lying down with his eyes closed, asleep. The bedroom was pitch black, and it took Jing Ruan quite a while after entering to adjust to the darkness.
Jing Ruan groped his way to the bedside. He did not dare get onto the bed and sleep beside Yan Yi He. Fortunately, there was a carpet beside the bed. When Jing Ruan first came in, he had seen a thin blanket for resting near the sofa, so he went and brought it over.
In this way, curled up, he lay on the floor beside Yan Yi He’s bed, covering himself with the thin blanket as he fell asleep.
In an unfamiliar place without any sense of security, Jing Ruan should not have been able to sleep. But for some reason, not long after he closed his eyes, he fell asleep.
Perhaps Yan Yi He himself was synonymous with a sense of security. As long as Jing Ruan did not anger him, Yan Yi He was his backer.
When the breathing below the bed became steadier and steadier, Yan Yi He opened his eyes. This was the first time someone had entered his room and fallen asleep with him.
This creature had not the slightest bit of danger. He was stupid, clumsy, and greedy. His only good point was that he was obedient. Yan Yi He only needed to move his hand to crush him to death.
But it was precisely this kind of person.
In that crowded banquet full of people coming and going, Yan Yi He had picked him out at first glance. The moment he saw Jing Ruan, Yan Yi He had felt that raising a little pet like this certainly would not be boring.
Yan Yi He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
When Jing Ruan woke the next day, there was no one on the bed anymore. Jing Ruan rubbed his eyes, lifted the blanket, and got up from the floor, then went to look for Mr. Yan.
Only after asking the servants did he learn that Mr. Yan was having breakfast in the dining room. Jing Ruan went to wash up in the place from yesterday. After washing up, he went to the dining room. Inside, Yan Yi He was eating while reading the newspaper.
Jing Ruan walked over and sat opposite him.
As soon as he sat down, a servant came over with a tablet and gently asked what he wanted to eat for breakfast. Jing Ruan said he wanted the same as Mr. Yan.
The servant quickly brought breakfast to the table. Jing Ruan was not very hungry, so his eating manners were a little better. He clumsily imitated Yan Yi He as he ate.
Yan Yi He noticed, but he did not find it annoying. Instead, he felt the little pet’s clumsy movements were somewhat pleasing.
At that moment, five people entered through the doorway. They were the people who usually followed Yan Yi He. They lived in the other villas, each person occupying one villa.
All five of them had already eaten before coming over.
Jiang Zhi strode over. As if looking at some novelty, he walked to Jing Ruan’s side and circled him once.
“Yi He, you let him stay overnight in your villa yesterday?”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. What kind of magical power does this person have?”
“You like him that much?”
Dou Cheng and the others walked over and sat down at the dining table one after another. Yan Qian’s expression looked unpleasant, and his gaze toward Jing Ruan was unfriendly.
After hearing Jiang Zhi’s words, the others all observed Yan Yi He’s attitude. Seeing that he said nothing, Jiang Zhi wanted to reach out and pinch Jing Ruan’s cheek.
They all knew Yan Yi He did not like other people touching his things.
But what they had not expected was that before Jiang Zhi’s hand could pinch Jing Ruan’s cheek, Jing Ruan stood from his seat.
There were people sitting on both sides, surrounding him, so he could not walk away. Jing Ruan simply bent down and crawled under the table, making his way to Yan Yi He’s side.
After crawling over, Jing Ruan sat down beside Yan Yi He. The seats on this side were all empty, and Jing Ruan sat to Yan Yi He’s left.
“Can you push my breakfast over for me?”
As if nothing had happened at all, Jing Ruan asked the person who had just been about to pinch his face to help push over the breakfast he had not finished yet. He still wanted to continue eating.
The others were stunned by Jing Ruan’s bizarre move.
“Fuck.”
Jiang Zhi could not help cursing.
Chen Fu, however, silently pushed the plate over. Jing Ruan gave him a friendly smile, but after smiling, he immediately withdrew it, changing faces so quickly it was almost instant.
The others looked at Jing Ruan eating with different expressions.
After Yan Yi He finished eating, he placed his chopsticks on the chopstick rest.
Jing Ruan kept the same pace as him, imitating him by placing his chopsticks on the chopstick rest as well. When Yan Yi He wiped his mouth, he also picked up a napkin and wiped his mouth.
“To the study.”
Yan Yi He stood, preparing to walk toward the study.
Jing Ruan knew they were definitely going to discuss matters, so he walked to Yan Yi He’s side and took his hand. Standing on tiptoe, he spoke to Yan Yi He.
“Mr. Yan, can I go to work?”
Jing Ruan asked him.
Yan Yi He rubbed his hair and said, “Go.”
Jing Ruan turned and walked back. When he passed Jiang Zhi, he deliberately made a hanged-ghost face at him, rolling his eyes upward and sticking out his tongue. After doing it, he immediately ran off.
Jiang Zhi was also a young master. When had he ever suffered this kind of teasing? He immediately gave Yan Qian a look, signaling for him to fall back a step and make a phone call to give orders.
He knew Yan Qian had long since found this person displeasing.
Yan Yi He walked ahead, fully aware of the undercurrents behind him. The group took the elevator up from the first floor.
After leaving the elevator, just as they were about to reach the study door,
Yan Yi He stopped.
He had been considering along the way whether he should stop it.
He knew that the people behind him were all testing him, testing Jing Ruan’s position in his heart. After all, with Yan Qian as the precedent before them, they would also worry that this person might infringe on their interests in the future.
But the chessboard had already begun.
He should not pay attention to a few harmless little matters.
