After the Fake Young Master Ran Away with His Child, the Villain Went Crazy - Chapter 8
Jing Ruan carefully looked around the interior of the yacht. The staff inside had only just learned the news not long ago. A few young maids secretly sized Jing Ruan up.
“He’s the one who latched onto Mr. Yan?”
“You’re joking, right?”
The maids looked at Jing Ruan as he touched this and looked at that, their eyes filled with unwilling jealousy. In their eyes, aside from a face that was somewhat good-looking, Jing Ruan truly had nothing going for him.
His appearance was not even as good as those female companions the young masters and gentlemen brought onto yachts for amusement.
Jing Ruan looked through several yachts, inside and out.
This could be considered the first real gift someone had given him in the true sense. He treasured it greatly, so he was determined to choose the one he liked best.
Jing Ruan leaned against the deck railing and gazed at the sunset in the distance. The sunset was beautiful. Jing Ruan wanted to share this joy with someone, so he turned his head and spoke to the bodyguard following him.
“Bodyguard Brother, look, the sunset is so beautiful. This is my first time seeing the sunset over the sea. Is the scenery here this pretty every day?”
Jing Ruan chattered on and asked many questions.
His eyes were brighter than the stars that had just appeared in the sky.
The bodyguard merely stood guard quietly. He did not say any unnecessary words, nor did he offer any opinion.
After Jing Ruan talked himself tired and saw that the bodyguard did not respond to him, most of his excitement faded. He sat down right there on the deck, gripping the cold railing tightly with both hands and resting his chin on it.
The sea breeze stirred the hair on his forehead.
Jing Ruan stared blankly at the night sky. The happiness money brought him had only lasted for one afternoon. After that, he no longer knew what to do.
He had dreamed of wealth and luxury, yet after gaining wealth and money, he did not know what he should do. His horizons were only that wide. Once all the things he wanted had been satisfied, it seemed he could no longer think of anything else he wanted.
Thinking of this, Jing Ruan grew a little sad.
He missed his grandmother. If his grandmother were still here, she would definitely teach him. His grandmother was very impressive. She knew everything.
The bodyguard faded into the night like a statue.
He looked at the thin young man, watching him go from cheering with joy all afternoon to becoming lonely and dejected as night fell. He was too young, and there were too many temptations before him.
All it would take was a little coaxing from someone, and he would walk down a road of no return. Even adults would struggle as they walked down that path, let alone a young man who did not understand much.
Jing Ruan stayed lost for a long time. He picked up his phone and took a photo of the night sky. After thinking about it, he sent it to Tao Wan and Yan Jin. Only last did he send one to Yan Yi He.
He thought that if Tao Wan and Yan Jin asked where he was, he could follow that topic and tell them he was on his newly acquired yacht.
Jing Ruan had no idea that his behavior was just like a child who had gotten a new toy and excitedly run out of the house to show it off to his friends.
Tao Wan and Yan Jin did not reply. Jing Ruan stared at his phone for a long time. Finally, the phone rang. Jing Ruan opened it and saw that it was Yan Yi He calling him.
Jing Ruan felt a little disappointed, but he still answered.
Yan Yi He asked him which one he had chosen.
Jing Ruan told him he had chosen the largest one.
Yan Yi He laughed at him again from the other end of the phone.
Jing Ruan was a little angry. What was so funny? Big ones were valuable. What was wrong with choosing the valuable one?
Fortunately, Yan Yi He seemed to know Jing Ruan’s thoughts through the phone. He hung up and made a video call instead. Jing Ruan answered.
In the video, Yan Yi He was sitting on a rattan chair on a balcony, holding a chess piece in his hand. The lighting was dim. He was playing chess with himself.
“You’re playing chess alone? How do you play alone?”
Jing Ruan asked him.
Yan Yi He held a chess piece in each hand. His right hand placed a black piece, and his left hand followed by placing a white piece. His gaze stayed on the board, and he did not lift his head.
“Why can’t a person play alone? Isn’t being alone good? At least you don’t have to guess what someone else is thinking.”
Jing Ruan thought to himself that when someone played chess alone, they knew every move they would make. Then was he trying to let his left hand win or his right hand win?
“Being alone sounds so boring.”
Jing Ruan murmured quietly.
After Yan Yi He heard this, he smiled.
“You feel bored because you have no goal. Didn’t your teacher and steward set a goal for you? What, do you already find it meaningless now?”
When Jing Ruan heard him mention this matter, his face and ears flushed. He did not know how Yan Yi He could bring up seducing him so lightly, making it sound as ordinary as eating and drinking, and even say it right in front of him, the person involved.
“I’m too stupid. I can’t learn it.”
Jing Ruan sank his head lower, leaving only his eyes exposed.
Yan Yi He set down the chess piece in his hand. He looked at Jing Ruan in the video, his gaze clear and open, without the slightest evasion.
“That’s because you don’t like me. If you don’t like someone, of course you’ll find it meaningless. Do you want me to help you? Only if you like me will you be willing to listen seriously to your teacher’s lessons.”
Jing Ruan only had a vague concept of liking someone. From childhood to adulthood, the only knowledge he had come into contact with had been novels, and incomplete ones at that. What he understood as liking someone was two people staying together for a long, long time, all the way until they grew old and died.
Just like the companionship his grandmother had given him.
“Then if I like you, how long can you stay with me? Can you stay with me until I die?”
Jing Ruan had come to this world all alone and become the young master of a wealthy family. His first reaction had been that he had money now, and with money, he could eat and drink well.
But once he had everything, Jing Ruan began to feel a little lost. So perhaps the best way for people to lose the enchantment of something they had yearned for was to possess it.
Once they possessed it, they stopped longing for it.
Yan Yi He had fulfilled his wishes too quickly.
“I don’t know either, but I probably won’t get tired of you in the next year or two. So I can give you that year or two.”
Yan Yi He thought in his heart about how long his interest might last. After estimating a rough amount of time, he gave this reply.
“All right. A year or two it is. You have to remember to give me lots and lots of money. That way, after you can’t stay with me anymore, I’ll still have money, and I can go find the next person to stay with me.”
Jing Ruan made his request.
Yan Yi He held the phone and stood, walking toward the bedroom.
As he walked, he considered the request Jing Ruan had made.
The little mouse would give the owner his affection, and Yan Yi He would give money according to the other party’s performance.
This game-like transaction was very fair.
Wasn’t raising a pet exactly like this? After all, no one was willing to raise a pet that did not get close to its owner or like its owner. At least, he was not willing to.
“All right.”
Yan Yi He agreed.
Jing Ruan chatted idly with Yan Yi He for a few more sentences. When it reached the point where the other party was about to hang up, Jing Ruan could only say all right as well.
After the sea breeze blew for a long time at night, it carried dampness. Jing Ruan could not quite stand it. The cold made his joints uncomfortable, so he got up from the deck and prepared to go back.
The bodyguard followed behind him. He had heard everything discussed in the video call, but he had no right to express an opinion.
This was an unfair transaction.
Once a person handed over their heart, no amount of money could make up for it. For someone like Mr. Yan, who had no heart, handing one’s heart into his hands would only end with a broken heart.
Moreover, what Jing Ruan did not know was that anyone who had stayed by Mr. Yan’s side would not have anyone dare to be with them even after separating. Everyone feared the Yan family. No one had the courage to provoke Yan Yi He for the sake of a man.
After he was abandoned by Yan Yi He, there would be only one outcome for him.
He would possess endless wealth that others could never count, then grow old alone.
Jing Ruan returned home. The steward was waiting at the door to greet him.
“Steward, today I got a yacht. It’s super huge! So pretty.”
Jing Ruan shared this news with the steward enthusiastically.
After hearing this, the steward was also somewhat surprised in his heart. Jing Ruan had been favored by Yan Yi He too quickly, and he had also obtained things too quickly. The whole process had gone too smoothly, to the point that it made them worry.
What was the purpose?
Could he gain these things merely because Yan Yi He had a tiny bit of interest in him?
“Is that so? Then congratulations, Young Master. Have you had dinner? Is there anything you’d like to eat?”
“I ate already. I ate on the yacht.”
The steward helped him take off his jacket and took out slippers from beside the shoe cabinet.
Jing Ruan lowered his head and watched the steward put slippers on him. Jing Ruan thought that the steward treated him well too, but Jing Ruan did not dare interact too much with the steward.
He was afraid the steward would discover that he was not his real young master.
His identity had been stolen.
“Will you have lessons tonight?”
Seeing that the young master was happy today, the steward did not want to dampen his mood, so he handed the choice to him.
In truth, this was a roundabout way of saying there would be no lessons. He knew Jing Ruan did not like these courses. Every time, he listened until he fell asleep sprawled over the desk.
“Yes!”
Jing Ruan thought of what he had promised that evening, so he said very seriously that he wanted lessons. His posture made it seem as though he were about to work hard and study properly again.
The steward was a little surprised, but he still arranged for the teacher to come over.
After Jing Ruan washed up, he waited in the study.
The teacher arrived half an hour later.
“Teacher Lu, good evening.”
Jing Ruan greeted the teacher. The teacher teaching him was surnamed Lu, named Lu Yu, twenty-eight years old. Jing Ruan had heard that his current profession was piano teacher, and that the steward had spent a great deal of money to invite him over.
Lu Yu looked at Jing Ruan below him, whose eyes were full of eager expectation. He thought that the little young master was rather more proactive today. Earlier, the little young master’s person had instructed him not to push the course too quickly, to teach from the beginning and use as plain language as possible so Jing Ruan could understand.
This was also the first time Lu Yu had encountered such a strange thing.
He had never seen a patron pay money to give lessons to someone who wanted to attach themselves to him, and the lessons were even about how to seduce him. Truly, in this vast world, there were all kinds of oddities.
If it were anyone else, after clearly knowing the other party’s purpose, they would have long stopped letting that person come close. After all, no one wanted someone they spent time with to approach them with a motive, while even having someone behind them teaching and guiding them.
“Today’s lesson is about details. If you want to win someone over, you have to observe the details. Look at what he likes to eat, what his habits are, and judge his joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness from his expressions.”
“When the other person is in a good mood, whatever you say will seem interesting. When the other person is in a bad mood, whatever you say may hit the muzzle of his gun. So we need to learn how to distinguish the other person’s emotions.”
Jing Ruan earnestly copied the notes on the blackboard.
The steward had wanted to use a more high-tech teaching method, but unfortunately, Jing Ruan could only adapt to this one, so he let him be. He had the teacher write the key points on the blackboard, while Jing Ruan took his notebook and pen and wrote them down below by himself.
“But how do I tell? Mr. Yan seems to be smiling most of the time. He looks like he has a very good temper.”
Jing Ruan asked in confusion.
Lu Yu had never interacted with the other party. This kind of situation tested a person’s ability to adapt on the spot. Clearly, Jing Ruan did not possess that ability. After thinking for a while, Lu Yu came up with a method suited to Jing Ruan’s abilities.
“You can reach out and hook Mr. Yan’s finger with yours. If he doesn’t reject you, then be a little bolder and hold his hand.”
“If he doesn’t let you touch him or hold his hand, then withdraw on your own and don’t bother him. If he lets you touch him, that proves his mood is all right. If he uses that to tease you and joke with you, then that proves he is in a very good mood.”
After all this time, this was the first lesson Jing Ruan had listened to seriously. He felt that Teacher Lu was truly amazing.
The lesson taught each day was short. The focus was to make sure he actually listened.
After class ended, Jing Ruan walked the teacher to the main gate.
At that moment, Jing Ruan noticed a black car parked near the villa courtyard. A tall man stood beside the car door, one hand in his pocket, a cigarette between his lips, looking over in their direction.
Jing Ruan saw the teacher walk toward that car.
The moment the man saw Teacher Lu walk over, he put out the cigarette.
Jing Ruan watched the teacher leave. After returning to the villa and seeing the steward, he remembered the scene just now and asked,
“Steward, is that Teacher Lu’s lover?”
The steward understood whom Jing Ruan was asking about. When they hired someone, they naturally investigated the person’s background thoroughly. Without some real ability, they would not have spent such a high price.
“One of Teacher Lu’s lovers.”
The steward answered.
When Jing Ruan heard this, his eyes suddenly widened, and his mouth fell open into an O shape from shock. Teacher Lu’s image instantly became towering and grand in his heart.
Jing Ruan quickly asked the steward again.
“How many lovers does Teacher Lu have?”
“Four.”
Jing Ruan was utterly shocked. He walked back as if his head were heavy and his feet were light.
Teacher Lu was mighty!
