After the Fake Young Master Ran Away with His Child, the Villain Went Crazy - Chapter 16
When the servants in the courtyard saw Jing Ruan walking in unsteadily, they hesitated again and again, wondering whether they should help him. The matter of the kitchen staff being replaced was still fresh in their minds. Besides, they could see that the bodyguard who had followed Jing Ruan was standing outside the courtyard, and even he had not reached out to help.
In the end, an older maid walked over to support him. As she held him, she glanced toward the third floor and discovered that Mr. Yan was standing on the balcony, watching. She was so frightened that her hand loosened for a moment. But since she was already here, she could only steel herself and continue.
The maid led him into the villa hall. Instead of taking the stairs, they directly took the elevator to the third floor. She helped him to the room where Mr. Yan lived and brought Jing Ruan to sit on the bedroom sofa.
After helping him sit down, the maid hurriedly left.
Just as she was about to walk out the door,
a command came from behind her, carrying neither sorrow nor joy.
“Find a doctor.”
There was no fluctuation of emotion in his voice.
Yet for no reason, it made one feel a chill of fear.
The maid received the order, said yes, and left.
Jing Ruan leaned against the sofa. He felt that sitting was exhausting, so he simply pressed against the sofa back and lay down. He stayed flat on his back. He was not wearing shoes, and he dirtied the sofa, leaving several gray marks on it.
Jing Ruan stared at the ceiling, his gaze blank. Only when the corner of his vision caught someone walking toward him did Jing Ruan tilt his head and look over.
It was Yan Yi He. Other than him, it could not be anyone else.
Jing Ruan stared into Yan Yi He’s eyes.
The person before him stood so high above him. He would not have the slightest emotional fluctuation because of any wretched state Jing Ruan was in. Just like he had said, Jing Ruan was only a pet he raised.
Something kept around to amuse him.
Jing Ruan was actually a person full of emotion. Because he lacked love too much, and because he had received too few things, once he possessed something, whether good or bad, he cared about it deeply.
“Mr. Yan, did you deliberately not answer my calls?”
Although Jing Ruan was asking him, his tone already understood this fact. After the first call, when Yan Yi He hung up, the later calls could no longer connect. There had also been the bodyguard’s abnormal behavior afterward. Jing Ruan had thought about it for a long time on the way back before finally understanding this question.
“Did I do something wrong? Is that why you wanted to teach me a lesson?”
Jing Ruan could not think of anything deeper. He only believed this was Yan Yi He giving him a lesson, though he himself did not know what he had done wrong.
Jing Ruan saw that the person opposite him kept silent. Perhaps Yan Yi He felt there was no need to answer him.
The person standing there and looking at him coldly was like an icy, merciless stone statue in a temple. His gaze calmly watched the believers coming and going below, kowtowing and kneeling in worship. He listened to the joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness of the believers below, then remained unmoved.
Jing Ruan had also once kowtowed and prayed.
He was a fence-sitter. As long as someone said it worked, he would worship it.
“All right, then. You didn’t hear it this time, but next time you must pay attention, okay? Also, I ran so much this time. I ran for several hours, and my feet don’t even feel like mine anymore. Can you give me a little more money to make me happy?”
Jing Ruan did not receive an answer, so he turned his head back and stared blankly at the ceiling, speaking to himself.
The doctor arrived very quickly. He examined Jing Ruan, cleaned and dressed his wounds, and told him to rest for a while. He also said someone had to massage his muscles, since he had overexerted himself.
The third floor of the villa was brightly lit. Jing Ruan’s screams did not stop the entire time. Earlier, when the doctor cleaned his wounds, he had gritted his teeth and endured it. But later, during the massage, he could not bear it. It hurt and ached, simply not something a human could withstand.
Jing Ruan felt the massage was too terrifying. He did not want it anymore. Several times, he tried to get up, but each time, he was held down. Jing Ruan quickly opened his mouth and said not to massage him anymore, that he would not do it.
But no one listened to him. Instead, two more people were added to hold him down and prevent him from getting up and escaping. Jing Ruan was so miserable that he kept crying. He had never suffered like this before.
He was like a fish at the mercy of others.
The torment continued until one or two in the morning before the others finally withdrew.
During this whole time, Yan Yi He was like an invisible person.
After everyone left, Jing Ruan vaguely heard the sound of water. He forced his eyes open and only then saw light spilling out from the bathroom in the bedroom.
Mr. Yan was taking a bath.
Jing Ruan was terribly exhausted. Later, he had cried for a long time too. As soon as he closed his eyes, he fell asleep. Halfway through his sleep, he felt a little cold, but later, that feeling disappeared.
Wearing pajamas, Yan Yi He sat beside the sofa. He lowered his head and looked at the sleeping person on the sofa. Because Jing Ruan lacked a sense of security, both his hands were clutching the blanket tightly. His back was pressed tightly against the sofa back, and his body was slightly curled.
The tears on the eyelashes of the person on the sofa had not yet fully dried.
When he cried and screamed, that voice could be heard across three floors, from top to bottom. Its penetrating power was extremely strong.
So very pitiful.
Yan Yi He stretched out his hand and gently touched Jing Ruan’s eyes. His fingertip brushed away the tear still hanging at the corner of Jing Ruan’s eye.
Jing Ruan slept until he woke naturally. When he woke, he realized his whole body was sore. It was already noon, and the heavy feeling in his body had lessened considerably. He supported himself with his hands and sat up, sitting there to clear his head.
As he was waking himself up, Jing Ruan saw that there was still a maid in the room. She was guarding near the door. Seeing that he had awakened, she walked over and asked what Jing Ruan wanted to eat.
Jing Ruan casually named two dishes he had eaten before. After the maid wrote them down, she asked whether he had any other needs.
Jing Ruan shook his head and said no. He lifted the blanket and got up from the sofa. After getting up, he prepared to go to the second floor to wash up, but before he had taken two steps, the maid realized his intention.
“Young Master Jing, your feet are injured. Please sit and rest. We will take care of the rest.”
After saying this, the maid quickly walked out the door. There were more maids waiting outside, and three of them followed her in. They carried washing supplies. One was responsible for getting hot water, one for wringing out a towel, and another held toothpaste and a toothbrush while waiting.
This was the first time Jing Ruan had enjoyed such treatment, and he felt somewhat overwhelmed by the favor. Under the maids’ careful care, he washed his face and brushed his teeth. Another maid came over with a bottle of something he did not recognize and applied it to his face.
After he finished washing up, a maid pushed in the food.
Once Jing Ruan finished eating, a maid brought over a wheelchair and had him sit in it. Jing Ruan was pushed to the villa entrance by the maid.
Outside the villa entrance, four black cars were parked. A bodyguard walked over and took over pushing Jing Ruan’s wheelchair from the maid. Jing Ruan looked around. Aside from the bodyguard pushing his wheelchair, who was the one who had brought him back yesterday, the rest of the bodyguards were all new faces.
“Where’s the other Bodyguard Brother? Did he catch the thief?”
Jing Ruan remembered the bodyguard from yesterday. He did not know whether the other party had recovered his wallet.
The bodyguard was not responsible for answering questions. He only pushed him to the door of the second car. After pulling the car door open, he directly helped Jing Ruan into the back seat.
The driver in the car had also changed. It was not the one who usually picked Jing Ruan up and sent him around. Jing Ruan did not pay attention to these small details, because he felt that far too many people worked for Mr. Yan. So many that he could not count them. He also had no right to choose.
The car drove for three hours, from the manor to the busy city, then from the busy city into the forest. Jing Ruan did not know where they were taking him.
They drove all the way into the foot of a mountain in the forest. At the foot of the mountain, the car stopped. The bodyguard took the wheelchair down from the car, and Jing Ruan sat in it. Then Jing Ruan saw the bodyguard alone push him into the woods.
Jing Ruan looked back and discovered that everyone who had come with them had left. Fear rose in Jing Ruan’s heart. He did not know what exactly they were going to do.
The bird calls in the forest sounded eerie.
The wheels of the wheelchair rolled over the leaves on the ground, making rustling sounds. The farther in they went, the more Jing Ruan felt the hair on his body stand up. Based on the sixth sense he had developed from his past survival experience,
there were people hiding in this forest. Quite a few of them, too.
Ahead in the forest was a patch of bushes that looked somewhat abrupt. The bodyguard pushed him to that spot, then abruptly lifted the plants covering it. Jing Ruan was shocked to discover that a heavy motorcycle was hidden underneath.
The motorcycle showed signs of use. It had clearly been deliberately placed here. Jing Ruan carefully looked around at their surroundings.
The bodyguard helped him into the sidecar of the motorcycle, folded up the wheelchair, and tied it behind them. The key had not been removed from the motorcycle. One only needed to get on, turn the throttle, and drive forward.
There was a small display screen on the motorcycle.
The person driving only needed to follow the route guidance on the display screen. Jing Ruan looked at the route on the screen. The route was very simple, and it tested a person’s ability to adapt. It would not show how many meters they needed to go. Instead, it directly displayed a straight arrow symbol.
When it was time to turn, the symbol would suddenly change.
Jing Ruan held the seat belt tightly. The vehicle turned left and right, almost making him dizzy. The forest looked the same everywhere, making it very easy to lose direction.
They drove around in the woods like this for an unknown length of time before the vehicle finally stopped. After stopping, Jing Ruan discovered two people standing ahead with guns, guarding the area.
The bodyguard brought him down and pushed the wheelchair over.
After they went over, the two people searched them.
They did not find anything during the search. Only then did Jing Ruan remember that his phone seemed to be gone. He had not seen it since waking up.
After the body search, they went through a machine inspection.
Once the inspection confirmed there were no problems, the two people made two hand gestures toward the air. Then the bodyguard pushed Jing Ruan forward.
After ten steps, the ground suddenly opened, revealing an underground passage.
Below the opening were layer upon layer of stairs. The bodyguard directly carried Jing Ruan on his back and took him inside.
Inside the underground passage, there was only light from lamps on the walls. The light was weak, barely enough for them to see the path beneath their feet. Ahead was darkness, and nothing could be seen. They could only take one step and see one step.
Time became blurred. They had nothing with which to check the time, and Jing Ruan did not know how long they walked. Only when they reached the end did Jing Ruan finally see three people standing ahead.
One of them stood out from the crowd and appeared especially tall, faintly familiar. Once they drew closer, the light ahead became bright, shining so harshly that Jing Ruan’s eyes felt uncomfortable. He closed his eyes and waited to adjust.
When he had adjusted and opened his eyes, he was already beside those three people. The bodyguard carried him to the side of the tallest person.
That person was Yan Yi He. He was wearing a mask.
Jing Ruan recognized him.
There were two other masked people he did not know. Yan Yi He said something to those two people in a language Jing Ruan did not understand. One of them pressed his earpiece. Very soon, a man dressed in black came out from inside, pushing a wheelchair over.
The other party not only pushed over a wheelchair, but also handed him a mask. Jing Ruan followed instructions and put it on. After he put it on, Yan Yi He pushed the wheelchair and walked inside with the others. The bodyguard stayed at the door and waited.
Jing Ruan could sense that the other two people were sizing him up.
After they entered, the light inside was dim. It became impossible for anyone to recognize anyone else clearly.
Everyone inside wore masks. Jing Ruan watched as Yan Yi He pushed him to the elevator entrance. The elevator required both iris and fingerprint recognition to open. Once the elevator opened, Yan Yi He pushed the wheelchair inside.
The elevator doors slowly closed.
Jing Ruan looked around inside the elevator. Aside from the lights used for illumination, there was nothing. There were not even floor buttons.
Jing Ruan quietly asked Yan Yi He,
“What kind of place is this? What are we doing here?”
With a ding, the elevator doors opened very quickly.
Yan Yi He pushed him outside. Outside was a long corridor. Yan Yi He walked to the door of a room, and, as before, they entered after going through identification.
Only after entering did Jing Ruan see clearly that this was an observation room.
From the observation room, they could see everything happening downstairs.
For some reason, Jing Ruan suddenly thought of Yan Yi He’s bedroom. His bedroom was the same way. The wall-facing side was entirely glass, allowing one to see everything outside clearly.
