OO Romance—The Yuri Of All Yuri! - Chapter 1
Imperial Feast Delicacies was a private, custom medicinal cuisine restaurant known to everyone in Jing City’s elite circles.
Its storefront was not large, but inside, the place wound and curved like a maze. There were bamboo groves and flower gardens, small bridges over flowing water, artificial mountains stacked from real stones transported from Suzhou, and paths paved with pebbles flown in from Changbai Mountain. In Jing City, where every inch of land was worth gold and high-rises stood shoulder to shoulder, it was like a hidden paradise beyond the mortal world.
The restaurant’s hardware was impressive, and its service was even more outstanding. Their medicinal meals were customized on the spot according to each guest’s physical condition. Delicious, nourishing, and a perfect way to show off the guest’s distinguished status.
The only problem was that the restaurant had just six private rooms of varying sizes, each hidden within the bamboo forest. There were no open tables, and they did not allow takeout. At most, they could serve six tables of guests at a time.
With seating this limited and medicinal cuisine of such high quality, getting a reservation was far from easy. It was common to wait two or three months and still fail to secure a table.
Some people grew impatient and tried to pressure the restaurant into making exceptions for them. But those who issued threats one day would find themselves in trouble the next. To this day, no one had managed to uncover just who stood behind Imperial Feast Delicacies.
If you could not beat them, you could only follow the rules. No matter who they were among Jing City’s wealthy and powerful, everyone had to obediently make a reservation and wait in line. The longest wait could even stretch to an entire year.
Anything that required waiting often became precious, whether it was a person or a meal.
When someone finally secured a hard-won reservation, they usually brought someone important with them—a relative, a friend, an honored guest, or a lover. The meal was usually harmonious and pleasant, and even those who got drunk rarely caused trouble.
There had once been someone with poor drinking manners who made a fool of themselves. That person was immediately blacklisted by Imperial Feast Delicacies and permanently banned from the restaurant, becoming a laughingstock in the circle.
After that, the atmosphere at Imperial Feast Delicacies became even quieter. Apart from birdsong, the fragrance of flowers, and the rustling of leaves, human voices were almost impossible to hear.
But today, something seemed to have gone wrong.
Amid the faint fragrance and scattered shadows, hysterical curses rang out from one of the private rooms.
“Who allowed you to come here?! I finally managed to ask Su Yi out, and you ruined everything! Get out! Get out!!!”
The voice that answered her was soft and gentle. “I only came because I needed your signature urgently. I absolutely didn’t mean to disturb you and Miss Su. It’s mainly because President Xue’s side…”
“Who cares about some contract you got by selling your body? The Cen family hasn’t fallen that low!”
“I didn’t—I didn’t sell myself. I don’t think the company is in trouble either. I only…”
“Get out!”
Smash! Crash!
Several pieces of bone china shattered.
Bian Lu’s frail figure stumbled out of the room in a sorry state. Holding the wooden stair railing with one hand and covering her bleeding forehead with the other, she turned back and said, “I left the contract here. Please sign it when you have time. President Xue’s side…”
“Get out—!!!!!”
A pale celadon vase was hurled out. Bian Lu could not dodge in time, and it slammed hard into her back. The pain almost sent her rolling down the wooden stairs.
She bit her lip and said nothing more. Limping, she descended the stairs, followed the pebble path around the small bridges and flowing water, crossed the courtyard, and left Imperial Feast Delicacies.
The moment she stepped out through the double vermilion doors, it was as if one world had ended and another had begun. Inside the doors was a place detached from the dust of the world. Outside them was the noise and clamor of mortal life.
The small open space in front of the restaurant was Imperial Feast Delicacies’ private parking lot. It was neatly packed with luxury cars. Beyond the parking lot, neon lights flashed, vehicles streamed by, and smog obscured the night sky. Everything was gray and hazy, and even breathing felt as if it carried dust into her lungs.
A bright red Spyker drove past Bian Lu with blatant arrogance. The window was rolled down, and a familiar figure—one that made her heart clench instinctively—lounged in the driver’s seat.
Su Yi held the steering wheel with one hand, her elbow resting against the car window. Between her fair, slender fingers was a long, thin cigarette made for women. The cigarette holder was pale pink, the ember flickering at the end. Her crimson lips took a light drag, and her languid eyes swept indifferently toward Bian Lu, who stood outside the car in such a miserable state.
Huff—
Those red lips exhaled without the slightest courtesy. The choking blue smoke was blown humiliatingly into Bian Lu’s face. She coughed, and the wound at her temple throbbed faintly from the sting of nicotine.
“What are you doing?”
She frowned and glared at Su Yi. Su Yi showed no remorse for her rudeness. Instead, she let out a faint scoff, her gaze full of disdain.
“A good dog doesn’t block the road.”
Dog? She had called her a dog?
Bian Lu felt that she should have been angry, but faced with that devastatingly beautiful face, she somehow did not even have the strength for anger.
Su Yi truly did have the right to look down on her. Su Yi was a cloud high above the world, while she was moss growing in some dark corner. Even if she rotted into mud, it would happen silently. No one would ever notice, and she had no right to appear beneath the sun.
No. What right did she have to compare herself to Su Yi at all?
It was like a droplet comparing itself to the vast ocean, or a clod of dirt comparing itself to a towering mountain. There was no comparison to be made.
Su Yi had always been so unique, so arrogant, so disdainful of everything. It was not only because her family background was unattainable, but also because her beauty was so vivid and bold. It was beauty that came from both bone and skin, from the inside out—not shallow, not cheap. Even holding a cigarette that an omega should not touch, she did not look wrong in the slightest.
She was someone omegas could dream of day and night yet never surpass, and someone alphas flocked to in relentless pursuit.
Su Yi pulled out a tissue and tossed it onto Bian Lu’s face. The faint scent of red wine was Su Yi’s fragrance.
“Hurry up and wipe yourself clean. You’re dirtying my eyes.”
Su Yi stepped on the accelerator and drove away, leaving Bian Lu choking on exhaust fumes.
For one instant, Bian Lu had actually thought Su Yi was showing concern for her.
As expected, she had overthought it.
Su Yi had always been proud. The kind of person she looked down on most was someone like Bian Lu. How could she possibly care?
Bian Lu looked down at the tissue in her hand, white as snow. She wanted to wipe the blood from her temple, but then, suddenly, she no longer wanted to soil such a clean tissue.
It was clearly tissues that helped people wipe away filth. So why did people still despise them afterward?
Had you all forgotten?
Originally, it too had been pure and flawless. The dirt that stained it did not belong to it. It belonged to you.
She carefully put the tissue away. As she walked, she tucked it into her bag. Just as she stepped out of the parking lot, an ear-piercing honk rang beside her.
“Move! Hurry, move!”
A security guard ran toward her, anxiously waving his hand. She lifted her head and saw a refrigerated transport truck veer out of control, mount the curb, and come charging straight at her!
Bang!
A wash of blood flew before her eyes. She seemed to see the familiar Spyker stopped by the roadside. The car door opened, and someone ran toward her.
She wanted to see who it was, but no matter how hard she tried, she could not make it out.
She was sent flying and crashed to the ground. All she could see above her was the dim night sky.
There was no starlight.
Ring, ring—ring, ring—
Someone’s alarm clock was going off.
It was so noisy that Bian Lu’s head felt like it was splitting apart. She opened her eyes, rubbed her throbbing temples, and sat up. Squinting through one eye, she tried to find the offending alarm clock, but after looking around, she could not spot it.
Wait.
Where… was this?
A low-key yet luxurious European-style bed. A floor-to-ceiling window that covered an entire wall. Silk curtains trailed onto the floor, like the hem of an elegant lady’s gown. Embossed wallpaper. A chandelier with a simple yet gorgeous design.
Bian Lu climbed off the bed in confusion. Her gaze swept over the genuine leather sofa, the camel-hair rug, and the carved openwork furniture. Then she twisted the golden door handle and stepped outside.
Beyond the door was not the living room she had imagined, but a lavish walk-in closet.
Rows of transparent glass cabinets stood neatly inside, each one filled with clothes, hats, jewelry, shoes, and bags.
At the center of the closet was a circular full-length mirror, and high-definition silver mirrors were embedded in the ceiling as well.
In a daze, she walked over.
The person reflected in the mirror was not the face she had looked at for more than twenty years.
It was a face so stunning it could overturn the world—one she would not even dare dream of having.
Su… Su Yi?!!!
In disbelief, she touched the mirror. She could not believe it was really a mirror. Could it be a video wall? Was someone playing a trick on her?
She covered her own face, and the Su Yi in the mirror covered her face too.
She pinched her cheek, and the Su Yi in the mirror actually pinched her cheek too???
This was impossible. How could this be possible?!!
“Ha… haha…”
She must not have woken up yet. Or maybe the car accident had been too serious, and she was still trapped in a dream.
Yes. That had to be it.
She had lived for more than half her life and had never once encountered anything good. How could something as fortunate as becoming Su Yi possibly happen to her?
Besides, if she had become Su Yi, then where was the real Su Yi?
Surely Su Yi had not died in her place?
Impossible. How could Su Yi possibly die?
Bian Lu was certain this was only a dream. She was just about to go back to bed and lie down. Maybe when she opened her eyes again, she would be back to normal.
But before she could turn around, the door on the opposite side of the walk-in closet rattled twice, then was shoved open with a bang.
She saw herself walk in with a cold face, looking as if she wanted to eat someone alive.
“You’re Bian Lu, right? Get out of my body. Now.”
