OO Romance—The Yuri Of All Yuri! - Chapter 17
Su Yi could not sleep.
Her stomach pain had tormented her for half the night, and now that it had finally eased a little, she should have fallen asleep quickly. Yet she simply could not sleep.
There were only two people in the ward: her and Bian Lu. But a small night-light had been left on, so it did not count as being alone together in the dark. It would not trigger her physiological rejection.
Darkness, two people alone, an enclosed space.
As long as those conditions were not all met, she would be fine.
Since she was fine, why couldn’t she sleep?
She thought of the Olympiad from her third year of high school. Originally, she had not wanted to participate. It was her mother who hoped she would.
At the time, she had taken a half-year leave from school. She had fallen far behind in her studies, and with her heat cycle still unstable, her mother worried she might not successfully get into university. That was why she hoped Su Yi could fight for a recommendation spot.
But back then, Su Yi had only just walked out of the shadows. Even with a night-light on, she could not be alone with anyone except her mother. She had not expected that the organizers’ so-called Olympiad reform would require the competition to be split over two days, with an overnight stay at a hotel.
She had wanted to call her mother, but she was afraid her mother would worry too much. Besides, it was only opening a room by herself. It was not exactly difficult. She had thought she could handle it.
But she had overestimated the team teacher’s ethics. The teacher had no intention of solving the problem at all. She only wanted to use her position to force Su Yi to obey. She even chased Su Yi to the front desk and deliberately scolded her loudly, trying to make her unable to bear everyone’s stares and give in.
Later, when the teacher saw Su Yi’s firm attitude, she finally realized how serious the matter was and tried to salvage the situation. But her attempt to salvage it was only to save her own face, to avoid being unable to explain things when they returned to school, and to perform in front of the media as a fine gardener of the motherland.
Her hypocrisy was laughable.
Su Yi had no obligation to act along with her.
Even without relying on a recommendation spot, Su Yi would definitely get into the school her mother wanted.
She left the hotel in anger. It was not that she did not hear the whispers in the crowd, nor was it that she failed to notice those unfriendly gazes.
She simply did not care.
They were all strangers. They were not worth her attention.
She walked out of the hotel entrance. The sky had already turned completely dark. Cars flowed endlessly along the road, and neon lights reflected against the lamps of countless homes. The hotel parking lot was packed with private cars, but not a single one was familiar to her.
Her mother did not know she had withdrawn from the Olympiad. She could not possibly come pick her up.
Her father…
Her father would never come pick her up again.
At that moment, she suddenly felt especially awful.
If her father were still here, he definitely would not have let her suffer such a grievance.
If her father were still here, he would definitely have arranged everything before she even entered the Olympiad. Something like this never would have happened.
If her father were still here, even if he did nothing, even if she only called him to complain and cry a little, the grievance in her heart would have vanished like smoke.
But now, she could do nothing.
She did not even dare call her mother.
Her mother had been spoiled by her father into being willful and quick-tempered. If she knew Su Yi had suffered such a great grievance, she would definitely turn everything upside down. Then after making a scene, she would blame herself and feel sad, and she might not recover even after crying all night.
Then… should she call her uncle? Have him come pick her up?
Her uncle knew about her situation. Besides the driver, he would also have Sister Zhou come along. As long as she was not alone with someone, she would be fine.
She took out her phone, found her uncle’s number, and called him.
Before her uncle picked up, someone walked past behind her and suddenly tore off her blocker patch!
She instinctively raised a hand to cover the back of her neck. Just as she was about to turn around, an overwhelming wave of alpha pheromones nearly suffocated her.
That was only her second year after differentiation. Her heat cycle was extremely unstable, and she was very easily induced.
At once, she lost control and began releasing pheromones.
What would happen if an omega went into heat in public?
One could find the answer by casually flipping through social news.
She knew she had to immediately find a safe place to hide, or find a pharmacy and buy suppressants.
But she could not control herself at all. Her heat made her so weak that she could not walk. She could only curl up by the roadside, desperately pulling up her school uniform to cover the back of her neck and her head, while her trembling hands called her uncle.
Her uncle said he would be there immediately.
But before her uncle arrived, someone pulled away the school uniform covering her head and injected a suppressant directly into her gland.
Suppressants could be taken orally, injected into the upper arm, or injected directly into the gland.
Injection into the gland took effect the fastest, but it hurt the most and required professional medical personnel to perform it. Otherwise, the gland could easily be injured.
That person’s technique had been skilled. Su Yi had only just frowned from the pain when the injection was already over.
That person pulled off her own blocker patch and stuck it over Su Yi’s gland. Then she put the school uniform back over Su Yi’s head, helped her sit at a flowerbed a little farther away, drove off the alphas attracted by the pheromones, and stayed with her until her uncle arrived.
Su Yi had been groggy the whole time, and with her school uniform jacket covering her, she had not clearly seen what that person looked like. She only remembered murmuring to her uncle over and over, “Thank them properly.”
Later, she heard from her uncle that he had given that person two hundred thousand yuan, and that person had left happily.
Sister Zhou had complained that the person was short-sighted. Having a chance to connect with a young miss like Su Yi was worth far more than two hundred thousand. Picking sesame seeds while losing a watermelon.
But Su Yi felt that was fine. She even thought the amount was too little. For a kindness given in the middle of a snowstorm, adding two more zeros would not have been excessive.
Later, she had also asked her uncle for that person’s contact information, wanting to thank her in person. Her uncle said that person had only been a tourist from another city and that he had not asked for any contact information, so Su Yi did not force the matter further.
Why had she suddenly thought of all this?
What had she originally been thinking about?
Right. She had originally been thinking that she had improved a lot over the years. Back during the Olympiad, even with a night-light on, she could not stay in the same guest room alone with someone. But now, she could keep a night-light on and stay in the same room as Bian Lu. Maybe in a few more years, she would be completely better.
Worth celebrating. Worth rejoic—
Her lips were suddenly touched.
Su Yi’s heart trembled, and the tiny bit of sleepiness she had just managed to brew instantly vanished without a trace.
What was that?
A finger?
What was Bian Lu doing?
While Su Yi was asleep, what exactly was she trying to do?!
This could not be endured.
Su Yi grabbed Bian Lu’s wrist in one motion.
“Caught you, didn’t I? Looks like the rumors aren’t all fake. If you go one day without that, you can’t control yourself.”
Aren’t you especially good at pretending to be innocent? Aren’t you especially good at angering people? I’d like to see how you’ll argue your way out of this.
Under normal circumstances, when someone was suddenly caught in the act, they would panic at least a little. Su Yi wanted Bian Lu to panic. If she did not panic, how else would her fox tail show?
However, Su Yi was disappointed.
Even with her wrist caught, Bian Lu did not struggle or panic. She only blinked and said with a harmless expression, “There was something dirty on your mouth.”
Su Yi sneered. “Then your eyesight is truly impressive. It’s this dark, yet you could still see something dirty on my mouth. Don’t tell me the Great Sage Sun is your grandfather, and you’re Sun Da-Lu?”
Bian Lu smiled. “All roads lead to Rome. That name has a nice meaning. But my mom probably wouldn’t agree to me changing both my given name and surname.”
Ha!
“How can you respond to anything I say?!”
“It shows that you have great talent for language. Anything you say can be picked up by someone else.”
“Stop flattering me. If you really can’t hold back, then tell me. I’ll think of a solution for you.”
“Oh? What kind of solution can you think of?” The curve of Bian Lu’s lips lifted even higher. “Let’s hear it.”
Su Yi was so angry her teeth hurt.
“My solution will definitely work!”
“Then say it.”
“Jump into the Huangpu River!”
Bian Lu blinked her long lashes. “What use is jumping into a river? Besides, why go all the way to the Huangpu River? Is there nowhere in Jing City to jump?”
“Can that be the same?”
“How is it different?”
“Only the Huangpu River fits your temperament.”
“Mm?”
Su Yi pressed her lips together and smiled. Her sly eyes looked like a little sprite who specialized in doing bad things. “Because you’re both… huang.”
She drew out the last word with a lilt.
Bian Lu’s lashes moved faintly. Not only did she not get angry, she even laughed aloud, though only a little.
Su Yi: “…”
Did I invite you to laugh?
I was insulting you!
This kind of person was the most annoying. When others were angry enough to jump, she smiled. When others mocked her coldly, she still smiled, as if everyone else were just clowns.
Bian Lu said with a smile, “All right. It’s late. Hurry and sleep.”
Easy for her to say.
With a wanton little thing who would not even let herself off standing nearby, how was Su Yi supposed to sleep?
“Why don’t you go back?”
She was sleepy.
“Okay.”
“No, you can’t go back!”
She would not even let herself off. How could Su Yi feel at ease letting her go home alone? Even if she did not find someone else, Su Yi still could not stop her from “entertaining herself”!
No. Absolutely not.
She definitely could not release the tiger back to the mountain.
Bian Lu was easygoing, as if she would leave if told to leave and would not be anxious if told to stay.
Bian Lu said, “Then sleep.”
Su Yi wanted to sleep too, but with Bian Lu beside her, how could she possibly sleep?
What kind of solution could she think of?
She took a deep breath. Her slightly rounded deer eyes shifted around until they landed on the tote bag she had brought from home. The bag’s handles were two braided milky-white ropes.
“Go. Pull those two ropes out.”
