OO Romance—The Yuri Of All Yuri! - Chapter 13
Bian Lu had not expected Su Yi to suddenly barge in.
In that instant, her mind went completely blank, as if she had been caught red-handed doing something bad. She panicked so badly that she even forgot the instinctive act of covering herself.
By the time she remembered she should cover up a little, another thought occurred to her: this was Su Yi’s body anyway. What did it matter whether she covered it or not? Besides, she had not covered herself just now. If she suddenly covered herself now, those who knew would say she was slow to react, but those who did not would say she was putting on an act.
Su Yi definitely belonged to the latter group.
So Bian Lu simply gave up and stopped covering herself.
Seeing her own face appear in front of her in the middle of the night was actually quite terrifying. But in that moment, what she thought of was not fear. It was that the soul connected to those eyes was Su Yi.
When she thought about how she had pinched Su Yi’s face earlier, seen Su Yi’s pouting red lips, and even rubbed and pressed those lips, she felt… guilty, like a thief.
Fortunately, her expression management was decent enough that Su Yi did not notice anything.
But while she could control her expression, she could not control her gland. The back of her neck had been faintly swelling ever since she had looked into the mirror. After more than twenty years as an omega, she knew very well that it was the stuffy, swollen sensation caused by pheromones trying to spill out but being suppressed by the blocker patch.
She truly had not expected Su Yi to suddenly peel off her blocker patch.
Only when aroused would pheromones spill out.
Why had her pheromones spilled out?
That was not a question she should examine too deeply. What she cared more about was this: weren’t Su Yi’s pheromones supposed to smell like red wine? Why did they smell like milk?
Omega pheromones were divided by grade. The more natural the scent, the higher the grade.
For example, milk scent was natural. Her own Longjing tea fragrance was also natural. Those were high-grade scents.
But scents like cake, red wine, and cola required multiple stages of processing to create. Those were low-grade scents.
To put it simply, the closer the scent was to something natural, the higher its grade. The more processing it required, the lower its grade.
There was scientific basis for this. The more natural the pheromones, the higher the omega’s physical ability and intelligence, and their reproductive ability increased in proportion as well. The opposite was also true.
Translated into a more common saying, it meant: the more natural an omega’s pheromones were, the more they fit the traits of being delicate and soft-bodied, the better they were at bearing children, and they were not merely pretty vases either. They also had enough intelligence to be a capable spouse. They were the ideal partners most highly admired by alphas.
Su Yi clearly had top-tier SSS pheromones. Why would she disguise them as SS red wine fragrance?
Although there was only one grade of difference, wine fragrance was not popular among omegas. It was a scent commonly found among alphas, and it made people feel that the person was stern and difficult to approach.
Bian Lu could not help asking Su Yi, but Su Yi did not tell her. She only warned her not to speak of it outside.
This was Su Yi’s privacy. Bian Lu was nothing to Su Yi, so she truly should not have asked. She had overstepped.
Her stomach problems had started in middle school and only became severe during university. She knew how painful it could be when they flared up, so she went downstairs and searched through the kitchen. She found some yellow millet, but unfortunately there were no oyster mushrooms. Oyster mushroom millet porridge was very nourishing for the stomach, and it was savory. Su Yi liked savory food.
Bian Lu forced herself to stay alert and spent more than an hour cooking the porridge. When she brought it upstairs, Su Yi, still drowsy-eyed, questioned her about how she knew Su Yi liked savory food. Only then did Bian Lu realize she had been too careless.
She was not usually like this.
Business was like a battlefield. Especially when she had followed the moody Cen Qingke, she had always been cautious. Even earlier, when she had gone to ask Cen Qingke for pheromones, she had been fully alert.
But she did not know why, when facing Su Yi, she became slow, careless, and even occasionally dazed. In front of others, she did not feel that all of this was unreal. Only in front of Su Yi did she feel this way.
Maybe it was because… Su Yi was wearing her face, making her lower her guard subconsciously?
She had relaxed her guard against Su Yi, but Su Yi was full of hostility toward her. How was she supposed to get Su Yi to drink the porridge like this?
Looking at the steaming porridge in the bowl, Bian Lu’s original intention had been to let Su Yi drink it so her stomach would feel better. If they kept dragging things out, the porridge would go cold, and then it would not nourish the stomach but harm it instead.
How could she make Su Yi obediently drink the porridge?
After thinking briefly, she said, “I also guessed that you’d be willing to drink the porridge while listening to me explain why I pulled out the car key, and how we can switch back.”
Su Yi stared at her for a moment. That gaze should have been full of murderous intent, but expressed through Bian Lu’s damp deer eyes, she looked like an angry little hamster.
So this was what her eyes looked like when glaring at someone. No wonder everyone said she was a green tea. She really had no intimidation at all. Instead, she looked as if she were saying, “I’m angry. Hurry up and coax me.”
Bian Lu pulled over a European-style long chair and sat down. She watched as Su Yi picked up the bowl, scooped up a spoonful, blew on it, and put it into her mouth. Her soft pink lips were touched with translucent broth, as if coated with a thin lip mask. After swallowing the porridge, the tip of her scarlet tongue slipped out from between pearly teeth and naturally licked her lips before she continued with the next mouthful.
Outside the window, the night was deep.
The traffic that had flowed endlessly during the first half of the night had now quieted. Those returning late had all gone home. The streets were empty. Only the streetlights stood lonely by the roadside. Occasionally, a car passed by, like a shooting star streaking across the night sky, gone in an instant.
Bian Lu did not know what was wrong with her. Looking at Su Yi quietly drinking porridge, her heart suddenly filled with an indescribable emotion, as if it had been soaked in freshly brewed lemon water—sour and swollen. That feeling, too, was like a shooting star, flashing by in an instant.
“What are you staring at me for? Explain.”
Perhaps because the porridge was warm and felt comfortable in her stomach, Su Yi did not brush her off. She drank while urging Bian Lu to speak.
Only then did Bian Lu lean back in her chair and, enduring the fatigue-induced headache, say gently, “I pulled out the key because I didn’t want you to add fleeing the scene and obstructing law enforcement to the charge. If those were added, there’s no way you’d get out in fifteen days.”
Su Yi hooked the corner of her lips in mockery and took another mouthful of porridge. “Stop trying to scare me. I was clearly about to get away at the time. If you hadn’t interfered, he never would have caught up.”
Bian Lu said, “At the time, he indeed wouldn’t have caught up. But he could have contacted the traffic officers at the next intersection.”
Su Yi said, “He was already dazed from being affected by your pheromones. How would he have had the time to contact the next intersection? Besides, less trouble is better than more trouble. A young traffic officer like him was clearly newly hired. In order to keep his job, he wouldn’t have made trouble for himself.”
Bian Lu nodded. “You’re right. He was indeed a newly hired traffic officer, and he definitely wanted to keep his job.”
Su Yi said, “Exactly. So why did you pull out my car key? You deliberately wanted me detained so you could do something shady more conveniently.”
“No.”
“Then what was it?”
“It was his probation assessment.”
“What?”
“There was a body camera pinned to that traffic officer’s chest. It isn’t very common yet, and only those being assessed wear one right now. But it’ll become standard soon. By then, every officer on duty will wear one. The video and audio will be connected to the main network. Even if you had run, it would have been useless. When the time came, it would have been fleeing the scene, obstructing law enforcement, and driving without a license. Three offenses punished together.”
Su Yi was always knowledgeable, so naturally she had heard about the deployment of body cameras in the police system. She frowned without speaking, silently finished the last few mouthfuls of porridge, and reached out to put the bowl on the nightstand.
“Anyway, I didn’t notice it. Whether he was wearing a body camera or not is just whatever you say it is.”
“He really was wearing one.”
“It doesn’t matter anymore. What matters now is how we switch back.”
How to switch back?
Bian Lu wanted to know too.
She leaned back in the chair, smiling as she looked at Su Yi, and slowly said, “You don’t know?”
“How would I know?”
“I know as much as you do. If you don’t know, how would I know?”
Su Yi’s eyes widened slightly. “Then you tricked me into drinking the porridge?”
Was she getting anxious now?
In her previous life, Su Yi’s control over her emotions had been flawless. Bian Lu had never seen anyone successfully provoke Su Yi before. She had not expected that in this life, after meeting the twenty-one-year-old little Su Yi, she would accidentally broaden her horizons again and again.
Unhurried, Bian Lu said, “I only said I would explain why I pulled out the car key, and then discuss with you how we might switch back. I never said I knew how.”
Su Yi laughed from anger. Sitting cross-legged on the bed, she clenched her soft little fists tightly. She probably wanted to punch Bian Lu twice, but in the end, her upbringing did not allow it, and she restrained herself.
In her previous life, Su Yi had really hit people before.
“Fine. Then start thinking now. You’re not sleeping until you think of a way to switch us back!”
Bian Lu leaned forward slightly, interlacing her fingers and resting them on her knees. She saw Su Yi’s face reflected in her own pupils—long lashes like feathers, red lips vivid and bold. The smile on that face was not the obedient sweetness of her deer eyes, but rather something like an endless frozen land meeting peach blossoms: cold, sharp, and enchanting enough to melt a person’s heart.
“Didn’t you already think of a way?”
“Mm? Me?”
Su Yi blinked blankly.
Bian Lu said, “You mentioned it to me today at the traffic police station. Have you forgotten so quickly?”
“At the traffic police station…”
Su Yi thought for a second, and her pupils trembled slightly.
“You… you mean kissing?”
“Mm. There’s no one else here now. So… should we try?”
